The lamb was succulent and had a nice flamed taste. The chicken was also excellent and flavorful. The Taiwanese sausage was heavily spiced and really good. The lamb noodle was a little on the greasy side but the noodles were bouncy and chewy while the flavoring was good. Sliced lamb a bit dry but okay. The chicken skin had a nice texture and not as fluffy as pork skin but easier to chew. The cold potatoes gave the food a nice balance. The eggplant was juicy and flames grilled. Loved it! We came on a weekday around 3pm and it wasn't very busy so we had friendly service. The server was likely also prepping food so he took a while to close out our order. I visited here since I arrived too late for KBBQ in this general area and tried a few skewers: lamb, pork belly, quail and chicken heart, as well as their beef noodle soup. The soup arrives at the table first. It's hot and delicious and the noodles tasted pretty fresh. A handful of beef slices were included in the large bowl. Next out were the skewers and they brought these out in phases with the pork belly and quail coming out last. My favorite was the lamb as I love the seasoning and flavor of lamb skewers, no matter what restaurant cooks them. Stopped in because we were nearby at a Yelp Elite event and we were hungry. It was late afternoon on a Sunday and we were the only diners. We were greeted promptly and friendly as we walked in and were provided a small pitcher of water and some edamame as we sat down. We looked over the menu and decided to stick with the skewer offerings and added the smashed cucumber salad as an appetizer. The salad was delicious, but we really have not ever had a cucumber salad we didn't like. We're just cucumber folks. For the skewers we selected lamb, beef, beef tendon, shrimp, pork belly, bacon wrapped mushrooms, scallops, a choy, Chinese buns, and as a last minute edition, lamb kidney. We try to order something we've never had before when the opportunity presents itself and in this case the beef tendon and lamb kidney were our "new" selections. Over all the smashed cucumber salad was the best part of our meal. All the meat skewers were over cooked and the Chinese buns really didn't have any flavor (but they were a nice texture). I ended up dipping them in the dressing of the cucumber salad. The a choy and bacon wrapped mushrooms were are next favorites. The pricing was less expensive than other Asian skewer restaurants we've been to, but we wish the meats had been prepared better. The food here was honestly so good. I thought the price for the food was honestly not bad. What's crazy is that I didn't even know there was a sauce bar until after finishing most of our skewers but it was so good without it that I definitely have to some again for the sauce. I do have to say the chicken here was SUPER tender. The chicken in the noodle soups just melted in my mouth. I got the Spicy and the Regular but the spicy one was so good. Even the noodles were fire! The only thing we didn't really like were the Chinese buns because although it had that chargrilled taste, there was also a burnt taste that was super prominent. The buns were bad but they weren't as good as we thought they would be. The service was good and honestly the skewered came out pretty fast! Came here for lunch on a Wednesday and it was basically empty. I really enjoyed just about everything! I got the lamb, beef, chicken, pork belly, mushroom, and Chinese bun skewers. Everything is seasoned with the same dry rub that is very cumin heavy (which I usually associate with Hispanic food rather than Chinese so it was a surprising flavor but good!) I definitely recommend exploring the sauce bar they have to dip everything in. The highlight for me was the Soy Bean Paste noodles which were actually recommended by my server. They were insanely good with some ground beef and veggies. The bowl is either a giant meal for one person or good to share with the table. The lowlight was the beef noodle soup. The broth was not super flavorful and it was more noodle than meat or mushroom. The place is nice inside! And our server was great I appreciated his help navigating the menu and all the food came out very quickly. It was also extremely reasonable for the price. Prior, I would go to Fat Ni BBQ with people who are not adventurous eaters. However, I made a new friend who is a huge adventurous foodie just like me! He did all the ordering. To start off, the food is a 5/5 for me. My sister would argue otherwise but I really like this place. The issue is with the service. There is one older lady who works there who is extremely rude. My mom and I went to eat here after a long flight back from Chicago, and when we got seated we had to wait so long for a waiter to come over to us. Interesting and good introduction to Chinese BBQ. Had a large selection of meat skewers, noodle dishes and breads. While some things were better than others, all things were great. While we ordered everything up front, it would have been nicer if the skewers were brought out over time instead of in large groups. It ended up that many were cold by the time we ate them. There was a portable grill on each table but, if it was intended to keep the skewers warm as I had seen in some YouTube vids, that was not offered to us. Some of the meats were very difficult to remove from the skewers especially after they cooled. My favorite was the lamb. The kidney, heart and gizzard were less enjoyable than expected. Noodles were unique. Preferred them in the soup rather than dry / stir fry. The Pita Bread preferred over the Chinese buns. Smashed cucumbers were tasty. My friends and I came around 4 PM so it wasn't crowded at all, inside is spacious with multiple table seatings. The menu has various skewer options, noodles, rice, and drinks. Each table gets complimentary edamame beans. We weren't too hungry so we order 1-2 skewers per person. I got the chicken heart skewer ($2.50). Great flavor and lots of options! Lunch seems to be a good time to visit if you're looking for quick and personalized service. The waitress was super nice and gave great recommendations based off the fact that I came with a non-Asian friend. The Oyster Mushrooms and A-Choy are always a must. You can't go wrong with the Beef Skewers or Chicken Heart either. The skewers have a great smoky flavor and they grill to get it crispy. The Pork Belly was a bit too crispy for my taste, it got dried out. The other weak point was the Lamb, which I found cooked well but underseasoned. We also ordered half a braised chicken and some other skewers for a total of ~$75. A bit pricy, but still okay. DFW does Chinese BBQ skewers well, and this place is no exception. This place can add up quickly so be mindful on your choices. Do you really need 4 skewers of pork belly? Yes. Actually, my absolutely favorite skewer was the tendon. When done right, tendon just melts in your mouth and has almost a sticky consistency that I love but I know it's not for everyone. The hardest part about ordering so many skewers is eating them while they're still hot. Because once they cool off, it just doesn't taste as good. The only complaint I have is that everything was really salty, including the bowl of noodles that we ordered. Again, the noodles were hand cut and delicious, but also a bit salty.
