Spinach Parmesan Dip
Jessie C.

Solid spot but slightly underwhelming. The valet and service were super friendly but very slow. We had to waive down our waiter who was chatting with other servers. We had a bday rsvp and we all arrived within 10 mins. I ordered a porch burger ($17) with no mayo or tomato's with a sub to salad instead of fries. I quite literally got the opposite thing. A few other people had there orders made incorrectly as well. The inside seating was super nice and spacious! Not sure if I could rec this as multiple orders were wrong but the spinach dip appetizer ($14) was great! I'd come back just for the dip.

Giant pretzel is not giant lol there's food is good, drinks are good and the service is perfect! Inside is clean, feels very much so like a porch.

Pineapple daiquiri and coconut mojito

Came here for lunch on a girls day! It's in such a cute little area and the food is delicious. We started out with cocktails. I had the pineapple daiquiri and she had the coconut mojito. You could tell the drink were made with really fresh Ingredients and the flavors mixed well together. For my meal I decided on the salmon bowl and my mom had the poke bowl. Both were super fresh and full of flavor. We had to finish off with dessert because the options were too good. We went with the German chocolate cake and the piece was huge. It was tasty and not too rich and we wound up taking most of it to go because the piece was so big.

I have been to The Porch a few times and it is a very consistent restaurant. The giant cinnamon roll was delicious and can definitely be shared with multiple people. The salmon bowl is to die for. I've ordered it all the times I have gone and I have never been disappointed. They have a nice variety on their menu and would be a good fit for everyone in your group! The service was a little slow but we were a larger group so that's understandable. Overall, highly recommend and will definitely be returning to try some other menu items. Note: They have $2 martinis on Tuesday! There is complimentary valet parking right behind the restaurant.

Great brunch spot off Henderson. There's valet parking $5 around back. The interior was also really cute but it was a nice day out so we wanted to sit outside on their patio. Brunch is from 11AM-3PM Our menu list - Chicken Liver Mousse - honestly it was tasty, nice and silky with a touch of sweetness from the pepper jelly, sour dough was nicely crisp Fried Onion - the garlic aioli on this needs to be on everrrrything, great sauce Johnny Cakes - OUR FAVE - this gives me cornbread vibes, really rich but good! Classic Breakfast Sandwich - the sausage was shaved and not a patty as I would imagine so the ratio felt a bit heavy on the bread compared to inside. Hot Fried Chicken & Biscuits - I would probably pass on this one, nothing special. Overall, a great spot to catch up with friends and walk around to other bars.

Came by for a late lunch on a Saturday. We were seated right away and told the daily specials. Our waitress was lovely and super friendly and attentive. Food came out quick and was tasty. The restaurant had a nice casual, yet semi-upscale vibe. Highly recommended and would come here again.

The smash burger and the porch burger were so good and fresh! And service was good I gave 4 stars because my friend didn't taste any alcohol in her mojito

Such a great little gem. It's on the pricer side, but it's worth it. Such great environment, super cute and fancy for celebrating a birthday or event. They take reservations online or you can walk in (they get really busy on the weekends so you may have to sit at the bar if you don't have reservations). I've been a few times with friends since they re-opened but I always forget to review so here we finally are!! The food is fantastic- I got the espresso martini, spinach dip for starter (so tasty and warm), and the Cobb salad for dinner- the chicken tasted and looked like chick fil a nuggets.. so yum! Overall really enjoyed and can't wait to go back. They have a big board that shows the specials and those are always fun to try! And they have free valvet in the back- it's just asked that you tip :)

Brisket Tacos

Great service from our waiter. We tried out his recommended shareable plates and drinks, which we all enjoyed. Their burrata is a must. We ended the night with the Gooey Butter Cake. It doesn't say much on the dessert menu description but we were surprised on how yummy it was. The restaurant has a dim lighting to it in the evening, which just makes the place so cozy.

Steak Frites and German Chocolate Cake

This was my third visit. First and second visit were 5 stars. This past Sunday we went for Brunch. We ordered the best cinnamon roll I've ever eaten in my life. It was freshly made. Phenomenal. I ordered the chicken and biscuits, egg and potatoes. Very good. My son ordered the brisket tacos. He said they were amazing. My husband ordered steak and eggs. The steak was a big letdown from when we first ordered the steak frites on our first visit. It appears they've gone with an inferior quality I guess to cut their costs. Bad move. You can't play with people's taste buds when they know they've had better from your establishment. The steak was inedible because it was full of fat and gristle. Everything else was great included our server Corey L. and the manager I believe her name is Crystal. They both always give phenomenal attentive service. Corey was always there when we needed him and he has a very friendly personality. Very welcoming and inviting. Overall I'd give the food a 4 star because of the steak. The service was 5 stars. The Porch is a great restaurant with exceptional food and service with reasonable pricing. I highly recommend giving them a try.

Ask the Community - The Porch

Can you eat dinner at the bar?

Yes! Eating dinner at porch's bar area is actually the best seats in the restaurant!

Do they serve bottomless mimosas?

We do not do bottomless mimosas but we do have Brunch $5 drink specials on Bloody Marys, Mimosas, Mules and Micheladas.

Do they serve non-alcoholic beer/cocktails?

Yes! My children get Shirley Temples. I remember having a virgin margarita when I was pregnant. I don't remember about beer.

Is there a place to park?

Yes, they have valet parking behind the restaurant. I believe it's free, but don't hold me to that.

Are all of your meats free range?

What are their happy hour deals and what time is it at?

I'm unsure of the Happy hour times. You can call to find out :)

Ordered Turkey, Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage and Mac and Cheese on the 2 meat combo plate. First off, that was $27 which I thought was rather high but with the hype I thought it might be worth it. The turkey was tender and juicy and rather flavorful, except for the end piece of turkey breast (I assume) with the skin side which was extremely tough. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was okay, but it didn't really retain either the jalapeño, cheddar, or the smoky taste which I thought was disappointing. The Mac and Cheese had bacon bits on it which were nice and crispy but the Mac and Cheese wasn't very rich or complex flavor wise, which I found slightly underwhelming. The sauce was super runny and while it had flavor, I never think having to put sauce on stuff to give it flavor is the answer. All that being said, for $27 I wasn't going to leave anything on the plate. The service I thought was rather hands off and I'm surprised nobody came and checked on us although that may be just how things are. The ambiance was cool with old license plates and pictures along with some cool western themed things up on the walls to make it seem warm and homey. All in all, I was left with the feeling that there should've been more and I was kinda disappointed after all the hype I've seen and all the gravitas that the name Pecan Lodge carries with it. I'd say probably a 6.5-7/10 so that lands me at 3 stars because it really didn't feel 4 star worthy.

This place is truly something special, from the gracious hospitality to the incredible menu. The menu delivers elevated Southern comfort food that somehow manages to feel both nostalgic and fresh at the same time. I've worked my way through almost the entire menu over multiple visits, and I can honestly say that everything is incredible. Every time I take someone new there, I tell them that there hasn't been one dish that I've ever thought "meh" about. Every dish is so flavorful and outstanding. That said, I absolutely have my go-to order: the cornbread (a must), the southern greens, and the fried chicken. The cornbread is almost like a melt in your mouth dessert, that I happily start every visit with. The greens are packed with rich, savory flavor, and I'm not kidding when I say that every time I have them, I literally dream about them for weeks after. And the duck fat fried chicken? Crispy, juicy, and hands-down some of the best I've ever had. Beyond the food, the whole experience just feels thoughtful, from the quality of ingredients to the execution of every dish. You can tell there's real intention behind everything coming out of the kitchen. If you're anywhere near Farmers Branch, this spot is worth going out of your way for. And if it's your first visit--trust me, get the cornbread, southern greens, and fried chicken. You'll be dreaming about it later.

Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

Knowledgeable about the menu & great recommendations. Kev was a joy to have as our server. The food is amazing & love the ambiance of the restaurant. My only complaint...we came in early Saturday prior to Stars game. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked if we had a reservation. We did not, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked to wait. Waited maybe 5-10mins. No biggie, A lot of open tables were available for immediate sit down. Again that wasn't a big deal. I had asked for a booth & wanted to sit in front room. The hostess said no a problem. She handed us off to a younger hostess and she took us to a table. I told her I had requested a booth. In the front room only 3 tables were occupied. I pointed out the booth and she said that's for party of 6. However, we could have the 1/2 table/booth. Made absolutely no sense because that was for a party of 6 as well. I made this comment & she just stared at me without saying a word. I didn't want to seem difficult and took the table as she just walked away. Kev was confused as we were. No good communication skills. It was an awkward encounter. The restaurant wasn't busy at all & never was whole time there. Kev wasn't sure why she didn't move us a requested & was puzzled himself. However i apologized to him & explained I wasn't trying to be difficult, but prefer booth sitting and most times we will wait for one. We left at 1:45p and restaurant was no busier than when we arrived. Reservation/Booth or not! I guess saying all of this, your front staff need to have more people skills when dealing with your customers. They are the face and first point of contact. Again Kev was amazing & food was outstanding!
