Came here for a late-night matcha run because my partner swears this is one of her favorite spots -- so I figured let's run it. Glad we did, because this place is actually pretty cool. They've got great murals on the walls and some solid merch for sale that definitely catches your eye. The matchas were amazing, crafted really well and not overly sweet like some places try to do. You can tell they take pride in getting the flavor right. Service was on point. They were patient, answered all our questions about the different matcha options, and never made us feel rushed. The lobby was full of people posted up working or hanging out, and honestly the vibe was not bad at all -- kind of chill, kind of creative, the type of spot you could stay in for a while. There was several moments before I was even addressed after approaching the counter. Two different associates looked at me and did not address me. I had been there about 5 to 6 minutes when the associate finally said I'll be with you in just a moment. I came to order a menu item that was recommended to me, the Banana Matcha Frappe but wanted oat milk. The associate at the counter said that they can't make it with almond milk, which I never said almond milk I asked for oat milk & yet she offered me whole milk. That defeats the purpose of me requesting oat milk. Furthermore after examining the menu, it looks like maybe I should've requested the latte but she never suggested that because I see oat milk as an option with the latte as opposed to the frappe. Used to be super good, they had the best strawberry matcha. They've gone down hill since I came in the winter, and their matcha just tastes like syrup now. The girls working didn't even look me in the face and my sandwich came basically crumpled in a ball, then when I asked for a new one, they gave me the wrong one. I am always on the search for a coffee shop where you can actually do work and this is it. There is plenty of seating, tons of outlets, and bright lighting. They also have interesting drinks outside of coffee or in addition to coffee. I ordered a coffee with a collagen add in (I wanted the focus add in but they were out). The kiosk didn't notify me that it was out, or I would have gotten a regular coffee. I will definitely be back to work for a couple hours while enjoying a hot drink. read more

Came by earlier this morning, my friend had raved about their matcha so I knew I had to try it out. She got the iced strawberries & cream matcha so I decided to try the iced blueberry matcha with oat milk. The blueberry flavor was actually really good it surprised me with how powerful the taste was. There's a good amount of seating options but I didn't see a lot of charging areas. Black Sheep Coffee just opened up in Lakewood and I'm so happy. This is now the second location in the DFW area. The shop opened up today on Sat, Nov 2nd on Mockingbird. There is plenty of parking and a drive through which makes it even more convenient for those on the go. When you enter into the storefront, you're greeted with outdoor seating with umbrellas on the patio. Inside, the coffee shop is very open with couches, tables with plenty of seating. There are a few kiosks throughout the cafe making it convenient when this place gets busy and standing on line is a hassle. Black Sheep Coffee offers food from pastries, Norwegian waffles (even matcha flavored ones!), breakfast sandwiches, snacks and other beverages. I ordered an apple crumble iced latte with is defaulted with oat milk (perfect for when I forget to order oat milk as a substitute). They do offer other alternatives, milk options and syrups. I decided to try the Passionfruit Matcha Lemonade after seeing all the hype online, but unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. The drink tasted watered down, and I couldn't really taste the matcha or any distinct flavors. I'm not sure if I'd order this particular drink again, but I'm still open to trying other options on the menu! The ordering process is you place your order at a kiosk, pay there, and then wait for your name to be called at the counter. I went during the middle of the weekday, and the cafe was packed. It was pretty loud with the music and all the people, so I wouldn't recommend it as a study spot if you're looking for a quiet environment. Also, I was a bit confused about the dome lids on the drinks, but you can request a regular lid if you prefer. My spouse and I visited this brand new location of Black Sheep Coffee during their grand opening. We loved everything about it! The coffee tasted fresh and perfectly brewed. The service was great. They also did a great job converting the building from an old bank to a brand new and unique coffee shop. We went through the drive thru and it did not take long even though several cars were in front of us. I mention this because the car directly in front of us got out of line after waiting for just a few minutes. The line immediately started moving fast after they left. I definitely recommend this coffee shop and look forward to going back! Saw this place on social media and wanted to try it out because I always love going to new coffee shops to try out. This place was great, I loved the exterior, interior, and the vibes. We walked in and already had a drink we wanted to try which was a blueberry matcha (it was so good, I've only really had a strawberry matcha, but the blueberry in this was delicious and paired very well with the matcha). We decided to get a few other things and they were all pretty good. The service was great, when we were sitting they didn't give us plates for our food order so they personally came by and handed us plates which was so nice cause that meant they were aware of everything in the store. One of the workers was so nice and offered us the caramel mocha frappe to try because she was also working on making drinks. A great new spot with seating inside and out, in a variety of styles, and plenty of charging stations to stay connected while indulging on a beverage and pastry. They have ordering kiosks or you can order directly at the counter (while drooling over the display of pastries) or if you're in a hurry, they offer a drive thru. Their prices are comparable to or better than the more well known competitors with better quality, IMO. I ordered a non-fat decaf mocha (hot). The only thing I couldn't get here that is available at another competitor (but not the mermaid) is a sugar-free option. This company is world-wide so if you're a traveler, like me, you may be able to get your fix while wandering the planet, LOL! read more

Worst coffee experience ever. So based on my digital receipt, I ordered at 8:25am. They have a tv screen on top where you can check your order status. I think maybe it took 20-25 min or so to receive the iced americano & my half grilled cheese sandwich, which isn't that bad. At this point, our order #063 was at the top of the screen. I was still waiting on 1 more drink item- the iced strawberry and cream matcha latte. Anyways, grilled cheese sandwich has almost no cheese. See my picture. It's a thin 1 cheese layer (I took bites out of it already btw). So I'm waiting for my last drink to be made, and then out of nowhere my order #63 dropped to the bottom/last order on the tv. We were annoyed but decided we will still wait. It got to the top eventually and then it dropped again, but to the middle. It was busy in there too so that was really annoying. I would wait again but for all I know, the my drink could drop for the 3rd time.. which I wasn't going to wait around for considering I've been there for 35 minutes already. They're trying to make everyone's new orders before mine. Anyways, just order something basic and never order a matcha! Or don't come at all. I asked for a refund which was a simple process, but I was surprised they don't even offer to make it at that exact moment on the spot.
