We went on a Saturday, 15 minute wait and our server was supposed to be their server captain. Cut sizes were smaller, which was expected in today's economy but she burned all our food. No apologies, no asking how we wanted our short ribs prepared. She didn't bother to refill sides when asked and it took her more than 45 minutes to get water for us. She kept serving another table and talking to them, ignoring us even though we were right next to them. Burned our food, burned our plate, kept the flame up too high. When I took over, she would walk back and turn the flame back on high. Expected a full tip on top of that. Worst service I have ever had at an Ari location. Avoid this place and ensure their server captain stays away from your table. If this is how they train their staff, would not recommend it. read more

Unacceptable Service, and a Gratuity Calculation That Deserves Investigation Ari Korean BBQ had been one of our favorite restaurants and a place we chose for special occasions. On July 3, 2026, we brought a party of 13 to celebrate our daughter's 18th birthday. After the way this evening was handled, this is now a one star review. I ordered the same meats for both sides of the large table. The servers working our side were excellent. They were friendly, attentive, cooked our meat promptly, refilled the side dishes, and kept everyone's water filled. They did their jobs well, and I gave them an additional cash tip to recognize their service. The other side of the same table received a completely different experience. The servers were inattentive, repeatedly passed that side of the table, and failed to cook the food within a reasonable time. Our side finished cooking and eating, yet approximately 40 minutes later, the final plate of bulgogi on the other side had not even been started. The raw meat sat uncovered at room temperature for approximately two hours. I finally asked for the manager, Christina, and explained what had happened. She offered no apology, discount, replacement food, or meaningful solution. Instead, she gave excuses and made accusations. Regardless of server assignments or how the restaurant divides its tables, half of our birthday party had finished eating while the other half was still waiting for the same food to be cooked. The billing issue made the experience worse. The receipt showed: Subtotal: $449.00 Tax: $37.04 "20%" gratuity: $97.21 Total: $583.25 Twenty percent of the $449.00 subtotal is $89.80, not $97.21. Ari calculated the gratuity using the subtotal plus the sales tax. As a result, the mandatory charge labeled as 20% was actually approximately 21.65% of the pretax sales price. Because of the serious service failure, I asked that the automatic gratuity be reduced to 18%. Our waiter politely took the request to the manager, but Christina refused. I wrote a total of $566.80 on the signed credit card receipt, yet the full $583.25 later posted to my account. I also separately tipped the servers on our side in cash because their service was excellent and they should not have been penalized for the failures on the other side. Texas Comptroller guidance states that a mandatory gratuity of 20% or less may be treated as nontaxable when it is separately labeled and distributed to qualifying service employees, while mandatory gratuities exceeding 20% are taxable. Ari's receipt labeled the charge as 20%, but the amount was approximately 21.65% of the pretax sales price. For that reason, I believe the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts should investigate this restaurant's gratuity calculations, sales tax treatment, and reporting practices. A customer receipt cannot establish how the restaurant ultimately reports or remits these amounts, which is exactly why an official review is warranted. On the way out, I approached Christina to explain why I disagreed with how the service complaint and gratuity were handled. She continued arguing, followed us outside the restaurant, and began questioning my daughter and her friends by asking whether they had enjoyed the food. That was inappropriate and turned an already disappointing evening into an uncomfortable end to our daughter's birthday celebration. Yes, the food tasted good. However, good food does not excuse raw meat sitting uncovered for two hours, a 40 minute delay after half the table had finished eating, a manager refusing to apologize or offer any resolution, a gratuity that did not match the percentage printed on the receipt, or charging more than the total written on the signed credit card slip. This was not simply about a few dollars. It was about food handling, service, billing accuracy, accountability, and how management treated a longtime customer raising a legitimate concern. this place is more like like a 3.5 out of 5 stars. I come from socal, where there are numerous kbbq spots. (i think just in LA alone, there are hundreds.) We ended up getting the small beef combo which will feed 2 people for 80 bucks. so after tip and tax, it's easily over 100 bucks for two people. Keep in mind, this is not an AYCE korean bbq. The beef combo comes with Brisket, short rib, rib finger meat and bulgogi. I think the best one is the short rib followed by the brisket and then the rib finger meat and last is bulgogi. I wasn't a huge fan of the bulgogi as it was a bit dry for my taste. on your grill, there is a section for grilled cheese corn and egg. Make sure you don't over cook your grilled cheese corn, we accidently left it on for too long, and the corn was too burnt by the time we took it off. I think you can get refills, on the corn and egg, but they charge you for it. I'm glad they don't charge for the banchan. I suppose this place is a bit more expensive, as they use "premium" meats and cook the means for you. If you want pork, they have a pork combo for you. or beef/pork combo as well. We went during a weekend lunch, and we were surprised we were able to get a seat without any wait time. Maybe during dinner, it gets packed? read more

I came here in a group of 5 at about 8pm on a Sunday after doing karaoke nearby. I consume a large amount of hotpot, KBBQ, yakiniku, you name it, and this was honestly my least favorite experience I've had in a while. I found the servers cooking your food to actually be somewhat inconvenient of a gimmick. All the meats I received were overcooked to my tastes, and it made the experience take twice as long - we were there for 2.5 hours. Additionally, we had a party member who couldn't eat pork, so we tried to ask that all the beef get cooked first and then the grill switched so the rest of us could have the pork. This just seemed to confuse the staff, and this wouldn't have happened had we been cooking the meat ourselves. I was also disappointed with the sauce options for the meat, and thus found myself eating pretty flavorless meat. I will say, the large meal for 4 was too much even for the 5 of us, so keep that in mind when it comes to portions. Overall, I don't think I'd in good faith wish to come here again for $35/person.
