The Italian gelato here is absolutely delicious! The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. While the store is a bit small, it has a cozy atmosphere. We really enjoyed the ambiance and charming decor.

Tasty and good portions. Tried the dark chocolate and dulce de leche, both delicious.

Please check this place out! If you like gelato. Well, this a place you must check out. I came on a late Wednesday night and it was pretty empty. Therefore, you might have to wait an awhile if you come earlier during the day with possible one or two employees at a time. However, I'm so glad that I did. I've never seen gelato be placed as a rose with so many delicious flavors. I would come to this place probably once a week if I could. LOL! The place was well lit and clean. Parking kind of limited. However, the experience was not. The employee/chef was very nice and she was very knowledgeable about the products and service. Overall, I can't wait to visit again, and I highly recommend checking this place out.

Amazing quality gelato. Best i ever had. Staff was nice and gave me many samples before i chose my flavors. All flavors were so good and the flavor popped out well

A must visit for gelato, they have so many flavors the combinations are endless. Service is great and getting a cone in the shape of a flower is so fun. Will definitely be back :)

A wonderful place for ice cream and gelato lovers! The place to sit and dine-in is really less. They have a huge selection of flavors for us to choose from and they also provide a free tasting of a few of them. Definitely would recommend this place.

I love gelato and this by far is the best gelato ever! You can actually taste the flavor not so much of the sugar. It is a smooth and dense texture that easily melts in your mouth. Ordering should be easier though. The flavors start at the entrance, but we have to walk to the register at the end, place the order then go back to asking for the flavors. However, the staff is super kind and helpful. The place is small, but feels like walking into a fancy restaurant. Love the decor, love the location, the staff, and the gelato!

We came here on a cold Saturday afternoon joining a long line of other people who know that it is never too cold for gelato. Unfortunately, the shop was staffed with only one person. We waited for at least 15 minutes to pay and then another 10 minutes to get our gelato. Once we got our gelato, we were amazed at the flavors and quality! Between the three of us, we sampled the chocolate amorino, chocolate hazelnut, vanilla, coffee, amerina (vanilla, cherries), and the chocolate chip. All were delicious! The gelato deserves 5 stars! The server managed to maintain her composure with the crowd, but she was clearly overwhelmed and working hard.

Tried this gelato place with my wife for date night. Cute shop with some indoor seating. Good amount of business for Saturday night but service was quick enough. They have this special thing they do where if you order a cone, they will spread the gelato in the shape of a rose, which is pretty. They also have a ton of menu options from ice cream drinks/affogato to ice cream filled macarons to crepes and waffles. My wife and I sampled quite a few flavors. She ended up getting a small cup with blood orange (really good blew us away), passion fruit, and Stracciatella. I got a kids cone with Stracciatella and a chocolate amorino macaron. Most popular flavors were blueberry cheesecake, dulce leche, and caramel. I would say the quality of the gelato is less than Botolino but definitely has more flavors and menu options. I actually liked the Stracciatella flavor here better too. Would recommend and would come again!

Needed dessert after a very satisfying dinner nearby and Amorino popped up right across the street. The shop only had one party ahead of us and while we were looking around, the lady working there told us pretty sternly that we had to stand behind the rope and wait until we ordered and paid until we can see the flavors, which was odd. Nevertheless, we waited until she got to us and we had to pick the size and pay before sampling any of the gelato flavors. I ended up getting a small cup and was able to pick 2 flavors: the chocolate hazelnut and coffee. It was a perfect pair and was so creamy and delicious. Even though the service was questionable, the good quality of their product itself definitely stood out.

This gelato never disappoints. The server was extremely courteous and helpful with the new ordering system. I enjoyed my dessert in the last minutes of the store being open, it was peaceful and quiet. The staff didn't make me feel rushed to finish my food and go. I love that.

Holy moly this gelato HITS!!! They have SO many flavors, such an amazing variety, and each one is executed so well. Even the tiniest cup you get 3 flavors. I am so so happy I tried this place--it's walking distance from me so I fully expect to semi live in this shop from now on!

Dude, yes! I really needed a late night treat and they were the only place that was open late! This place is popular! There was a long line, but it is worth it. They let you pick as many flavors as you want, no limits! The taste was amazing! Every flavor was unique and flavorful! Since it was the end of the day the place looked a bit dirty, but that's what i get for coming late. I do like that they can open the entire front of the store to let the breeze in, it's like the entire wall is a door. The only negative that the employee wasn't too friendly, but again i can only imagine she is ready to go as it was the end of the day. I will 100% come back in the future!

I tried the coffee one and I didn't think it had enough coffee flavor to it. Prices seem reasonable. The service was friendly. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. No need, but do know this: What's da Scoop? serves up better ice cream than... Blue Bell. I know I know, it's blasphemous, and my punishment should be nothing short of burning at the stake for such a claim. Curious as to why? Read on! Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere? First and foremost, let's line up the competition shall we? Yes, Blue Bell is the king of kings when it comes to the Texas ice cream scene, and you can buy it literally everywhere from 7-Eleven to Whole Foods. Additionally, there are some local joints that dish up both Blue Bell and their own treats as well, so let's take a look at who they are: Coolhaus (2 Stars): http://www.yelp.com/biz/coolhaus-dallas#query:Cool%20Haus Tiff's Treats (4 Stars): http://www.yelp.com/biz/tiffs-treats-dallas Pokey-O's (3 Stars): http://www.yelp.com/biz/pokey-os-cookies-and-ice-cream-dallas Obviously, the closest comparison here is Coolhaus in that it's another food truck, but even so, WdS takes the cake when it comes to service. Friendly faces, abundant samples, and quick service. What more could you ask for? Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? So today at Klyde Warren Park was what I commonly refer to as a "spontaneous cheat day" no? I think you get the idea. I classify the day as such because I opted for not one or two, but THREE scoops of ice cream. I simply couldn't make up my mind, and for good reason. What an amazing menu. Yes, Blue Bell can get exotic, but these were unbelievable. Let's hear some of them, with my three selections up top: Haley's Comet: Vanilla + Chocolate Ice Cream with caramel and chocolate covered caramel cups Yippee Skippee: Peanut Butter Ice Cream with chocolate covered pretzels Ultimate Oreo: Vanilla + Oreo Crumb Ice Cream with Oreos Kitty Kitty Bang Bang: Chocolate Ice Cream with Raspberry Swirls, Oreos and Chocolate Chunks Maui Passion: Banana Puree, Strawberry Swirls and Oreos woah. as in... wow. The best part? Three scoops were only $5.95! Is that cheap? Well, no, but it's the same price as my ice cream sandwich at Coolhaus! Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? You know heaven? Or at least the notion of heaven if you're not of the religiously inclined? We'll call it euphoria no? Well here's what you're going to do. Take that euphoria, freeze it, and put it in a cup, because there, ladies and gentlemen, is the only comparison I have to specifically my scoop of Ultimate Oreo as well as the 'Zoreo' flavor that I tasted. As I mentioned, these flavors were right on par with Blue Bell, and the Oreo flavors were even better. Not overly frozen even though I came towards the end of the day, not too sweet, and just the right amount of richness. It's not gelato, so don't expect that, but it's purely homemade and all in all just a great treat regardless of the weather. Dual Stars Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Alas, the elusive fifth star. "But Paul! You've raved on and on!" Indeed I have dear reader, indeed I have, but there is but one problem. While I love ice cream as much as near every puppy I've ever encountered, I also love cookies. At Pokey-O's and Tiff's Treats? I can have my ice cream AND my cookies. So hear me out: If What's da Scoop were to have cookies? I would truly be the perfect dessert spot. In that they don't, I simply can't give the fifth star. That having been said? WdS is a great new addition to the Dallas Food Truck scene, and I have no doubt that they're going to be a smash hit come Summertime. No Star Granted.
