    Hand crafted Cherry Limeade
    Jaime O.

You walk in and order at the front. All drinks are picked up at the bar and food comes pretty fast to the window. Seating is open and they have tables outside. Hand crated cherry limeade was good, more cheery than lime, but good! Pork sandwich and Mac-n-cheese was so good with bacon on Top! The only downside, they only have spicy bbq sauce. Sandwich did t need it, but would have been nice. Food was delicious and staff were friendly! Lots of tvs to watch games around d the whole place.

So when you look up best bbq. This comes up. We love Terry Blacks. We are not Texas natives. But the reviews did not disappoint!!! Beef ribs were sold out. We got pork ribs brisket, jalapeño sausage. Meat was fall off the bone. I mean so tender it falls apart on touch. Use your fingers to grab because it's slippery. You don't need sauce!! Collards ----- wow Okra good but I'm biased-- my mom makes fierce okra Bartender Emily amazing!! Blackberry mango margarita was on point

Very fatty meat.....every piece was like this...gross

Very pricy side of fat. 40% of brisket is fat. Not saying brisket is supposed lean but this is ridiculous!! All pieces had at least this amount and f fat

Things change. People change. Tables turn. Bridges burn. Ya live & ya learned: I learned this is my fav Q spot in DFW area. I love Q, i grew up cooking on charcoal Websters, & old wood smokers filled with oak food off the coast & in the riparian hills of the Pacific. Chicken, tri tip, etc.. But THIS. IMO. PECAN LODGE IS THEE DEFINITION OF TEXAS Q. All the meat was not too rich, hardy, moist, fall apart, smoke rings & surprisingly i was astounded by the pork rib quality the most. Surprisingly not as salty as i thought especially since ima salty person. Lol Enjoy!

Fantastic BBQ place and great service. Come here before the lines get long. Arrived at 10:30 on a Friday so not bad for the lines. Family oriented and great time to spend with friends. There's TVs to watch the games.

I've been to Pecan Lodge multiple times, and it's definitely one of the most famous BBQ spots in Dallas. Deep Ellum is also a fun area to explore, so it makes for a nice stop if you're visiting. I really enjoy their brisket and ribs, and the sides are pretty decent as well. It's not the cheapest BBQ, and I do wish the portions were a little more generous, but the flavor is solid. If you're visiting, I'd recommend showing up early. Like many famous BBQ places, the popular items can sell out pretty quickly. Parking tip: try using the parking lot under I-45 nearby.

Brisket was okay and sausage was delicious

Yes it's good BBQ but there are higher standards in Texas and this doesn't blow you away in the same way some of the greats in this State do. I came on a Tuesday night and it was pretty empty. I was alone so I got just the brisket, the jalapeno cheddar sausage, the jalapeno hominy, collard greens, and the banana pudding. The brisket was fine. Some bites were tender, juicy, nice salty balance, and other bites were dry and lacked flavor. Overall inconsistent. The sausage was pretty good as the cheese wasn't overly rich and had a nice spice to it. The collard greens were a little on the sweet side which I didn't love. The jalapeno hominy were delicious as the slight cheddar flavor with a little heat was a pleasant contrast for something that can be pretty bland by itself. The banana pudding was delicious. Not overly sweet, creamy and rich but not so heavy after a heavy main course. I like the vibe but it's fun when a BBQ place carves the slices in front of you. The service is fine. It overall looks like a fun place to go and given how they have live music, etc. it's clear that's what they're going for. But I prefer a place that's focused on its craft over vibe.

Mac and cheese, pork sausage, peach cobbler, burnet ends in the middle.

This place definitely has a good reputation, but my experience ended up being pretty middle of the road. The interior is extremely casual (almost "busted" in a sense). It feels like it's trying to lean into a rustic barbecue aesthetic, but it ends up coming across more cheap and old than intentionally charming. It's not quite the atmosphere I expected given how popular the place is. The food was a mixed bag. The burnt ends were okay, but honestly nothing special. They were fine, just not the standout I was expecting. The pork sausage was actually pretty good flavor-wise, but the casing was really tough. I had to bite down pretty hard to get through it, which was not the most pleasant experience. The mac and cheese had a tiny bit of spice to it, which I liked, but the texture was more mealy than creamy. For dessert I had the peach cobbler. It was decent, but leaned a little too granola heavy for my taste and did not quite bake together the way I expected. I was hoping for something more cohesive and gooey. Overall, it wasn't a terrible meal, but it also wasn't good... This place didn't live up to the hype at all.

Sausage, Mac and cheese, turkey, brisket

Good classic BBQ. Would go again but was surprised that the reviews are as high as they are. Did not think it stuck out much compared to other BBQ places I've been Good if you just want classic BBQ. Staff was very nice and atmosphere was good.

Pork ribs , collards and Mac n cheese

Really enjoyed the food . Meats were cooked so well. Brisket was my fav. Mac n cheese and potato salad was really good . Collards were sweet I did not care for them.

    THREE MEAT PLATE
    Marie G.

Ordered take out and wow - it lives up to the hype. The turkey was thickly sliced. The sausage was a full piece and the pork rib was large. All were tasty and all did not taste the same- sometimes you get a three meat platter and all the meat has the same sauce on it that was not the case here each meat at its own individual flavor. The other thing I liked about the food here is that the smoke taste is not overwhelming. I have had barbecue from many places across Texas and sometimes I can't eat it because the smoke smell is so strong that I am totally turned off and don't want to eat the food. Here. It was so so mild. it was perfect.

For everyone who hates waiting in lines: I went around 2pm on a Friday and was pleasantly surprised to find that there were a lot of available seats and only four people in line ahead of me! Tables were clean and loved that a staff member was on the floor to answer any questions. I got the three meat combo, so: the jalapeno and cheddar sausage was so flavorful and the collard greens were incredible. Hands down my favorite thing on my plate. Burnt ends and brisket were tender and juicy, but I think I prefer a less smoky flavor.

smoked 6 PIECE WINGS, ONE MEAT PLATE Whole Brisket Southwestern Green Chile Hominy

I think it's overpriced for the quality of the food. The brisket was dry and the bbq sauce (if you can call it that) that was available was very watery and sweet. Not the type of southern bbq you'd be expecting. I went in with no previous knowledge of the restaurant in general, so maybe that's where the downfall is. The wings were pretty good and so were the collard greens. The greens had a savory/sweet flavor. I wouldn't go back though. I spent $80+ for two "one meat plates" and neither one of us enjoyed the food enough for the price.

I remember the gourmet Eatzi's phenomenon when the chain had a Houston location, which has been closed for almost 20 years. Although I've read Eatzi's may in fact return to Houston, I'll believe it when I see it. What I've always liked about Eatzi's is the high quality and variety of cuisine on offer. For some reason, this time I settled on hummus, but also saw lots of other cool choices, including sushi. Bread is baked in-house and lots of people seem to like the made to order sandwiches and prepared foods. I ordered two sandwiches through the DoorDash app for pickup. The app clearly stated that the sandwiches came with chips and potato salad, which is why I chose that option instead of ordering a different special. When I arrived at the restaurant, I still had to wait in line before reaching the cashier. When I finally got to the counter, she handed me my sandwiches and then told me that I had ordered chips and potato salad but had not paid for them. I calmly explained that the app showed those items as included with the sandwich. Instead of resolving the situation professionally, she told me she needed to call the owner. She then had me step aside while she helped three other customers, leaving me waiting awkwardly off to the side. When the owner finally called her back, she spoke to him loudly (almost argumentatively) about me being there and "claiming" the sandwiches came with chips and potato salad. It was embarrassing because other customers could clearly hear what was happening. Ultimately, I was told the owner said the sandwiches did not come with those sides. At that point, I just took my sandwiches and left. The entire situation felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. If there was a mix-up with the app, that isn't the customer's fault. Good customer service would have been to honor what was displayed in the app and clarify the issue internally afterward. Instead, I left feeling frustrated and embarrassed.
