When in Texas, BBQ is the way to go. I ordered wagyu briskets, pork ribs and stuffed jalapeño wrapped in bacon. For the sides, i had the brussels sprouts and coleslaw. The Brussels were so good. They put dried berries and almonds in it. The briskets were so juicy and tender. The only disappointment was when i got the meat, they were towards the cold side.

Overall, I dont think I will come back. The service was great, staff members were super nice but the food was pretty disappointing. Ordered: beef burnt ends, wagyu brisket, brisket (moist), sausage, mac and cheese and potato salad. When they were silcing the briskets, it looked delicious since you could see how moist it was. But, it ended up being very dry and lacked flavor. Burnt ends were hard and super chewy. The sausage was the only meat that was solid. The side dishes were decent. Considering all the other BBQs available, this was disappointing.

So, this is my first time here at this location, and I've been meaning to try it. It's a barbecue place, and I'm really glad I came in. The people in line are amazing--very friendly and energetic. They make you feel welcome and give off good vibes. I ordered the three-meat plate with brisket, turkey, and sausage, and then the guy asked, "Do you wanna try a Texas Twinkie?" It's a jalapeño stuffed with brisket and cream cheese, wrapped in Wagyu meat. Oh my God, it was so damn good--I wanted to get another one. This is a must-try. The brisket was tender and flavorful, the mac and cheese was delicious, and so were the beans. I sat down at the bar. They have a full bar with beer on tap and can mix good classic cocktails. Kevin is an amazing bartender; he made me a negroni and an old-fashioned--full of energy, a great guy. So if you're in the Greenville area and want some good barbecue, come out and try them. I guarantee you'll love this place--you won't regret it. It's a nice, chill vibe with good energy. Oh, and they also have an outdoor patio.

We've been going to Oak'd for several years now and I had previously reviewed it, giving it very high marks in all areas. In fact, I was not even planning on writing this review, but today's dining experience cannot go without my sharing some thoughts on it. Over the years, we've always enjoyed Oak'd and even felt comfortable and confident enough in the quality of food to invite out of town guests to join us for some good Texas BBQ at Oak'd Prior to today's visit, our most recent visit was about six months ago, and even then we noticed a little slippage in quality. Although then it had mostly to do with the Sides and not so much to do with meat offerings. Today, it was everything, except the service and staff which as always, was excellent! Today, we sought to order a Beef Rib, but the Ribs were about two hours out from being ready, so at the recommendation of the Meat Man doing the carving, we opted for variety; my wife ordered the Two Meat Plate and I had the Three Meat. My wife chose a double portion of "moist" Wagyu Brisket from the "Point," and I ordered moist Wagyu Brisket, the Garlic and Black Pepper Sausage Link and, Pork Spare Ribs. Sadly and much to our dismay, all of the moist Brisket lost almost all of its moistness and succulence by the time we reached our table! Likewise, the Spare Ribs ended up also being more on the dry side, rather than moist and tasty. The Garlic-Black Pepper Sausage was tasty and ended up being the highlight of my meal. For Sides, my wife and I shared Balsamic Roasted Brussel Sprouts, Roasted Cauliflower, BBQ Baked Beans, Collard Greens, and Apple Cider Coleslaw. The Brussel Sprouts had little flavor from the Balsamic seasoning and were quite drenched and oily/greasy. The Cauliflower was hit and miss, with some pieces over-done. The Beans were heavy on the jalapeño spice, about a "3" on the heat scale for me, a "5" for my wife. The Beans were not what I would consider "BBQ Baked," because there was no real sweetness to them, at all. It could be, that in the past the Beans were exactly like they were today and I just ate them without really expecting any sweetness, since I do like Charro Beans (and the Beans at Oak'd are somewhat flavored like Charros), and previously, I was not missing any sweetness in the meal overall. Today, however, I was missing the sweetness, because the BBQ Sauce was strong in vinegar/acidity and totally lacked sweetness. So, I was yearning for something sweet and it just never really came! I hoped for sweetness in the Coleslaw, but that too was only minimally sweet, before being overpowered by the taste of apple cider vinegar. And, because neither the BBQ Sauce nor the Beans, nor the Coleslaw had any real sweetness to them, I totally left my Dill Pickle Chips alone and untouched. And, I as well held off dousing some vinegar over my Greens, as I normally would, because I was just done with the acidity level of the meal. Flavor-wise, I think I would have enjoyed the Greens, were I to be eating them apart from the meal with say, a slice of cornbread. But, that wasn't on the menu today. In addition to that above, the regular BBQ Sauce was also a little bit spicy; about a "1" on the heat scale. I'm not really a fan of Carolina (Mustard-based) Sauce but, to me, even the Carolina Sauce had a hint more sweetness than the regular Sauce. I was really taken aback! It is noteworthy that the Dill Chips, Onion Slices, and Freshly Sliced Jalapeño that I received were all very fresh! But, I only ate a little of the Onions and Jalapeño Slices. I would like to think and hope that today's experience at Oak'd was an anomaly or one off, but most of what we experienced seemed more like failings in quality control. And with that, it will likely take a serious hankering for BBQ and us being in the neighborhood, to make us want to eat at Oak'd again... at least for a long while. I hope should you give Oak'd a try, there will have been some attention given to quality control, including verifying some recipes to ensure flavor profiles are up to par. As mentioned, the staff at Oak'd is and always has been great, so for their sake I would like to see this business succeed! Best of luck, should you give it a go! Eat well. Be well. Cheers!

Of course I had to try the four meat combo on my first visit to Oak'd. i got brisket, burnt ends, pulled pork, and turkey. The other three were good (burnt ends a little dry), but I mist say the turkey was great! It tasted like there was a savory marinade applied before smoking the turkey breast. I like that they cut all of the meat right in front of you as well. The team was friendly, but a little more reserved than generally at restaurants. Being a weekday at lunchtime, the dining area was a bit slower than expected, but still clean and well kept.

Amazing BBQ spot with generous portion sizes and tons of meat and sides options. Ordering is done at the counter and you can buy meats by the pound or as a plate with 2-4 meats and 2 sides for dine in or takeout. We got the brisket, ribs, and burnt ends. The brisket was the highlight of the meal, it was so incredibly juicy and tender, decided to get an extra portion the moment they sliced into it. For sides, there's a range of hot and cold sides. We got baked beans which were very hearty and cucumber salad was a light, refreshing touch to this BBQ plate. Beyond the food, this restaurant is very down to earth with self seating indoors, outdoor on the patio, or at the bar. No worrying about servers interrupting you mid chew. Overall this is an incredible spot for a great BBQ meal and I'm looking forward to coming back for more of their amazing brisket.

This place hit the spot! My family wanted TX BBQ while visiting, and OAK'D made for the perfect experience: the food was delicious, the service was friendly and helpful, and they had a nice bar selection.

I've been to just about every DFW bbq restaurant and this is by far the BEST BBQ place. The brisket was tender!! It's prime meat or wagyu which makes a tremendous difference in comparison to choice or select quality of meat. The brisket was tender, juice and perfection. Same with the chicken. 10 out of 10. Excellent work! When you walk in to the restaurant, you order your food and they serve you. Then you take your plate and sit wherever. They do not have servers so you are responsible to take your dirty tray and put it up which is great. The atmosphere is great for large parties and the outdoor patio is also nice during warm weather days. We also got the pecan pie, definitely homemade and that was also exceptional! I highly recommend this BBQ restaurant you won't be disappointed!

Texas BBQ at its finest! The chopped brisket and spicy bbq sauce were on point. Not an ounce of fat, but chock full of flavor. It's obvious that the pit master takes pride in his/her craft. We also loved the Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes which were mouthwateringly delicious. Clean, fantastic service and as authentic as it gets. Plus bonus points for parking. Thank you for a phenomenal experience!

Went during lunch time and there was no line compared to other bbq places in Dallas. The sausage was amazing however the brisket was quite expensive for what we received. It looked really juicy but the taste didn't match. A nice place to relax and grab a drink.

Texas BBQ in the homeland of BBQ Parking: Easy! Lots of space as it is in a strip mall of sorts Drinks: Went for lunch and we had lemonade. Was quite good! Food: sooooo many options. We had wagyu brisket, regular brisket, sausage, Mac and cheese, collared greens, Brussels sprouts, pork ribs and French fries. Yes...a feast at lunch! Everything tasted delicious. I felt my wagyu was a bit too fatty but everyone else loved it. The Mac and cheese was AMAZING!!! I also appreciated that they served the Brussel sprouts without bacon. They also had beef ribs available for those who don't eat pork. Service: one of the guys behind the serving area seemed to be annoyed we had so many questions. We aren't from Texas and were just visiting so would have liked him to be a bit more understanding. The rest of the folks were super nice so we quickly forgot about the grumpy cat. Atmosphere/vibe: went for lunch. It was fairly empty but that was just fine with us! Age group: I'd imagine all! Bathroom: worked and was clean so A+ from me! Return: sure!

Me and my family were visiting Dallas and decided to try oak'd and I can tell you that it is worth the hype. We got the 3 meat family platter and it was amazing, the wagyu brisket was so tender and juicy. Great customer service, great food, what more can you ask for!

Ordered Turkey, Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage and Mac and Cheese on the 2 meat combo plate. First off, that was $27 which I thought was rather high but with the hype I thought it might be worth it. The turkey was tender and juicy and rather flavorful, except for the end piece of turkey breast (I assume) with the skin side which was extremely tough. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was okay, but it didn't really retain either the jalapeño, cheddar, or the smoky taste which I thought was disappointing. The Mac and Cheese had bacon bits on it which were nice and crispy but the Mac and Cheese wasn't very rich or complex flavor wise, which I found slightly underwhelming. The sauce was super runny and while it had flavor, I never think having to put sauce on stuff to give it flavor is the answer. All that being said, for $27 I wasn't going to leave anything on the plate. The service I thought was rather hands off and I'm surprised nobody came and checked on us although that may be just how things are. The ambiance was cool with old license plates and pictures along with some cool western themed things up on the walls to make it seem warm and homey. All in all, I was left with the feeling that there should've been more and I was kinda disappointed after all the hype I've seen and all the gravitas that the name Pecan Lodge carries with it. I'd say probably a 6.5-7/10 so that lands me at 3 stars because it really didn't feel 4 star worthy.

Once it's your turn, they will slice your meat to order. I forgot to ask for fatty brisket the last time I went, and they were nice enough to slice it for me. Once your meat is weighed, you get your sides and desserts. Great system - I hope they don't change a thing. 1 Star, Food - I think I figured out why each of my visits to Kafi BBQ haven't been as good as others'. Because the next day when I heat up my leftovers, the brisket is amazing. Kafi BBQ's food sits under a heat lamp. If you visit later in the day when the brisket and ribs have been sitting out, your meat will be dry. All my visits have been the same, and I had to dip it in BBQ sauce (you may or may not like it). Same goes for the sides, the fries sound amazing, but each time I ordered them they had been sitting out. Now, the next day when I reheat the brisket (put it in an oven for 45 min at 225 degrees), it's some of the best brisket in all of North Texas. Heads up! Wagyu brisket comes at a price. I usually spend $100+ for me and my son. 1/2 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. Salahodeen continues to hone this craft. Each visit continues to offer a new experience. While Kafi BBQ is only open Thursday - Sunday, it's still one of the most unique Texas-style BBQ joints (with a Halal twist) in all of North Texas. 1 Star.
