    Rack of Lamb
    Brian L.

Went to Texas for a friend's birthday dinner and had a great time! The restaurant is well set up and had live music playing. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I got the rack of lamb with whipped potatoes and roasted vegetables. The lamb chop came with 4 pieces and was grilled to a delicious medium rare. The whipped potatoes and roasted vegetables balanced the meal really well. Would highly recomend.

My favorite restaurant in DFW! They have the BEST STEAKS EVER. I also love their lobster tail SO MUCH. Highly recommend the filet mignon (medium rare) with their burnt corn and whipped mashed potatoes. PS: GET THE CHOCOLATE CAKE!!!! You will leave full and so happy!

When I think of a fine steak house in Texas, I think of dark wood bars, chandeliers, elegance that meets rustic western pictures, and a lot of Texas charm. That my friends, is what I found at Texas restaurant. And the beauty of this place doesn't stop there. The food - outstanding! I had the beef tips, with charred corn and mashed potatoes. The steak was very tender and cooked perfect. I had not eaten charred corn before today... and it's now my favorite side item. And I don't know what they put in the potatoes with the brown gravy, but it's like beyond delicious. This is now my go-to place when I want a special dinner. The music is easy jazz, the atmosphere is comfortable and cozy, and the server, Jonathan, made the night perfect!

Have been here twice and have enjoyed it every time! Highly recommend for a celebration or just for a nice evening at a steakhouse. They also have private rooms for dining you can rent While the decor is different from your typical upscale steak restaurant, kind of kitschy, the service is on par with any nice steak place. Everyone is so nice and accommodating. Ambiance is fun and sometimes they have live music I recommend their sweet potatoe jalapeño soup. Any of their apps are really good. The steaks are standard. The desserts excel. Their cakes are always so moist and not too crazy sweet. I recommend the lemon cake! They used to have a strawberry lemon but not sure what happened to that, Texas please bring it back! Overall love this place. I definitely recommend you give it a try

We love this place! Adult dining without the kerfuffle. You can hear each other while dinning and still enjoy the live music . The staff is fabulous. Seriously fabulous! The food is always very good. Sam the live musician started the national anthem right at 7pm. The crowd all stood and began to sing some saluting and others with their hand over their heart. Dale Wanstad has built and maintained a beautiful restaurant with highly polished staff. Go! This is quality adult dining.

Everything was outstanding. My only feedback is I personally disliked how the bread doesn't come w/a plate & cutting knife. Especially given that the service & food was outstanding besides that... apparently intentional? Just very odd. And unsanitary in my opinion. I do look forward to coming again in the future despite the odd bread presentation. A definite recommend! (I can confirm that my med well steak was cooked so perfectly... that even when I leftovers later the same night... was still delish!

I was able to walk in and get a table near the bar area. Service was prompt and on point, great suggestions and the server was very attentive, but didn't pester. I had the filet and it was deliciously melty. The ambiance is unique, but not distasteful. I think my only gripe is how absolutely loud it is. Fortunately I was by myself otherwise trying to have a conversation with someone across the table, especially on the 1st floor, would be very difficult.

8oz filet with Texas taters and bacon green beans. Mushrooms in wine sauce.

My wife and I love this place, great atmosphere with a live musician. Steaks are fantastic with incredible sides. The Texas Taters are my go to with the bacon green beans. The staff is always on point, keeping drinks full with a smile. It gets busy, so make your reservations far enough in advance.

Our first trip to Dallas, we wanted the Texas steak. We looked here on Yelp for recommendations and came across this establishment. When we entered we were immediately greeted with smiles and we must have screamed "northerners" because we were getting lots of question lol. That was ok, and felt like we were meeting new family. We were seated quickly and we got our drinks taken care of quick. The room was fun - lots of Texas themed decorations adorned the walls and a constant flow of fun music was piped in. It took us a minute to realize that there was a live DJ working the music. The food was good, though nothing remarkable. The onion rings were fried perfectly. It got the flashed fried chicken and it was seasoned well and not dry. The side potatoes were a bit of a disappointment- was hoping for more crisp and they tasted like breakfast potatoes. The kids orders steaks and enjoyed them. We spent well over $200 for four of us and we didn't have any alcohol and shared 2 apps. Very pricey, but I didn't have anything to compare it to for the area. Would I go back? If it was my first time in Dallas I would say yes for the experience and good food. I am not sure I would rush back there for the food alone though.

More upbeat than a traditional steakhouse - like one on red bull and Texas-style all the way. Steaks were perfect and the calamari appetizer was a larger portion than I've had elsewhere. Servers have plenty of assistance so you never wait for anything you need.

Excellent food and service. My favorite place to go. Only reason for not getting five stars was the bar could use a little work.

The bar is lit in a way that makes you want to stay and chat. The only thing lovelier than the bartenders (that have been the same for years) was the loveliest companion that accompanied me most recently, and held such a wonderful conversation. There is a lot to the atmosphere here, both inside and outside, with the inside feeling like an intimate event, and the patio being a party starter. They often have live acoustic music outside, but it isn't brash or overwhelming. Usually one person and a guitar with a small amp. Nothing crazy. I haven't had pizza in one million years, but if I were going to break the streak it would be here. It's got a real artisan feel and taste that can't be beat. Ambiance: Parking may pose some difficulty due to the presence of multiple businesses nearby. Upon entering, I was welcomed by the hostess; however, the loud music from the DJ made it challenging to communicate effectively. The entry doors remained open, which raised concerns about potential insects affecting the dining experience. Service: The staff provided a warm welcome, and our server, China, demonstrated excellent hospitality and attentiveness, readily answering all questions. Communication was somewhat impeded by the volume of the music. Additionally, I noticed that silverware and napkins were not offered prior to the meal being served. Food: I ordered wings as an appetizer and needed to request additional napkins, as well as plates suitable for sharing for which I thought this would be a standard process without asking. The margarita was served in a plastic cup rather than glassware, which was unexpected. My pasta entrée was flavorful, and the salmon shrimp Oscar was equally enjoyable. It was concerning that, although my reservation was at 8 p.m., the restaurant had already run out of sautéed cabbage, an item on the menu. I would appreciate advance notification from staff regarding unavailable dishes. Overall, the quality of food and beverages was commendable. Overall: While the restaurant offers excellent cuisine, the loud music significantly limits opportunities for conversation during dinner. I recommend this establishment to those seeking good food, but not to those looking for a quiet dining environment. There are both advantages and challenges associated with this venue, and I hope the team continued success in the future.

Our waitress, I believe her name was China, was excellent. Her response time and attentiveness were also a 10 out of 10. Now for the rest. I ordered the chicken and waffles along with catfish, but was told the catfish was unavailable, which was surprising considering the timing of my order. The chicken had absolutely no flavor and could have been fried harder. Even with a better texture, it still would have needed seasoning. The waffles were very basic and slightly overcooked, nothing memorable. The person I was with ordered the oxtail and grits. Since he did not want the grits, I asked for them to be served separately. He also ordered a side of pancakes that were advertised as blueberry, but it was essentially a plain pancake with blueberries thrown on top. Very mediocre. The biggest disappointment was the oxtail portion. For a thirty dollar side, only two pieces were served, while another order of oxtail and grits at the table received significantly more. That felt inconsistent and honestly like poor value. That said, the oxtail itself was well seasoned and flavorful, easily a 10 out of 10 in taste. Across the table, several people shared the same feedback: lack of seasoning and lack of flavor. While the food came out quickly, most of it was lukewarm. The grits were good, about a 9 out of 10, but also came out lukewarm. The same applied to the oxtail, pancakes, and waffles. This makes it seem like the food may have been sitting before being served. Would I make the drive out to Richardson again? No. If you are local, it might work as a casual Sunday spot for drinks and a relaxed vibe, but overall, I was not impressed.

The initial arrival was entirely seamless, as I was able to secure a most convenient parking space directly on the street. Upon crossing the threshold, I must confess my initial impression was that the venue might be somewhat ordinary however, I was instantly disabused of that notion. The interior architecture features a truly magnificent, extensive collection of vintage typewriters alongside an absolutely breathtaking, grand display of fine wines. Having personal experience with typewriters from years past, I found their impressive stock to be thoroughly nostalgic, and the wine selection was nothing short of exciting. While the venue beautifully accommodates guests for delightful alfresco dining, I escorted myself inside to a highly comfortable table. The gentleman assisting me was exceptionally warm, providing a level of attentive hospitality that makes the entire excursion worthwhile. For my afternoon refreshment, I requested a crisp Blackberry Smash. While engaging in a brief, lovely conversation with the waiter, he elegantly suggested a curation of bruschetta pairings that would harmonize beautifully with the cocktail. On his superb guidance, I selected a quartet: the Goat Cheese & Spicy Pepper Jam, the Tomato & Mozzarella, the Apple Brie & Fig, and the French Onion Bruschetta. The kitchen executed the order with commendable precision. When the board arrived, the presentation was an absolute masterpiece and the entire flavor profile was a complete delight. The sophisticated combination of savory, sweet, and crisp textures left me thoroughly happy. It is an absolute treat of a destination, completely worthy of one's dining calendar.
