    Kitchen Sink Gumbo - Bowl

Since I work in the area, I get lunch here from time to time. Today I ordered the gumbo. Noticed this while I was eating. Disappointing. I understand things happen but this really turned my stomach. Not sure if I'll be back for a while.

This is an awesome spot in CityLine. It's a very casual, sit down restaurant and they are really reasonably priced with speedy and kind service. I got the shrimp po boy and my wife got the shrimp tacos, both with fries. They were delicious and only about $30 total. Our table also got some snow crab with coleslaw and hushpuppies. They were really tasty and accompanied by butter and cocktail sauce, but they were pretty spicy and there was no warning. Other than that it was a great evening with a good ambiance, great food/service, and filling for the price, I would easily come back if I'm feeling seafood.

The food is still good but the service has gone downhill in this, obviously failing, restaurant. We went tonight and watched 5-6 waiters joke around while the three seated tables waited for service. We waited 10 minutes and watched another table get served while our waiter joked with the rest of the lazy wait staff. He didn't even bother to come to us until I stood up and waived my arms. The sad thing about this is that we eat here relatively regularly. That ended today.

I first came here a year ago and wanted to come back this visit as well. I really like this place located in a nice area with plenty of parking. This time I got the soft shell crab poboy without the bun and the batter was light and crispy. I really enjoyed it! I remember liking the fried oysters last year as well but this time it was a bit overcooked. Batter was too crunchy and dry. Slaw was tangy and fries are great. I also recommend the key lime pie. I definitely remember it was last time! A little pricy for the size you get but I love the tartness and tanginess of this pie! Definitely worth a try!!

One of my go to seafood places around. The 'tricky fish' blackened is absolutely phenomenal. Drinks are a bit pricey and ALL of the wine is cooled, even the cabarnets... they need to stop that Management allegedly is the reason for that. Every dish has been awesome though and service is good. Also some of the best hush puppies we've ever had. Bacon wrapped shrimp are amazing. Crawfish etouffe is also fantastic. Ambiance is chill, mostly casual. Will return anytime I'm craving Cajun seafood.

5 stars for the salmon! I could've licked the plate. Everything went perfectly together, veggies were cooked nicely and the mashed potatoes were full of flavor. I would personally skip on the boil but will for sure be back for the plates. Hush puppies were yummy!

My friend and I met here for dinner. Our server was friendly and made our visit enjoyable. I had the seafood tacos which were a nice medley of flavors, hot and fresh. The fries were nicely seasoned and hot. This was an overall great meal!

Came here for an early dinner. Restaurant was very clean. Service was great. They had THE best snow crab. The meat literally fell out of the shell. It was so fresh and cooked right. The only criticism that I had was the gumbo wasn't my fav. The sauce was really thick and I didn't enjoy the taste. You gotta try their okra! So flavorful! I will definitely come back!

Our server was very attentive and conscientious of my food intolerances. The restaurant is bright and open and got busy with their lunch crowd on a Sunday. My fish was a little dry at the edges, but fine otherwise. The cole slaw was fresh and had a little spice to it. The veggies were perfectly cooked, still retaining some firmness and well-seasoned. My son loved his fish and chips.

Had reservations for 6:45pm on a Friday night. Restaurant was packed, but bustling service didn't suffer as more tables filled up during our meal. We started with the fried green tomatoes which arrived piping hot with a creamy sauce and blackened shrimp. When I say "piping hot" I mean blister your tongue hot. Blow on your food! Our main course included Tricky Fish blackened and the Mussels boil for one. The mussels were nicely spiced, but the potatoes in the boil were very large for "new" potatoes and the sausage was under represented in the boil. Tricky fish was lightly blacked. The dirty rice was an ample portion, but the ettouffee was scantly represented and contained the smallest crawfish tails I've ever encountered. The okra was the star of the plate! Fantastic prep with cajun seasoning and roasted. A few pieces were too woody to eat, but overall, it was a tasty alternative to boring fried okra. The dining room uses every square inch for seating. As a result, the dinner hour was louder than expected. Also, the hostess check in area has zero space if you are waiting to be seated. The outside tables seamed quieter, but the wind/dust storm ruled those tables out for this meal. We will be back to try other items, but not on a hectic Friday night.

A Floridian I love seafood and was little skeptical. My friend suggested this place for us to come hang out and grab a bite in City Line while I was visiting Plano. My friend and I got the crab boil. Warning do not get if you don't do spicy. We didn't realize what we're getting into. It was good but it was spicy! We were pleasantly surprised overall with quality of the seafood and everyone enjoyed their meal. I will say the hush puppies were not the best but we also waited to eat them so they were cold by the time we got to them. We had a very nice waiter and she kept the water coming when the spice came in. If anyone is ever craving seafood in the area I would recommend as a spot to check out!

It's been a bit since I've been here. Needed something in this neighborhood and thought I would drop in for lunch. They have a lunch menu of six choices, and it's $15.16 including a drink and tax. I selected blackened chicken with grilled veggies and loaded mashed potatoes. All were delicious. I wonder if I could sub blackened catfish for the chicken? I'll have to inquire about that. I did note one of the other dishes had a choice of catfish, shrimp, or chicken tenders. Drink choices are what's at the fountain, including some cane sugar sweetened sodas and iced tea. As for the service/ you order at the counter during lunch. I'm a bit late for lunch so there is no crowd, but I'm guessing this probably worked best for the lunch rush. They did deliver the food to the table of my choice, and the manager came by and offered refills and cleaned the table of dishes when I was done. Update: I just spoke with the manager and asked for the lunch menu. She said it was new, so hopefully this helps them promote it. I'm posting a photo of the menu and my lunch. Top notch, as always!

Henry checked on us often, was super patient, and just genuinely kind. Bernie kept our water full and was always nearby making sure we were good without hovering. They made the whole night feel easy and fun. The food was just as good. We started with the mushroom fondue, creamy, cheesy, and packed with flavor. The bread was perfect, crispy and thin but still sturdy enough to scoop everything up without falling apart. We also split one of the toast boards and loved it. Great mix of flavors and just a really fun thing to share. They're also known for some really good favorites like the burrata toast, steak frites, truffle fries, and their charcuterie boards. Their brunch gets a lot of hype too, especially the French toast and eggs Benedict. And their seasonal cocktails are always a hit, really creative and well balanced. Bathrooms were clean, always a plus. Only tiny note, I wish there were more purse or coat hooks, every place needs those. Overall, we had such a great time. The service really stood out and the food totally delivered. Definitely one of those spots you leave already planning your next visit.

The vibe was nice. You must make a reservation! This is what I enjoyed: Side of Lamb chops: 10/10 tender, meaty, nice smoky and sweet flavor, well seasoned. Side of Mac and cheese: 6/10 a bit dry, needs a bit more seasoning, if both of these things were not an issue it would be perfect. Oxtails and jollof rice: 10/10 oxtails were full of flavor and enjoyable. They could have been a bit more tender. Overall the flavor carried it to a perfect 10. The rice is seasoned and a bit smokey and cooked to the perfect doneness. Table bread: 9/10 puff puff style bread. They were fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. I prefer Dusse over Hennessy which is what was on the menu. Jerk chicken: 10/10 flavorful wings. Jerk seasoning was there and not too spicy. Cooked just right and not dry. Collard greens: 6/10 savory flavor. I am a collard greens specialist and I prefer a sweet and hot profile. Although these are just savory they were cooked to the correct tenderness. For an appetizer, I started with the oxtail spring roll. I will say it leaned more toward a pot roast flavor because of all the cabbage and carrots inside. It didn't quite taste like oxtail or have much of the Jamaican flavor I was expecting, aside from the little bit of gravy served with it. For our meals, my friend ordered the Poundo Fufu with Egusi Soup and Beef, and I got the Jollof Rice with Stew Beef. The jollof rice was definitely some of the best I've had, really flavorful and the meat was tender and well done. The owner, Will, was very friendly and gave us some great recommendations for other dishes to try next time. If I'm ever back in Dallas, I would definitely stop by again.
