I am such a fan of Tricky Fish. I can honestly say I love most things on their menu. That changed on this visit. I NEVER paid attention to the fact they sold oysters. So I was excited and expecting them to be delicious. They were so bad and made me sad. I love new experiences, but this one made me want to cry. These oysters were awful and the WORST oysters I have ever seen and eaten. I really should have sent them back. I instantly regretted them once I tasted them. The presentation was off with the dark burnt cheese. They were SO bland and flavorless. Where was the garlic butter???? Smothered in parmesan cheese that was burnt. The saving grace was my side of okra. It was delicious as usual. Well seasoned and tasty. Service was good and waitress was pleasant. Ambiance is always good, with a fun energy and vibe. I love sitting in the big booths. It was clean and comfortable. Overall the experience fell short for me. The oysters are a NO.

I split a giant 6 count broiled oyster appetizer. The shells were huge. The oysters not so much but broiling them made them smaller. The dinner special that night was a soft shell crab Po Boy sandwich consisting of 2 soft shell and home made cole slaw which was delicious. The romelade sauce was delicious and perfect for the sandwich and for dipping the side of French fries in b

Tricky Fish did not disappoint! We started with broiled oysters that were absolutely delicious, and the shrimp and crab bisque was rich and satisfying. For our mains, we each ordered the fried catfish and shrimp platter, which came with well-seasoned fries and a decent coleslaw. The ingredients were super fresh and everything was well-seasoned in my opinion -- my fiancé felt the catfish could've used a bit more seasoning (he's a big fan of Aunt Irene's heavily seasoned style), but agreed the quality and freshness were on point. For drinks, I went with a refreshing mocktail made with coconut water, guava, and lime, while my fiancé grabbed a coke from the self-serve soda fountain -- a nice, casual touch. From the moment we walked in, the experience was seamless. We were greeted and seated immediately, and our waitress Ashley was friendly, attentive, and great at guiding us through the menu. Food came out quickly and arrived hot and fresh. Would definitely come back -- highly recommend if you're looking for a solid seafood spot!

This is an awesome spot in CityLine. It's a very casual, sit down restaurant and they are really reasonably priced with speedy and kind service. I got the shrimp po boy and my wife got the shrimp tacos, both with fries. They were delicious and only about $30 total. Our table also got some snow crab with coleslaw and hushpuppies. They were really tasty and accompanied by butter and cocktail sauce, but they were pretty spicy and there was no warning. Other than that it was a great evening with a good ambiance, great food/service, and filling for the price, I would easily come back if I'm feeling seafood.

Since I work in the area, I get lunch here from time to time. Today I ordered the gumbo. Noticed this while I was eating. Disappointing. I understand things happen but this really turned my stomach. Not sure if I'll be back for a while.

I first came here a year ago and wanted to come back this visit as well. I really like this place located in a nice area with plenty of parking. This time I got the soft shell crab poboy without the bun and the batter was light and crispy. I really enjoyed it! I remember liking the fried oysters last year as well but this time it was a bit overcooked. Batter was too crunchy and dry. Slaw was tangy and fries are great. I also recommend the key lime pie. I definitely remember it was last time! A little pricy for the size you get but I love the tartness and tanginess of this pie! Definitely worth a try!!

One of my go to seafood places around. The 'tricky fish' blackened is absolutely phenomenal. Drinks are a bit pricey and ALL of the wine is cooled, even the cabarnets... they need to stop that Management allegedly is the reason for that. Every dish has been awesome though and service is good. Also some of the best hush puppies we've ever had. Bacon wrapped shrimp are amazing. Crawfish etouffe is also fantastic. Ambiance is chill, mostly casual. Will return anytime I'm craving Cajun seafood.

The food is still good but the service has gone downhill in this, obviously failing, restaurant. We went tonight and watched 5-6 waiters joke around while the three seated tables waited for service. We waited 10 minutes and watched another table get served while our waiter joked with the rest of the lazy wait staff. He didn't even bother to come to us until I stood up and waived my arms. The sad thing about this is that we eat here relatively regularly. That ended today.

5 stars for the salmon! I could've licked the plate. Everything went perfectly together, veggies were cooked nicely and the mashed potatoes were full of flavor. I would personally skip on the boil but will for sure be back for the plates. Hush puppies were yummy!

My friend and I met here for dinner. Our server was friendly and made our visit enjoyable. I had the seafood tacos which were a nice medley of flavors, hot and fresh. The fries were nicely seasoned and hot. This was an overall great meal!

Came here for an early dinner. Restaurant was very clean. Service was great. They had THE best snow crab. The meat literally fell out of the shell. It was so fresh and cooked right. The only criticism that I had was the gumbo wasn't my fav. The sauce was really thick and I didn't enjoy the taste. You gotta try their okra! So flavorful! I will definitely come back!

The bar is lit in a way that makes you want to stay and chat. The only thing lovelier than the bartenders (that have been the same for years) was the loveliest companion that accompanied me most recently, and held such a wonderful conversation. There is a lot to the atmosphere here, both inside and outside, with the inside feeling like an intimate event, and the patio being a party starter. They often have live acoustic music outside, but it isn't brash or overwhelming. Usually one person and a guitar with a small amp. Nothing crazy. Ambiance: Parking may pose some difficulty due to the presence of multiple businesses nearby. Upon entering, I was welcomed by the hostess; however, the loud music from the DJ made it challenging to communicate effectively. The entry doors remained open, which raised concerns about potential insects affecting the dining experience. Service: The staff provided a warm welcome, and our server, China, demonstrated excellent hospitality and attentiveness, readily answering all questions. Communication was somewhat impeded by the volume of the music. Additionally, I noticed that silverware and napkins were not offered prior to the meal being served. Food: I ordered wings as an appetizer and needed to request additional napkins, as well as plates suitable for sharing for which I thought this would be a standard process without asking. The margarita was served in a plastic cup rather than glassware, which was unexpected. My pasta entrée was flavorful, and the salmon shrimp Oscar was equally enjoyable. It was concerning that, although my reservation was at 8 p.m., the restaurant had already run out of sautéed cabbage, an item on the menu. I would appreciate advance notification from staff regarding unavailable dishes. Overall, the quality of food and beverages was commendable. I recommend this establishment to those seeking good food, but not to those looking for a quiet dining environment. The initial arrival was entirely seamless, as I was able to secure a most convenient parking space directly on the street. Upon crossing the threshold, I must confess my initial impression was that the venue might be somewhat ordinary however, I was instantly disabused of that notion. The interior architecture features a truly magnificent, extensive collection of vintage typewriters alongside an absolutely breathtaking, grand display of fine wines. Having personal experience with typewriters from years past, I found their impressive stock to be thoroughly nostalgic, and the wine selection was nothing short of exciting. While the venue beautifully accommodates guests for delightful alfresco dining, I escorted myself inside to a highly comfortable table. The gentleman assisting me was exceptionally warm, providing a level of attentive hospitality that makes the entire excursion worthwhile. For my afternoon refreshment, I requested a crisp Blackberry Smash. While engaging in a brief, lovely conversation with the waiter, he elegantly suggested a curation of bruschetta pairings that would harmonize beautifully with the cocktail. On his superb guidance, I selected a quartet: the Goat Cheese & Spicy Pepper Jam, the Tomato & Mozzarella, the Apple Brie & Fig, and the French Onion Bruschetta. The kitchen executed the order with commendable precision. When the board arrived, the presentation was an absolute masterpiece and the entire flavor profile was a complete delight. The sophisticated combination of savory, sweet, and crisp textures left me thoroughly happy. It is an absolute treat of a destination, completely worthy of one's dining calendar.
