Good food service is great ambiance is okey . I would recommend. I am going back for a change . But not every day food

What a joy to find this place. The soup portion was HUGE. I got a spicy beef soup with mushrooms and zucchini and it was amazing. The kimchi was so good that I got a second serving. The gentleman cooking the food was so friendly. He checked on me and gave me two complimentary gyoza. Definitely recommend. My belly is full and I am happy. Kooksoo II is the kind of spot that makes you realize noodles are basically a love language. The food is hearty, flavorful, and feels like it was made to actually fill you up--not just look pretty on Instagram. The noodles had great texture, the broth was rich without being overly salty, and the side dishes were fresh and plentiful. Service was straightforward and efficient--not overly chatty, but they got the job done and kept things moving smoothly. You won't feel ignored, but you also won't be on a first-name basis with your server by the end of the night. Ambiance is simple and casual. It's not trying to be fancy--it's more of a laid-back, everyday kind of place where the focus is clearly on the food. If you're looking for a trendy vibe, this isn't it. But if you just want solid Korean comfort food, it delivers. Overall: great for when you're craving noodles and want an honest, satisfying meal without the frills. read more

Super quiet spot! This location is mostly self-serve, water cups are available for you and you order through the kiosk. They will call your number when the food is ready and tables are first come first serve! Our food was ready pretty quickly and since it's served in the metal bowls, it was pretty hot the whole meal! I wish I ordered extra noodles because the texture was perfect. My husband is Korean and said the broth wasn't the usual kalguksu broth but more of a soybean soup. He loved it though! We took the broth home with the takeout containers and added our own noodles the next night. read more

I finally returned to try the beef kooksoo and it was just as yummy as I was expecting! We split a large bowl which was plenty for two people. The noodles are so bouncy and are some of my favorite noodles I've tried in DFW, and the broth is so rich and comforting. The kimchi is also really good, I wish I could buy it in bulk to take home. Kooksoo is definitely one of the best soup spots around, and I'm gonna make it my goal to eat here more regularly. read more

After a short hibernation due to the ice storm, this place hit spot! The place is relatively small but clean and cozy. Order food using kiosk, self serve water and ice available. Ordered Seafood Jjampong but sadly no lobster but owner replaced with a giant portion of meat and even give back a small refund back for the replacement. Please come and support! read more

Wow, comfort Korean noodles that will keep you thinking about this for days! Heads up, nice clean modern restaurant, but you order at the kiosk, get your food at the counter when your number is called. Get your own water and utensils. I don't remember if we had to bus our own table. What we ordered: Signature beef bone soup: beef bone was big and tender. We requested for not so spicy soup. Noodles were so soft and chewy. Family loved this flavor. Kooksoo noodle soup: soooo yum! Soup was flavorful with just a tiny kick. Excellent balance of flavors. And the middles were so chewy and soft. Beef rice: flavorful beef (maybe blackbean flavor) and garlic. Again, very balanced. So good with rice. We finished everything then remembered Mike Chen had the stir fry noodle. We weren't hungry anymore but wanted to try it...so we did. Swoon, so so good! Stir fry noodle: a saucy stir fry noodle. Similar to the kooksoo noodle, but not soupy. This was my favorite. I'd definitely come back next time I'm in the area. read more

I love jjampong. There is nothing quite as comforting as a big bowl of spicy seafood noodle soup but Kooksoo puts on a masterclass in all of it's dishes. One of the best restaurants I've been to in Dallas. I also love the interior design. It's cozy and the tables are a bit tight but the modern aesthetic is bright and inviting. Ordering is self serve at the kiosk but if you need anything (like checking in on yelp for free bulgogi), just ring the bell and someone will come chat. And speaking of that bulgogi, as amazingly charred, sweet and delicious as it is, it's a footnote compared to the king rib jjampong. Massive bowl of complex seafoody broth, filled with elastic, chewy, house made fresh noodles. Some zucchini and bean sprouts for vegetables, lots of mussels and shrimp, topped off with a rack of fall off the bone tender beef ribs. Go grab some scissors to cut it up and go to town. Spice level is not overwhelming, just the right amount to cut through the heft of all the food, but you can also adjust it up or down when you order. The kimchi is very good too. All in all, definitely coming back whenever I'm in town, whether it's chilly in the winter or 100 degrees in the summer. read more

We were originally called to this place for the lobster jjamppong but I made a last minute pivot to get the beef rib jjamppong instead. Now, I have an excuse to go back! I ordered the beef rib jjamppong combo with LA galbi and my friend got the beef belly stir fry with noodles and LA galbi combo. They were sweet enough to give us a kids meal on the house for my toddler. The jjamppong was super flavorful with plenty of mussels and shrimp. Loved the sprouts on top, I love my veggies in my jjamppong. Not traditional flavors but still delicious and the noodles did not disappoint. I tried some of the stir fried beef noodle dish and it wasn't like anything I've had before but it was quite tasty! Everything is self serve, you order at the kiosk, get your drinks and utensils and your number is called when your order is ready. Service was quick and the atmosphere was clean, simple and inviting. We ordered delivery for two of the king rib soups and it tasted like we ordered there in-person at the restaurant. The noodles were great and the broth was piping hot. I've had other seafood jjampong and this was definitely the best I've ever had. Other seafood soups always have a frozen seafood taste to it or is sometimes gritty tasting to me. Kooksoo's was clean and flavorful. And of course the star of the show, at least to me, were the ribs which were completely fall off the bone. While I find the price is really high for a bowl of noodles, it's definitely worth it every once a while. read more

Love love love this place!! Been awhile since I was here and went for dinner tonight. It's still the quaint interior, but more self service now where you order at the kiosk up front and then go get your food when they call your number. Very efficient and still great quality food. Food is just amazing. Not the cheapest but great quality and good quantity. + Beef Bulgogi: not the thin meat but nice chunks and great flavor. Definitely surprised us by how good it was! + King Ribs Jjamppong: perfect and has a kick. Meat is so tender and you have a nice amount of shrimp and mussels in it too. Fresh ingredients and my favorite thing here. + LA galbi: good Don't sleep on this, come here now!! read more

Tucked away from the main Ktown area, this place is a hidden gem! The inside is small but cute. Not too many options on the menu to be overwhelming. The king ribs jjampong is beautiful. The giant rib sticking out falls off the bone. The soup is full of flavor and filled with noodles and mussels. The only thing that would make it better would be more variety of seafood. Stir fried beef with noodles is also super tasty. The cheese adds a nice umami flavor. We got a complimentary Bulgogi bc we spent over $35 which was surprisingly really good! The portions are huge and each dish can easily be split between two. I will definitely be back! read more

This is one of those hidden gems (literally hidden, around the right side of a donut shop) that I was quite pleased to have tried. Came here based on the yelp reviews and didn't leave disappointed. This place has a wide selection of noodle soup dishes that are delicious and plentiful. We ended up getting the King Ribs Jjampong ($19.99 + large 2.00) to split between two people. This was full of clams, mussels, shrimp, and the main attraction: beef ribs. The soup wasn't overly spicy or salty and it was full of delicious noodles and some veggies. The waiter was super nice and recommended a few other things for next time. Overall price was fair and we left wanting to try a few of their other dishes. Solid experience overall read more

Went here for the soft-opening today and it was great! Even though they ran out of jjampong and kimbap (which I came here for), the Beef Kooksoo, Spicy cold noodles, and the Bulgolgi were all fresh, delicious, and great! And it was 50% off everything, so nice! The Beef Kooksoo was delicious; it tasted a bit like soybean paste stew with lots of zucchini, had bulgolgi slices, onions, and lots of spicy peppers. The NOODLES, omg!!!!! THE BEST korean noodles I've had so far. They were fresh, bouncy, and perfectly chewy, and the right length (Not too long nor too short). We ate this dish to the last strand. I would come back just for the fresh noodles. SO GOOD! The cold spicy noodles tasted homemade as well. I loved the sauce. It wasn't overly acidic nor burn-your-mouth spicy red sauce that makes your stomach hurt. It was balanced well, flavorful, and the cucumbers and long thin noodles complimented the dish well. The bulgolgi dish with rice was simple, but tasty. It came with kimchi and they gave us two big side dishes of it. The kimchi here isn't spicy, and has a strong sesame flavor. I enjoyed it. It is a smaller restaurant, but the ladies serving us were soo friendly and made sure to check up on us, and that the order was correct. Overall, so glad this gem of a delicious Korean restaurant is new to the neighborhood! Welcome and I can't wait to come back and try more dishes!!!! read more

Kooksoo II was definitely worth trying out. Slightly hidden off Hebron Pkwy, you don't want to miss. Nice interior and comfortable interior a little deceiving from looking at exterior of building. It is slightly small on the inside and seating capacity might be at 30 people. When business picks up you can expect to wait outside as there is no waiting area. There was only server for the entire place and she didn't miss a beat. Good service. From the time she took our order, food came out in 10 min. We got the chicken noodle soup and stir-fried beef with noodles. Both were awesomely delicious. The broth of the chicken noodle dish was clean, savory, perfect. Noodles were soft velvety. Chicken and veggies were tender. The stir-fried beef noodle were my favorite! Slightly sweet and savory. The beef, veggies, and noodles melded beautifully with the sauce. Not to mention addition of parmesan cheese took the flavor profile to another level! Coming back to try the other dishes! read more

Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 4/5 Food is really good, very special. You can't find these menus at its quality and taste easily. Service was amazing, food came out on time, great plating and the chef came out in the hall to check on the customers. I would say ambiance is average. First time here on Saturday around 5:30 pm. It was empty when we walked in, but filled up very quickly starting at 5:45/6 pm. There's only about 7 tables to beware. You order off a touch screen that is just inside the door, which is easy and convenient. However, it is RIGHT inside the door so if more than one party comes you're queuing up outside. I ordered the king jjampong and it was DELICIOUS!!! took a bit to come out, but this is all freshly made so I don't mind. I wish thre had been more shrimp, but there was a great amount of mussles, veggies and noodles. I left the bones to sit and the meat just sort of flaked off the bone after a bit. It had a good spice/kick to it as well. Would absolutely order again. I also like that they have all the tools you need up at the window- bowls to share, tongs, scissors etc. My friends got the bulgogi and the beef noodles and both enjoyed their meals- the kimchi was also good. Not the cheapest meal but I'd pay more for something delicious and fresh and to support a small business! read more

SUMMARY: Outstanding food, outstanding service, but absolute worst signage (from the street) for a restaurant I've ever seen. Please Yelpers keep this place alive but I guarantee you'll have a b___ of a time finding it the first time. Three friends and I certainly did! BACKGROUND: the first time we visited Dallas for a scouting trip, we saw the Plano Koosoo and were mesmerized by the pic of a big ass rib bone sticking out of a soup bowl on their window. We've had several chances to visit that location, but never did. A friend of ours clued us into this place so we decided to give it a try. HOW TO FIND IT: Their restaurant signage does NOT face the street so guaranteed you'll miss it. However, thanks to the gigantic DONUT sign outside of their adjacent restaurant neighbor's business, you'll know you've reached rib bone nirvana. It's right next door. FOOD: We've had a few dishes including their kalbi, but you know you're here for the King Rib JJamppong. In addition to the big ass rib, there's seafood (mussels and the like) as well as veggies and noodles. It's really the junk (junk meant in a good way) seafood noodle soup---with a big ass rib bone. If you're spouse or girlfriend is on a diet, a regular size dude whose less than hungry can share it. But my advise is to get the KRJ combo set with kalbi. That's shareable for two for sure. Ask for a second bowl of course. Y'all can lock arms and do a love shot sorta thing..but with pieces of the rib. Ok, just kidding. SERVICE: sometimes there's only one guy out there, but the restaurant is small enough where the person can handle it by him or herself. Always had a good experience here. RETURN VISIT? Yes, if we can find it. Haha, joking of course. Now we know. DONUT = Rib jjamppong heaven. This place is really good esp now that it's winter, so come on y'all give it a try! read more

Ordered the King Rib Jjamppong and got the free bulgogi on the side with the check in offer. First off, I love the self service kiosk which makes ordering super easy. The only thing was we had to ask the worker to process the check in offer separately but he was super helpful. You seat yourself and wait for your number to be called and can pick up the self serve water and utensils while you wait. The restaurant was almost filled when we arrived on a Sunday around 1 and we got our food pretty quickly. We just got the the rib jjamppong to share between myself and my boyfriend since we just wanted to try out the place and didn't want to be too full. Once I tasted the broth and noodles, I sort of regretted not getting my own bowl lol but we were actually pretty full still when we finished. The noodle texture is good, broth is deep/flavorful, good amount of seafood in soup, meat portion is good and falls off the bone. Definitely would come back for jjamppong anytime and would highly recommend it anyone wanting to try jjamppong or the special kalgooksoo ("knife cut" noodles). I was a little skeptical of the combination of the king ribs with the seafood based noodle soup, but this place really delivered with high quality of each of the items they included in the dish. Overall, we were very impressed and definitely bringing friends back with us next time! read more

10/10 recommend! When you walk in, there's a kiosk for you to order and seatings are first come first serve. Be mindful, this place is very small with limited seatings. Largest table only holds 6 people! With it being small and order before you sit, the ambiance has a food court vibe. You wait til your number is called and pick up the food at the window. It took about 10-15mins for our food. We ordered the King Rib noodle soup combo with LA Galbi. It was delicious! The soup was very flavorful and noodles were al dente! To start off, if you like seafood, get the king's rib jjamppong for sure. After a long day of pre-Thanksgiving festivities, I was full. I already told my husband I couldn't eat another bite but he was hungry so I said I would eat a little bit. I wanted to try this place after reading some reviews saying this restaurant was a hidden gem. Suffice to say, I ate half of my husband's bowl! The soup was so good, it was spicy and flavorful and the ribs absolutely fell off the bone. There was plenty of seafood and I couldn't stop eating! I wish I got my own bowl so we could have tried more flavors. We also ordered a side of the fried dumplings--they were delicious! Nothing unique or amazing about them, but they were very solid dumplings that complemented the jjamppong very well. I will definitely be coming back next time I visit! read more

Order the bulgogi using the self service kiosk. No need to talk to anyone if that's your thing

This is a hidden gem not sure if it's a good thing hope they survive in this tiny shopping strip... Upon entering it have a very cozy homey feel to the decor and the servers are always friendly and nice. We were quickly sat and given water. Then we took a quick look at the menu we quickly decided on the King Ribs Jjampong and beef kooksoo noodles *during soft opening they had kimbap with noodles or combos not sure if they still do this since we didn't order combo today* The serving is big as you can see in my photos andI'm still full as I'm writing this review 2 hours after we ate. The kooksoo beef noodle is a bean paste base soup with generous amount of squash, onions, mushrooms, scallions and noodle and maybe 6~7 pcs of hot pot beef it seems. The King Ribs Jjampong was very good seafood soup base and a tiny bit spicier than the beef one... lots of fresh seafeed which includes mussels, shrimps and a GIANT piece of rib as you can see in many yelpers photos the meat is very tender and it falls off the bones but it doesn't have a lot of flavor just original rib flavor which is nice too and of course both bowl of noodle the texture is very good not hard not soft chewy just at the right level All and all a great lunch / date spot but beware of food coma going back to work, the carb will sneak up on ya! Solid 5 stars! Food and service maybe - 0.5 for price but with inflation can't really blame them as their portion is fairly large. So if you are in the area and like noodles and spicy broths give them a try! read more

I wouldn't have known about this place had it not been for Yelp - I've been craving noodles for the longest time so I decided to check them out. I ordered pick-up here via UberEats, and I got the King Rib Jjamppong and Bulgogi combo, which came to around $30. The food was ready within 15 minutes, which was really fast so I was able to pick up my order quickly. I rushed home and opened the dish, and I saw the HUGE piece of rib standing right in the dish. I was like DAMN - this is really a king rib. The jjamppong soup was rich - it was a bit spicy so if you can't do spicy, think twice before ordering. There were about 4-5 mussels and three shrimps, which is more than what you see in a typical jjamppong. The noodles were chewy and it really was a great hearty dish. I feel like most females can split it. The bulgogi was pretty good too - it's bulgogi. The pieces of meats are thinly sliced so it's easy to eat, and they also have scallions, onions and garlic stir-fried into the dish as well. This place really is a great hole-in-the-wall. I was able to try togo, but I'd love to try this place in-house so I get the full experience and I can try the jjamppong when it's piping hot. I will definitely return! read more

This is an amazing find once you find it! Warning: Kooksoo II does not face W Hebron Parkway, so you may miss it (which is what we did!) It's facing Fairway Court, behind the H donuts place. Just turn on Fairway Court as if you're going to get donuts and you will see their signage! Once you come in, you will see that there is limited seating. The restaurant is simple, clean, and classy. You order at the kiosk as you come in, so make sure you take a look at the menu online before coming. We ordered two combos that came with a drink- stir fry beef noodles with LA Galbi and chicken noodle soup with bulgogi and they gave us Korean fried dumplings appetizer on the house. We loved every bite of the dumplings. Filling was delicious. The LA galbi was spot on. Had a little char on some of the meat which added flavor. Loved their kimchi as well. Everything was so simple and yet so good. This is Korean homestyle at its best. Kudos to the great service by the 2 person team. This hole-in-the-wall dive is nestled behind some other buildings and a clinic, totally giving off "don't expect much" vibes. But the food here is superb. The food is ordered through a self-serve kiosk a la McDonald's and the drinks are in a mini fridge next to the door. It feels more like a lobby than a restaurant. But when the food comes out, it is no different than the original Kooksoo restaurant in Plano (which I went to for the first time after coming here). The meat is sliced thin and the noodles are perfectly thick and chewy. My partner says that the spice level is perfect for her, which means it can get pretty spicy. Don't sleep on this place. It's worth a visit and their price; which, honestly for Korean food nowadays, is not that bad. read more

Pleasant and modern interior, which is a big contrast to what you might think it might look like based on the outside. On the smaller side so not good for large groups, but does give you a sense you're dining at a nicer place with slow jazz piano music and all's King ribs jjamppong -the hand pulled noodles were fantastic. Springy and bouncy. Looked intimidating with the two beef ribs but the meat fell right off the bone. The broth was deep and spicy. Interesting mix of beef soup taste with the seafood ingredients. Definitely above average in the area of jjangbbong broth I've had where most times it's water-y Beef stir fried noodle -good in its own way. Well ordering and knowing what to do is the initial challenge but it's not too bad. The food was good just not quite what I expected. Had the king rib which is plentiful but didn't expect it in such soup form. It was reminiscent of a vegetable soup but a little different. It was spicy but a nice spice.
