Braised Pork Belly in Wooden Bucket
    Khanh T.

First time here on a Monday night, my Chinese friend wanted to try this place to see if it's good. We got Braised Pork Belly in Wooden Bucket ($19.99), Steamed Pork Belly w/ Bun ($21.99), Hunan Stir-Fried Pork w. Chili Peppers ($16.99), and a duck soup. We ordered all entrees but none of them came with rice, rice costs $1 extra for each person, which is weird because rice always comes with these for free at other places. Our favorite dish was the Stir-Fried Pork with Chili Peppers because it was the perfect amount of saltiness and the peppers made it spicy. The Braised Pork Belly was ok but really salty, and it had a hint of sourness too. The pork belly with bun was good and the pork was really juicy, my friends loved it but it wasn't my favorite. We ordered a lot but the portions were really small so none of us was full. Also the prices here were insanely expensive for the portion sizes. This place would be worth to try if you're craving a very specific Hunan dish, but not worth if you want family-style. Service was eh.

Best food on the planet, my new favorite restaurant. This Hunan restaurant is next level from every other Chinese restaurant I've been to. My go-to is the Mongolian beef and garlic sauteed bean leaf. That Mongolian beef has a spicy cumin flavor, not like Mongolian from other restaurants

Nice clean decor, food was legit, flavorful (exceptional of soup dumpling, skin too thick, flavor was mediocre) other dishes were flavorful. I especially like the spicy crispy pork intestine. Tea was hot, service was .... Typical Chinese restaurant servers

So glad we have more Chinese options in Carrollton now. The wait can be a bit long especially on the weekends but the staff is really good about getting tables cleared pretty quickly. The menu is quite extensive and there's a good variety of everything. Portions aren't as large as some other Chinese restaurants in Plano but decently sized. I really liked their eggplant with green beans dish. Super flavorful! Definitely recommend checking them out if you are craving Chinese food and are in the area.

As we were waiting, we noticed that 4-5 tables were done eating and paid their bills. All got up and left, the staff quickly cleaned the tables. The cleaned tables were empty for another 15 minutes. The lady that took our names down took a while to call the next customers. Seems like we were waiting just to wait...she sat one party down and waited another 10 minute to sit the next group... anyways, after we waited for a good 40 minutes, we were finally called to be seated. Sat down and was immediately served with water and took our order down. Time for the food review: Chicken popcorn - nice crisp and texture, but lacking flavor. Felt like it needed a dipping sauce. Pork lard rice - disappointing, bland Pork intestine with green mustard - this dish was okay.. Crispy garlic salted fish - fish was nicely fried and flavor was good. Probably the best dish so far Crispy pork chop - this is the reason why we came here.. we wanted to find a dish like May Ice cream. Unfortunately, this was a huge disappointment. The pork chop was extremely salted. From the skin to the pork itself. Walnut shrimp - this dish was foul. Who puts sprinkles on the side?! Tasted like I was eating an ice cream shop. The shrimp was also dry. Overall, not worth going and waiting. Food was lacking.

They have a seasonal symphony set menu and you can get a main and add a soup and a side to it for different pricing. Overall it makes an amazing meal! I love the eggplant salad which is more like fried eggplant with garlic soy dressing which is out of this world! I also love the braised pork chop and it comes with kai lan for a nice meal. First time I went I got free dessert which is probably because I had my toddler with me . Overall I enjoy this place. Their menu isn't too big but the quality is there. Some dishes I didn't enjoy so much was the braised pork rice, actually. It's not bad just not my favorite.

This place is absolutely made for a group outing, and we're already planning to come back with a group to take full advantage. The food was a delight. The Singapore noodles had this wonderful curry flavor that I absolutely loved, and the combo fried rice was just as satisfying. We also ordered the Peking duck (P1 on the menu). It was good, though not quite as flavorful on its own as we'd hoped. That said, once you load it up with the hoisin, cucumber, and spring onions, it all comes together beautifully. The bao buns that came with it were soft and delicious, honestly a highlight. We also sipped on hot jasmine tea throughout, which was the perfect, refreshing complement to the whole meal. A solid spot with great vibes, tasty dishes, and room to grow on us even more with a return visit.

It's a self service restaurant, but enough tables to also sit down and eat. The staff was really kind and helped me throughout the entire night, guiding me through the process. It's similar to other malatang places, where you pick your own ingredients. The only thing is any meats you'd want is already in a smaller bag on the side, with a fixed weight. I'm assuming it's for sanitary reasons. The per pound price is a bit higher, but it's justified- the flavor of the stir fry was really flavorful, all the ingredients are very fresh. The sauce bar was extremely disappointing.
