I have driven by a few times and finally stopped in today. Since it has cafe in the name, i was expecting more food options, but its just a coffee shop. The decor is super cute. Very feminine and Mexican inspired decorations. They have normal coffee and matcha drinks with a few less common flavors/mix ins. The ladies we're friendly and service was quick but other than the super cute vibes i didn't feel like they had a lot to offer. They have some conchas and other sweet breads and a few bagel options. I ordered a raspberry oatmilk matcha and the egg & earth bagel to go. The matcha doesn't seem very high grade and there wasn't enough raspberry syrup. The bagel was good, however, i just got a half. Ive never been given half a bagel before and it doesn't specify half a bagel on the menu so I'm kind of confused. The price was $6.25 so you would expect a full bagel. I don't know if it's only supposed to be a half or they just forgot to give me the other half. The bagel was tasty- just odd to get only a half.

The perfect place to read a book or catch up with a friend!…read more I stopped by Wild Detectives for a midday pick-me-up. They have a lot of cozy seating options and a unique selection of books/vinyl records! I got the Brown Sugar Cinnamon Matcha and absolutely loved it! First of all, the Bishop Arts District itself is incredibly charming. Block after block of unique shops ranging from bookstores and bakeries to candle shops, candy stores, coffee spots, and little boutiques. It's exactly the kind of neighborhood I loveeeee exploring while traveling and if I lived in Dallas, I'd probably frequent this area often. As for The Wild Detectives, the concept alone immediately appealed to me...bookstore meets cafe meets bar meets restaurant. That combination will pretty much always grab my attention. I love to read, I love to eat. The space has a pretty relaxed, community oriented vibe, and during my Saturday morning/early afternoon visit, there were plenty of people working, reading, chatting, and hanging out both inside and on the patio. My one slight disappointment was that the bookstore side itself was smaller than I expected and didn't have quite as extensive a selection as I had imagined. That said, I still managed to leave with a few great additions for my ever growing TBR pile. Overall, this was a worthwhile stop and one I may revisit the next time I'm in Dallas.

Located in the Bishop Arts District, this donut shop provides a modern look with some of the best delicious one-of-a-kind donuts that you will ever try. Let's break down the food that I had there shall we? Horchata Donut - probably one of the best I've ever had, very flavorful and delicious! Traditional Glazed - can't go wrong with a classic, moist and wonderful to eat! Terry Blacks BBQ Brisket and Cheddar Kolache - wowee what a partnership and it was so delicious! Vanilla Bean Latte - great flavor, lover of lattes, gotta grab a coffee, what a great choice to complement! Main things to be aware of: the parking, gotta find it somewhere else close by and you'll be good to go.

The bathroom is clean and the self serving water is aplenty. Now for the food - Brisket kolache is great, I will always get this again. Horchata donut has a layer of cream inside which I like. It's more yeast like, which I prefer in a donut. New banana coffee donut was interesting, I really liked the crumby part outside but wish the coffee flavor stood out more. Vanilla drink with whole milk - the vanilla shots were strong and should've done oat milk instead. That would make it taste much better Overall, great experience and love the new flavors they experiment with! My thoughts - in the more yeasty-donuts, add a layer of filling inside!

I highly recommend visiting this place whether you do the tea experience or not it's such a cute spot in Bishop Arts and we got to meet the chef and our waitress, both were so friendly and personable. We went with the vanilla home made ice cream with cinnamon pebbles and home made whipped cream 10/10 combo. The lucky charms ice cream with cookie dough was very rich and flavorful as well. The service was amazing. Micheal gave our two sons stickers, offered us samples of the Mexican vanilla and cinnamon ice cream which were both very very good. The set up and vibe is very cool and laid back. Totally a kick it spot or date night spot for some sweets. We then left together. At no point did I think simply waiting in the car while my wife was inside the restaurant would result in a $97 parking bill from Parking Revenue Recovery Services (PRRS). The signage only indicated it was Cafe Brazil parking, and there was nothing that clearly made me think I needed to register my vehicle just to sit in the car while waiting for a paying customer. This feels extremely misleading and unfriendly to actual customers. To make matters worse, the dispute process is incredibly frustrating. Their website requires agreeing to Terms of Service just to dispute the charge, and when my wife called PRRS, the automated system said she was 115th in line. There appears to be no reasonable or customer-friendly way to contest this without wasting a huge amount of time. This experience left a very negative impression. Businesses should not allow parking enforcement practices that punish legitimate. Checkout Reddit for more on PRRS.
