The restaurant is very nice and clean in side. Friendly customer's service. We ordered couple dishes, all overall is good: 1. Egg coffee, nice and smooth 4/5 2. Garlic water spinach: still green and crunchy: 4.5/ 3. Bun Bo Hue: every ingredient is cooked perfectly, the meat was very tender, only the broth needed more umami flavor, feel like they did not season enough of lemongrass and fermented shrimp paste and the spicy of chili 5/5 for ingredients, but 3/5 for the broth and it is not hot enough in temperature 4. The sizzle steak is fine, but the steak is cut in too very small pieces, which lost the sweetness of the meat 3.5/5 I over looked another table, and people order more family style dishes, maybe we need to try it next

The restaurant is very beautiful and clean. I ordered the crispy fried chicken rice, and for just 15 USD I got a delicious meal with a whole chicken. The food was truly excellent. If I ever have a chance to visit Carrollton again, I will definitely come back here to eat. This photo was taken when I had only eaten half of the fried chicken, and I was already full.

I just tried this place for the first time and it was a great place for anyone craving classic Vietnamese or Chinese dishes. I got the BO NE which is steak and eggs, pate and some veggies on a sizzling plate served with a baguette so you can dip into all the delicious juice. The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs and helped give recommendations. It looks brand new or recently remodeled, if your in Carrollton definitely stop in!

Carrollton was in need of a solid Vietnamese restaurant although Kin's is a more of a mixture of Vietnamese and Chinese. They have a really large menu -- if you're the type to just focus on Americanized Chinese food like orange chicken or kung pao chicken then please expand your palate and try something new here. They have so much variety, so many options for noodle based dishes. If you're in the mood for a comforting, home-cooked Vietnamese meal then Kin's has got you covered too. I got their sweet and sour catfish soup AKA canh chua, salt & pepper squid, 1/2 roast pork 1/2 roast duck, and their combination crispy noodle. Everything was pretty solid. Honestly my husband and I were overwhelmed by the menu because there was so much we wanted to try but somehow narrowed it down to 4 dishes. We still didn't finish but we will definitely come back to try other dishes. Very spacious and clean restaurant!

This place was good overall. We wanted to try some pho and bun bo hue. The bun bo hue was pretty good. It would have been better with mam tom or xate but it was still good without it. The pho was okay. The broth wasn't special. They had a deal on crawfish and the size and flavor was yummy! The service was a 2/5. There was lack of communication and it was slow.

Highly recommend the roast pork noodle soup!! The flavor of the soup was rich, deep, and had good aromatics. The garlic and scallion added a lot of depth to an already strong soup profile. I would ask to have the roast pork on the side so it can retain its crisp!!! It is super crispy. I also enjoyed the coconut drink. I liked that there was real coconut flesh. Highly recommend Kins restaurant :) This was our first time here and we will be back!

We got the ca kho to (caramelized braise catfish), garlic water spinach, and crab soup (bun rieu) and all were SO flavorful delicious! We will definitely be back to try more dishes. The servers are super attentive and I appreciated that (: Interior is very clean and decorated nicely

Kin's Restaurant is a Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant in Carrollton that serves legit Vietnamese cuisine along with Western influenced Chinese food. If you're craving your Aunt's Vietnamese signature dishes but don't want to drive to Arlington or Garland, come to Kin's. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Kin's is in a strip mall alongside many Asian own businesses. Inside is pretty sparce with some LED lighting on the wall. But it has one main feature which is a good sign - It was busy and full. Full of Asian diners. Right then I knew it was going to be good. 1 Star. Service - There's really two parts to the menu. The front section has the traditional Vietnamese dishes. The back section has western influenced Chinese dishes. If you're looking for something legit, choose from the front. Better yet, go with a with someone who speaks Vietnamese so he/she can converse with the servers. Our server was nice, but she tried to upsell us to some dishes we weren't interested in 1/2 Stars. Food - I really liked Kin's. We ordered 3 dishes and ate family style. The chicken wings with Nuoc Mam were the star. Super plump, piping hot, and had that distinct Asian flavor of Nuoc Mam that reminded me of home cooking. The catfish in claypot was also great. The caramelized sugar added a nice sweetness to the salty fish. Be careful and avoid eating the sharp bones or oily fish skin. For our vegetable dish, we went with Stir-Fried Water Spinach with Garlic. Just like mom's recipe, water spinach is quickly stir-fried with garlic, oyster sauce, and a touch of sugar. This home cooked meal was worth paying for. 1 1/2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Carrollton is noticeably closer to my house in Irving-Las Colinas than the Vietnamese restaurants in Garland and Arlington. Kin's is legit, and when I'm craving some of that home cooking I know where to go. 1 Star.

Service was not the fastest and I had to flag someone down several times for water and the check. Restaurant was not even half filled so that was disappointing. The food was delicious though. And the portion size was worth the price to me. I would recommend this place for the food. But advise that people in a rush go elsewhere or give yourself more time.

Really good catfish dish here, highly recommend unless you don't like small fish bones in your food! Only place I've found here in Dallas that sell it and makes it well. I don't like small fish bones and even I liked the dish, just eat slowly and you'll be fine. Ambiance is pleasantly neat and modern, I would definitely be coming back.

    Ca kho tho - good
    Linn P.

Been craving some viet food, especially co kho tho. Since it's just me liking this, and not a family sharing, I couldn't get the canh chua with it. The pricing for both is hefty so I only ordered this. The braised fish is good. Flavor is there. Could use some more caramelizing. Color a bit light. But overall would get it again. Our friends had the pho and bun bo hue. They were okay. My hub got the chicken and broccoli dish which he loved. Seems the rice plates are the way to go.

    Jacqueline L.

Came on a friday night for dinner with my family and it wasn't crowded at all. They renovated the old First Chinese BBQ spot and it actually looks like a cute date spot. We ordered the beef flat noodles and it actually had the wok hei. The beef was not the best as they didn't use the best cut of meat so some pieces were extra chewy and some were alright. The crispy pork was actually seasoned well but the skin was very thick and actually quite difficult to bite. I did see that they had specials for their pho: buy 2 get 1 free so I feel like I would come back to give that a try. When you are done with your meal, they don't bring you your check. You have to walk to the front to pay at the cash register.

First and last visit. The food was not good at all, poorly flavored, and in some cases inedible. The suon thit kho was so salty it was bitter, and the canh chua tom tasted off, likely from old shrimp. For the price, this was extremely disappointing. Service was fine and the place looks clean, but the food alone makes this restaurant one to avoid. Map Kitchen is a far better choice.

Pork lard rice - disappointing, bland Pork intestine with green mustard - this dish was okay.. Crispy garlic salted fish - fish was nicely fried and flavor was good. Probably the best dish so far Crispy pork chop - this is the reason why we came here.. we wanted to find a dish like May Ice cream. Unfortunately, this was a huge disappointment. The pork chop was extremely salted. From the skin to the pork itself. Walnut shrimp - this dish was foul. Who puts sprinkles on the side?! Tasted like I was eating an ice cream shop. The shrimp was also dry. Overall, not worth going and waiting. Food was lacking.

The Singapore noodles had this wonderful curry flavor that I absolutely loved, and the combo fried rice was just as satisfying. We also ordered the Peking duck (P1 on the menu). It was good, though not quite as flavorful on its own as we'd hoped. That said, once you load it up with the hoisin, cucumber, and spring onions, it all comes together beautifully. The bao buns that came with it were soft and delicious, honestly a highlight. We also sipped on hot jasmine tea throughout, which was the perfect, refreshing complement to the whole meal. A solid spot with great vibes, tasty dishes, and room to grow on us even more with a return visit.
