Cold noodles

this place is more like a 3.75 out of 5 stars. When the people working there don't really speak English, you know the food is legit. I couldn't find this place, and i called and asked where it was located... The person told me they couldn't speak english that well, and told me they were next to a bank... which is actually helpful, since i was able to look for a bank in the plaza and found it was 1 store down. Anyways, we ended up getting a #4 combo which is a hot noodle dumpling soup and a cold noodle bowl. It was a fairly hot day, and we were craving cold noodles, but we didn't want to get two cold noodles, so that's why we got a hot soup base instead... Glad we did, since the hot soup was actually very good. As for the cold noodles, i like how simple and clean tasting it was. They also provide vinegar and asian style mustard for the cold noodles as well. I think when you get a bowl, it comes with some banchan... which were kimchi and yellow radishes. When you're done, you need to clean up the table yourself. Bring the bowl to the front. Protip: if you get the cold noodles, definitely cut the noodles with scissor.

It was so good and so authentic. The kimchi was the best that I've ever had. The soup was a bit thicker than I expected but it was so flavorful and savory. The baos were also so fresh.

I love going here for their dumplings! The wrapping is thin and they always stuff it with plenty of filling! The soups here are also simple but delicious. It's a small restaurant from the outside so it's easy to miss but I'm so glad I found this spot. Perfect meal to share with a few friends! It's pretty much a self service restaurant where you order at the counter and then you pick up your food at the counter. You can get chopsticks and water and to go containers on the side too if you need! I highly recommend this korean restaurant!

THE BIG: Located in Carrollton and I'd say a hole in the wall vibe. Very condensed menu which means they specialize. Parking is available in the lots. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I were hungry and passing through Carrollton when driving back from OKC. Fortunately Arirang was open and we stopped in for dinner. Place is small but cozy. We got the kimchi noodle soup and the sesame noodle. The sesame noodle was delicious! It seemed like they blendered sesame seeds and added it to a chicken broth. Noodles were potato-esque. For an app, we shared pork dumplings. Tl;dr, they were alright. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done for three dishes was around $40. The soups were big which could feed two people. Would recommend and will be back next time we're in Carrollton

The full menu as of 12.7.2025.

Authentic food. Amazing kimchi. FYI- Self service for everything. A type of cafeteria setting. Order and pay first, claim food, enjoy, return washable, leave, then go again!

#2 Chicken Kalguksu

My friend brought me to this spot and I wish there was something like this back home. You walk in and there's just an aunty at the counter who's impatient when you ask questions about the menu haha. But it's not about the service, the kalguksu is worth it! Chicken kalguksu - the broth was so rich! The chicken was a little dry but eaten with kimchi and pickled radish gives it flavorful and texture. The noodles were on the denser side but still good.

Not crazy about the food here but I love their kimchi. I'd just come to grab a jar of kimchi to go. If you want the best kimchi in town, this place is it. Made fresh daily. Yum!

I've only been here twice in the summer to eat naengmyeon but it's been stellar both times! Their naengmyeon and bibim naengmyeon are both delicious, with a large amount of noodles for a good price. It comes with mustard and vinegar on the side so you can adjust the taste to your liking. Side dishes of homemade kimchi and danmuji were included. For the spicy noodles, the cold broth comes in a separate bowl. Only thing is I wish there were some sort of protein other than the boiled egg. We also ordered their pork dumplings (5) recently and they were great too. Made fresh and had a good amount of filling with a thin wrapper which I enjoyed. Their kimchi is homemade, very flavorful and spicy and one of my favorites that I've had! It's self-service so you get your own utensils and return your tray to the front when you're done. Overall love it here, feels homey and the food is great for the price! Can't wait to try hotter soup dishes when the weather cools down.

I didn't realize it was a "self serve". Once food is ready, you bring it to your table & grab your own utensils, etc. once you're done, you must return everything to the front. My friend wanted to come here while us gals spend the weekend back in TX. The amount of food you get for the cost is worth it. There's a lot of food! Unfortunately, I've realized as I get older, my tolerance for spice has diminished. I was unable to finish the Kim chi noodle based soup. They also make their own Kim chi! I'm going back to get a jar before I head back home!

Second time here and it did not disappoint. My fave is the sesame sujebi. Get this and the kimchee noodles and it's the perfect combo of spicy and nutty. I also liked the kimchee mandoo, but it's pretty spicy. This may become my go to stop when in Dallas.

FOOD handmade Noodles Soup with Kimchi - I came here post sickness so was craving some soup. The kimchi stew isn't super spicy which was good. The noodles were very soft and chewy which made it taste super good. I will say that they do give pretty large portion sizes so it would be good to split with someone if you do not eat that much. Overall the flavor was pretty alright. I will say I got flavor fatigued over time and it started to taste bland but that's just because I was probably eating a lot of it (lol!). They also give kimchi and pickled radish on the side. The kimchi was really good. It wasn't super fermented or sour which is how I like it and there were lots of leaf from the vegetable (which is my favorite part). The pickled radish was also pretty yummy as well. VIBES I came with my friend during the weekday at around noon for lunch. There were lots of people coming in from working places nearby. There is wooden tables with metal chairs and the place does hold quite a few people. It gives very traditional home vibes in that the atmosphere is very cozy and everything is simplistic. Great for a casual lunch or family dinner! SERVICE Service was pretty average. Food came out quickly and not too much interaction with staff other than ordering food. Food comes in sizable portions for a good price! Everyone was nice though!

This place is SUCH a special, authentic place The kimchi is the best I've had, as someone who doesn't even like kimchi that much other than in dumplings and fried rice! Best kalguksu in Dallas for sure. The sesame broth is the best one to get! It's super unique and hard to find any where else. Also enjoy the eggplant noodles- pretty spicy!!! The food is comforting and the prices are fair for the portions. Anytime I'm feeling something clean and heartwarming I come here. If you haven't tried to, do yourself a favor. Or don't, I almost don't want to talk about this place and want to keep it hidden from everyone.

Found this gem in Carrollton for authentic Korean noodle soup! The menu is straight forward, they offer a few selection but everything was so good. We ordered the dough soup, hand pulled noodle soup, miso sauce noodles and dumplings. The dough soup really stood out! It was chewy and the broth was so flavorful. The miso sauce was fantastic, slightly spicy but delicious. I loved the dumplings too, super stuffed with fillings. Beware the portions are really big, especially with all the soup. We absolutely will be back to get our fix soon!

There's nothing better on a chilly, rainy afternoon than a warm, nourishing bowl of soup. In this…read morecase, it was soondubu at Cho Dang Village. Before the main event, we got the seafood & green onion pancake. Crispy on the outside and reasonably chewy interior. Good amount of seafood; in particular, the oyster stood out. It was also a nice portion that was ideal for sharing. I opted for the seafood soondubu. Everything, from the banchan to the specific side dishes served with the soondubu, came out not too long after ordering. I got it at spice level three which I thought offered the right amount of kick without being too overwhelming (I also like to think I have a pretty strong spice tolerance). It had a good variety of seafood; namely, the shrimp and oyster. I'm not the biggest fan of clams but they were definitely still tasty. The tofu was soft and silky. The yellow croaker and rice were great supplements to the dish. The rice perfectly absorbed the broth. The croaker added a nice crunchy break from everything. The banchan was pretty standard in my opinion - still, a great complement to the soondubu. Last but not least - service was attentive and quick. I will definitely be coming back at some point!

The restaurant had plenty of space, but service was still super fast and efficient anyway, which I loved. What I love about Chodang is that the food is stellar and such good PORTIONS. Knowing this, I still opted to order a Combo Special because the thought of having leftovers for the next day sounded great to me. I ordered the Kimchi Tofu Soup with Beef Bulgogi, and it was delicious. I usually order my soups at the Spicy level, which I would say has a kick and flavor but never leaves me panting for air or water. As someone who likes spice, I wouldn't say it's very spicy, but definitely flavorful. Beef Bulgogi is one of my favorite dishes, and this place's version does not disappoint. The meat is tender and has a good balance of sweet and salty. My friends also ordered Combo Specials with a Tofu soup and the Korean bbq ribs, and Spicy Pork Bulgogi. One of these friends opted for the medium spice level, which I would say is a safe choice for everyone, especially if you're worried about something being too spicy. All soups come with Korean side dishes, a whole grilled yellow croaker fish (delicious but lots of bones), and a hot stone bowl of rice. Nothing missed!

You won't feel ignored, but you also won't be on a first-name basis with your server by the end of the night. Ambiance is simple and casual. It's not trying to be fancy--it's more of a laid-back, everyday kind of place where the focus is clearly on the food. If you're looking for a trendy vibe, this isn't it.
