Prime beef brisket and the wagyu brisket is super yum! We always go for the fatty so that it's for sure juicy and tender. The mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese was also good. Counter service was excellent. The vibe of the restaurant is good. Good for groups. We will certainly come back. read more

Tried this place finally for the first time and funny ended up going again the next week with another friend so now I feel I really got a good chance to try multiple things. Ive tried the wagyu and prime brisket. The wagyu has more fat and flavor but that prime brisket isnt bad at all. The ribs were pretty standard and good. The smoked wings were tasty and I liked the ranch here also. The black pepper and garlic sausage is DELICIOUS. My favorite. I will say, the sides i have had are decent but not great, the meat is the main star but I need the sides to be slightly better co stars. The potato salad isnt bad though. Service is great! Happy Hour is my favorite HOUR! I had been driving past this place for a while. I finally looked them up and planned a birthday happy hour for my mom. The experience was good! My friends really enjoyed themselves. We all love a good time and good deals! For food we tried the cheeseburger and smoked wings on the happy hour menu. The Cheeseburger was tasty. The cheese was melted perfectly. One note the burger has way too much lettuce. The tomatoes, onions and pickles were the perfect combination. The burger is huge and I suggest sharing it. The smoked wings were ok for me. I appreciated they gave you BBQ Sauce, Ranch and Hot Sauce. This is good for sharing too as the smoked flavor can become overwhelming. Drinks were great! Back to Oak'd for lunch. Had to try their burger. We opted for the build your own option and split an order of fries. You have to stand in the line to get to the meat area where they take an order for burgers for you. You pay for the burger and they give you a buzzer to come back and pick it up when it's ready. We decided to sit at the bar and have a beer while we waited for our burgers. they have several beers on draft, including local brews. Really wasn't much of a wait; maybe 10 minutes and our buzzers lit up. The bartender, who was also the owner, offered to get our burgers for us when the buzzers went off. He was a great guy and really wanted to make sure everything went well, which it did. The burger and fries were delicious. One of the better cheeseburgers I have had anywhere. The outsides were crispy and the insides were juicy. The best thing was the meat itself was white like a chicken breast! It's crazy but they were so freaking good. They came with buffalo sauce for dipping but I didn't need it. 5 star wings and 10 stars to that chicken farm! Meat 3 (that's it as it's not the Dallas 500) was the Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage. This one held its own against others I've had and I liked how they sliced it thin. It was better dipped in the BBQ sauce, vs. on it's own though, so it could have been juicier. Super aesthetic barn/farm/rodeo bar aesthetic that you would expect at Texas barbecue. The beef ribs are Wagyu so that means it's likely more fatty than your typical beef rib. It makes it more fattier so if you're not into super fatty meat, then I would try to get their prime instead. The ribs is very fall off the bone and the brisket is very tender as well. The Porks and Beefs were a bit on the dry side, which I attributed to it being the end of the day and they've probably been sitting in the hot box for a while. The Porks were less dry, so stick to that if you're going towards the end of the day. The 2 BBQ sauces helped a bit. The Red Skin Potato Salad was delicious! Creamy with chunks of potato and veggies made for a great texture! The Balsamic Roasted Brussel Sprouts was great textually as well. Light in Balsamic flavor. Also, if you like spicy, the spicy pickles are a must! The Smoked Wings were pretty good too. They had forgotten our wings, so they came out with a couple extra. Nice crisp exterior with tender meat. I was driving by this place and thought I would give it a chance. I'm a huge fan of St. Louis style barbecue so I decided to give a Texas place a chance. I immediate reaction is it's so very loud in here. I couldn't even hear the person sitting next to me. The additional problem is they have music playing, which also contributes to the problem. I believe I have a review already for Oak'd BBQ at a different location in Dallas...this experience was much better! Although noticeably a sausage fest....and not just the sausage they were serving....just a lot of dudes there for BBQ! It just stood out! hahaha!!! It wasn't too difficult to get a seat after getting our food, a lot of tables around the dining area and bar, big groups and even a private room for large parties. We got a seat at a table near the bar...which was nice since you have to go to two separate areas to order...one for food and one for alcohol! I'd almost wish I could place the order for my drink at the register with my food, then drop my ticket off at the bar in a central area for them to grab it and let me know when it's ready or bring it to me. It's difficult when there are people sitting at the bar and your trying to get around them to order a drink. The system obviously works, we got drinks no problem! The wings....the smoked wings...my favorite and I will definitely be getting them the next time I am in town and go to Oak'd and they have them!! So good, juicy, tender and full of flavor!! The sides are a pass for me...both at this location and the other one I went too...just not in to it. I'll be sticking to the meats and pies!! Start by reading the super large chalkboard menu in front of you - then order your meats. I tried Brisket and the Meatloaf - which was the SUPERSTAR of the meal! Loved every bite of that meatloaf...next time I am going to focus more on the meatloaf so I can get a larger portion. You add two sides, included - or more if you want - and there are so many to choose from. I did the veggies w/squash and the Brussels Sprouts. I passed on any bread, since being diabetic causes bread to make my sugar spike! You can order non-alcoholic drinks right there with your food - but if you want cocktails, etc., then you need to go to the bar and it's separate. I wish I had gotten the video of the manager as I walked in. He was very personable and not to mention funny! This was my first time here, and I decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was awesome as well. She explained the happy hour options although we weren't there for happy hour, and also told us about the amazing alcohol selection that they had to offer. I had the smoked wings and OMG these wings are amazing! I also had a side of Brussels and cauliflower mix and it was delicious. Both sauces were good but the mustard base was very vinegar heavy. The Ribs Again, nice smoke. No finishing glaze. Tender and good. A dip in the sauce made experience enjoyable. The Sides and Dessert The potato salad was calling my name today and it didn't disappoint. Really good. Toughest decision today was choosing a dessert. I asked the meat guy what did he recommend and it was the wagyu brisket and the jalapeño sausage. The bbq itself was good, and sides were great, but dessert selection looked better than it tasted (sad and def disappointed) You line up to order cafeteria style and the staff down the line were all very entertaining and friendly. You do get a few cookie in exchange for a Google review so there was an upside there but most of the dessert was really overly sweet. The restaurant is pretty casual and they let us stay late after they closed, since we had a larger party of people there. read more
