As soon as I got home, I opened that tray and went straight for the hush puppies because listen, this lady loveee a good hush puppy lol, and they did not disappoint. I've only had one visit that wasn't perfect, but it was just ONE item, not the whole plate. It wasn't enough to turn me away, and I'm glad I gave them another chance (& another, & another lol) because they've been consistent ever since. The fish and shrimp are always fresh, hot, and seasoned just right. It honestly reminds me of home. If you're from southern Louisiana, especially southeastern Louisiana...you already know the standard... so many places falsely advertise "that expectation of taste" but The Catch meets it. Another strip center seafood destination. It is a walk-up to the counter, order, and bring your order to the table, so service is a moot point. They were fairly prompt in processing my simple order of a four-piece shrimp basket. The shrimp were not butterflyed, and fried whole is more difficult, but I prefer it. They were above average for fried shrimp from a fast-food seafood place. The interior is clean but not really appealing to dine in, and The Catch is too far for me to be a take-away destination. What a find ! Cajun cuisine that is very well done. Discovered today in a strip center at corner of Coit and Campbell- Richardson Started with a bowl of gumbo. Shrimp and sausage with authentic dark rue base. Very good taste. Appetizer was boudin balls that were soft inside and crunchy outside. Large fried shrimp basket came with 6 perfectly fried shrimp, fries, and hush puppies. Warm beignets were a nice way to end our meal. Delicious food at a reasonable price! Great Cajun food that is quick and informal. I haven't dined in, but I've made several pickup orders through Grub Hub. The food is always fresh and hot. Now, I'm a big catfish fan and I've tried the fish here 3 separate ways. Breaded, Blackened and Grilled. While I enjoyed the taste of the breaded and blackened catfish, the seasoning is too heavy handed with the salt. If they would go easy on the salt, these would definitely be five star eats. However, the grilled is perfect and the deliciousness of the fillets really comes through. Squeeze some of that fresh lemon on it and you have *chef's kiss* perfection! I always get the red beans and rice as a side and it's wonderful. Not salty, smoky and just spicy enough to create a little heat but not eclipse the flavor. I also recommend the hush puppies because they are fantastic with their crispness and slightly sweet corn meal. Definitely give The Catch a try. It's a great value for fresh and fast Cajun food. I tried The Catch out recently and loved my experience! I ordered the Captains combo with included 2 catfish, 4 jumbo shrimp, 4 boudin balls, 3 hush puppies and 1 side. For $24 I thought this was a steal. The food tasted amazing and was perfectly crispy. It also came with multiple dipping sauces which completed the meal. I was also able to try the chicken tender basket with catch fries. Both the chicken tenders and the fries were perfectly seasoned and so flavorful! Yummy new fish place just opened February 2, 2024 at the SouthWest corner of Campbell & Coit! It's located down from the gym, a couple doors down from Cindi's. We were warmly greeted and were offered a free margarita or hurricane while we looked over the menu. The margarita was excellent! And it wasn't some little tiny cup either! We placed our order "to-go" and everyone dining in seemed to be enjoying their food. We ordered the combo meal of 2 pieces of catfish and 4 shrimp. It comes with 2 hush puppies. We opted for fried okra instead of fries. Plenty of food for hubby and I to share. The catfish was flaky and had a cornmeal breading. The shrimp were huge and moist with a nice breading. The General manager took the time to tell me about the popular items on the menu and made a few suggestions. She offered me something to drink as I sat and waited quietly until I received my order. I was craving fried fish and I'm so happy we stopped her for a bite to eat. The location was in a shopping center with ample parking. Upon arriving, I was greeted and the ordering process was smooth. There were many table inside but since the weather was nice, we chose to dine outside. There was a lady inside mopping and I was trying to show her my phone through the window that I ordered it on Uber Eats and it said it was ready already, and she just kept shaking her head and pointing at the door, saying to read the sign. So if you're someone with food allergies or a spiritual belief , it is not recommend to eat anything from here that is fried .
