We drove 20 miles to come see Erick and Not just Q. We were looking for someplace nice and local to get some BBQ and they showed up as our best option. We are super glad that we were able to make it out here, the people were so kind and nice to us and even hooked us up with a little gift as they were parting for the evening. We got the brisket that was the juiciest brisket we've ever tasted, and it was end of the evening for them. I can only imagine how juicy it is in the beginning of the evening. The chicken was slightly dry, but understandable for the fact that it was the last order of the day. They totally compensated for it by giving us some sausage so I'm not mad. Sausage was juicy and delicious and had a little kick to it. The Mac and cheese was good but nothing to boast about, it was our least favorite item on the plate. The cheese corn was so phenomenal that we ate every last bite and even licked it clean, we believe it should be illegal! The roll was a normal, I think store bought. Their BBQ sauce has a kick to it but it is out of this world delicious. All in all, excellent experience and we will be back. Thanks Erick. :)

Name is correct: THIS IS NOT JUST BARBECUE. Come for the meat but do not skip the sides. I usually reserve judgement of a barbecue place until I've been to it at least twice. This is my twice. First time I just got ribs and brisket. They were better than average--enough to come back. But... This is a Kansas City-esque Style BBQ establishment--self-described as Kansas City with a Texas twist. So my Kansas City Barbecue Society credentials had my attention piqued. I wore a Chiefs shirt this time, and the guy behind the counter engaged me in conversation. He knows his barbecue and it shows in the food. So I took his recommendation for today's selection: Pulled Pork sandwich with a side of Cheesy Corn. Carolina-style pulled-pork sandwich means it comes with slaw and mustard-based sauce. I politely asked to leave those off, but after he explained these have a Texas twist, I asked for them on the side. I'm so glad I did. The pork would've been overwhelmed by the flavors, and it's too good to cover up! But don't miss the slaw! Vinegar instead of mayo, and amazing, fresh crunch and flavors of the ingredients with a hint of spice to elevate the experience from "meh" to "yum!" The Cheesy Corn has a Texas Twist on a favorite from a famous Kansas City icon. Get it. BUT. THE. BEANS. He gave me a sample of the Smoked Pit Beans. This place is aptly named "Not Just Q" because of sides like this. Not the normal pintos commonly used in Texas, a properly-heavy dose of brown sugar, a complex spice (later identified as their rub seasoning), and some meat thrown in as the true mark of authenticity. COME FOR THE MEAT BUT DO NOT SKIP THE SIDES.

I'm not a big fan of BBQ but everything from this place was mouth-watering deliciousness!!! I was at the Truck Yard in Lower Greenville and they happened to be around. I ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs, pulled pork nachos, and 2 meat meal with jalapeno sausage and brisket. The ribs had a nice smoky flavor to it and was full of flavor. The nachos were a bit on the small side but everything in it was great - definitely order it with the pulled pork! The brisket meat was soft and succulent. And the jalapeno sausage was spicy and had a nice kick to it! I'm salivating as I write this review!!! Lol I can't wait to try out this place again!!!

Chicken Plate, Rib Plate, Cheesy Corn, Potato Salad, Smoked Pit Beans, and Sweet Potato Casserole. Yum!

I am glad there is a BBQ option inside of Crockett Row because what Texan doesn't love BBQ, right?! Not Just Q is certified BBQ. I was really interested after reading the reviews and must say that this place lives up to most of the stars they've received. We ordered a rack of ribs, chicken breast, and tried at least four sides. There have been a few occasions, more than a few, where the sides don't measure up to the BBQ but this was NOT one of those occasions. These sides rock! Like, literally all of them were tasty! We ordered Potato Salad (very flavorful), Sweet Potato Casserole (actually sweet & has pecans), Cheesy Corn (probably one of my faves), and BBQ Beans (spicy/sweet with bits of meat). The BBQ could've been better if it had been fresher. I don't BBQ and am not a BBQ restaurant owner but this is a common problem I've encountered when visiting BBQ spots later in the day. The meat is just drier and I'd rather not have to douse it in BBQ sauce to resurrect it, as this method doesn't always work, lol. I can tell it taste good but was just a tad bit lackluster. I'm not opposed to returning from another go! I love they have vintage glass soda bottles and different options like tacos. We will definitely be back to go another round at Not Just Q.

I was excited to come out to the Truck Yard. So many times I had signed up to come and then something happened and I would change my mind on going. Well this time JaeBae drug me out. We've been on the hunt for the best BBQ and Pizza in the Metroplex. I'll share what we've come up with at the end of this review. We sampled the chicken, ribs and sausage. Also had some of those baked beans *insert eyebrows moving up and down* Let's talk about the beans. The Smoked Pit Beans are not your regular idea of baked beans. This cup of beans is packed with flavor. Tid bits of meat and smokey flavor. I'm not gonna lie... I let him have some but I pretty much killed them on my own. I can't say that i was in favor of the sausage. It seemed extremely juicy like so juicy that it was pumped and the texture was chewy. I personally prefer a dryer sausage providing a leaner texture, but that's just preference. The RIBS!!! and chicken were both phenomenal. Holy crap the ribs! The website says that the meat is delicious, savory and flavorful and damnit... they're right. Overall Not Just Q is in our top 5 for BBQ, but we just aren't 100% sure between Hard Eight and Not Just Q is the winner. They both pack a pretty powerful punch. Two things I didn't like is 1) they dont do samples. I wanted to try the cheesy corn but the idea sounded a bit far fetched to me. I would've preferred a sample. However, I can't wait to return to try it and the brisket that they didn't have any of. And that's problem #2. It pisses people off when McDonald's ice cream machine is broken down or when a BBQ doesn't have any particular meat. What makes it worse is it was a Saturday. I feel like you should know your average numbers for Saturday and then add on to the average. Maybe they do it already but I don't want to go back to that window and hear there isn't anymore more brisket.

I have recently relocated from Nashville, TN to Fort Worth and I have been on the hunt for great BBQ and I have found the spot. I have eaten here twice and both times my meals were delicious. My favorite meat so for is the burnt ends, they are only available on the weekends. They had the perfect balance of meat and fat full of flavor. the smoke pit beans are the bomb. Sweet and spicy. The pull pork sandwich was great too. You will not be disappointed in your decision to eat here.

What a great find in the food hall!!! Brisket and sausage are my top picks for meat. If they have pozole you gotta try it! This is the real deal when it comes to bbq! Grab a mimosa at the bar and then spend a lazy Sunday grazing on some excellent bbq!

The Texas Twinkie is a jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese and brisket and wrapped in bacon. It was my favorite item as the cream cheese and bacon balanced out the spiciness of the jalapeño. The mac n cheese was also delicious with the perfect amount of spice. The service was great too as they made a mistake on my order and quickly corrected it. My memories of the farmers market area of Dallas Texas are some of my earliest. Going back decades to when it was an actual farmers market. You know, where farmers load trucks of fresh produce and travel 10s or hundreds of miles in order to sell the fruits of their labor and make a living. Well, starting about 40 years ago, that small farmer ethos started fading and the powers that be implemented a Farmers Market Redevelopment Plan. Bingo, that's where we are today. A popular multiuse, living, working, resturant, shopping district that's self sustaining on the edge of downtown. Enter Hurtado and another startegiclly placed outpost for their award winning Texas BBQ with a twist. Located in a new architecturally pleasing building, the only potential barrier between you and the brisket is parking. On my Tuesday lunch this wasn't a problem but at busier times, keep this in mind. We took a comfortable booth and only wait ed a few minutes ( long enough for our delicious hand cut fries to cook) before our "El Jeffe" was delivered to our table. After the drooling stopped we dove in sharing, brisket, ribs, hatch Chili Mac n cheese, brisket beans, bread, pulled pork, burnt ends, hand cut fries and Texas Twinkies. The food here is excellent.
