Mushroom Vegetables, Mushrooms and Tofu Steamed Dumplings (6PC) ()

The space for Uptown Dumpling has been many restaurants through the years, but this one - Uptown Dumpling is by far the best one! Let's start with the interior. Gorgeous! The designer put much thought into the details is this space. Tucked away a booths, warm interior, rich colors, and it doesn't stop there. Their to-go bags are beautifully designed. For the first time I was excited about bringing food home just because of the bag. We didn't have reservations so we sat at the bar - and it worked out well. Our bartender/bartender was delightful, engaging, offered excellent suggestions, and stay on top of our service the whole time. Such a pleasant experience. The food - delicious! We ordered the veggie spring rolls (cooked to a perfect crispness), mushroom dumplings (my first time to order dumplings and I loved them!) and chicken chow mein - delicious! This was such a great experience overall I look forward to coming back!

Delicious food+ value = home run! This is our new favorite Chinese restaurant. The food was spectacular, and service was outstanding. Our waitress was so attentive and genuinely very friendly. Off in the distance, I could see hostesses working hard to make sure everything was running smoothly. I saw a lot of people come in from our table, so the restaurant filled very quickly for early dinner. Interior decor looks nice but only complaint about the atmosphere was A/C seemed to be blowing full blast on a not that warm day so it was colder than I would've liked and this made the food get cold quickly. The food was too-notch! We started out with the Pork & Shrimp Xiao Long Bao- the soup dumplings. They were delicious and perfectly chewy. Very satisfying texture and taste. For an entree, I had the Sichuan Dandan Noodles. These were absolute perfection. They are handmade noodles that had a perfectly springy texture. It comes tossed in a creamy sesame and chili sauce which was culinary bliss. I am very sensitive to spicy foods, so I asked to have this modified to be mild and it was fine. My husband got the King Pao Shrimp. He loved it, and it looked amazing, but I didn't try this dish based on the heat level. I seldom drink sodas, but I didn't try order a Sprite and it was served cold without ice- somehow, this was the best sprint I've had in a very long time and the carbonation was excellent. Overall Uptown Dumpling was solid in nearly every regard. Definitely coming back here soon!

Walking up, even from the outside you know you are going to a beautiful place. Walking in is like walking into another world. Tranquil music plays lo over the radio as your eyes adjust to the other world experiences you are about to have. Relax, soak it in, and enjoy! We quickly learned upon checking in that reservations are strongly recommended if you wish to sit in the dining room. Not knowing that, we opted to sit at the bar where there was immediate seating available. The bartender Emmanuel, has FANTASTIC people skills and made a great experience even better! I am learning that sitting at the bar has advantages when it comes to dining out because it is hard to beat the personalized service a great bartender gives to you. We ordered Veggie Spring Rolls, Mushroom/Tofu Buns, Japanese Fried Rice with Shrimp, and Chow Mein with Chicken. Everything was so good, it's hard to choose which one was my favorite, but I will say that even with the smorgasbord that was in front of me, I kept gravitating to the Shrimp Fried Rice. It was nothing short of amazing! This place is a definite 5-Star and excelled in every aspect I could critique them on!

Uptown Dumpling is now soft-opening in the former Tian Tian Dim Sum space, and the transformation is impressive. The restaurant has had a full facelift--both inside and out--and now feels like a beautifully upscale dumpling spot. During our visit, we were seated at the bar. Emmanuel, who handled both serving and bartending, did an excellent job--friendly, attentive, and professional. The front reception, however, could benefit from a bit more warmth and service-mindedness. As for the food, it was wonderful. The Peking duck is a must-try, and the taro bun is equally memorable. We're definitely looking forward to coming back soon.

I really wanted to like this new place. I made a reservation for 5:30 PM on Friday night. Since it's a new location, I was hoping to get the feel of the ambience of all that work they put into the construction, instead, they put us in a room of four tables with no ambience with nothing exciting and a set of people at one of the tables that were on their phones constantly on video and loud. As for the food, we shared the Wagyu beef and truffle dumplings, which were too salty, the Mongolian beef dish, which was great, and the beef and broccoli dish, which was very bland. I will say the second Star I gave because of presentation. Everything comes out in nice dishes and they really spent a lot of money on paper goods to make things aesthetically pleasing. Again, I wouldn't know what was going on in the dining room because I never got to see it. Our server did a good job. My advice to the management is that if you have somebody who has made a reservation to come experience your restaurant put them in the dining area, if somebody is a walk-in, put them in those little rooms that look like bedroom rooms. I was very disappointed at that. I will not be returning. And unfortunately, I've already had friends who asked me about the restaurant and I already told them what I thought.

Service wasn't the best but food was good. The decor is stunning! Absolutely love the ambiance. I ordered the Taiwanese beef noodles and portion size is huge!!! The dish came abit luke warm to me but if they made it hot, I'd enjoy it more. Still, it's a delicious bowl of noodles. I would order it again and epic for $15 only! The huge xlb was also delicious but a little hard to eat. Still, I'd order it again.

One should've been soy sauce but no they're vinegar. No warnings...

Came for dinner with the family for the first time. First thing is the decor is nice and the staff friendly. I did have an issue with the condiments in that they have soy sauce and vinegar bottles on the table. Unfortunately both had vinegar and I doused my noodles with it thinking it was soy. I brought it up to the attention of a manager who just took them away and didn't come back to rectify my disgusting plate of food. The waitress asked me if I wanted her to ask if they could do something about it. Well hell, why do I have to ask when you should automatically make it right? I declined because I didn't want to be viewed as a scammer. Needless to say that I don't recommend this restaurant. Oh and the reason I needed to add soy sauce is because the food was bland. I had loaded it up with chili sauce but it was still insipid. Expensive and underwhelming lacking customer service.

Food and service both are above average. We shall come back again. Peking duck and shrimps were my favorite so far. Soup dumplings were juicy and will try again next time!

Best soup dumplings of dfw! I've been on the hunt for the best ones. The soup dumpling doesn't tear when you pick it up and the ratio of meat and warm soup is perfect. The dough doesn't feel soggy at all. I recommend: Xiao long bao Truffle Xiao long bao Crispy shrimp Short Rib Scallion noodles Pecking duck Ambiance is nice, perfect for date night or bringing your entire family. The family tables feel private. Presentation if food was definitely thought out. Our server was sweet and very attentive! I went during their soft opening and didn't get the full menu. I'll post more recommendations when I am able to return!

Scallion Noodles

A new restaurant, but by no means lacking in experience. With a well-decorated chef as its foundation, you can tell it's aiming for Michelin level service and quality. The ambiance brings you into a different world, setting the tone for the cuisine journey you're about to embark on. Service was quick. We ordered the greater jasmine tea to begin our immersion, and it did not disappoint. Neither did the food, as we ordered: Wagyu XLB - a nonnegotiable Cucumber salad - fresh reset for your palate Uptown spicy chicken - VERY LARGE PORTION. Great for a sharable with the kids. Not as spicy as it looks. The flavor soaks in the longer it sits Pan Fried shrimp dumpling - delicious, must get Wonton soup - lightly flavored and soothing, served in a large bowl Scallion noodles - needed a kick, added chili oil which enhanced flavor. Large portion and good for sharing Uptown duck Half - love how thin the bao sheets are, allows you to eat more without feeling as full. Duck is delicious, its skin caramelized. Cleanly presented With the flavoring profile for certain dishes, given time they will improve. Their "signature" baos as they are will be a strong contender against Dragon House!

Went in March during their soft opening. Normally I would be very graceful about this period. But if you're going to claim a Michelin star (which they don't have) on all the server's sleeves, you're asking to be judged to a higher standard. Unfortunately, uptown dumpling was nowhere near the standard. The recurring theme of the night : high expectations, underwhelming experience. Food: 4 stars. XiaoLongBao: 8.5/10. Currently the best in town. The dough is a little thick, but clearly they took the execution of this dish seriously. It's not DTF, but it's the best we've got in DFW. Mouth Watering Chicken was good, not as spicy as it looks. Sweet and Sour Ribs were good. Beef noodle soup: complete disappoinment, basically noodles in water. The rest of the dishes were meh. Service 2 Stars. 1 extra star was given because of the soft open period. The service was atrocious, especially with a Michelin star on everyone's sleeves. The hostess was unenthusiastic and didn't greet any of the customers. The service was ridiculously slow. At a certain point, we tried to ask the waiter walking by to see if we could have two bowls of rice. He told us he cannot take any orders, only for me to watch him take the food orders of the table next to us right 2 mins later. When we were leaving, 4 tables were just sitting empty with no customers and only dirty dishes. Did I mention everyone has a Michelin star on their sleeve? Ambiance/remodel: 2 The remodel tries to elevate the ambiance over the old Tian Tian decor. (I would guess this was a $1MM+ build out). The problem: you're serving FAST CASUAL FOOD. This is NOT a Michelin star tasting menu, you're serving the same food as Shanghai Taste and WuWeiDin!!! The tiles in the mens bathroom is already scratched up. You spent so much money trying to make this place look nice but if one person has stomach issues, 100% of mens toilet will be occpied... This owner has more money than common sense... Will return in a few months to see if they've improved, if they are still open...

I recently visited Uptown Dumpling and overall had a very enjoyable dining experience. The standout dishes were definitely the mango walnut shrimp and the Sichuan-style beef -- both were incredibly flavorful and well-prepared. The xiao long bao were impressive as well: large, juicy, and filled with a generous amount of rich soup inside, exactly what you hope for. The roast duck was another highlight -- very authentic and delicious. I also really enjoyed the chicken soup, which was deeply flavorful and comforting. Some dishes were just average, such as the hot and sour soup and the assorted cold vegetables, which didn't stand out as much as the others. The service was excellent -- attentive, friendly, and efficient, which made the overall experience even more enjoyable. Overall, most of the dishes tasted great, and you can tell there is solid quality in the cooking. The only downside is that the portion sizes are on the smaller side. That said, it's still a great spot for tasty dumplings and classic Chinese dishes, and I would definitely come back to try more items.

Uptown Fried Rice Cake

I was excited to see a new Chinese place open up in Dallas. I had a friend recommend me to come here and try the food. When I first walked in, the place was very luxurious. I will say they renovated the place to be very nice, and inviting with tons of tables for big parties. The service was good, the servers were attentive and recommended their favorite dishes. I had the fried rice with the fried pork, it was so so so DELICOUS! This was a table favorite, and I'm definitely getting it again. My other favorite dish was the uptown rice cake, the favors mesh very well in my opinion. I will be coming back again with some friends! I'm gonna try the Peking duck next time, looks good! Thank you Uptown!!

The food came out piping hot and super fast, within 5 minutes our table was full of dishes! The stars of the show were the siu mai, the Baked BBQ Pork Buns and the Steamed BBQ Pork Buns. The siu mai was packed with fillings and it was so good, might be the best one I've ever had. The Baked buns were good but the buns might be a little too heavy. However, the steamed buns were so airy, light, and fluffy. I've never seen a bun that fluffy, it was like touching a cloud. It was still good when we reheated it at home, too! My boyfriend also loved the chicken feet, it was packed with flavor and very juicy. On the other hand, the soup dumplings were okay they didn't have any soup in them. The shrimp har gow wrapper was really thick, making it not as good. The tofu pudding was delicious. It's silken tofu with sweet ginger syrup, usually served with chewy balls but they didn't have that here. It was served hot and it was my childhood so I had to get it :) It looked like a lot of food but the bill came out to be around $50+, which wasn't bad given that we had a lot of leftovers for the day. I would definitely come back here!

We opted for one order of white rice and one of fried rice with our entrées. The restaurant is almost always packed if you don't have a reservation, but the vibe is relaxed and casual without being loud.
