Came for the water ice after having tried John's in Philly Service was great! They walked us through assorted customizations like 2 flavors in 1 scoop or splitting a 2 scoops into 2 cups (the smallest option comes with 2 scoops- very affordable $7) Tried the passionfruit which was ok and the sour apple which was not very sour. These flavors weren't great but the texture was perfect, I look forward to trying again with more traditional flavors.

She cute but not worth $8 when tax and tip are accounted for

I attended the "So Matcha" event at the So Icy stand on their first weekend. I did ultimately regret going and think there should be some major quality improvement on the matcha project. The banana pudding matcha, which I'd had my eye on, was sold out - no big deal. I got the "strawberry fields" matcha with cold foam. In reality, the matcha was weak, the milk barely even strawberry flavored, and the cup was tiny - pretty much the size of the palm of my hand. It says 12oz, and I didn't bring my measuring cups, but that is NOT the same size as a 12oz at any other establishment nearby. This was the lowest quality "strawberry fields" latte I've tried out of 3-4 different ones in Dallas. The matcha needs to be stronger. And the cup size is, again, regrettable for the price. Lesson learned for leaning into the matcha popup hype!

My friend wanted to try the matcha here so we stopped by. She got a matcha and I got mango water ice. The water ice had a good flavor, was very soft - not icy like a snow cone. The lady at the counter was friendly and helpful with questions. This is located in the corner of a large parking lot, down from the bridge. They do have some outside tables and umbrellas you can sit at as well.

A new spot for frozen treats near the Trinity Grove area. The flavors are mild nothing too sweet or overpowering. The texture is velvety versus icy.

Such a cute little place! Very nice for a cute date night! Texture was incredible and flavors were amazing! The service was quick and the people were super nice! Can't wait to go back for a sweet treat!

Regular - watermelon + pineapple water ice

Flavorful (pineapple was dominant, watermelon was lackluster as a stand-alone) and a good portion for the price (regular could fill 2 ppl); however, this isn't water ice. It's not smooth + filled with ice crystals/chunks. As a South Jersey native, this is the closest you'll get in DFW, unfortunately.

First time visiting and it won't be my last! Great options, amazing service! You have to give it a try.

We actually went to the new Garland location. I am originally from Philadelphia, so I was extremely excited to check this place out, and it did not disappoint. The water ice was delicious. The only reason I gave it 4 stars, their ice cream team machine was broken so we couldn't order a gelato

So I have been wanting to check out So Icy for a minute because my friend has been talking about it, and there is even a tik tock about it. I checked out reviews online and saw the menu, so I had an idea of what I wanted to try. I also noticed comments about them selling out before the end of their posted hours. I think we got there about 7, and we saw a line as we pulled up unto the parking lot they are located in.. it is a big parking lot but it is packed because of their location. As we walked up, we started seeing people walking away...that was because they had used all of their toppings and only had a little bit of mango and lemon left. What I appreciated, though, is they passed out what they had left for free and passed out rewards cards for your next visit. For me, the mango was a little sweet for my taste, but the lemon was more my speed, a little tart, and it cut the sweetness. I will definitely go back so I can get the whole experience. Take my advice, if you want to get what you want, go early!!

This is not true water ice, it lacks in flavor. I tried the watermelon and cheery since most of the flavors were gone. I've never made $5 for water ice in my life. Granted the cup is good enough for 3 people. This establishment can really improve with the customer service as it's overwhelmingly lackluster. We visited the week of the grand opening so there were quite a lot of people coming to check this place out. Upon arrival, there was a huge line and it took us 10-15 to wait until we ordered. We realized that the worker was taking everyone's order who was on line before closing his window to serve 20+ people with no organization. They definitely need more workers to assist with the demand. When ordering, the guy seemed like he couldn't be bothered with people. He didn't greet us or say anything to us. I ordered and he said we don't have that. Nothing on the list was crossed out. I had to play a game of tag ordering other flavors and finding out things were out. To top it off, the menu said $5 for water ice and $10 for a size enough to store in the freezer at home. Instead I got a text that my order was $6. Although a dollar more, some price transparency to customers would be appreciated so I don't feel like I was ripped off. The pick up order process was very confusing. We were all standing around a bit lost because he did not call out any orders or groups. He just held the icee cup out the window and people came up to see if it was ours. It got so ridiculous that our order group of 3 was handed to someone else because he had no insight or cared who ordered first or what anyone ordered.

If you're reading this, you probably saw the TikTok. So let me be your fact-checker. Yes, they're conveniently located off 75, in the heart of Trinity Groves. Yes, it's unlike any sno-cone or slushie you've ever had -- more of a sorbet texture with the flavor infused. And, yes, it's worth trying! But, before you go, you should expect to wait at least 20 mins in the raw Texas heat. If you're smart, you'll arrive closer to sundown and/or bring an umbrella! Also, expect (because of the popularity) for most flavors to be sold out. The price is a bit higher than your average sno-cone or similar experience but, they serve TX-sized portions, so you'll get a nice amount of bang for your buck. The owners are a group of young-ish men from Philly, home of the original ice water, so seem to still be working out ambiance, speed, etc. but, are incredibly kind and offer free water.

Let me be the first to tell you that if you think that you have until closing time to make your way here, you might get here and find yourself disappointed because they will likely be sold out. We arrived on a Saturday early evening and as others have stated it's a small shed with a window to order from but I don't recall anyone ever calling it an ice cream shop. This is ice water, no exactly a snow cone and not ice cream but definitely something nice to have, especially on a hot day. When we arrived there was a small line and folks sitting in their cars or at the tables under the tent enjoying their treat. Folks were quick to let us know that they only had two flavors left so we needed to be quick and they didn't tell no lie. We literally were the last to get what they had and she was literally scraping the bottom of the container to get it for us. The lemon is refreshing and tart, the mango is sweet and delicious. And they left me wishing I had gotten there early to have my pick of flavors. With that said, will I be back? Definitely. They give you a punch card so make sure to get one and have it punched on each visit.

I wanted to give this place a 3.5 but was leaning toward more 4 so I felt generous. To be clear, this is a small garden shed in the corner of a parking lot in the Trinity Grove area. Plenty of parking and a couple of plastic tables with shade (which was greatly appreciated). Multiple flavors were out when we got there and gelati wasn't available. They said they haven't been serving the ice cream for awhile since it was too hot and it kept melting. The service was perfectly fine but definitely a little disappointed that so much was unavailable. I had coconut and my wife had strawberry lemonade. Both were perfectly fine but not extremely impressive. A good status quo Philadelphia flavored ice option.

The kids I've seen working there are kind and patient with people's questions and quick with counting change -- it's cash-only here! This isn't the kind of snow cone stand where you hang out during the day -- you're in a parking lot with no tables and zero shade. This is literally just a little box of a building with a window -- a happy fortress of frozen treats in the middle of an asphalt desert. But people will kinda hang around in and outside of their cars after the sun goes down. I like to get the "teletubbies" specialty flavor which is pina colada and pineapple. I love a coconutty dessert (they have a sugar-free coconut syrup here that's really good). And then of course I like to add a little cream...! It's so summery and delicious.
