I was scared when I saw two stars reviews full of people complaining about the $5 tofu being too expensive because it's cheaper at Doan restaurant. Listen, yall are haters. $5 isn't even a lot and there's enough portion. Doan used to sell this but they don't anymore, it's so hard to find tau hu so I'll be happy to pay $5. I can't make this myself. I used to get it from Doan for years and yes it used to be $3. Also you need to consider rent post covid is high. Mr tofu is post covid and Doan has been in that spot since I was in high school and I'm in my 30's now. Of course they're able to charge less, their rent is probably less. I got dry pho ga and goi ga, both were bomb and reasonable in pricing

$5 tiny cup of tofu

Retro decor with simple country side vibe. Nice friendly service but way over priced for sub-par dessert. $5 for a tiny cup of tofu, way too overpriced. (Larger cup can be bought across the street at Doan's for $3)The quality is not even close to the pre-made tofu dessert that are available at the store.

So good! We got the Com Ga Xoi Mo and the Tofu Pudding w/ egg foam. The fried chicken was so delicious, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, the chicken was huge as well. The soup they gave was a chicken pho broth and it was good but a bit too sweet (probably MSG). The tofu pudding was delicious, the top was like creme brulee and the egg foam was so creamy. I'm not sure if it was worth $8 though since they gave you so much ice. I wanted to try the tofu pudding that had che Thai toppings but it was $15... Service was good, and the inside was so clean and spacious. Food is on the more expensive side given that they were located right next to Hiep Thai market (the cheapest Asian market out there!). You should give them a try though!

2nd visit: Came back to try more dishes. The fried chicken with rice was really good--crispy, flavorful, and satisfying. However, the egg noodles and chicken broth were only room temperature when served. They kindly offered to reheat it, but unfortunately they microwaved the entire bowl, which made the crispy chicken soggy. That felt a bit careless and took away from the dish. 1st visit: The restaurant has very cute decor and a welcoming atmosphere. They're known for their chicken dishes, and you can tell the quality is high--free-range and well-prepared. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The only small miss was that they forgot the salad sauce.

Chicken Noodle Soup and Banana Blossom Salad are the highlights here. Both dishes are flavorful, fresh, and among the best we've had. The dessert, Tofu in Ginger Syrup, is a rare treat that is difficult to find anywhere else in the area, making it a must-try. The service is warm and friendly, with a welcoming family-kitchen atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. A great spot for authentic, comforting food.

This is not Sài Gòn style PHÁ Lấu/ this chinese style $19 .

I was really excited to try what they advertised as Saigon-style phá lấu, but it wasn't authentic at all. It tasted more like the version served in Chinese restaurants. The food came in a deep to-go bowl with only a tiny portion at the bottom, which looked very unappetizing. My bowl was mostly tongue meat, so I couldn't eat it. Definitely not worth the $19 price tag.

Price is very steep for just chicken plate around Garland area. The food is mediocre and portion is not that big.

Came here for the bánh ít ram while my sis came to visit me. We actually had bánh ít ram in Vietnam…read morebefore and loved it, so I was really excited to see it on the menu. It's a Hue specialty, so it's not something you can find at just any Vietnamese restaurant. The bánh ít ram was good and I would order it again. It wasn't the best I've ever had, especially compared to what we had in Vietnam, but it was still good enough to satisfy the craving. Definitely worth trying if you're a fan of Hue food or bánh ít ram! A bonus about this restaurant is that the service was really great and everyone was just so sweet. The restaurant was also well kept and nice.

We had a great experience at Goc Hue and really enjoyed trying a wide variety of dishes. We ordered…read morethe gỏi cuốn, bún thịt nướng chả giò, bánh ướt thịt nướng, bánh khoái, bánh bèo chén, bánh ram ít, bánh lọc gói lá chuối, bánh nậm, and sugar cane juice. Everything had a very authentic, homemade feel, and it was nice to find a place that offers so many Huế-style and Central Vietnamese specialties. The small dishes were especially fun to share, and the sugar cane juice was a refreshing addition to the meal. Overall, Goc Hue is a great spot if you enjoy Vietnamese food and want something beyond the usual pho or banh mi options. We would definitely come back to try more of the menu.
