We had a table of 7 come for 1 PM lunch today. We had reservations and everything. We got seated and it took about 10 minutes for our actual server to finally come for drinks. We ordered 2 bottles of champagne and 1 Bloody Mary and it took over 16 minutes to arrive and we had to remind him 2 times. He never brought us water. He messed up our checks and added gratuity, said he wasn't, did and then came back and said he didn't when he did. It took about 15 minutes to get our checks back after we paid. Then the chicken fried steak was solid with the green beans and mashed potatoes being the stars of that dish. However my fish sandwich came out with raw in the center. After sending it back I waited a solid 15-20 minutes for another sandwich and it was cooked bone dry. Was it worth the wait? Absolutely not as the flavor was not there. Then we ended the meal with the fried butter cake. It is exactly what it sounds like and was quite mushy. Overall it did not mesh well together in my opinion. I feel that the porch definitely does deserve a repeat visit from me as I do not believe this rating is fully representative of what this restaurant offers. Solid spot but slightly underwhelming. The valet and service were super friendly but very slow. We had to waive down our waiter who was chatting with other servers. Came here for lunch on a girls day! It's in such a cute little area and the food is delicious. We started out with cocktails. I had the pineapple daiquiri and she had the coconut mojito. You could tell the drink were made with really fresh Ingredients and the flavors mixed well together. For my meal I decided on the salmon bowl and my mom had the poke bowl. Both were super fresh and full of flavor. We had to finish off with dessert because the options were too good. We went with the German chocolate cake and the piece was huge. We met some friends for dinner here tonight, and had a nice time. The food and drinks were good, if not great, and the service was excellent. Ambiance was delightful, cozy inside on a cool wet night. 1. Half chicken was overcooked, dryer than it should have been, as if it's been sitting around for a while (which I can logically understand.) I had higher hopes for the execution of this dish, which fell below the bar of box box rotisserie chickens. Given the dryness, some gravy or sauce on the potatoes would have been welcome. 2. Brussel sprouts were excellent, highly recommended. 3. German chocolate cake was also good, but fell a chunk short of greatness. With about 8 layers, there should be been more frosting between layers, which would help the dry leaning cake itself retain some additional moisture. I've ordered it all the times I have gone and I have never been disappointed. They have a nice variety on their menu and would be a good fit for everyone in your group! They take reservations online or you can walk in (they get really busy on the weekends so you may have to sit at the bar if you don't have reservations). I've been a few times with friends since they re-opened but I always forget to review so here we finally are!! The food is fantastic- I got the espresso martini, spinach dip for starter (so tasty and warm), and the Cobb salad for dinner- the chicken tasted and looked like chick fil a nuggets.. so yum! This was my third visit. First and second visit were 5 stars. This past Sunday we went for Brunch. We ordered the best cinnamon roll I've ever eaten in my life. It was freshly made. Phenomenal. I ordered the chicken and biscuits, egg and potatoes. Very good. My son ordered the brisket tacos. He said they were amazing. My husband ordered steak and eggs. The steak was a big letdown from when we first ordered the steak frites on our first visit. It appears they've gone with an inferior quality I guess to cut their costs. Bad move. You can't play with people's taste buds when they know they've had better from your establishment. The steak was inedible because it was full of fat and gristle. Everything else was great included our server Corey L. and the manager I believe her name is Crystal. They both always give phenomenal attentive service. Corey was always there when we needed him and he has a very friendly personality. Very welcoming and inviting. Overall I'd give the food a 4 star because of the steak. The service was 5 stars. Once our group arrived at the restaurant, we were seated immediately and taken care of by Aldi, who did an excellent job as our waitress. For the appetizers, both the spinach Parmesan dip and pretzel were solid. The entrees of chicken fried steak and briscut tacos were also both delicious. The salmon burger was just okay in my opinion, and was the one thing I wouldn't get again. Their dessert was all solid too. My fiancés mom liked the key lime the best, while my fiancé and my fiancés dad liked the gooey butter cake the most. Last, just overall good feels of the restaurant itself. As a new Dallas restaurant, the need for a reservation sometimes weeks out is something I keep forgetting about. I didn't have the highest expectations because of how easy it was to get in but I was wrong! First of all, the service is great. I was looking for a drink that was similar to one I had at a different restaurant, and instead of finding a close one on the menu, the server showed the bartender and he made it for me! Crazy! The food was also good! I got the fried chicken salad and was very impressed with the portion size and find myself thinking about it often. They have great ranch too. I will say, it's a little on the pricey side. The ambiance is okay, but could be nicer, and I'm not sure the food prices really match. The restaurant was fairly empty on the inside while the porch seating area was a little busier. We were seated immediately and our waitress was really nice and bubbly. I ordered an arnold palmer and for food, we got a side of the kale caesar salad, The Porch burger with fries, the short rib stroganoff, and the cornbread. The good: the cornbread was to die for. It was piping hot and the edges were still slightly hard/crispy when it arrived on our table. The jalapeño honey butter spread was so fluffy and paired with the cornbread phenomenally. I'd eat this everyday if I could! I also enjoyed the kale caesar salad but wish it wasn't as tangy as it was. The short rib stroganoff was definitely really unique and tasted really good with the extra vegetables that are traditionally not a part of this dish. The mediocre/bad: we were not very impressed with the burger even though it sounded like it would be one of their signature dishes. It was pretty mediocre at best and needed more flavor since it was on the bland side. Lastly, even though our waitress was nice and personable, the service was just far too slow. A meal that should've been an hour at most took nearly 2 hours just because after we'd ask about something, it would take forever until she got back to us. With such a slow night on a random week day, it took a lot of our time and we were already really tired.
