The orange creamsicle cold brew was surprisingly delicious and the sea salt dulche de leche and french toast latte are a MUST. I do wish there was an option for half sweet on DoorDash but regardless we love it. I love that you can get a bagel egg and cheese the size of your face (literally) and they use premium ingredients. As someone who genuinely enjoys visiting coffee shops, I came in with high expectations, but unfortunately, this experience was disappointing. I barely drank my beverage. I only tasted a little of the whipped cream and a few chocolate pieces on top. It was advertised as having a mild spicy kick, but I didn't taste any spice at all. To me, it just tasted like milk, whipped cream, cherry syrup, and a shot of espresso. I was expecting a richer chocolate flavor, a better balance with the coffee, and the subtle heat that was advertised, but it completely missed the mark. The shop itself is very small, and in my opinion, having a DJ in a coffee shop doesn't create the right atmosphere. The music was so loud that it made it difficult to have a conversation or even communicate with the staff. On top of that, my drink was handed to me with noticeable spills, which wasn't a great first impression. The food was actually what attracted me to this place because of all the positive reviews. However, when I ordered the avocado toast, I was told it would take about 20 minutes. For a coffee shop with more than five employees working at the time, I found that wait to be unreasonable, so I decided not to order. I've visited dozens of coffee shops throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, so I have plenty of experiences to compare with. Unfortunately, this one did not meet my expectations in terms of quality, service, or atmosphere. That said, I do want to give credit where it's due. I had been wanting to try Killer Joes for a while and it did not disappoint! I went on Sunday after church expecting a normal coffee shop...nope! I walk in to a DJ playing an ABBA remix and it was so fun! I ordered a matcha and my husband ordered a latte and we also got some food and it was all really good! For 2 large coffees and 2 breakfast sandwiches it was close to like $48-50, so I wasn't planning on that when I walked in, but honestly it was all so good and really fair portion sizes so I was happy. I had the SOS and it was packed with flavor and super filling! They have a few tables inside, a small patio outside and seemed like it was mostly a pick up and go spot...but we found a place to sit and eat, it's also dog friendly- we had our pup in the car and they said he was welcome in!
