I'd heard a lot about Hurtado BBQ and was eager to try it. World Cup fever was alive and well in Dallas but when we visited there was no line and we were able to order immediately. Staff was very friendly and helpful with ordering. The spectacular: Service, cleanliness of the restaurant, staff floating to check on you, prices were on par with other places. The brisket was definitely the star of the show for me. The good: The turkey was very tasty and juicy. I could have used more smoke flavoring but that is just a preference and not a knock on it. My girl loved it. The queso was really good as well. The ok: Mac and cheese was kind of just there. Didn't love but didn't hate it either. The miss: Was not offered bread, onions, pickles or jalapeños. Had to ask for all three and then only received two pieces of bread and a tiny helping of pickles and onions but zero jalapeños. The chicken was very sticky with the sauce used and the inside looked red and almost raw. We didn't finish it. I'd go back, but would be very focused on the brisket and maybe the puerco and/or sausage. Gives me a future Rudy's vibe but that's not hating on it at all. Just a chain that will be consistent.

I came in on Wednesday 30 minutes before closing and they still had everything I ordered available. First time trying it so I ordered a bit of everything. Here's my list: Tater tot casserole, cornbread, Mac and cheese, green beans, tres leches banana pudding, birria taco, and Texas Twinkie. My favorites were the tater tot casserole, Mac and cheese, and tres leches banana pudding. Least favorites: The cornbread was super dry. The birria taco was missing something. I would still return because meal overall was tasty. I'd like to try more of their meat items next time.

Really nice BBQ place in Dallas downtown area with nice marketplace area to walk around. I went with the 3 meats option and had Ribs, Brisket and Spicy sausage. with a side of Brisket baked beans, and the delicious Mac and cheese. Each item was as good as the next! We were 8 and we all had similar items. Everyone loved the food and nice outdoor and indoor space. Dog friendly with cool inside and fans outside. nice and clean!

Ambiance: 10/10 Good ole industrial style joint with benches and wood and metal aesthetics. Its large so you dont feel claustrophobic and a cool outdoor patio. They have really nice hand soap and lotion in the bathroom - a extra perk IMO! Parking in front in the lot you have to pay for which booo but worth it. DO PAY!!! There are cameras and even if no one is handing out tickets they will mail you one. This is not owned by Hurtado to be clear Service: 20/10 I PROMISE if you go in a Monday and sit at the bar, YESENIA will change your mind on your new favorite Monday go to for HH or dinner. She is freaking awesome Food: 10/10 honestly my favorite bbq joint. From the meats to the sides and drinks. Community tea, so a nice stringer brew i like! Its rare to find a bbq joint that has delicious sides AND delish meats. Yummmmmm When you order sliced brisket they ask if you want moist (with fat) or lean. The poblano sausage (beef) is so good. Try their HG brisket quesadillas!!!! Brisket heavy and excellent for the price. I love all their sides. My fave is the bacon ranch potato salad. Their mac n cheese is really good but not my go to. Their corn mixed with the mac n cheese or potato salad is yummers too Listen, just do yourself a favor and "treat yo self" to Hurtado's. Dont walk, RUN out the door to get there

4.5/5 Super chill, casual spot with a country-style setup. There's a bar on one side if you want drinks to go with your barbecue, and the food side operates separately with its own menu and cashier. Had to try Texas barbecue while in Dallas, and this place offers both traditional BBQ and Tex-Mex options, which made choosing tough. I went with the two-meat platter and tried the brisket and burnt ends. My food came out fast, around five minutes. The burnt ends were the standout. Juicy, tender, and very flavorful. Definitely not dry or burnt despite the name. The brisket was also tender, though slightly less seasoned throughout. They offer a variety of barbecue sauces, but honestly the meat didn't need them. For sides, I had the street corn and loaded potatoes. The street corn was a bit too creamy for my taste but still good. The loaded potatoes were more like mashed potatoes with skins and cheese mixed in. Tasty, but I personally preferred the corn. The platter is very filling and could be shared. Staff was friendly and welcoming. I came in around 8:00 p.m. and even close to their 9:00 p.m. closing time, there was still a steady flow of customers. Overall, a solid BBQ stop.

I went all in and it was worth it! Got the Four Sixes Ranch brisket which was super tender and full of flavor. I also tried the jalapeño sausage, bacon burnt ends, elote, and potato salad... Everything was on point.

Daaang this was so good!!! Super tasty, all the classics were done so well. The Texas Twinkie was out of this world and yes super salty and greasy and perfect. They do tortillas instead of bread which isnt my preference but I'm sure lots of people like that. Plenty of street parking, interior is huge

The folks were really nice but the bbq was just ok. If youre looking for bbq at the market and dont want to go over to terry blacks, go for it, but it wont wow you. Its just ok. The meat was on the dry side and the sides were not that great. The mac and cheese was decent. The elote made me sad.

I've heard so much about Hurtados so when i was meeting a friend visiting from out of town (in Dallas for work), this seemed like a good opportunity to introduce them to one of Texas' finest features. Located at the farmer's market adjacent to the food court... excuse me hall, food hall it's a prime location. First thing i noticed when i walked inside was they hid the butcher behind a glass wall. What, what what? I'm guessing this was due to the smaller location to make way for seating but it was disappointing nonetheless since I had a first timer with me. The food! Brisket was solid. Like lives up to its rep. Sides were mixed. Elote being the strongest, mac and cheese disappointed. While the brisket delivered, my friend had pulled pork twice which was mixed review. First batch amazing, second too dry. We split chicken which was good but not great. Yes we ate a lot. And now witness an awkward ending.

So good! Everything was delicious. We ordered the burnt end, jalapeño sausage, brisket, with Mexican corn and hatch chile Mac n cheese. They have drinks available at the bar next to where you order. So good!

Was looking for some good BBQ , maybe I didn't order the right thing. Had a brisket sandwich which was fine but wasn't a fan of the sides.

I came here after seeing the Tex mex bbq options and wow it did not disappoint! For brisket, you can choose fattier or leaner (I chose leaner) and it was the perfect amount of richness while still being tender. Might I say it's better than a famous joint close by? The poblano pepper jack sausage was yummy but the skin was a little bit tough. The sides were amazing, I got the hatch chile mac and cheese (with cavatappi to soak up all that cheese!) and the Mexican street corn. Staff was super nice and friendly!

The Texas Trinity: 1/3 lb each of spare ribs, brisket, and, sausage with side of Brisket Beans - PHENOMENAL BBQ SPOT! (08/14/25)
    Jennifer Y.

Mouthwatering Tex-Mex BBQ! So flavorful were Hurtado's "Texas Trinity"of brisket, spareribs, and, jalapeño sausage. Just as dynamite were their sides of elote, coleslaw, brisket beans, and even their bread. Amazing also was their service. Loving the western contemporary feel to this location. THE newest BBQ spot for me, my family, and friends - pull up a chair y'all! CHEERS!

The brisket and pork ribs were decent, but honestly pretty dry and lacking in flavor when compared to some other BBQ places in DFW. For the price, it's pretty similar to other BBQ in the area. The Texas Twinkie is a jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese and brisket and wrapped in bacon. It was my favorite item as the cream cheese and bacon balanced out the spiciness of the jalapeño. The mac n cheese was also delicious with the perfect amount of spice. The service was great too as they made a mistake on my order and quickly corrected it. I like that this place is open daily and for dinner too.
