Daaang this was so good!!! Super tasty, all the classics were done so well. The Texas Twinkie was out of this world and yes super salty and greasy and perfect. They do tortillas instead of bread which isnt my preference but I'm sure lots of people like that. Plenty of street parking, interior is huge

The folks were really nice but the bbq was just ok. If youre looking for bbq at the market and dont want to go over to terry blacks, go for it, but it wont wow you. Its just ok. The meat was on the dry side and the sides were not that great. The mac and cheese was decent. The elote made me sad.

4.5/5 Super chill, casual spot with a country-style setup. There's a bar on one side if you want drinks to go with your barbecue, and the food side operates separately with its own menu and cashier. Had to try Texas barbecue while in Dallas, and this place offers both traditional BBQ and Tex-Mex options, which made choosing tough. I went with the two-meat platter and tried the brisket and burnt ends. My food came out fast, around five minutes. The burnt ends were the standout. Juicy, tender, and very flavorful. Definitely not dry or burnt despite the name. The brisket was also tender, though slightly less seasoned throughout. They offer a variety of barbecue sauces, but honestly the meat didn't need them. For sides, I had the street corn and loaded potatoes. The street corn was a bit too creamy for my taste but still good. The loaded potatoes were more like mashed potatoes with skins and cheese mixed in. Tasty, but I personally preferred the corn. The platter is very filling and could be shared. Staff was friendly and welcoming. I came in around 8:00 p.m. and even close to their 9:00 p.m. closing time, there was still a steady flow of customers. Overall, a solid BBQ stop.

Before we left Texas we wanted to at least stop somewhere to get BBQ. This was nearby and the menu looked pretty good. Thankfully the girl working the front brought us menus because we were looking at the board and it didn't quite have everything. You order at the counter and it's a cafeteria style joint. I will say this, pretty much everything was spicy. More than I'm used to for sure, but it didn't make it inedible to me, just hot. Not quite the portions I'm used to for the price. They also have sauces on the table for you. I will say this though, one my favorite things done right is turkey. My stepdad owned a BBQ restaurant for many years growing up so I got used to the most amazing turkey. This really reminded me of his. Very juicy and delicious. Really glad I made that choice. I also like that they had other flavors of fruit soda because sometimes strawberry just sounds so good. Friendly staff and plenty of seating. They have a parking lot and even a bar. It was pretty good.

So good! Everything was delicious. We ordered the burnt end, jalapeño sausage, brisket, with Mexican corn and hatch chile Mac n cheese. They have drinks available at the bar next to where you order. So good!

I came here after seeing the Tex mex bbq options and wow it did not disappoint! For brisket, you can choose fattier or leaner (I chose leaner) and it was the perfect amount of richness while still being tender. Might I say it's better than a famous joint close by? The poblano pepper jack sausage was yummy but the skin was a little bit tough. The sides were amazing, I got the hatch chile mac and cheese (with cavatappi to soak up all that cheese!) and the Mexican street corn. Staff was super nice and friendly!

WOW some of the best bbq I've ever had! I will dream about that spiced and sweet cornbread with meat in it. One of the best things I've EvER eaten! I demolished that thing!! Yum!! The beef brisket was lean and flavorful, loved the bacon braised melt in your mouth cabbage, and the slaw was refreshing. Loved this food! And this was delivery and arrived beautifully. Also the tres leches banana pudding was yummy.

I've heard so much about Hurtados so when i was meeting a friend visiting from out of town (in Dallas for work), this seemed like a good opportunity to introduce them to one of Texas' finest features. Located at the farmer's market adjacent to the food court... excuse me hall, food hall it's a prime location. First thing i noticed when i walked inside was they hid the butcher behind a glass wall. What, what what? I'm guessing this was due to the smaller location to make way for seating but it was disappointing nonetheless since I had a first timer with me. The food! Brisket was solid. Like lives up to its rep. Sides were mixed. Elote being the strongest, mac and cheese disappointed. While the brisket delivered, my friend had pulled pork twice which was mixed review. First batch amazing, second too dry. We split chicken which was good but not great. Yes we ate a lot. And now witness an awkward ending.

The Texas Trinity: 1/3 lb each of spare ribs, brisket, and, sausage with side of Brisket Beans - PHENOMENAL BBQ SPOT! (08/14/25)

Mouthwatering Tex-Mex BBQ! So flavorful were Hurtado's "Texas Trinity"of brisket, spareribs, and, jalapeño sausage. Just as dynamite were their sides of elote, coleslaw, brisket beans, and even their bread. Amazing also was their service. Loving the western contemporary feel to this location. THE newest BBQ spot for me, my family, and friends - pull up a chair y'all! CHEERS!

This is what you'll see on the TV

The food is 5 star. Generally the service is 4-5 star... BUT... I've had it with the "bar manager" who insists on having UFC on the TVs. The last thing I want to see when I'm eating is bloodied faces, people getting repeatedly punched in the head after they're already unconscious and literally having seizures on a blood covered mat. It's literally sickening and absolutely kills my appetite. Over the last year, I've spoken to 2 different managers who've assured me it wouldn't happen again, and I've spoken to this "bar manager" 3 different times before, but he keeps on doing it. Good grief, the literally once-every-4-years Olympics are on live today, yet the first thing I see walking through the door is a closeup of a grotesquely bloodied face. It's crazy. Little kids in the restaurant staring at the TV in disbelief, my stomach literally turning to the point where we just left. Other bartenders at Hurtado's (who don't put UFC on the TV) have confided in me that this guy does it because he's really into it and HE wants to watch it. Again, it's crazy. Are TVs for guests or for employees?!? This isn't some late night sports bar; it's a family restaurant (I thought) I live right across the street and I've really tried to work through your managers, but they either don't care or aren't able to address the problem. I'm done at this point; anytime I come through your door, if that guy is working, I'm turning right back around. It's a damned shame. I really want to love this neighborhood restaurant but this business makes it impossible.

Brisket Burger and street corn.

Literally speechless...but i'll try. Best burger of my entire life (ground brisket, 6666 quality indeed.) Fast service. Banana pudding - to die for. Extremely clean and well done interior. My friends all went back to order MORE. Street corn, so delicious. I wish I lived in Dallas and could go back all the time.

For the longest time, this place, famous for their tex mex barbecue mash up, has been on our radar. So we finally gave in to curiosity and paid them a visit to celebrate a birthday. My first thought was to go to the original Arlington location, but thanks to Yelpers providing lot of photos and reviews, we decided that it might not be ideal for a large group since we would probably have to sit outside. That's how we ended up choosing the Dallas location, which has plenty of indoor, air conditioned seating. We had a lot of mouths to feed and wanted to try as many things as possible, so we ordered the El Jefe and the El Patron plus Texas twinkies. Together the meals came with sausage (jalapeno & cheddar and poblano jack), pulled pork, brisket, ribs, turkey, burnt ends, and birria tacos. For our sides we chose mexican corn, mexican rice, mac & cheese, tater tot casserole, potato salad and charro beans. Just about everything was exceptional, although for me the brisket really stood out. I can't remember when or even if I have ever had a better brisket. The smoky flavor and tenderness of the meat made it absolutely perfect. My favorite side was the tater tot casserole. It was about as scrumptious as a potato dish can possibly get. The tacos deserve an honorable mention because they were outstanding as well. Of course that's not surprising since they're filled with that delicious brisket. As great as the meal was, I wouldn't consider it to be 5 stars for several reasons. First of all, the sausages, which I almost always like the most, turned out to be my least favorite. The casings were so thick that it was difficult to cut through and to chew. The only barbecue sauce available was a bit too sweet, and I'm usually a fan of sweet sauces. Finally, the sides were kind of small, not only in relation to the amount of meat that's included, but also for the price. As other Yelpers have pointed out, the parking lot surrounding the place will cost you, and that rate per hour is higher on the weekend than on weekdays. I wanted to mention this because I had read in another review that parking was free on Sundays but that is definitely NOT the case.

Prime brisket with their Mac and cheese and green beans.
Lumaris C.

...was very excited to try this place because of their Tex-Mex twist on BBQ; and was not disappointed at all. Had their brisket which was very tender and juicy with the perfect seasoning. Now, the sides. These are not your regular sides. The mac and cheese had a jalapeño kick and their green beans had garlic and chorizo. I don't think I have to tell you anything else. The sides were flavorful enough to complement the brisket without shadowing it. Loved the space, right at the Farmers Market. They have a bar right there so you can enjoy a summer beer with your BBQ. For me it was perfect, to beat down the heat in Dallas on a typical summer Saturday. I ordered their tres leches banana pudding to go and I do not regret it. It was like homemade. I was a little nervous about the mix but I did not find it as sweet as I thought it would be. Perfect combination!

Ordered Turkey, Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage and Mac and Cheese on the 2 meat combo plate. First off, that was $27 which I thought was rather high but with the hype I thought it might be worth it. The turkey was tender and juicy and rather flavorful, except for the end piece of turkey breast (I assume) with the skin side which was extremely tough. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was okay, but it didn't really retain either the jalapeño, cheddar, or the smoky taste which I thought was disappointing. The Mac and Cheese had bacon bits on it which were nice and crispy but the Mac and Cheese wasn't very rich or complex flavor wise, which I found slightly underwhelming. The sauce was super runny and while it had flavor, I never think having to put sauce on stuff to give it flavor is the answer. All that being said, for $27 I wasn't going to leave anything on the plate. The service I thought was rather hands off and I'm surprised nobody came and checked on us although that may be just how things are. The ambiance was cool with old license plates and pictures along with some cool western themed things up on the walls to make it seem warm and homey. All in all, I was left with the feeling that there should've been more and I was kinda disappointed after all the hype I've seen and all the gravitas that the name Pecan Lodge carries with it. I'd say probably a 6.5-7/10 so that lands me at 3 stars because it really didn't feel 4 star worthy.

The result was one of the best BBQ sandwiches I've eaten. The bite was soft, smokey, crunchy, and tart (from the pickles). It was a special, and I'm not sure if Kafi will keep this on the menu, but I hope they do. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. It's pricey, but it's worth it.
