    Fried Catfish Basket

FOOD: This is my third time here, so I think it is a fair review. This was the first time ordering the fried catfish. It was so salty, I couldn't eat a half of one filet. The corn, potatoes and hush puppies were all good. The pricing is great! ATMOSPHERE: It is fine. Most of the time, I see people like me--picking up orders. SERVICE: The employees are great! Very friendly and attentive. TIP: Get the banana pudding!

This basket had me IMMEDIATELY shaking my head while eating it, that's how good it was. I almost wrote this review after the first bite, I loved it so much. I've brought my entire family to eat here before since they have really good family meal deals! If you want some good fried catfish, this place sits in my top 2 for sure!

Food is made fresh. Not too long of a wait. Tried both the blackened and fried and they're both excellent. Very friendly service, clean environment, seemed like a neighborhood favorite friendly spot. Definitely a go to for heartwarming fried food. There are also grilled options

What a find ! Cajun cuisine that is very well done. Discovered today in a strip center at corner of Coit and Campbell- Richardson Started with a bowl of gumbo. Shrimp and sausage with authentic dark rue base. Very good taste. Appetizer was boudin balls that were soft inside and crunchy outside. Large fried shrimp basket came with 6 perfectly fried shrimp, fries, and hush puppies. Warm beignets were a nice way to end our meal. Service was attentive Music enhanced the dining experience with toe tapping tunes. If you are looking for a spot to sample good Cajun fare, come here. See you there!

Delicious food at a reasonable price! Great Cajun food that is quick and informal. I haven't dined in, but I've made several pickup orders through Grub Hub. The food is always fresh and hot. Now, I'm a big catfish fan and I've tried the fish here 3 separate ways. Breaded, Blackened and Grilled. While I enjoyed the taste of the breaded and blackened catfish, the seasoning is too heavy handed with the salt. If they would go easy on the salt, these would definitely be five star eats. However, the grilled is perfect and the deliciousness of the fillets really comes through. Squeeze some of that fresh lemon on it and you have *chef's kiss* perfection! I always get the red beans and rice as a side and it's wonderful. Not salty, smoky and just spicy enough to create a little heat but not eclipse the flavor. I also recommend the hush puppies because they are fantastic with their crispness and slightly sweet corn meal. Definitely give The Catch a try. It's a great value for fresh and fast Cajun food. Go for the grilled goods and you will not be disappointed!

I can honestly say The Catch never misses..pun intended! I usually order through DoorDash, but this time I decided to pick it up myself. As soon as I got home, I opened that tray and went straight for the hush puppies because listen, this lady loveee a good hush puppy lol, and they did not disappoint. I've only had one visit that wasn't perfect, but it was just ONE item, not the whole plate. It wasn't enough to turn me away, and I'm glad I gave them another chance (& another, & another lol) because they've been consistent ever since. The fish and shrimp are always fresh, hot, and seasoned just right. It honestly reminds me of home. If you're from southern Louisiana, especially southeastern Louisiana...you already know the standard... so many places falsely advertise "that expectation of taste" but The Catch meets it. You will not be disappointed; highly recommend 1000%.

    Captain's Combo

I tried The Catch out recently and loved my experience! I ordered the Captains combo with included 2 catfish, 4 jumbo shrimp, 4 boudin balls, 3 hush puppies and 1 side. For $24 I thought this was a steal. The food tasted amazing and was perfectly crispy. It also came with multiple dipping sauces which completed the meal. I was also able to try the chicken tender basket with catch fries. Both the chicken tenders and the fries were perfectly seasoned and so flavorful! Our server Margaret was very nice and the ambiance of the restaurant was laid back and comfortable. This place hit the spot and I will definitely be back again!

This unassuming restaurant tucked in a corner of nondescript row of stores has stood the test of time. My first review of the place was in 2013. Here it is 13 years later then it is still going strong. I went for lunch with the family on a snow day. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. No numbers, they just remember who you are. I always get combo number 1 and add sweet potato fries. The prices are great and not much more than McDonalds but the difference in value is significant. The burgers are not thick but this time I noticed the double burger (#2) is just a couple of bucks more than the the single patty in #1. Note to self for next time. Although the patty is thin, the flavors work. The burger comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mustard. No ketchup, you add that yourself. The bun with sesame seeds always comes out piping hot. Sweet potato fries are crispy and not greasy. The combo comes with a drink for $10.99. That's a deal. I hope they stay in business another 13 years!

The patties are juicy, the buns are toasted perfectly, and everything tastes fresh and made with care. You can tell they are not trying to be trendy. The neighborhood may continue to change around it, but Chip's remains the same. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Chip's has an old school, nostalgic feel. The restaurant has an iconic sloping roof with a yellow outdoor exterior and a big green sign with its logo. Inside, there are plenty of booths, a bar, and even outdoor seating. Chip's has grown and expanded over the years but to me that adds to the nostalgic charm. 1 Star. Service - Chip's may have invented counter service. Upon entering, you look at the menu posted on the wall and place your order. You'll get a number (or they'll ask for your name), and you grab a table, and when your food is ready it comes out. Fast, efficient, and the staff was super friendly. 1 Star. Food - Chip's is known for its poppy seed hamburger buns. While it's pretty and tasty, the most important part, the patty, is pretty average. Honestly, there are many other great burger joints in Dallas. On the other hand, the fried onion strings are a must order for your side. While I wasn't a fan of the burger, the fried onion strings saved my meal. The Oreo and Fresh Banana shakes were also a nice cold, creamy, sweet ending to my meal. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. I hope Chip's never changes. The restaurant has an iconic look, it's part of Dallas history, and the staff is great. 1 Star.

We ordered the fried mushrooms to start, and they were so hot that one of us severely burned her lower gums on them. Seriously! A prescription from the dentist was sought; mea culpa but damn. Once they were less volcanic, they were good. We split a burger with fried onions, and it was dry. The meat was overbooked, the bun was over toasted, and the whole thing needed plenty of beer to go down smoothly. The fries are fine, and we did appreciate that they had some steamed broccoli on the menu. Our daughter was happy with her kids cheeseburger meal, and she did like the chocolate-caramel malt shake she scored at the end. A main reason that we're landing on three stars is the ice cream situation. One of us ordered a soft serve vanilla, and nobody told her that the machine was down, so what she got instead was a cup of half melted Blue Bell soup...are you kidding! Thanks for the prompt refund, but letting your customer know what the situation is in advance goes a long way. So, we tried it. Add a notch to the Dallas belt. We wish them well, but we won't be returning. There are better burgers in DFW.
