Located right next to Dallas Love Field, Heim BBQ makes for a wonderful pit stop for a 3 hour layover. (Made it back with an hour to spare) I ordered the two meat combo which comes with 2 sides. The brisket wasn't special here - not dry but there is better to be found elsewhere. However the bacon burnt ends were phenomenal. Served hot, slightly sweet, and very juicy. Beans were nothing special, and the green chili Mac and cheese was decent. There's a large seating area both indoors and outdoors. Decent parking and clean restrooms
Location Mockingbird-just across from Love field Parking Large lot Atmosphere Basic, casual Service At the counter, fast, friendly, not rushed Menu Everything is delish! Outstanding BBQ, excellent sides, their own sauce. Many choices. Catering option. We were there tor Dallas Burger week 2026. We each has the burger special with a side. The burger was a thick patty with fresh sliced tomato, lettuce, grilled onions-NOTE-there is a pickle, sliced onion, and jalapeño bar to garnish your food. There's also catsup, mustard, mayo. The cole slaw is chopped and full of celery seed- perfect- not soupy. There's fried okra is dry ad seasoned-not greasy ir heavily breaded. Summary When friend come into town at Love afield-we meet up here-great food, convenient location, outstanding service! Love this place! Rock-in' the Dallas burger week 2026.
Took my boss here today since he has never been. He really enjoyed his BBQ Snob .. I opted for the Big Cat .. It was delicious .. They have a new Scorpion Sauce but its bite is more like an ant .. At least they tried !! LOL !!
This place is for tourists. I would not come back. Better than Sony Bryan's but that's not saying much. I go into every bbq place with an open mind with hopes to really enjoy the experience. It happens quite a bit, just not here this time. The mac was plain without much going on. Not really cheesy or saucy, just dressed noods that needed seasoning. The potato salad was kind of good. It was dry overall, but had a decent flavor. I'm going to turn them into potato cakes. The brisket was moist and well seasoned. It tasted more steamed than smoked. Like they use one of those rotating carousel smokers for catering bbq. Not offset which is the gold standard in Texas. The bacon burnt ends just seemed like pork candy. Fat and sugar, mostly fat that I ended up discarding. The sausage seemed cold since the cheese didn't melt at all. Lastly the onion rings. They were almost good. It was so oily and breaded that it felt gross eating them. Had they been more petite and have a better onion ratio we would have been in business. We shared one leaving the rest to the trash man. Same with the Mac. I won't be back. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and go to slow bone down the street. This is typical tourist trap bbq that you should only ever eat if you are here for business travel and don't have much time to invest in something worth it.
What an absolutely disgusting BBQ experience. How is this place still in business? $5.00 for onion rings which are essentially onions fried in some sort of doughy, soggy, disgusting concoction. Oh, you get 3 of them for $5.00. The pinto beans are so confusing...they almost want to be refried beans. The coleslaw is decent. It's hard to mess up coleslaw. The brisket has zero smoke flavor and is dry. The pulled pork is decent...no smoke flavor. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was good...pretty hard to mess this up. Finally, the bbq sauce is entirely too sweet and has a lot of baking spice...tastes like cinnamon. Very disappointed after spending $50. I have no idea how this place is still open. I have honestly had better bbq at gas stations.
I'm here to talk about the burger. Heim BBQ sits on Mockingbird Lane across from the entrance to Love Field. It's a clean spotless, bright restaurant with large windows and plenty of indoor and patio seating. Their barbecue looked amazing and smelled even better, but today is about their burgers. Dallas has no shortage of great burgers, most of them flat-top grilled. That's fine, but a truly memorable burger needs something more, and Heim delivers. The meat is exceptional, likely ground in-house, and carries the rich, confident flavor you'd expect from a BBQ restaurant that truly understands meat. The bun is equally impressive. It holds together without crumbling into dry shrapnel the way so many do. The basic Heim burger is simple--meat, grilled chopped onions, bun--but the flavor is outstanding. I ordered the burger with onion rings and a beverage. The onion rings were clearly made in-house and top quality. I usually prefer thin, crispy onion strings, but their thick, donut-style rings were excellent. If you're searching for one of Dallas' best burgers--possibly the best--head to Heim BBQ. You won't be disappointed. Bonus... the service was fantastic. When you order they hand you one of those vibrating electric pucks, but when mine went off the waiter listened, heard where I was, and brought my order to me. Afterward they bus your table and keep the place spotless.
Very small portion size for the 1 meat plate which cost $15.99 Their BBQ sauce tastes like it was diluted with vinegar Spring Creek BBQ is better than this
I first tried Heim Barbecue during a weekend trip to Fort Worth and couldn't wait to return. This location near Dallas Love Field is just as good, if not better. The space is beautiful and spotless, and the service is always friendly and upbeat. I love coming here for their jalapeño burger and brisket. Always excellent and an easy five stars.
Randomly stopped before heading to Love Field. Staff were super friendly. Brisket was good, the bacon burnt ends were phenomenal! I see why those are famous. The manager suggested a spicy bbq sauce for the brisket and it was very favorable! Forgot to buy some to take back home. The Mac n cheese and beans were okay.
First time here... impressed with the service, brisket, beans and coleslaw was spectacular and beer selection top notch Highly recommend!
Perfect BBQ spot. Clean, friendly, delicious, priced correctly and great options! The moment you walk in, you can smell the smoke. Ordering is easy and efficient at the counter with great customer service. They give you a buzzer, your drinks and then you pick your own table. When the buzzer goes off, you go back to the counter to pickup your food. Food was delicious! My husband got the 3 meat platter (Jalepeno-cheddar sausage, brisket and pulled pork) with potato salad and okra. I got the 3 meat sampler (happy hour menu) with coleslaw. Everything was perfect! But those Bacon Burnt Ends are HEAVEN. You know a BBQ joint is legit when there's sauce and napkins/paper towels out on the tables and unlimited white bread!
Went to happy hour here with a large group of people, and we had a great time! The service was phenomenal. When we ordered a bunch of appetizers and shareable, we had asked the employee at the register how much it would cost for drinks. She ended up giving us a whole stack of cups for free, which was extremely nice! Especially since we had a budget we had to stick with In. We ended up tipping a good amount because the service was so great! The inside had a bunch of seating, and there was also some outdoor seating. We were put into one of the side rooms, where there are two large tables and lots of chairs and definitely accommodated our large group. The food itself was really good and flavorful. I really liked the meat sampler plate that we ordered, as it allowed everyone to try a little bit of everything. I also liked how they had condiments and sides like a pickles, onions, etc., at various stations throughout the restaurant. They also had loaves of bread at the stations so that we could easily make sandwiches ! The merchandise in the front was also really cute!!! Parking was really easy since there is a free lot right outside, this restaurant is also close to other stores!
Wow. This was an absolute perfect and unique experience. On a work project and one of the guys said he'd stopped here before so we all agreed to do so. As soon as we walked in the smell was great and the layout and cleanliness was all great too. We ordered a plate with multiple options and all four of us seriously loved every single bite we had. My most important thing is always the service to me and each one in there was wonderful. I promise they were each so happy and fun and created a great vibe in there. This is a definite place to go to for delicious food and great service.

Finally stopped here after years or driving by it. Sliced Brisket (moist) was perfect today. As was the "bacon" burnt ends. The Jalapeño Cheddar sausage was decent, nothing special. I only used the BBQ sauce just to try on a bite of each of the meats: tasty. Gorgeous space and friendly staff. read more
Stopped by for dinner. It was pretty busy but the line went by fast. You order your food at the counter, they give you a buzzer and you're alerted that your food is ready once it goes off. The restaurant is a decent size. You seat yourself. The staff was very nice and we did not wait too long for our food. read more

The atmosphere was nice -- similar to the newer location off White Settlement, which I assume has basically become the main Fort Worth location since the original closed. Unfortunately, the food was a completely different story. I ordered the turkey sandwich, and the turkey was dry as hell with almost no smoke flavor. The buns -- brioche, I guess -- weren't particularly good either. Then came the onion rings. Wow. These may honestly have been the worst onion rings I've ever had. The batter was so thick it was like eating a doughnut with an onion hidden inside. The batter on EACH SIDE was about as thick as the actual onion slice. You're a barbecue restaurant connected to a brewery -- put some beer in that batter and lighten it up! I've got about 10 cases of strawberry filling if you need it, because these things were getting close to needing to be filled like doughnuts. I ordered the onion rings with my sandwich rather than paying $4.99 for the appetizer, and I'm glad I did. I ate ONE of the three and left the other two sitting there. The sandwich came with the usual jalapeños, onions and pickles, which is fine, but how about offering some hot barbecue sauce or another sauce with a little kick? That might have at least helped the turkey. And please -- bring back the HEIM quality and teach the guys running the smokers how to smoke meat. A barbecue restaurant shouldn't be serving turkey with practically no smoke flavor. Service is also pretty minimal. You order, and the food is brought to your table in a metal pan. That's basically it. I wanted to like this place because the atmosphere is good, but for what I was served, I left extremely disappointed. The turkey needs moisture and smoke, the onion-ring batter needs a complete overhaul, and the overall food quality needs to catch up with the building. read more

Had to leave a review to balance out some of the comments from folks who clearly don't understand Texas barbecue -- likely travelers from the nearby airport. First of all, getting a 3-meat plate for $30 is a steal these days. With more spots switching to meat by the pound, it's becoming rare to find combo plates at all, let alone at a fair price. This location is a gem: short lines, friendly staff, and consistently juicy, flavorful barbecue. Unlike many Texas joints where you're stuck in a line wrapped around the building and risk missing out if you don't show up early, Heim keeps it moving and even offers weekday "Heim Time" specials from 2-6pm. The sides are excellent, there's tons of seating indoors and out, and the overall experience is smooth and yummy. Literally only gripe is they don't pay for ad-free streaming -- so yes, you'll hear a few commercials between country songs. Small price to pay for solid brisket! read more

A beautiful restaurant! Such nice people working here! Also! So efficient! You order at the counter from cheerful staff-they prepare your order and bring it to your table. The food is terrific as well! We loved everything we had! And we had a lot! The ribs were are terrific! The pulled pork is delicious, the brisket was tender and full of flavor! We also had Mac and cheese and potato salad-both were good- I would look forward to coming here anytime! read more
I was in Dallas for a job interview and stopped by this restaurant as it was right next to my hotel. From the minute I walked in I was greater with a warm welcome! The girl at the front was really nice and bubbly personality! The building had a barn house feel to it, with high ceilings. The food was great! The ribs were delicious, fall off the bone. They have bbq sauce in the table but trust me no extra sauce was needed! The brisket was so good, great flavor and melts in your mouth. The green chili Mac and cheese was also good, just could use a bit more flavor to it as it was a bit bland. The potato salad also was good, great flavor to it but a bit dry. I like my potato salad with extra dressing in them. The peach cobbler with ice cream was to die for! Next time I'm in Texas I will definitely be stoping in. read more
We had a great experience with our first time eating here. Elise? Was a big help with letting us sample something before we decided. The portions were large, we split a 2 meat deal with 2 sides and an app and were able to still have left overs for lunch the next day! Very large space, chill vibes. read more

Heim Barbecue on Mockingbird at 3130 W Mockingbird Ln, Dallas, TX 75235 I'm pretty hard on barbecue places considering I've been in Texas now for over 10 years and my hometown is Memphis, Tennessee. I have definitely ate at a lot of the top places and still there's more to eat at here in the DFW area. It was around lunch time when we came here on a Monday. Parking lot is a decent size but we were able to find parking on the right side. The line wasn't too long but there was at least half the amount of people that can sit in the building were there. My friend ordered the pulled pork sandwich and potato salad. I ordered the loaded potato skins with brisket. The barbecue sauce added an extra kick to it. My overall experience is for people getting off the plane at Love Field and going back home right after This would be their stop just to taste Texas barbecue . read more

Before you buy the beef rib, please be aware that it is easily 90% fat. There were not even 2 bites that were non-fat. We did talk to 3 different employees there and showed them this plate and they all confirmed that this amount of fat was normal. Just for reference this was $40 for 1. (We did get the $50 "colossal combo" so it came with two sides and 2 fountain drinks). We ended up having to buy other food so that we actually had a full meal. Food is otherwise okay. read more
Decided to stop in mid errand run. I love smoked turkey so I went with the turkey breast sandwich. Also ordered a side of large fries and Cole slaw to share. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich. The restaurant is very clean and has very well organized stations. I love the touch of white loaf bread by the condiment section. The fries are perfect. The coleslaw is diff more pickled and not very mayo based. Still good. The sandwich was perfect the bread is toasted and yummy. The meat is perfect. Now that bar b que sauce on the table is fantastic. I could eat a pint of it. Haha Can't wait to go back and try the bacon ends and the Mac and cheese looks fantastic. read more

This restaurant felt like a 5, but I have no frame of reference for Dallas barbecue and as such I am going with a 4. I must begin by noting that you should, if able, drive to this place and get some bacon burnt ends. I was worried that they would actually be "burnt", as I do not love a lot of truly burnt protein, but it was more like large chunks of pork belly with soft, gelatinous fat and decadent muscle cooked with a sweet, peppery glaze. They were unbelievably delicious. I am no authority on brisket by any means, but I thought mine was solid. I got some leaner pieces; I would have appreciated the option to request fatty cuts, but I am not so sure my stomach would have appreciated it as much. At any rate, the smoke flavor was great and the protein was tender. The service was prompt, yet not concerningly so. The server who took our order left off a couple of things, and the waiter gave us the rest of what we ordered without charge, which he did not have to do. The restaurant was clean and orderly. Finally, I got a brownie which had almond flavoring added, and I think it would have been better without. Not bad, just not my taste. I highly recommend Heim! read more

Had an amazing Texas BBQ experience at @heimbarbecue, home of the bacon burnt ends! My mom's flight was delayed so this location right outside of Love Field Airport was the perfect spot to feed my belly while I waited for her. Here's what I got! Bacon Burnt Ends- I was blown away by how tender and perfectly seasoned they were, bbq sauce definitely wasn't needed at all! Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage- Just the right amount of heat, plump, and savory! Collard Greens- Addicting, cooked perfectly with just a slight hint of sweetness. Twice Baked Potato Salad- Flavor packed and creamy just like I like it! I know Texas is known for its BBQ, but until I visited Heim hadn't been to a Texas BBQ spot that really impressed me much. Heim does it right! Way to represent!! I can't wait to dine again. read more
First off, the decor of the restaurant is urban modern and very clean. The roof, however, does tend to leak. Surprise! As for the staff, they were very good. Helpful and friendly, they went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. My wife ordered the bacon burnt ends, and they were amazing. I got the rib plate, and while they were equally tasty, they were a touch on the chewy side in places. As for the sides, we shared the cole slaw and the potato salad. Both were very good, but it would help if the cabbage were cut a bit smaller. Either way, it was all tasty. read more
