Amazing lunch experience. We were around that area was super hungry found this place via Yelp .... We were craving for Dim-sum which they have few options but we managed by ordering other dishes from the menu. We ordered Jasmine tea while waiting for our food which didn't take long- Xiaolong Bao - Pork & Shrimp Har Gow- Shrimp dumpling Radish cake recommended by Hongxi our sweet & kind server Beef rice flat noodles Fish fillet in spicy Chilli sauce Everything tasted delicious we loved all the various flavors . We couldn't finish all so Hongxi helped us to pack-it to have it for dinner. The dumpling are more Shanghai style. Restaurant was decorated nicely it was clean & everything was managed very well by the staff. Parking is in front & back. We had a great experience at lunch here! Came in just before noon and we were among the first to be seated. Hongxi was our server and she was the most courteous and friendly person we have met I a while. From her we understood the cuisine here was more Shanghainese style . All the dishes we ordered were prepared fresh and dim sum were served was fresh and prepared very well! The new dis we tried was the Shredded Radish Crisp which was fried and served piping hot! We both loved it ! The main dishes too the Beef flat rice noodle and the fish in spicy soup both were very good. There was an ice storm, and my friend was really craving Chinese food. China Queen ended up being one of the few places open. We ordered our food to go, so I cannot comment on the service, but the interior looked very nice and welcoming. We got the orange chicken, string beans, and salt and pepper fish. Each dish came with a box of rice, and they also included soy sauce and fortune cookies, which was a nice touch. The food was solid but a tad greasy. I did Uber Eats and ordered from here. I was craving some braised pork belly and saw they had pig trotters too. I haven't had any since I was a kid and my dad made them. So I just had to try! I definitely wasn't disappointed. Both the braised pork belly and trotters were definitely cooked right. Very tender and just the way I like it. Both had a soy ginger taste to them which was very good. I also got chicken egg rolls and they were pretty good as well. The fried rice was okay I've had better. Service in the beginning wasn't the best, but they definitely noticed and more than made up for it near the end of our meal. I came here with my parents, and they've come many times before so I'm always eager to see what new Chinese restaurants they go to because they're so picky about the taste and authenticity of Chinese food. This place is really delicious. Literally everything we got was so flavorful and authentic, and I think this may be one of my new favorite Chinese restaurants. They also offer BOGO soup dumplings on Tuesday, and I noticed that many people came in to take advantage of this deal. On April 25, good friends held their "rehearsal" dinner at China Queen for romantic reasons because that is where he proposed and where she was first encouraged to get on a dating app by the people who worked there and that's how they met! They had 3 adjoining rooms for us with big tables. There may have been around 30 people total. They brought out many different types of foods from soup dumplings, to crispy duck, to mapo tofu with crawfish! The crispy duck and crawfish dishes were my favorite! I've never had crawfish in a Chinese dish before and it was kind of like a Chinese gumbo! I learned later that the type of Chinese food they serve here is not spicy. I like spicy, but many of these dishes I found to be very flavorful. The service was a bit slow as I don't think they were fully prepared for such a large crowd with their regular guests also in the main eating area so we had to wait a bit long between dishes. The women's bathroom had a leaking toilet which I informed one of the staff people about so hopefully they fixed it as it would be dangerous if someone had slipped in there. I look forward to coming back again when I'm in the area when they aren't so busy and try more things! And I'll see if they have any chili sauce. :-) read more

I have never been to the restaurant, but we order from here via uber eats often. Love their food! Best egg rolls I can find anywhere. The vegetable chicken is delicious and I love the sautéed string beans! I have also had the human chicken, king pao chicken, sweet and sour chicken and black pepper chicken. All delicious. The vegetable friend rice is really good. The handmade dumplings are special. I have only had the chicken and shiitake mushroom so far, but they are divine! The texture and flavor is just as it should be. The only thing we have ever ordered we didn't care for was orange chicken. The sauce was a little different than what we expected. Alphabet Date C. I felt like dim sum and we were in the area so I looked for a spot that started with a C and here we are. It's a lovely restaurant. The ambiance was really nice, clean and quiet. We were greeted and seated really quickly at around 11:30am on a Saturday. Our server immediately gave us water and edamame. He was quick and came by often to fill our water. We ordered hot tea, pork XLB, salt & pepper squid, hot and sour soup, and sweet and sour spare ribs. The winner was the pork XLB. The salt & pepper squid was tough. I wouldn't order that again. I also really liked the hot and sour soup, but how do you really mess that up? The sweet and sour spare ribs were also pretty good. My second visit here but didnt realize it until I walked into the dining room. It was so-so years ago when I visited and it was too late to find something else so I stayed. I def ordered wrong! This place is known for its dumplings, which was plain to see by what other patrons were eating. What would posses me to order veggie dumplings, I don't know. I've never had a spinach filling I didn't like. These were not very good at all. They were filled with a bland spinach mixture and flavorless. We visited on a Tuesday for their buy one get one free soup dumplings special. The dumplings came out quickly. The dumpling skin was delicate and held the soup well. I liked them a lot. We ordered the orange chicken, sizzling beef, and Chinese vegetable. The food portions were large and tasty. The restaurant was cozy, clean, and quiet. They was a steady stream of customers coming in for takeout orders too. The service was friendly and attentive. They brought us a small dish of edamame while we waited. Great place for Chinese food with lots of delicious options. The xiao long bao and lion's head meatball (pork meatballs) are yummy. I really liked the braised duck, which was on their specials menu I believe. There was a lot of tender meat and the braising sauce was flavorful. The steamed fish with veggies was delicious too, with tender white fish and an assortment of vegetables. The staff was kind and I enjoyed the experience. It was sweet with huge cubes of very tender pork with just the right amount of fat. The sauce was sweet and savory. Was it worth $78 -not imo. I would have just liked this without the abalone. The cod fish was at market price and the day I came it was $49. It was a THIN slice that had a hint of ginger flavor. It wasn't terrible but definitely not worth the price. We have been driving from Plano to Carrollton several times a year to eat at the China Queen. Tonight we were greatly disappointed in the quality of the food. My husband and I both ordered soup and the noodles were absolutely terrible, they tasted like undercooked pasta. We always order the Pineapple Chicken and tonight the chicken seemed like it was not as good a quality of chicken, and it was overcooked. I understand restaurant owners trying to save money by cutting back on quality, but I rather pay another dollar or two to have a descent meal. We did speak to the manager to let them know our concerns. We walked in at 7:30 on a Friday evening and the place is only 25% full, but every other table still had food and dishes on it, like the guests had just left, but they stayed like that for at least 15 minutes. I came here for lunch with a friend because I had heard so much about it. This was our plan B because we didn't know Fat Ni was closed today. Well the place was nice enough, but the food was mid. We asked the guy bringing the water what was good, and we got those items. The Xia Long Bao is full of flavor and the egg rolls are good. The Crispy pork buns and the I think it's called Shanghai special (sticky rice) was mid. I wouldn't go back. Oh my friend said the bathroom wasn't clean. My wife and I arrived for an early dinner on a weekday and we were the only ones in the restaurant for about 20 mins. Although we were there an hour after their published dinner hours, we were made to feel like we showed up too early. Not unfriendly but not friendly either. We ordered the XLB with crab, flat noodles with beef, and the snow pea leaves. It's hard to appreciate the size of the XLB in the picture but they were the smallest ones we've ever had. We also thought they were priced too high for the six small dumplings in the tray. Even Din Tai Fung locations, which usually occupy some of the highest rent districts, is a much better value. The taste was decent, although we didn't see or taste much crab. The beef flat noodles were average in taste. The noodles had a good texture and the beef was decent but the dish was too sweet overall. The snow pea leaves were excellent. There was plenty of it and the vegetables were nicely sauteed in garlic. This was one of the best we've had in some time. The jasmine tea was so strong that we could not enjoy it until additional hot water was added to the pot. Overall, the meal had potential to be very good but fell short. It certainly did not live up to the hype for us. read more
