I have always enjoyed Celebration restaurant on Lovers Ln. We normally dine in and ordered to go last evening. They did miss giving us the okra and green beans as we ordered. Food was sub par. They should be checking the to go orders twice or more to ensure they're correct. However, I notice on the receipt a charge for To Go Packaging Fee of (5.00%). I find that interesting because when dining in the restaurant we have taken left overs and they placed them in to go containers with no fee. We went to Celebration for dinner with family during a recent trip to the Big D... venerable old school place, around for decades. The table ordered soup, fried chicken, fried catfish, baked chicken, grilled salmon, and a handful of sides. The lentil soup was very good, but everything else was just OK! None of the food was particularly hot, and with fried food, it's gotta be hot! The veggie sides were warm at best... seemed most of the food was cooked in advance, which allowed for speedy delivery, but quality suffered. Despite living in Dallas my whole life, this was my first time at Celebration. It's been awhile since going to Celebration's but when it comes to good homemade comfort food just go ahead and a trip to Celebration ! My friend pork chop was huge but wasn't cooked completely but Lucy took it back and quickly returned with pork chops cooked to perfection ! Lucy suggested dessert and why not it's all homemade ! Unfortunately, a lot of things have changed about the Celebration Restaurant I used to love. They took away the lemon herb chicken, took away the TexMex brown rice, which was so unique, not even sure if the Jamaican jerk chicken is on the menu anymore. I guess the owners kids decided to redo the place, but looked fine as it was before, that nostalgia why many people came back. sad is that the owners also don't even address these reviews which are totally legitimate. I returned hoping I'd have a better experience but the food is still bland. Maybe I'm ordering the wrong items. I ordered the fried chicken breast with gravy, broccoli, mashed potatoes and they weren't flavorful. It was disheartening but the service was wonderful. Our server was so patient because we had a big party with kids. The best part of lunch was the bread basket. Definitely not as good as in years past, unfortunately. That said, the French onion soup was excellent - sweet onions with a lot of flavor, the fried okra was even better. Fresh, hot, crispy, and perfectly salty, and the basket of fresh bread had a wide variety and it was all warm. Our server was outstanding. We had a party of 9 and he was on top of it the whole time we were there. Otherwise, the fried catfish was more breading than fish, it was hot but on the soft, almost soggy side, and over cooked. The chicken fried steak also wasn't great. The blueberry cobbler was cold and tasted stale. They did have decaf that tasted reasonably fresh but it wasn't hot. read more

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the food was good. The service was horrible. We got no drink refills, no one cleared the table and there were dishes covering the whole thing. The manager even stopped by and said he would be right back to clear some dishes and bring a to-go box, and he never returned. This was our FIRST and last time coming here. read more

We have come to this location many times and it never disappoints. It combines Southern cooking with the idea of fresh farm to table ingredients. The service was prompt. The Meatloaf was delicious and tasted just like when I was a kid. We also had the Fried Chicken. It was delicious. We went to the Flight Museum and since Celebration was nearby and has been on my "want to go" list for a while, we went there for lunch. There was about a 15-20 minute wait, but the bar area was available. We sat at the bar and ate. It was such a friendly relaxed atmosphere. The bartenders/servers were are very friendly and helpful. All of our meals were delicious and we were all happy that we made the decision to have lunch there. The menu is quite extensive and they have a nice, well stocked bar. Definitely a spot I would like to go back to, to try other dishes. The restaurant is pretty large, with lots of little rooms, and there is a nice, large outdoor eating area. last night was the first time I've ever been disappointed in Celebration. My husband and I arrived just before 6 o'clock, they my server section was sat all at once with back to back tables and she could not keep up which I understand. But you couldn't get anything you couldn't get refills. Twice my husband asked for A1 sauce and was brought almost empty bottle each time. The initial mashed potatoes were barely enough for one person so when we asked for more we didn't get them until we were getting our food to go and she said do you still want the mashed potatoes? Yes, yes, I do. She seemed to realize the service was bad, but no apology was made. Hopefully this was just a very off night, but it doesn't make me want to hurry back. read more

Had lunch here today and it was delicious. Super healthy farm to table options and of course they've got plenty of indulging type options! I got the blackened catfish and the cauliflower and broccoli as sides. Everything was super tasty but I was most impressed with the veggies. Very well flavored and just delicious. What a wonderful experience we had at Celebration. We had reservations for seven guests and we were seated in our own private room at a round table that could seat eight. We experienced some of the best service and most friendly service you could imagine. This is a farm to table restaurant and everything we all ordered was fabulous. Most of their entrées were unbelievably priced at under $20. The vegetables are served family style and you get to choose three so by consensus we decided on the three that we would order. We ordered mashed potatoes, new potatoes, and broccoli. All the vegetables were cooked perfectly with just a touch of firmness and my personal peeve is broccoli that is so overcooked that is mushy.This was not that. And we actually ended up getting squash as well. I ordered the pot roast which was a very generous portion. The meat was so tender and juicy and served with several pieces of carrot, onion and a generous side of Au Jus. my entrée was also accompanied by either a soup, salad or fruit cup. I ordered the salad and it was fresh with no hint of being wilted and a balsamic vinaigrette dressing which was delicious. And remember this was all under $20. We ordered three different desserts and shared them, the peach cobbler served warm with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, the bread pudding which was our least favorite yet still delicious, and coconut cream pie. I went to celebration for a girls organization event. The restaurant looks almost like a home with lots of small rooms. We definitely liked the privacy. I ordered the turkey and dressing. My sides were mash potatoes and a salad. I highly recommend the cucumber dressing for the salad. It was delicious! The rest of the meal was good and all the other ladies enjoyed theirs as well. I can't believe it. But it's been fifty years since I first dined at Celebration Restaurant! Not many restaurants in the Dallas area can say they've been in business that long. When I first went there they had a house next door that sold leather jackets and accessories. In time they closed their leatherware business, and expanded the size of the dining area. They also built a bar that now joins the two adjacent buildings, and they began offering catering. There have been several changes over the years. But one thing that has never changed is the good food they serve, and they way they serve it "homestyle". That is to say, they bring out bowls of side dishes with your entree, and you serve yourself. My favorite menu item is their pot roast. Years ago you could order a second entree of equal or lesser value at no extra charge. Sadly, inflation put a stop to that. However, for a few dollars extra you can still order a second entree of your choosing if you're still hungry. [[HIGHLIGHT]]For a cozy and quieter dining experience for two, ask to be seated in the "Old Booths" on the west side of the restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In a sea of chain restaurants, Celebration is truly unique and well worth a visit. read more

I came here with a group of women for our founders day celebration last year after always wanting to try Celebration and hearing good things about it. We were able to make a reservation and got our own room for our weekend lunch. The service was not the best, and my lemonade was just lemon water, but the food was pretty good and everyone enjoyed the variety. We were able to pick an entrée and three sides and for the price it was a good deal. I highly suggest the sweet potato casserole. We plan to go back again this year. read more

This restaurant seems to be a north Dallas legend. It has been under operation for many decades. They have been serving farm to table before it became a brunch trend. A gem tucked away near the Dallas Love Field airport (literally 7 minutes away). This is the place to fulfill your southern comfort food cravings. You also get your own private booth (and they also have private sections for large parties) to have a private and more intimate experience. The way their menu works is you pick an entree, and each of them comes with 3 side dishes. The exciting thing is the side dishes includes items such as gumbo, beef soup, mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes, and more! It's barely a side dishes it feels like you're getting 3 appetizers on the side. I got the chicken fried steak with gumbo, zucchini squash mix, and the green bean mushroom mix. Did I mention they start you with complimentary variety of breads? In the basket , you can expect corn bread, butter rolls, and muffins. I was impressed with everything I had except the chicken fried steak. (Unfortunately). The beef was overcooked and very dry and tough. It also tasted like it has been sitting out for awhile and not fresh anymore. The breading was delicious though and I liked the jalapeño gravy. Even though the chicken fried steak was a let down, everything else amazed me I would still come back but try a different entree. I can't recall what allergen was in the salad but I asked the server to please not give me any and he brought out a plate just for me with none of the nut that it came with.
