We came in after seeing Sazon De Loa featured on buckywildchild's IG page and wanted to show our support for this business. The restaurant inside was was quaint and clean and the service was very attentive and helpful with making suggestions. Our ceviche dish was a nice portion and tasted very authentic, clean, and fresh. When the server brought it out with the Valentina hot sauce, I knew this place was legit. Paired together with a tortilla chip, it was such a great bite. My wife's quesabirria tacos were very very good. The shredded beef was super tender and flavorful and the consommé was bold and rich. Very solid! My quesabirria ramen hit the spot! Eaten with some fresh squeezed lime, it satisfied my hunger for both my ramen and quesabirria cravings. I finished the entire bowl. Saw a video on Instagram that made me want to try this place. Friend and I drove down to give it a go. The restaurant was very clean and quiet even though there were several tables with guests talking. I liked the fact my friend and I didn't have to speak louder to hear one another. I got the carne asada burrito which was not bad. I wish it came with rice and beans, instead it came with a small salad and Cole slaw. There was a white sauce in a small bowl, I didn't try that at all. My friend ordered enchiladas and she was very impressed with the entire dish. She said the flavor of the sauce was delicious. My only true complaint would be the margarita was not very good at all. No salt on the rim, and it wasn't good. I just moved here from California, and one of the FIRST things on my mind was this place I had seen on TikTok months ago! It's so crazy that I ended up moving nearby, so of course I had to come try it for myself. First impressions: cozy, comfortable, spacious, and welcoming! I was greeted immediately when I walked in, which I always appreciate. I came in for an early lunch and ordered the brisket quesadilla with rice and beans. They started me off with fresh salsa and WARM, HOT chips. The chips were super crunchy, perfectly salted, and tasted so fresh. The salsa had the perfect amount of heat to it, not too spicy, but enough to give it a little kick. It was also nice and chunky, which I appreciate! Onto the main entree. Everything came out HOT and fresh. Everything was absolutely delicious. The brisket was juicy and flavorful, the tortilla was served piping hot, and the rice and beans paired perfectly with everything. One thing I especially loved was how nothing was overly salted. You could actually taste all the individual flavors without everything being drowned out by salt, which I appreciate SO much. I'm from California, so I'm VERY picky when it comes to Mexican food. One of the best meals I've had in a while. Shockingly good. Fresh and temperature appropriate. Plated like it was a Master Chef finale. Fresh house made chips and a warm salsa were wonderful. The choriqueso was pretty good (a little cold) and really loved the chips and salsa. It's pricey here, but I thought they would have happy hour specials. Nope. My issue is that they clearly advertise they have happy hour, yet when I ordered a house margarita at 3:15 on a Tuesday it was $12. I was told when I asked at the beginning it was on a happy hour special. $12 is not special. It's robbery, especially as it wasn't top shelf and was weaker than my last ex. Oh my gosh I've been wanting to come here for the longest and finally made it over, everything is literally spectacular! They have happy hour from 12-6, appetizer specials during happy hour. The food blew me away as everything was well flavored, fresh, delicious to the taste. I got the birria ramen and I'm so happy I did as it was delightful. I'm a big birria person and I'm always trying new birrias and this particular dish has been my favorite. I'll start this review by stating that I really, really, really wanted to like this place. We decided to give it a try on this warm Sunday afternoon based on a facebook review, and we held out a lot of hope for something great. Alas, it was not to be. The place was moderately busy when we went, with well over half of the tables taken. We were escorted to a table and warm salsa and chips were brought out. The salsa was the first warning. It was just ok, but no problem, we were not there for that. I ordered one of their claimed specialties: the Chili Relleno with chicken, and my wife got al Pastor tacos. It was a kind of long wait for our food, maybe 30 minutes or so. But again, no big deal, the place was near full and it was Sunday afternoon, after all. Our food finally arrived and this is where things went quickly downhill. First, the sides. Both of ours came with a side of rice and beans. The rice is a plain white Basmati rice (The kind you get in Indian places), but with no additional flavors or seasoning. Just plain, white, dry rice. Not good at all. Next up, the refried beans were somewhat better, but again, just lacking overall. OK, so the sides are meh, let's get to the mains. First up, a positive on my Relleno. The plating is nice, and the sauce it's topped with is very good. Finally, some favor! It was a well-balanced somewhat spicy sauce. Warn, savory, and welcoming. The first couple bites were great. But my joy was dashed as I worked into the chili. Here, I found the cheese, not melted at all, but rather just a rectangle as cold as the fridge. Same thing with the chicken. Luke-warm to cold. Now, the outside egg coating was indeed cooked, but the whole entree itself was not prepared correctly. A huge miss, considering this is one of the four featured "specialties". A flop of execution. I will say, given the sauce, had it been prepared correctly, it would have been at least very good, if not great. As for my wife's tacos - again, disappointment was served. The pork filling was ok, but really did not hit on what you know as the "al Pastor" flavor profile. No hints of achiote, no citrus, nothing but kind of a typical Mexican flavor of maybe some garlic and grilled onions. But overall, just lackluster, dry pork chunks, no where near an al Pastor style or flavor. We nibbled and ate what we could. It took us another 20 minutes to flag someone down to pay. And then, we had to repeat our order to the lady, so she could ring it up. Overall, the whole thing feels like an early days start-up that needs to get their act together quickly. But for us, this was a one-and-done chance and we won't be back. read more

Had lunch yesterday July 23, 2026 with my wealth manager at Saxon De Loa. She had never been there so I suggested it for our review and catch up meeting. We ordered something special that was not on the menu - grilled chicken with veggies. When it arrived it was presented beautifully and sorry, we failed to take pictures. The grilled chicken was on a bed of grilled onions and bell peppers with grilled carrots, green beans, cauliflower, summer squash and zucchini on the other side of the plate. It was so flavorful and delicious. The handmade tortillas were phenomenal and very unique! They say that you eat with your eyes as well as your mouth and taste buds and this dish delivered in all areas. I believe in supporting local and support family owned businesses and this is a great one to support. Will definitely go back again and order this dish again!!! I had the Enchiladas Al Sazon: Three enchiladas, stuffed with your choice of queso, brisket, or chicken, and smothered in your pick of salsa verde or roja. Topped with lettuce, tomatoes, crema, and queso fresco. Served with a side of rice and beans. I chose beef, cheese and chicken with verde sauce. It was delicious but I wish it was served hotter, temperature wise. I like my Mexican food served "too hot to eat" where it needs to cool a bit. She had the Cod Fillet Al Coco: Pan-fried cod fillet, breaded with coconut and maseca. Drizzled with mango chipotle sauce and smoky chipotle aioli. Served with garden vegetables and basmati rice. This was served at just the right temperature- HOT! And it was absolutely amazing. Service was good, the place is spotless clean, and did I mentions the chairs are comfortable? Not those trendy metal chairs like you would fine in your 8th grade wood shop back in the early 70's. I HATE those metal industrial chairs. We live close by and hve been wanting to try this place- the fact that it's on Inkjnd app was a plus. We happen to go on a night they were celebrating their anniversary so free margaritas and an appetizer mix. This is a family owned restaurant and the Service is very attentive. The meal started with complementary homemade chips and salsa. The chips were very crisp and not over salted. I generally gauge Mexican restaurants by their chili relleno, this one gets 10 stars on a scale of 1 - 5 stars. Not fried, and served in an amazing sauce. The second entrée was the Sazon Pollo.
