2 Meat and 3 Sides (links & chopped beef w/Mac & cheese)

How this place only has 8 reviews is beyond me bc Mama's is the BOMB!!! Ordered fm DoorDash and everything arrived hot, fresh & made to order. The 2 meat/3 side plate and loaded baked potato were beyond delicious and the portions are HUGE! Prices are very reasonable. I got the links and chopped beef w/3 sides of mac&cheese and it will make 2-3 meals! Don't walk, run to eat here!

We used Lil Mama's for our son's wedding rehearsal dinner. I coordinated from California to feed 40 people. Here are the positives: 1) pricing was clearly the best of the five I checked, including Terry Black. 2) Flavors were great 3) The portions reminded us that we're in Texas. Leftovers galore!! 4) Friendly service

If you live a good funky dark dive bar with Norm & Cliff regulars...this is the joint. Old fashioned made by Patrick the bartender, was lovely. Smooth, mild and so easy to drink. Music was a little blues, a little rock. Nothing to well known that it would alienate people. They have a small tv above the bar that plays VHS tapes--kitsch vibe. Robin Hood (Disney version with foxes) was playing when I got there. Food is small bites, likely made for folks to eat quick and bolt. I tried the deviled eggs du jour--something "Philly" which was smoked salmon, cream cheese, hot mustard (I think), pickled onions, pickled cucumber and some Asian sweet sauce. All of the flavors complement each other. Super yummy. Also got the house made potato chips. It came with scratch made onion dip and a little dish of pimento cheese (made from scratch) topped with that sweet Asian sauce. I did not love the sweet sauce on the pimento cheese. No sweet please on the pimento. Onion dip was nice since you could tell the onions were not rehydrated from a box. Needed a little more flavor...salt, pepper, any kind of spice? I also ordered an espresso martini. Too sweet for my taste. Maybe I was on a savory kick and was judgmental of sweet things? All in all--4 stars because of the vibe. Loved this funky place and all the patrons.

While looking for a bite and a drink before heading to Fair Park for a show some friends had heard…read moreabout and suggested RAYO and I am happy to report it slaps on every single level. Walk in and make your way to the bar to place your order (re: that is both drinks and food). They not only have a full bar but also a great selection of craft and local beers. I kicked things off with an IPA and we placed our food orders. This place has a kitchen that is rockin' and has several vegetarian options that are not your standard veggie food. I couldn't decide so I ordered too much: Tofu Ruben, The McFib, and a side of fries "for the table" but lets be real-I ate almost all of them. After a brief wait my order came out and everything was fresh and steaming hot. I enjoyed everything I had to eat but no lies, their McFib was the star of the show and next time I'm going to order two or three of those suckers (side note: sliders come out as a single item per order). Service was great! The bartenders were very knowledgeable and happy to offer up suggestions and you can tell by the quality that the kitchen takes pride in what it does. Bonus was how great the place was decorated, we went mid-Dec and the whole place was decked out in festive holiday garb. Parking is mostly street parking or paid lots, that is: no private parking lot that I am aware of and the location being directly across from Fair Park means that from here on out this will be our go-to spot to grab a drink and dinner before heading to see any of the shows at the Music Hall at Fair Park. Cheers and see ya again real soon.

After a long day in transit, all we wanted was something deeply satisfying, the kind of meal that feels like a reward. When my mother suggested Aunt Irene's Kitchen, there was no hesitation. She spoke of it with the reverence reserved for places that become part of your personal geography former neighborhood staples, the kind you measure other meals against. Years ago, when she lived nearby, this was her spot. And now, standing beside her in a line that stretched out the door, it was clear we weren't the only ones holding onto that sentiment. The queue moved with surprising ease, a quiet efficiency that felt almost practiced. Inside, the energy was unpretentious and steady. Our cashier, while not particularly warm, was brisk and knowledgeable answering questions with the kind of clarity that suggests confidence in the product more than performance. We ordered simply: wings with fries, and two plates of fried fish with fries. The wings hadn't been part of the original plan, but a fellow patron mid-meal and visibly excited leaned over to insist. It felt like advice worth taking. And it was. The food arrived in its own time this is not a place for the impatient but what it lacked in speed, it more than made up for in flavor. The fish was crisp and tender, the wings richly seasoned, each bite layered with the kind of depth that doesn't rush itself. Then there was the jalapeño tucked alongside the plate like a quiet signature. It cut through the richness with a bright, deliberate heat, a small but memorable detail that elevated the entire experience. The dining room itself is modest and well-kept, with many opting to take their meals to-go or retreat to their cars. There's an ease to it all ample parking, friendly faces coming and going, a sense of community that lingers longer than the wait. Because that's the thing about places like this: they don't just feed you, they remind you why the wait was worth it.

The shrimp and wing box was massive. Wings so good they didn't even need the lemon pepper sauce that it came with. The shrimp was addicting. I found myself regretting not getting an additional order of shrimp. (I will next time). The order came with a side of 2 pieces of well seasoned Cajun flavored corn and potato pieces that were covered with a hefty amount of cheese. A Dallas gem for sure.
