AYCE BEEF RIBS AND SKEWERS?? Sign me up! First off, I'd like to say this place is expensive for an AYCE KBBQ. We went as a party of six, and the total (including automatic gratuity) came out to around $65 per person. Of course, we ate a lot of food, but just be aware of the price, since most other places in the area are around $40-50. There are multiple tiers, so if you're looking for a basic KBBQ experience, it's about $40, but that doesn't include LA galbi, which is surprising. The basic meats like pork belly and bulgogi were okay, but we mainly came for the beef ribs and skewers, and that's what we focused on. The skewers were our favorites! This is the only place in DFW I know that serves AYCE skewers, which is why we had to check it out. I loved the lamb and beef skewers; the meat quality was great, and the seasoning was perfect. It takes about 15 minutes for them to come out, so definitely order them as soon as you sit down. Each order comes with three skewers (not five), so if you want nine lamb skewers, make sure to order three servings. The beef ribs are the most expensive item on the menu at $49 each à la carte, so that's what we focused on with our A+B+C combo. The meat was SO GOOD-- juicy, tender, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Since the ribs are big, they take about 10-15 minutes to cook on the grill, so I recommend starting off with a steak or something faster to cook while you wait. I like that they include spicy cold noodles, because I love pairing noodles with my meat. It's free with the big combo or an extra $3.99 for the A+B tier; not bad at all, especially since some other places don't even offer cold noodles. That alone made the meal worth it for me. There are other noodle dishes included for free in the $50 combo, but none of us wanted to fill up on carbs, so we focused mainly on the meat. The hot food bar was surprisingly good too. I really liked the egg fried rice; it tasted just like how my mom used to make it. The food wasn't refilled quickly, but since the restaurant wasn't too busy, it was fine. It does make me wonder if some items had been sitting out for a while, though, since they open at 5 PM. One thing they could improve on is offering more side dishes like corn cheese and steamed egg. FYI: Kimchi and lettuce are an EXTRA $4.99 per plate?! This is the first time I've ever seen a Korean restaurant charge for kimchi, especially an AYCE KBBQ spot. My Korean friends were not impressed and said they wouldn't come back, especially since Moodaepo includes everything. Overall, I enjoyed my meal, but I can't say the same for my friends. They weren't happy about the extra charge for kimchi and lettuce (we opted out from it), and the only sides we got were radishes, so the spread wasn't as generous as most KBBQ places. I'd definitely go back for the beef ribs and skewers, though, since those really hit the spot. It's a good place for celebrations like birthdays, but most tables only seat four, so I wouldn't recommend bringing a big group. There are two long tables in the middle that can seat about eight people, but that's pretty much it. The service was great though. We came for a birthday party, and I called ahead to ask if I could bring an ice cream cake. They said yes and stored it in their freezer until after our meal. It was pouring outside, so we stayed a bit longer until the rain calmed down, but all the staff were super friendly and accommodating. I have to admit, prior to their menu change that added the Korean BBQ option, I had an awful experience here. But that was a long time ago and since everyone was raving about their KBBQ, I decided to give it another try. While they still have their old a la carte menu on the back side, I remained focused on the AYCE Korean bbq side. I opted for the A+B menu, which was enough for me because I was there for the skewers and the more basic KBBQ meats. The cuts of meat were great - I recommend the brisket, which they cut to just the right thickness IMO, and if you want a leaner option the thin sliced lamb was good too. I don't usually see lamb available on a KBBQ menu so of course I had to try it. Skewers were good - heavily seasoned with cumin and other spices and were cooked in the kitchen out back. I think they tried to rush a couple of them out to us a little too early (a little on the rare side) but it was no problem at all to just throw them on the grille that's already lit in front of us for another few minutes. You also get the typical Korean side dishes including the steamed egg, which is always a pleasure. All in all I'm happy with their changes and glad to see they recognized they needed to do so. Big positive about this place is it is open SUPER late up to 2AM. We were doing a midnight KBBQ run since one of our cousins got out of work late and lo and behold, this spot was open! We did the lowest tier menu which was $34.99 AYCE. To be honest, as someone who comes from CA, even this felt a bit overpriced considering the meats available on the menu so I was a little disappointed here! The brisket was dry but the pork belly was good! The sides are very limited (cucumber, kimchi, jalapenos - no japchae, etc.) and you get one soup per table essentially (soybean soup was the default). One thing I did like was you could add on cold noodles for $3 and the bibim naengmyeon was quite good and refreshing. The staff is SUPER NICE and very accommodating. We came in with a big party and they did a lot to get us in as soon as they could. They were attentive as much as they could be considering how busy it was at 12AM. All in all, the experience here was okay but there are definitely other places that are better. Do not go to the bathroom here, very gross. :( read more

I saw this place all over my instagram feed and it was underwhelming. The food was overpriced and was pretty bland and needed the seasoning. The skewers just were too expensive for how little food. The staff didn't help us when we were clearly lost as it was our first time. They only assisted after watching us struggle multiple times. I love that this is an AYCE late night option. The food was good, service was slow at the beginning but once we started ordering everything was a lot smoother and quick. My friend and I went around 10:30pm and were there till close to midnight. Only one other table was there when we first got there but then tables started filling very fast around 11/11:30p. For the price, I have to say, it is pretty expensive for what you get compared to the other KBBQ places in the area. But everything I had was good. It wouldn't be my very first option when picking AYCE kbbq, when there are so many options in Carrollton, however, if it's late night of course I will be going here. They did not have the tanghulu on the Friday evening I went. That was a little disappointing. My friends and I ate here for a late dinner after driving from Austin to Dallas. It kind of felt like a hole in the wall because of how unassuming it was. It wasn't super busy, so we were seated right away and I like how they have a button to press to call over the server. The server was very friendly and fast. The food was pretty good, but kinda felt like standard good Korean BBQ. Nothing noteworthy about the experience to me personally, but I've only been here once. I liked their ventilation hoods which cleared out most of the smoke from cooking the meats. One thing I don't enjoy is going home smelling like smokey meats and I didn't smell much after our meal. This placed is name Crazy BBQ for a reason and that's for a crazy experience and crazy service. I can't rate the food because I didn't get the chance to try it, however my experience there was just freaking awful. We arrived and was greeted immediately by one of the waitress and she did an awesome job accommodating the table for us since we had three babies with us. Well another waitress came and took our order and she didn't do a great job of explaining the process for us. After taking our order she came back to try to turn on the grill, but it wasn't turning on. We told her we smelt gas coming out but the flames didn't come on. She completely ignored us and kept trying to mess with the grill. Well after multiple attempts the grill somewhat had a combustion and got into our faces. She immediately turned it off and took off running looking for help and explained to the first waitress what happened. What left us appalled by her action was that not once did she even apologized on what happened. Literally felt the heat on my forehead and eyebrows for awhile. Luckily my wife had the menu up and was covering my 4 month baby faces or there could have been some serious damages. Unfortunately, my wife stated that it was causing her eye to burn. What occurred left us in shocked and we left. I mean after multiple attempts of trying to turn the grill on and it doesn't work, just say "sorry this grill isn't working can we move you to another table" or something like that. Then with what happened, the most common decency thing to do is apologize immediately, but she didn't. I saw this place on a friends insta feed and the revolving skewers was what made me want to try this place. Me and a couple of friends went to try it out. We started with an order of spicy clams, level 2 spicy, to share. We are all Asian and we can usually handle spicy, but holy moly was this spicy. I can't imagine what level 5 would be like. We also got a few different meat skewers and then a chicken soup to share. With the clams being so spicy we weren't really able to enjoy the rest of our meal, our mouths were either on fire or overwhelmed with just the taste of spice. Next the meat skewers came out and they were good, and probably the only good part of the meal. Then finally the chicken soup came out. It was quite a unique dish, but not our taste. There was whole large potatoes and chicken bones in the dish which made it a little unappetizing. Ahh, FINALLY a lamb skewer BBQ establishment with grills at your table! My husband and I have always been complaining about skewers getting too cold soon after being served, and this place definitely alleviated that pet peeve of ours. While the skewers initially seemed pricey (5 skewers for $12.99, I think), the skewers were huge! My husband and I shared 5 lamb skewers, chive skewer (which also had a huge portion), and malatang, and they definitely filled us up. After a long shift my coworkers and I always scramble to find a place to eat, but when we discovered Crazy BBQ we stopped stressing about finding a place to eat. They have tons of BBQ selection we can cook right in front of us and tons of other menu selections for our more picky eaters. This place has it all; a fine selection of BBQ meats, soups, skewers, seafood, alcoholic beverages and many more! Interesting bbq place. The cumin spices and other herbs made this a very distince flavor profile. Not really korean bbq taste. Sausage was sweet and the soon dae (blood sausage) was different than korean soondae with more sweet rice and no chap chae noodle. It had a floral herb-esque taste that was distinct. I did not like it but somehow I kept eating it. Every bite was like me asking myself what is this herb? So more of a flavor curiosity for me. Ordered beef, lamb, pork and gizzard. Interesting table side grill concept that turns the mini skewers for you. I had fun just watching the skewers turn. Really activated the pyro in me. Ummm..yeah. Also got the pork with sweet sauce. Kinda like sweet and sour pork but a lot crunchier. Just dont let it sit too long or it gets weirdly tougher and harder. The lunch meat thin pork inside was...lunch meat thin. Still interesting to try..once. Not a bad place and good for hanging with ppl and drinking, picking food. Careful though, the price tag can easily creep up on you! I think some marinated bulgogi on the skewers would really make a nice addition but totally respect the flavor profile of this particular food region.
