Interesting bbq place. The cumin spices and other herbs made this a very distince flavor profile. Not really korean bbq taste. Sausage was sweet and the soon dae (blood sausage) was different than korean soondae with more sweet rice and no chap chae noodle. It had a floral herb-esque taste that was distinct. I did not like it but somehow I kept eating it. Every bite was like me asking myself what is this herb? So more of a flavor curiosity for me. Like the first time you smell a skunk and you know it just smells bizarre but you cant help not taking another sniff... Ok maybe just me. We ordered the 4 meat combo with soju. Ordered beef, lamb, pork and gizzard. Interesting table side grill concept that turns the mini skewers for you. I had fun just watching the skewers turn. Really activated the pyro in me. Ummm..yeah. Also got the pork with sweet sauce. Kinda like sweet and sour pork but a lot crunchier. Just dont let it sit too long or it gets weirdly tougher and harder. The lunch meat thin pork inside was...lunch meat thin. Still interesting to try..once. Not a bad place and good for hanging with ppl and drinking, picking food. Careful though, the price tag can easily creep up on you! I think some marinated bulgogi on the skewers would really make a nice addition but totally respect the flavor profile of this particular food region. Our group thought the food was possibly korean-chinese/mongolian? Anyway give it a go and explore different flavors. This place has hella identity crisis. It's a CHINESE skewer place but unseasoned meat located in Korea town with Korean workers. We ordered 20 skewer and we weren't even remotely full... what kind of rip off. I can get 10 skewer at No. 1 bbq for 5.99 AND IT IS COOKED FOR ME!!! 3. Portion. It wasn't that good. It really wasn't. Not for the price. 4. Flavor. There is seasoning for you. The whole point of chinese bbq is for you to add seasoning while you cook for everyone that doesn't know how chinese skewer works. Really love the yakitori grill master, especially the portion size of our salad and mapo tofu. Normally, I don't like eating Sichuan style mapo tofu, but they put less numbing spices and I was able to enjoy the flavor of the food. I will start at the beginning... we walk in and there was only a few tables with people seated, so not busy. However, there was a group of 4 adults and a couple children... the adults allowed the children to run around the restaurant screaming... but I figured the owner didn't do anything because they were playing with his children which he allowed to run around, scream and continually open the door allowing the wind to blow menus and just be very disruptive. If we had not already ordered our food, we would have left at this point. We decided to stay because the reviews were good. Well, the food looks good and the concept is great but the cost is very high. My hubby and I got shrimp fried rice and the lamb kabob. We chose to share since that alone was going to be about $30. The food was ok, the flavor wasn't bad but def not worth the price. Again, this place has a great concept if the price was a bit better or portions a little larger and the owner controlled his children. We will NOT be back and I encourage anyone else to NOT waste your money here. There are other places close by with similar concept and at a better value. Hope the owner reads these reviews and makes changes. Btw... with the food listed above, one Heineken and one Soju... our total was right at $50 before tip. Korean style chinese skewer/bbq joint. I like this place than many of the other chinese skewer bars, the service was excellent even though it was just one person serving every table. The skewers were super tender and juicy, and are grilled on a cool automatic rotator. The shrimp skewers were super well marinated and juicy, while maintaining a super crisp shell that I was able to easily eat. Overall probably the best kabob place so far that I've tried (over sakura, fatni, and focus). read more

Hubby and I went to eat there last night. Their menu is way over priced. For 5 beef skewers( tiny skewers) they charge 10 bucks. We ordered 5 beef skewers ,5 lamb skewers ,5 chicken skewers and one rice dish, one chicken dish, in total it was 60 something bucks. We got there hungry and left hungry too. All the 15 skewers combined I don't think would weighed half a pound. Btw, they are not Chinese bbq, I assume they are more like Korean bbq. They don't taste like Chinese bbq anyway. The taste is alright, not what I wanted but it's not bad either. I think the owner needs to realize that ripping off customers are not the way to win a business. It won't last. read more

For skewers which is main food in the restaurant, it could be better if they could get rid of the lamb/fishy smell. For fried pork, it came out in 2 minutes after I ordered, which made me think that it is pre-made food. For the soup, it was warm rather than hot.. I have been waiting for this place to open for weeks. I finally went there for lunch today. As I expected, this place is new and spotless clean. The menu offers various meats and Korean plates, including noodles. I had the skewered chicken and it was marinated in a sauce that made the chicken tender and exotic.
