Probably our go to dim sum place in the DFW metroplex at the moment. Extensive dim sum menu and a la cart menu as well. Nearly everything we tried, we really enjoyed, with the exception of the jelly fish. It's mixed with seasoning/sauce that I'd say is kimchi adjacent but still lacked flavor. It needs a splash of sesame oil and some salt (and MSG) and I think it'll be ok. Portions are good from the a la cart menu and dim sum is definitely shareable so you can try different things. It's not quite a hole in the wall but almost is. Service is ok over all, but I don't care because the food is good.

We were craving Peking duck and this hit the spot! I love the thin wraps but like the buns too. They are more filling. The Peking duck was very crispy, maybe post fried ? Very crunchy and we loved it. The price did go up a bit within a year (about $10). Did not have to put in a pre order. They had enough for the day. The 2nd dish for the duck bones was a pickled mustard saute. It was okay. Had a spoiled taste to it. Maybe it's the fermented pickled leaves. They also do all day dim sum to order. It was good! Wished I had ordered more. My husband loved the salted pepper tofu. It had a good crunch. Could be a tiny bit more salted. Overall good dinner! We hardly ever come here but will frequent here again.

This is a local dim sum favorite and we're regulars there. We value the rolling carts, however, inconsistent arrival times mean we don't always experience it which is ok. The food is reliably good. It offers a consistently satisfying selection. We especially enjoyed the durian pastry. Its comes in 3 rich, creamy and completely perfect flakiness make it the best. Their other pastries are always fresh and delicious and we enjoy trying them as well. The service sometimes feels rushed during peak hours; however, this is part of the "hustle-bustle charm of a dim sum restaurant". A visit is worthwhile, especially for several pastry enthusiasts or a sizable group of them.

Loved the traditional dim sum cart service here (Saturday morning visit). The menu was pretty vast. We enjoyed the traditional and popular dishes (shrimp dumpling/har gao, shui mai, etc.). The beef chow fun was good! Overall a pretty lovely dim sum place! Don't let the exterior deter or scare you! The inside is much more kept than the exterior leads you to believe!

My family likes Garden restaurant and goes there every now and then. They are known for their dim sum (which is also very good). My uncle from California was in town for a single day so we all decided to come here since they had a promotion for a free lobster if you spend $100. They have a huge space and it wasn't that busy on a Sunday night. We got the Chinese broccoli with garlic, pan fried eggplant stuffed with shrimp, beef with string bean, soup dumplings and xiu mai from the dim sum menu, beef flat noodle, Mongolian beef, and string bean with salt pepper tofu. I loved both of the beef dishes. The beef flat noodle came out first and it was the perfect starter. The beef was tender and noodles were chewy and full of char. The beef dishes were so tender and paired well with the string beans and onions. I LOVEDDD the eggplant dish. Eggplant was steaming hot and chewy, filled with shrimp goodies inside. I loved pouring its sauce full of black beans over my rice too. The Chinese broccoli with garlic was a perfect vegetable dish to pair with our meal. Salt and pepper tofu... what more can I say about that, it's a must get. The dim sum dishes and lobster were just ok. The soup dumplings had no soup and the lobster was not that meaty, but it was free haha. Our servers filled drinks regularly and are pretty funny too, they got jokes

Large, traditionally-styled Dim Sum dining room! We came too late on a Saturday for Dim Sum carts, but the employees said they do have them during peak hours. The dim sum plates are very reasonably priced and the food came out fast after ordering. The taste and quality of the food were excellent, especially for the price tag. We'll be back to try their duck.

Tip: Come Saturday afternoons and try to avoid this place on Sunday afternoons. You will wait 1+ hour on Sundays. I'm not quite sure why this place had only 3.5 stars. For me this place was 5/5 for everything. This is one of those old school dim sum places where it's straight forward and you order what you want. The staff was so sweet and were really enthusiastic in recommending good dishes. The dishes themselves are either Vietnamese style or your typical Chinese style. I recommend ordering something else besides the dim sum. The chefs made AMAZING crab fried rice (it's made viet style).

Came here for dim sum and it's pretty quiet at lunch time . So everything we ordered came out instantly . The quality is decent but not exceptional .

The dim sum at Garden Restaurant is comparable and some dishes are even better than my usual go-to spot Kirin Court. Which is to say, it's one of the best spots for dim sum in Dallas. The only negative was that the service was a bit slow and we had to wave down servers even though it wasn't that crowded on a weekday lunch. One of the dim sum dishes we ordered came out 10min after we had finished all our other food. Unique must-try dish: Durian Puffs, deep-fried thin pastry filled with durian cream. It looks a little like a crispy fat caterpillar with all its segments. Durian is notoriously stinky but this dessert didn't smell that strong and several of us who had never tried durian before enjoyed the dish. Cons: Not as nice inside and slower service compared to Kirin Court. Pros: Durian Puff which I haven't seen anywhere else. Reasonably priced.

    Eggplant w/ Shrimp

Ended up here via family when in Dallas (or Garland to be exact). Apparently this is a go to spot for them so we let them do the ordering. I was a little iffy based on ratings and by looks of the place. We walked in at luckily not a busy time on a Saturday afternoon. (I did my homework with reviews and most negatives were related to service so... still promising?) To add to the ambiance there was a 20 person party of gentlemen drinking beer and whisky, cheers-ing, singing in another language, obviously celebrating something... or who knows - maybe just having fun at dim sum. Much to my surprise everything was tasty but wanted to shout out to my faves: Eggplant w/ shrimp - speaking to the eggplant in general - you always make me ponder at how to cook you. I always feel you're hard and then all the sudden soggy and mushy and hard to tear a bite off. This place had you down. Back to not speaking to a vegetable lol - I've never had an eggplant with a perfect medium cooked consistency that you could bite easily and eat until this day. And the shrimp in the middle of the eggplant bite - nice contrast. Added tip, the sauce on this dish is worth saving to put on some white rice. Seafood Fried Rice - delicious! Perfectly seasoned with umami seasonings (not just "soy sauce") and seafood included calamari and bay scallops. Could have eaten the whole platter of this. Fried Fish - don't usually like my food looking at me but... The fish spoke for itself. Perfectly thinly battered for crunch and even better had a clean fish taste (not sure how to explain not fishy without saying not fishy since technically it is a fish). So.... teaches me not to judge a book by it's cover. Shout out to my Dallas family for a place well picked.

The service and ambiance was ok for a Chinese restaurant with Vietnamese influence. We had dim sum during lunch on a Sunday and it was not overly crowded. Out of all the dishes that we ordered, I liked less than half of them, but their durian puffs were exceptionally good. Other than that, I really liked their century egg porridge and chicken feet. I would visit again just for the durian puffs.

Really good dim sum! I have been here many times! A staple is chicken feet. Good dim sum needs great chicken feet, and it's exactly how I had hoped it would be! Sweet, soft, and tasty. The stir fried noodles are great too. All of the shrimp dishes are really good-shrimp balls, shrimp rice noodle roll (cheung fun). If you are expecting service all the time (like how in American restaurants) you won't get it but the food trumps service. There are a lot of people so you will have to wave someone over if you the food from the little carts or need more water/tea. We got too much food so the lazy Susan couldn't spin, but the food is great and my stomach is filled. Everything smells good and will definitely come again!

    The aftermath.

Just like being in old San Francisco. Food was amazing, car service the whole 9. Will be back in a heartbeat!

The food came out piping hot and super fast, within 5 minutes our table was full of dishes! We were a small party so we only tried some dishes: Shu Mai, Shrimp Har Gow (eh), Chicken Feet, Steamed BBQ Pork Buns, Baked BBQ Pork Buns, Soup Dumplings, Fried Shrimp Balls, and Tofu Pudding for dessert. The stars of the show were the siu mai, the Baked BBQ Pork Buns and the Steamed BBQ Pork Buns. The siu mai was packed with fillings and it was so good, might be the best one I've ever had. The Baked buns were good but the buns might be a little too heavy. However, the steamed buns were so airy, light, and fluffy. I've never seen a bun that fluffy, it was like touching a cloud. It was still good when we reheated it at home, too! My boyfriend also loved the chicken feet, it was packed with flavor and very juicy. On the other hand, the soup dumplings were okay they didn't have any soup in them. The shrimp har gow wrapper was really thick, making it not as good. The tofu pudding was delicious. It's silken tofu with sweet ginger syrup, usually served with chewy balls but they didn't have that here. It was served hot and it was my childhood so I had to get it :) It looked like a lot of food but the bill came out to be around $50+, which wasn't bad given that we had a lot of leftovers for the day. I would definitely come back here!

It felt like your standard Cantonese restaurant with mediocre food. Service: 3/5 - it was again good, but not great.
