I have been here twice. Originally, I was going to give this place 3 stars, but my second visit is what dropped it to 1. The service was fine. Our server was nice. The food is okay, but it's not worth the price. The same goes for the drinks. Everything is overpriced and overhyped. They do give you free chips and salsa. On my first visit, I had the chicken flautas. They were okay. Just regular flautas, nothing exciting. They weren't bland, so that's a plus. They came with black beans and green rice. My wife had the mixed fajitas with steak and chicken. Same story. They were average. Not bad, but not great. They came with refried beans, Spanish rice, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, and cheese on the side. I also had a mixed drink that cost more than it should have. It wasn't very memorable. It was okay, just expensive. The second visit is why this place gets 1 star. We ordered food online while we were at the watch party for the Mexico game. The estimated pickup time was 20 minutes, which I thought was reasonable. When I arrived, the manager kept telling me the food was almost ready. After stringing me along for about an hour, they finally told me they couldn't find my order. They canceled the order and refunded my money. I won't be coming back. read more

I was taken here by a good friend for a birthday lunch. FOOD: I had a mango watermelon soft serve margarita to start. It is outstanding and has plenty of alcohol in it. My main entrée were the shrimp tacos. They were also very good. I like that they do not give you a ton of chips because to me that really dampen your main entrée. I deducted one star because the fried dessert tasted like it was fried in old oil. ATMOSPHERE: the place is beautiful and airy and open. It is good to have a business lunch, take a date or even have a celebration. SERVICE: our waitress was Stephenie. She was one of the best servers I've ever had. The reinvention of this restaurant was a good thing. Not sure if it was just a name change as I had never tried Fernando's. I will say believe the hype! They have the BEST soft serve and Texas margaritas. 1 will get you where you want to go. The food is pretty good, not the best but good. The service has always been good and accommodating. The waiters accidentally spilled a drink down my friend's back on her birthday and management made it right! I have been recommending this spot to everyone. I stopped by on a friday afternoon and ofcourse i was here for the soft serve margaritas. Angel was our waiter and he was super attentive. This place has a real cute airy vibe. We were seated immediately. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Started with chips and salsa that was good. I had the garlic shrimp tacos which were good as well. The star of the show I tried both soft serves the guava swirl and the watermelon mango. Watermelon mango was my favorite. They said they change flavors every so often. A story popped up in my news feed as I was scrolling regarding Mannys new concept. More Mex Less Tex. 20 years ago, Mannys established itself as a go to Tex Mex restaurant. I guess they are branching out to follow a trend of more interior Mexican and Latin American. The restaurant itself is attractive, spacious, comfortable and well designed. Located in a multi use complex amoung the State Farm buildings off Renner rd and Central expressway,you wouldn't know it was here,unless you knew. Hence,the advertising worked as the place was busy to have opened days ago. Our waitress was obviously inexperienced but,pleasant and got the job done. The seating was comfortable with views of the restaurant broken up strategically by the designers. Nice. The menu is extensive and to my surprise had quite a bit of Tex Mex. More interior Mexican and Latin American was covered in areas like chef specials. I was keeping my consumption down or probably would have opted for the short rib. It was served one table over and looked promising. I had the mole chicken enchiladas with rice and black beans. The mole was smokier and a little darker than others around town but good. My dinning partner had Redfish tacos on corn tortillas which were also very good. Overall nothing really great or wrong with Mannys Mexican Kitchen. However,it seems to have joined the club occupied by Mi Cocina and Glorias which aren't my fave style of food. My standard is just down the street at Popasitos. New addition to cityline I definitely like the food better than the last Mexican restaurant that was there but definitely average Mexican. I work at Cityline so a co worker and myself went for lunch. They have an extensive lunch menu for $14 bucks and that's what we ordered from I had the Birria taco lunch plate Serving size is very small but perfect for me: All items were just ok. I can't express how sad I was when Fernando's closed, but felt revived when I heard Manny's was on the way to fill the empty space. The interior has been completely refreshed - more elegant with cooler temperature colors and less wood tones. Service was excellent and we had several managers stopping by to check on us throughout our lunch. The lunch menu provides several options at the $14 price point (as of March 2026). Great drinks and food, but we had a poor experience with the bartender Jose, which really dimmed our experience. My friend and I ordered two soft serve margs at the bar while standing. We later found seats and when the bartender came up to us, we shared that we already ordered a drink each and tabbed out. He then proceeded to make our drinks right away unprompted since we were still waiting for them. 10 minutes later, our original drinks came out so now we had two drinks each. The bartender then came to us asking if we were going to pay for the second drink. We both said no since we only wanted one and that we would give back the second one. He said that he couldn't take them back and that it was okay. The problem we had was that after that discussion, he came to us 2 more times asking us to pay for the second drinks we received, after we already said we didn't want to. This was extremely frustrating because not only were we extremely communicative about already ordering, we also tried to give back the second drinks only to be denied. So to receive passive comments about us refusing to pay was upsetting. I understand it's a busy day and everyone is busy/stressed, but my friend and I were also very communicative. Don't think it was fair for us to be pressured to pay for drinks we didn't order, especially over a mistake that wasn't ours. Other than that, drinks and food were good. I was patient about the hour wait at first, but after receiving multiple texts saying my table was ready and still being made to wait, it started to feel intentional and unprofessional, especially that close to closing time. I was a Fernandos loyal customer. So I anxiously waiting to see what was going to happen with the space. I was excited it was Tex/Mex hoping it stood up to Fernandos food and also service. I found out it was Mannys....ok...could be a hit or miss as I've went to the Manny on Campbell and not impressed, the Mannys in Sachse i enjoyed the food. Every Mannys is different food and service. I go to the Cityline Manny after a few delayed openings it finally open. First few visits good food but service slow, as far as swinging back around to see if anything was needed. Couple of times bring food to the table that we didn't order. I shrug it off they're are opening. I've been able to make reservations which I like and they so far have been on point on sitting the party in a timely manner. The last visit was dismal and I was embarrassed as I sold it as you're going to like this place. We got seated ordered our drinks. Drink come with little to no ice and of my guests literally asked for ice repeatedly and it was a hit and miss if it would be brought, ran out of water and couldn't get more water, finally had to tap someone for water. I was ready to get up and pour my own water. Refills of tea or reorder of mixed drinks were not offered. I had to order my drink 3 times before getting a second drink. One person had mole and mentioned it was so thick and had a burnt taste, another literally would not eat the meat on her salad. Usually I order jalapeño poppers and get 5 we only got 3 (INCONSISTENT). We then had to wait for our ticket 30 minutes. The first time it happened on a previous visit I thought the waitress was new and overwhelmed we winded up getting our check from one of the 4 hostess. But this visit 6 hostess/manager standing around we couldn't get water, drinks, check. I really wanted to love this place, but the service was honestly unacceptable. I came here for my birthday to try the soft serve margaritas, and while the drinks and atmosphere looked great, the experience was ruined by being completely ignored. We sat for nearly an hour without anyone asking if we wanted an appetizer and had to flag someone down just to order the brisket queso. After our drinks were dropped off, we waited another 30 minutes to try and order food. I received the queso and never even received chips, so I couldn't eat anything the entire time. What made it worse was watching a large table next to us get fully served--orders taken, food delivered, plates cleared, to-go orders, and even to-go boxes--before we were ever asked about a main course.
