We chose this Brass Tap location for dinner on Friday because of location and karaoke that was scheduled to begin at 7 pm. The food was good and service was great. Our server (Blair) did a fantastic job! She was very friendly, attentive, suggested several menu items, gave an honest opinion and made sure we didn't want for anything. We ordered the Mac-n Cheese Bites, Wings, and Potstickers. The plan was to stay for karaoke, but it did not start on time so we left before 9 pm. We were staying at the aLoft across the street so we stopped in to Brass Taps a few times while visiting. I will say they are kind of pricey for what they offer. We had 2 margaritas and it was $40. Yikes. We were there during the day and as night during karaoke. During the day the place was extremely dead. At night though the place got pretty packed. The salsa tasted like store-bought Pace Picante, the guacamole had that artificial, pre-packaged tube flavor, and the queso was reminiscent of basic Rico's cheese sauce. I ended up canceling the burger, and while I understand this isn't a Tex-Mex spot, if they can't get the basics right, I doubt I missed out on anything special with the burger. I would like to try more things on the menu but so far im not impressed. As of right now, i prefer good union, tricky fish or char'd to this spot, but well see. It def beats fernandos and cool greens. Also my friend got a half and half that was really sweet. Im always worried when a place has too large of a menu bc they cant make everything fresh. The staff were not only friendly and welcoming, but also incredibly knowledgeable about the large craft beer selection and food menu. You can tell that they can really care about what they do and about creating a great guest experience. Service was fast, attentive, and on-point the whole time. The vibe has totally transformed. It feels more upbeat, inviting, and just overall more enjoyable to visit and have a meal and a cold beer. It feels like management and their team has really stepped up their game. The Brass Tap is a nice new addition to the Cityline area. The other bar on the same street has similar vibes (sports bar, live music/DJ) but The Brass Tap has it beat. We came in on a Saturday night and it was pretty busy with college football fans and live music. Sitting inside when there's live music is loud, but they do have a patio. Service was friendly. They are a beer bar so they've got lots of beers on tap, but I'm not a beer girl. They've got a good variety of bar food (apps, chicken, fish, tacos, pizza, flatbreads) and we enjoyed what we tried, the chicken nachos and the chicken tender basket. The chicken on the nachos was nicely seasoned and the jalapeños on them were fresh and spicy! The chicken tenders and fries seemed pretty high quality. Sometimes at bars you'll get obviously frozen breaded chicken strips, and these didn't taste like that. They seemed fresher. We all tried The Weekender cocktail, which was vodka with a variety of fruit juice or liquor, and it just tasted like orange juice. Not the worst and not gross, but not exactly what it claimed to be. I'll probably be back to give it another try. I'd say skip the cocktails and order your tried-and-true bar drink. Or a beer! And try the food! read more

We ate simple with "The Trio Dips & Chips. I loved the thin crispy chips - but I was disappointed with the serving size of the dips. Little baby black plastic cups. Not impressed.
