They will call your number when the food is ready and tables are first come first serve! Our food was ready pretty quickly and since it's served in the metal bowls, it was pretty hot the whole meal! I love jjampong. There is nothing quite as comforting as a big bowl of spicy seafood noodle soup but Kooksoo puts on a masterclass in all of it's dishes. One of the best restaurants I've been to in Dallas. I also love the interior design. It's cozy and the tables are a bit tight but the modern aesthetic is bright and inviting. Ordering is self serve at the kiosk but if you need anything (like checking in on yelp for free bulgogi), just ring the bell and someone will come chat. And speaking of that bulgogi, as amazingly charred, sweet and delicious as it is, it's a footnote compared to the king rib jjampong. Massive bowl of complex seafoody broth, filled with elastic, chewy, house made fresh noodles. Some zucchini and bean sprouts for vegetables, lots of mussels and shrimp, topped off with a rack of fall off the bone tender beef ribs. Go grab some scissors to cut it up and go to town. Spice level is not overwhelming, just the right amount to cut through the heft of all the food, but you can also adjust it up or down when you order. The kimchi is very good too. Even though they ran out of jjampong and kimbap (which I came here for), the Beef Kooksoo, Spicy cold noodles, and the Bulgolgi were all fresh, delicious, and great! First time here on Saturday around 5:30 pm. It was empty when we walked in, but filled up very quickly starting at 5:45/6 pm. There's only about 7 tables to beware. FOOD: We've had a few dishes including their kalbi, but you know you're here for the King Rib JJamppong. In addition to the big ass rib, there's seafood (mussels and the like) as well as veggies and noodles. It's really the junk (junk meant in a good way) seafood noodle soup---with a big ass rib bone. If you're spouse or girlfriend is on a diet, a regular size dude whose less than hungry can share it. But my advise is to get the KRJ combo set with kalbi. That's shareable for two for sure. The only thing was we had to ask the worker to process the check in offer separately but he was super helpful. The restaurant was almost filled when we arrived on a Sunday around 1 and we got our food pretty quickly. We just got the the rib jjamppong to share between myself and my boyfriend since we just wanted to try out the place and didn't want to be too full. Once I tasted the broth and noodles, I sort of regretted not getting my own bowl lol but we were actually pretty full still when we finished. The noodle texture is good, broth is deep/flavorful, good amount of seafood in soup, meat portion is good and falls off the bone. The kooksoo beef noodle is a bean paste base soup with generous amount of squash, onions, mushrooms, scallions and noodle and maybe 6~7 pcs of hot pot beef it seems. The King Ribs Jjampong was very good seafood soup base and a tiny bit spicier than the beef one... lots of fresh seafeed which includes mussels, shrimps and a GIANT piece of rib as you can see in many yelpers photos the meat is very tender and it falls off the bones but it doesn't have a lot of flavor just original rib flavor which is nice too and of course both bowl of noodle the texture is very good not hard not soft chewy just at the right level All and all a great lunch / date spot but beware of food coma going back to work, the carb will sneak up on ya! I ordered pick-up here via UberEats, and I got the King Rib Jjamppong and Bulgogi combo, which came to around $30. The food was ready within 15 minutes, which was really fast so I was able to pick up my order quickly. I rushed home and opened the dish, and I saw the HUGE piece of rib standing right in the dish. I was like DAMN - this is really a king rib. The jjamppong soup was rich - it was a bit spicy so if you can't do spicy, think twice before ordering. There were about 4-5 mussels and three shrimps, which is more than what you see in a typical jjamppong. The noodles were chewy and it really was a great hearty dish. I feel like most females can split it. The bulgogi was pretty good too - it's bulgogi. The pieces of meats are thinly sliced so it's easy to eat, and they also have scallions, onions and garlic stir-fried into the dish as well. This place really is a great hole-in-the-wall. This is an amazing find once you find it! Warning: Kooksoo II does not face W Hebron Parkway, so you may miss it (which is what we did!) It's facing Fairway Court, behind the H donuts place. You order at the kiosk as you come in, so make sure you take a look at the menu online before coming. We ordered two combos that came with a drink- stir fry beef noodles with LA Galbi and chicken noodle soup with bulgogi and they gave us Korean fried dumplings appetizer on the house. We loved every bite of the dumplings. Filling was delicious. The LA galbi was spot on. Had a little char on some of the meat which added flavor. Loved their kimchi as well. This hole-in-the-wall dive is nestled behind some other buildings and a clinic, totally giving off "don't expect much" vibes. But the food here is superb. The food is ordered through a self-serve kiosk a la McDonald's and the drinks are in a mini fridge next to the door. It feels more like a lobby than a restaurant. But when the food comes out, it is no different than the original Kooksoo restaurant in Plano (which I went to for the first time after coming here).
