Super cute well decorated spot with delicious food and very fun merchandise! I will say, if you get overstimulated this may not be the relaxing place you need, but it was very fun for the kids to look at things. It's a great interactive experience. It may take awhile for you to get your ice cream since only one employee is there at a time, but it's well worth the wait.

Food:5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Price: $ Service: 5/5 I was visiting Dallas with my friend and was taken The Spelled Milk by a friend who live there. I had the best experience and just made my childhood came true! The owner was amazing and they have thousands selection of cereal, which is crazy to me! Any cereal you ever dreamt about, just ask they got it! The best part is that they made their own ice cream. 10/10 would highly recommend and I will be back!

Shining stars of this place = the wild menu and the friendliest owner I've met in town. They have everything from exotic cereal and candies to a lucky charms cookie dough soft serve brownie split. The ice cream was great. The brownie was more cosmic brownie than homemade bakery. The owner was so kind! Super cool shop inside and out. Only reason I give this place 4 stars and not 5 is because it can be slow. Be prepared to wait! But worth it.

This is my 4th time coming. The first 3 times I came when they were first opening, and the wait times were so long I never got to try them. Decided to try again this past weekend and the wait time was MUCH much shorter. The staff has always been nice, but the lady behind the counter the other day was enthusiastic about her job. We got a vegan milkshake with a cereal and fruit mix in, and it tasted non vegan! There was no nutty aftertaste. I love that they have vegan and protein ice cream options. I was so surprised to see they also have THC ice cream options for those who are 21+. Some of their cereals are grain free, higher protein, and I believe I saw keto. There are games, Asian treats, and nostalgic snacks/toys/beauty products you can peruse while they made your sweet treat. Perfect for all ages!!

This is a super cute ice cream shop. The owner is super friendly. They have an awesome selection if retro and international snacks/drinks. My only concern is that the menu is super long and a little bit confusing. I think a rotating and simplified menu would be helpful for customers as well as speed of service. I love the concept though! Love that they have a retro nintendo and a bunch of board games you can check out while waiting/eating your treats.

this was such a fun concept!! got the cereal flight that comes with 3 cereals, your choice of milk and 2 ice creams. the wait was a little long but i think it was because they hand make the ice cream to what you like go add to it. went on a sunday night and they were really busy!! waited about 40 min. the owners were really nice. i would def go back !

A selection that is so big you wonder if you've even tried cereal before

If you occasionally enjoy cereal, or icecream, step up your game and stop by The Spelled Milk. Honestly I expected to stop in and pick some mediocre novelty like fruity pebbles on a scoop of simple vanilla, like other cereal themed shops I've visited. Instead I had an infinitely better experience. My group talked to the owners about the months of work gone into crafting the crazy selection of cereal from all around the world. A few of them sound similar in the surface, but after sampling 5+ I knew we were in something different. If you haven't been here, stop by and thank me later. My group ended up ordering all different milkshakes and we loved all of them. If you're in doubt, the maple bacon shake is all you need. They opened back in December, and you can tell they they are going to be your new favorite dessert. Whether you pick something new or pick something safe, it doesn't matter cause you picked the right place.

Well well! This was the perfect little date, quick snack, nostalgic spot !! Let me start by saying you could never go wrong with some cereal !! But here you have 100 choices, not to mention they have their signature mixes !! Get this THEY MAKE THEIR OWN ICE CREAM !! And add it to cereal or for milkshakes !! Not only that but there is dairy variety ! Gluten sensitive, keto and all that jazz !! You can even get a protein shake !! Always the ambience as you can tell is awesome !! There's board games to play, the little nes to play ! And a bunch of snacks and goodies !! The service is amazing , they'll tell you all the choices and are super welcoming !! MUST MUST TRY !!

Wall of choices!

Spelled Milk has been on my "Must Try" list for a long time. Not a place I'd pick for myself, but a place I knew my kids would LOVE. What a great surprise. Thankfully on a Friday afternoon it wasn't too busy as we were able to park in one of two spots out front - I'm not sure where else you'd park if you don't get one of these two spots as I didn't really notice a lot or other parking around. It's a bit brighter and more cheerful inside than the outside appears, but the lighting still gives it an "after hours club" feel. Immediately the kids noticed the wall of cereal and were blown away these were just SOME of their choices. The woman working, maybe owner? was so kind and let them know they could try whatever they wanted. We limited our samples to two each and immediatly knew what we wanted. While you can also get ice cream, milkshakes, or get creative with a cereal + ice cream combo, we just stuck to plain ol' cereal with milk. Between the three of us we had (2) Lucky Charms S'mores and (1) Fruit Loops Marshmallows. Since we don't do any sugar cereal, EVER, this was a huge treat and a really fun experience to share with the kids. It was also nice to be able to try something fun and different that isn't your typical grocery store staple. We enjoyed it so much we took an order "to go" for them to surprise dad with later that night. If you enjoy cereal, are looking for someplace different to take your kiddos or friends, or are simply wanting to try someplace new and off the beaten path I'd definitely recommend Spelled Milk.

I took my son to The Spelled Milk yesterday for his 16th birthday. What a cool place with such friendly people. We had a magical concoction of delicious cereals, played Super Mario Bros and a mean game of Uno. It was like going back home to simpler times just eating cereal and playing games. The kiddo even got some free stickers and a donut for his birthday. We will be back for sure!

@TheSpelledMilk first time in and as a fellow cereal lover this place is amazing!!!! Definitely will be back!!

What a neat concept! We loved our experience at Spelled Milk, including the vibes, decor, knick knacks available for purchase, service and of course - the dessert itself! There are a ton of flavors/options to choose from (everything looked amazing making our decision a bit difficult). We ended up going with one of the milkshakes - think cinnamon toast crunch milkshake, with some extra yummy goodness. You can also customize your own ice cream, cereal milk, ice cream sandwich, etc. Bonus points for having delicious vegan options!! There are games available to play while you hangout and enjoy your sweet treat. The owner of the shop is super friendly and ensured we had a great experience. We will definitely be back to try more!

First of all, the Bishop Arts District itself is incredibly charming. Block after block of unique shops ranging from bookstores and bakeries to candle shops, candy stores, coffee spots, and little boutiques. It's exactly the kind of neighborhood I loveeeee exploring while traveling and if I lived in Dallas, I'd probably frequent this area often. As for The Wild Detectives, the concept alone immediately appealed to me...bookstore meets cafe meets bar meets restaurant. That combination will pretty much always grab my attention. I love to read, I love to eat. The space has a pretty relaxed, community oriented vibe, and during my Saturday morning/early afternoon visit, there were plenty of people working, reading, chatting, and hanging out both inside and on the patio. My one slight disappointment was that the bookstore side itself was smaller than I expected and didn't have quite as extensive a selection as I had imagined. That said, I still managed to leave with a few great additions for my ever growing TBR pile. Overall, this was a worthwhile stop and one I may revisit the next time I'm in Dallas.

Traditional Glazed - can't go wrong with a classic, moist and wonderful to eat! Terry Blacks BBQ Brisket and Cheddar Kolache - wowee what a partnership and it was so delicious! It's more yeast like, which I prefer in a donut. New banana coffee donut was interesting, I really liked the crumby part outside but wish the coffee flavor stood out more. Vanilla drink with whole milk - the vanilla shots were strong and should've done oat milk instead. That would make it taste much better Overall, great experience and love the new flavors they experiment with! My thoughts - in the more yeasty-donuts, add a layer of filling inside!
