Not your typical push cart dim sum restaurant so you miss out on that experience (peeking under the steaming lids and seeing what piques your interest in the moment). These are the items I tried and my rating out of five stars for each: Char Siu Bun - 3 Shrimp Dumpling - 4 Beef Siu Mai - 2 Truffle Shrimp Siu Mai - 3 Spareribs - 4 Chicken Feet in Abalone - 3 Chicken Feet in Oyster - 4 Ginger and Scallion Omasun - 1 Pineapple Bread - 5+ (must get!) Crispy Shrimp Balls - 5 Chicken Potstickers - 3 Turnip Cake - 1 Chinese Broccoli - 5 Salt and Pepper Tofu - 4 Indonesian Fried Rice - 4 Aw man... Just realized I ordered the Golden Chicken but didn't receive it. I need to adjust better to these inflated food prices as I think they are too expensive for dim sum. I won't come back here but I will give Tian Tian a try soon.

Chicken feet. Need I say more? Beautiful color. Great flavor. It's a no brainer why it's a restaurant favorite.

In summary, Li Min Dim Sum is a relatively busy establishment with impressive dishes that check the boxes for taste, texture, and detail but also tries to match how hard they hit with the bill. Definitely falls in the "average looks" in terms of establishments that I've been to for Dim Sum. I'm intrigued by the wooden "steamed boxes" they're using, so thats a positive. If you've read one of my reviews for Dim sum before, you guys know that I firmly stand by what I say about judging places' quality based on the execution of their Har gao/shrimp dumplings, and I'm proud to say that theory still holds true. Their Har Gao is slightly sticky, easy to peel from the serving plate, firm in its shape but soft and slightly gummy on the chew, and is definitely above average in terms of looks (and I am so sad and so sorry that I didn't get a picture for you guys). It's a great Har Gao and you would be missing out if you didn't get it. Solid Xiu Mai. I think service could definitely be better. They seem to be short on waiters and you'd be lucky to even find one sometimes. I hear getting an English speaking server can be an issue sometimes and I do validate what other reviewers have said on that note. If I remember correctly, I paid my bill up at the front because it was "so busy," but possibly understaffed. Bang for buck, Is it worth it? Hard maybe; I want to give it a 3.5... but definitely don't want to round up to a 4. I think if the service was really good, their price could be justified and an easy bump to a 4-star. But I could easily find myself going somewhere slightly subpar and save 30-40% of my wallet. Plus. I live in Houston, TX, so perhaps it's not a fair reference for Dallas locals, but hey, woah, chill--I said it's one of the better Dim Sum places I've eaten at. I wish I could try more of my usual favorite dishes and give a more detailed review but our scope was limited to try and accommodate a new guest in our party so I couldn't go too, too crazy. P.S. Ambiance was... fine? The tables are not too close, so conversation was easy to maintain without having to yell. Tables and booths aren't anything to fawn over, but the food looks and tastes great. Cheers from HTX.

We tried a new dim sum place this weekend, Tian Li Min Dim Sum, which is the sister restaurant to Tian Tian Restaurant (amazing Peking duck!). This place is a little different, it doesn't have dim sum carts walking around, and all dishes are ordered through the menu. This is good, as the dishes are freshly prepared (to the extent possible). The prices are a bit higher than usual per dish as well. We enjoyed the experience, but did not think the food was as good as our usual dim sum place (Kirin Court). A lot of the dishes lacked enough seasoning, and so we had to add more salt or chili oil. I think we may also ordered the wrong dishes. I saw a family share a large seafood soup with crab and shrimp that looked amazing, we might try that next time. Also saw some better looking dim sum dishes at neighboring tables. I think we would return for the congee and the fried shrimp balls, those were delicious. We might try some other dim sum dishes than the ones we ordered this time. Service was great and the premises itself was modern and welcoming.

Spareribs were greasy, gristly & fatty, not appetizing at all. Xiao long bao was ok, the skin was a bit thick. The congee was fine, nothing memorable. Service was non-existent.

Fresh dim sum with big size shrimps, delicious fried shrimp ball. The services are depending on how busy they are. They have robot for serving as well. It was smaller than Tian Tian their sister restaurant on the corner but good atmosphere for family lunch.

Stopped by Li Min with a group of 14 after church on Sunday morning after hearing about it from friends and through Facebook over the past several months, and we all had a great time. We arrived around 10:45 and explained the size of our party and the staff were super accommodating! We ended up taking over three booths in the center of the restaurant. The interior was super nice, the AC was powerful, and everything was very clean. The classic dim sum experience is rowdy and raucous, aunties bustling by pushing carts piled high with tins and steamers, and I love that experience, don't get me wrong, but there's something really nice about being able to mark down everything you want and have it made to order and hand delivered directly to your table. My table of four ordered a bunch of items to try and received them all in a quick and timely manner. Standouts for me were the stir-fried turnip cake (such a different type of presentation from traditional turnip cake, but I loved the aromatics and bean sprouts, and the fact that the way it's cut up into smaller cubes gives you more of the best texture of turnip cake, which is the crispy exterior), the durian pastry (they look very homemade, but the pastry crust was wonderfully flaky and the filling was very durian flavored without being too in your face about it), the golden lava buns (perfectly gooey salted egg yolk interiors!), and the stir-fried chow fun. Steamed spare ribs with garlic were also flavorful and delicious. The pork and century egg congee portion size here is relatively small, and they don't give you a ton of century egg, but the meat quality is definitely better than usual. The shrimp dumpling and truffle shrimp shumai were solid, but you do need to season with soy sauce or vinegar for more flavor. There were some misses: the others at my table didn't care for the chicken feet in abalone sauce we ordered, saying that the flesh was curiously difficult to pull off from the bone. The swan taro puffs did not come with the swan neck sticks, as pictured. Since the place fills up pretty quickly, water service can be a little slow. Also, be aware that quite a few of the filled fried dishes (taro puffs, shrimp tofu skin rolls, haam seoi gok) include cilantro in the filling, so ask about that to be sure before you order. All in all, it was a satisfying meal, and I'm looking forward to coming back to try other things on the menu in the future!

My friend and I arrived around 11:15am on a Monday morning. There were 3 tables seated down already. I saw 2-3 servers just standing around looking at us standing at the counter. No one greeted us nor sat us down. We waited about 5 minutes til someone came and sat us down. I don't ever expect great service at dim sum restaurants because if you know, you know. We went here due to a recommendation. This is not your typical dim sum restaurant where there's people pushing carts around. The food came out piping hot and there's a robot cart that brings out food too. The food is mediocre. The chicken feet and spare ribs were a little bland. The soup dumplings were dried, literally NO soup. They could've cut the Chinese broccoli. On top of that a lot of stuff wasn't available, maybe because we came on a Monday. Oh well. Ambiance overall is nice but was a little stuffy. Would I come back? No not really. Food: 3/5 Service 3/5

Dim sum was good. Seems all are made in house...which is a rarity in the States now. The service was attentive, the lady came by multiple times to refill our glasses and clear any dishes. Fo Plano, and N Texas, this is above par for Chinese restos. The interior is fresh and modern, actually thought out. As a Chinese American, I'd grown up visiting plenty of dim sum houses in Chicago, SF and NYC. This is a definite repeat: for the cleanliness, the freshness of the dishes and even the service. Only place I didn't check is the bathroom...hopefully it's similar to the restaurant decor...and clean!

Went to Tian Tian last night with my mom & on the way inside noticed Li Min had the same logo. We tried to order soup dumplings at Tian Tian but they were sold out, so decided to see if Li Min had any after dinner. This was my mom and I's first time trying soup dumplings but I must say we were underwhelmed. I'm sure it had to do with the one we ordered, but they were much smaller than we thought they'd be & really didn't have much soup in them. The flavor was also meh, nothing unique or exquisite about it so we were kinda bummed. I will come back to try other things on their menu, because they have quite the variety of authentic cuisine, just maybe won't order their soup dumplings.

It was fun to see a new dim sum restaurant pop up in our area so we definitely wanted to try this new place out opened by the same owners of Tian Tian in the same shopping center. The decor is inviting with modern and clean styling, which is a nice departure from the typical older bustling dim sum restaurant. While the waitstaff were friendly and helpful. We ordered some of our dim sum staples including chicken feet, charsiu bao, crystal shrimp dumplings, preserved egg porridge, changfun, haam seoi gok (aka what we call "Hey Arnold's") and scallion ginger tripe. Execution of the chicken feet, tripe egg porridge and charsiu bao were on point with great seasoning and textures, while the shrimp dumpling and chanfun were lacking due to poor texture (maybe due to being over cooked or the recipe for their dough). The Hey Arnold was too dry and hard on the outside and the filling was a bit too sweet. So how was the bangforbuck-o-meter? They had nice chopsticks, high quality paper napkins, as well as nice Tian Tian branded wooden box steamers, so all of this added expense seems to have been priced into their menu items. I'm thinking each dish is $1-2 over priced compared to the quantity given (especially with the chicken feet). I hope they work out their growing pains and continue to improve their execution and pricing.

Service can be slow... we had to wave down the waitress multiple times to get simple items including the soy sauce dish and spoons. The dishes on the other hand were decently good. Our favorite were the pork ribs. Dim sum could have been better. Lot of the dishes had light seasoning so we needed a lot of the Chinese vinegar and soy sauce. A great stop for dim sum and authentic Chinese dishes!

So far, we have been here 3 times. Chicken feet in abalone sauce, crispy shrimp ball, shrimp cheung fun, swan taro puff and golden lava bun are our favorite. Tips: Get there before noon on weekend to avoid the line. Went there on a Tuesday and it was closed, check the hour.

Environment - Nice and clean Dumplings - Skin is too thick so the texture tasted like you are eating a glob of jelly. Also, all of the dumplings were pretty bland. I hate salty food and I can even take up eating steam vegetables without any salt so when I say it's bland, you can imagine how bland this is. Chicken Feet and Tripes- Good enough Fun Roll- Not bad, but compare to Guangzhou or Hong Kong it's a long way to go but considering that this is Dallas, it's pretty decent Haam Seoi Gok- Texture is too dry and hard but flavor was gold enough. Sticky Rice - Good ingredients they even added fry scallops but the flavor is a bit bland. Egg Custard- It was good but not great or anything standing out. Overall, food wasn't bad but definitely mediocre and nothing stands out much from the other dim sum places around here other than the added unique items like black truffle and scallops.

But the reviews were suspiciously glowing, so curiosity (and hunger) won. We pulled up and I took one look at the building: older, unremarkable, zero curb appeal. Classic "meh." Inside, several large round tables with lazy Susans, red tablecloths, and Chinese lanterns. They first sat us in a booth but I requested later on to be moved to a large round table since we ordered A LOT. But back to when we first sat in the booth - As a Chinese woman, the second I spotted the older seats with ripped upholstery, it hit me like a culinary prophecy: this place was going to serve me some incredible, authentic Chinese food. I don't know what it is, but there's an inverse law of Chinese restaurants: the less fancy the exterior (and the more the booth looks like it's survived several natural disasters), the better the food. Apparently they skip Instagram-worthy renovations and put the budget where it belongs--on the plate! This is now hands down in my top 3 favorite Chinese restaurant in North Dallas - I can even say it's on the very top. I haven't forgotten about the staff. They deserve 10 stars. Super nice!

We ordered the crispy cucumber salad, xiao long bao, and the dry-fried string beans. The dry-fried string beans were my favorite. The string beans had a delightful crisp texture and a flavorful taste. The cucumber salad was also good, but some parts were a bit soggy. The XLB skin was too thick and chewy, and it didn't taste like the usual soup dumplings, which was disappointing. I was excited for the duck, but I was honestly disappointed when it arrived. The portions were quite small, considering it was a whole duck. It wasn't carved tableside, which was a letdown. Some parts of the duck were dry, and the skin wasn't crispy enough. To add to the disappointment, they charge extra for almost everything. If you want more pancakes or their homemade duck sauce (which tasted like black bean sauce), you'll have to pay an additional $5. Another thing to note is that they are BYOB, so you can bring your own alcohol. However, the menu pictures on Yelp are outdated, and they only offer whole Peking duck, not half orders.
