This place is a solid 4.5. If you're looking for a no frills place that is healthy and delicious, this is your place to go. Bossam (boiled pork belly) & Jokbal (pig's feet) are huge and one combo ($64.99) was more than enough to share among 4 people. The first time we came with 3 people, we had plenty of leftovers and we also had leftovers with 4 as well. How to eat it: - Take your lettuce wrap, put the meat inside, supplement it with any of the kimchi/sides and take a bite. Nice and simple. Service is nonexistent unless you push the button to grab their attention. It's fine if you're used to it, but many people might not know/realize. Docked a star because their galbi jjim was not the traditional galbi jjim, but made with pork ribs that were over cooked and not a favorite amongst the group. Would definitely pass on this next time.

Overall: 5/5 Food: 5/5 - I came here with a friend and we got a jokbal meal combo ($40 no tip included) to share and it was really delicious ! The meal comes with a bunch of side dishes but no rice and I walked away feeling very satisfied. Service: 4/5 - There was not much service given during the visit but it was ok ! Value: 5/5 - After tax and tip the total was around $53 and we had leftovers between two people. I would definitely come back and try something new ! The restaurant space is pretty small and I noticed a lot of people getting carry out so i would maybe opt for that the next time. Overall, this place was very good at what they do (bossam/jokbal). I would recommend and come back !

My new fav jokbal place! You have great options to choose from on the menu: jokbal (pig trotters), bossam (pork belly), intestine, stews/soup&rice, and both individual sets and larger sizes for sharing. We were a party of 3 and ordered the jokbal set, and it was so yummy. The meat was nice and chewy without being too greasy, and the staff was generous with side dish refills. We ate plenty but still had leftovers to take home, so the dish fed a fourth person too The ambiance is cozy and no-nonsense--great place to catch up with some friends on a Friday night!

The Texan special medium jeokbal was tasty! Haemul pajeon was okay. Great customer service. Plenty of parking, but can get full. Small dining area.

Craving Jokbal or Bossam? Texan Wang Bal has you covered! I came with a party of 5 for dinner and we ordered the jokbal half + bossam half combo, seafood pancake, and spicy squid bokum. I love their seafood pancake and highly recommend people trying it! It's so crispy and comes with a soy dipping sauce. It was my first time trying their spicy squid + vegetables dish, and it was so good! It was a little sweet & spicy and tastes amazing with a bowl of rice! The half and half combo is a great option if you want to enjoy delicious steamed pork belly and tender pig trotter. The combo comes with lettuce, garli/jalapeño, sauces, and side dishes. It was a lot of meat, and alongside the other dishes we ordered, it easily satisfied us all with additional leftovers that we took to-go. We arrived around 6:30pm on a weekday and there was seating available. The restaurant itself seems on the smaller side so I can see them having a wait if you're trying to dine in. Service was quick though - we didn't have to wait long for our food. Overall, Texan Wangbal is a great place to enjoy some Bossam + Jokbal with generous portions and affordable pricing.

I can't believe how FAST they were!! We ordered takeout and they got it all done under 5min. I was so impressed! Their portions are huge with very reasonable prices. They are very generous with all the side things like the lettuce and other items. But what was the most impressive was HOW AMAZING IT TASTED!! So yummy and full of flavor!!

    - Food: Amazing. I was craving Jokbal for awhile but wasn't sure where to go and how the quality would be like. There is no smell to it and the portion size is generous. I went with a friend and we shared one medium Jokbal and had leftovers. The meat is tender, chewy, and warm. - Service: The serving staff is friendly and gives an honest and helpful tips to order. - Price: For the price, the amount of actual Jokbal we got is pretty good. Overall, I haven't had Bossam or other items on the menu so I cannot speak for those, but their Jokbal is really good. I would come back here for Jokbal when I crave it in the future!

Great place for pig trotter in Carollton. The portion is big and super filling. We ordered the meal for two and couldn't even finish it. Service was quick and friendly. Food comes w free banchan. Highly recommend!

Love the pig trotter here but try to go in-person and if you are ordering takeout, make sure to check if they give you rice. I've been a regular for years & I ordered through DoorDash for the first time b/c of an injury and I was disappointed to find that the order did not come with side sauces + rice, so I called to check and the staff did a poor job responding because I wasn't even asking for a refund or anything; simply asked if the rice wasn't supposed to come with (because I was willing to tolerate the sauce part), and they said "rice is never part of the meal for takeouts." Trust - this is a Korean restaurant. Rice is always a part of this type of meal. So I said I've been a regular and I takeout and dine-in all the time and I've always had my rice, lol. And then they quickly changed their response saying that if the rice was part of an order, it's just a complimentary service they provide for certain orders and the next time I come, they'll make sure I get lots of rice (not the point here). The way the staff (or the owner) handled this was disappointing b/c it was obvious that she was just trying to answer just to quickly provide an answer in that moment, but it was a lie. Like just own up to it and admit that the rice was forgotten and we apologize - simple. Long story short, great pig trotters but maybe just dine-in or just check if you have your rice if you're ordering takeout! PS. Promise I'm not a rice-obsessed freak, but it was the lie that just got to me :)

Texan Wang Bal is a small restaurant tucked away in the back corner of the plaza. The staff were attentive and friendly. It's darkly lit so good vibes all around. They specialize in jokbal and bossam. First off, the banchan was delicious and unlimited. I really liked the kimchi. We ordered the jokbal and it was enough to eat for two days. The galbi came out on a hot plate and it was delicious. We finished it in one sitting between two people.

Before the main event, we got the seafood & green onion pancake. Crispy on the outside and reasonably chewy interior. Good amount of seafood; in particular, the oyster stood out. It was also a nice portion that was ideal for sharing. I opted for the seafood soondubu. Everything, from the banchan to the specific side dishes served with the soondubu, came out not too long after ordering. I got it at spice level three which I thought offered the right amount of kick without being too overwhelming (I also like to think I have a pretty strong spice tolerance). It had a good variety of seafood; namely, the shrimp and oyster. I'm not the biggest fan of clams but they were definitely still tasty. The tofu was soft and silky. The yellow croaker and rice were great supplements to the dish. The rice perfectly absorbed the broth. The croaker added a nice crunchy break from everything. The banchan was pretty standard in my opinion - still, a great complement to the soondubu. Last but not least - service was attentive and quick. I will definitely be coming back at some point!

The restaurant had plenty of space, but service was still super fast and efficient anyway, which I loved. What I love about Chodang is that the food is stellar and such good PORTIONS. Knowing this, I still opted to order a Combo Special because the thought of having leftovers for the next day sounded great to me. I ordered the Kimchi Tofu Soup with Beef Bulgogi, and it was delicious. I usually order my soups at the Spicy level, which I would say has a kick and flavor but never leaves me panting for air or water. As someone who likes spice, I wouldn't say it's very spicy, but definitely flavorful. Beef Bulgogi is one of my favorite dishes, and this place's version does not disappoint. The meat is tender and has a good balance of sweet and salty. My friends also ordered Combo Specials with a Tofu soup and the Korean bbq ribs, and Spicy Pork Bulgogi. One of these friends opted for the medium spice level, which I would say is a safe choice for everyone, especially if you're worried about something being too spicy. All soups come with Korean side dishes, a whole grilled yellow croaker fish (delicious but lots of bones), and a hot stone bowl of rice. Nothing missed!
