We are super glad that we were able to make it out here, the people were so kind and nice to us and even hooked us up with a little gift as they were parting for the evening. We got the brisket that was the juiciest brisket we've ever tasted, and it was end of the evening for them. I can only imagine how juicy it is in the beginning of the evening. The chicken was slightly dry, but understandable for the fact that it was the last order of the day. They totally compensated for it by giving us some sausage so I'm not mad. Sausage was juicy and delicious and had a little kick to it. The Mac and cheese was good but nothing to boast about, it was our least favorite item on the plate. The cheese corn was so phenomenal that we ate every last bite and even licked it clean, we believe it should be illegal! The roll was a normal, I think store bought. Their BBQ sauce has a kick to it but it is out of this world delicious. All in all, excellent experience and we will be back. Thanks Erick. :)

Amazing bbq place!!!…read more Came here during business trip and the locals recommended this place as well as other bbq places. After trying out various bbq places like Pecan Lodge and Terry Black, I would put Baby Back Shak on #3. I went to different restaurants everyday for two weeks and this place is among the top. I thought the prices here is a bargain, they give you huge amount of food. They gave too much bread as well. I like their briskets but wasn't a big fan of their sausage. The place is small, has small parking space. Price is a bargain, and food tastes really good.

My favs here are brisket, pork ribs, andouille sausage, and turkey. The sides are also exquisite. I can't get enough of the coleslaw, corn and beans. The beans look to be some sort of chili, that is sweet. I could probably eat that by the gallon to be honest. Just load it up, drink/chew it. For the drinks I just go with the lemonade which is always great. Lastly the a BBQ sauce here is where it's at. It has the perfect ratio of awesome sauce excellence. As for ambience, this is a cool place to eat and chill. Love seeing the bbq articles on the walls, and artwork. This is a working people bbq restaurant, nothing fancy, just fantastic bbq, which is perfect for me. Highly recommended that everyone check Baby Back Shak out!

The ribs truly fell of the bone, were perfectly seasoned, and had marbling but no icky fat. I also met my match for baked mac&cheese. Mr. Phatman is in a league of his own. Seriously, I reluctantly concede and retire my "best mac&cheese" crown. Phatman now wears it. I wish this lovely, hardworking couple the very, very best (i think they're new) in bringing their lovingly made BBQ to Dallas. You can taste the love. Please come back!

Once I (finally) got to check out Four Corners, Pacheco Taco N Burger was sitting right to the side of the bar. I saw the Fried Pickles on the menu that was displayed on a wall, I looked over the rest of the menu after my order. The crowd started flowing once the Dallas Stars game was on the verge of starting (there were a good amount of TVs). The wait on my food didn't take long & my craving was fixed. The pickles had a slight crunch & the ranch was really good. The lady who took my order was nice & sweet. A couple of heads up notes. The store no longer serves draft beer which is kinda sad. I'm no fan of Budweiser, but I'd always get a Bud draft... just because. Old school. They offer six or eight bottled and maybe canned beers. Contrary to the information provided here on Yelp they DO NOT serve wine. I wish I could remember her name, but the gal that has manned the register for as long as I've been going is still there and it was so good to see her. A pleasant tie to back in the day at Sonny's. And the school desks are still there, though I can no longer get into them. LOL. The store has undergone some physical improvements but it still boasts something of an old school BBQ joint ambiance. Worth a visit for that experience alone. I'm editing this as the response from the store manager to my little review above is odd. I never said the meal did not meet my expectations nor did I mention the bun or that I even had a sandwich. I actually thought the bun was excellent. In fact, though, the meal did not meet my expectations I made no mention of that. The pork ribs are rather unusual. When ordering I asked if I could order a pound cut from the short end. The associate at the register looked at me like a calf looking at a new gate. I tried to explain and he said their ribs are all cut up individually. He obviously had no idea how a rack of ribs is structured. I'm inclined to think the store is not smoking actual racks of ribs. The ribs appear to be pre-cooked somehow and then, based on the grill marks, clearly finished on a grill. They do not taste smoked to me. But, of course, I do not know. I requested brisket cut from the point, it came out cut from the flat. The experience was unlike anything I've ever had before in a BBQ joint. (The picture of Sonny next to your name is kinda weird).
