Enjoyed a pre-birthday brunch here with my sister & brother in law. It was surprisingly so good. Normally, on a buffet if you randomly see a seafood item it's a miss, but not here. The salmon, smashed potatoes, green beans, & zucchini with squash were all seasoned to perfection & cooked well - I'd go back just for these items alone. Another stand out was their smoked jalapeño sausage very good. I personally will skip the monkey bread, hashbrown casserole, & cheese grits next time because texturally they didn't do it for me. I showed my mother a photo/video & she has already requested that we take her the next time that she's in town.
If you're looking for AYCE Brunch, definitely the place to go! It's a restaurant where you can order but if you go on Sunday's they do AYCE Brunch! Food 5/5: for the price, honestly a good deal! It's $30 per person. Mimosas are $15. They have breakfast items but also steak, salmon, and things to make tacos! All so good Service 5/5: our server was great! They took care of us throughout and made sure we're good Ambiance 5/5: it gets busy but they have enough space where you're able to get seated! We still do reservations just in case Parking: I've only gone on Sunday's and it's free parking!
They salt the meat! Real cooks know that in order to get flavorful, juicy protein you have to salt the meat in advance. The pork chop tasted like it came from a real cook. Thank goodness for that pork chop, because the Mac and cheese was not it! It tasted like they put breadcrumbs and cheese on top of the macaroni and cheese they served us back in elementary school. Update: I went to the brunch buffet, and I only have one word: GO!! Upon entering, the hostess was kind and we were seated quickly. Our server had a ton of personality and was very personable, but didn't provide the best service. My water glass stayed empty and although he remembered our orders, he didn't remember any of the other requests - bags, side items, etc, Overall, it's a good meal, snuggled in a quiet spot in Deep Ellum.
Service was decent and the ambiance was casual and comfortable, but the food really fell short for us. We had the chicken fried steak with sweet potato. The sweet potato was actually good, but the chicken fried steak itself was incredibly bland, not crispy at all, and the gravy was watery and flavorless. We also ordered the smothered chop steak well done, but it first came out very pink, which was disappointing. They did remake it and the second one was cooked properly, but the portion was surprisingly small and still lacked any real flavor or depth. I wasn't expecting a showstopper, but for food marketed as "home cooking," it just felt flat and mediocre overall. The experience wasn't terrible, just disappointing considering what we were hoping for.
Great experience. We came for the brunch on lovely weekend. The location is in Deep Ellum area and offers dedicated parking which is a rare find around here. 2 adults and 1 child for buffet. Wife went with mimosa bar but this was a mistake as she only received 1. The waiter has to bring you the champagne. If you opt into this make sure to flag your waiter down and get a refill as soon and often as possible to justify the added charge. The buffet line starts out carb heavy but towards the end of the line is the delicious steak. You also have option for a custom omelet. Next time I go I'll stick with a few omelets and focus on the steak.
My fiancé and I came here on Valentine's Day and the restaurant was pretty busy. We had a reservation and had to wait just a couple of minutes after in order to be seated. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and personable (I wish I remember her name because she did such a good job). She recommended the avocado margarita which I was skeptical about but it was fantastic! The pork chop was incredible and the fajitas were top notch as well! We both love bread pudding and this one was fantastic! Definitely would recommend and want to come back!

I was really looking forward to trying this place, but honestly...it just wasn't all that. I've been on the hunt for a truly amazing steakhouse burger, and sadly this wasn't the one. It looked great, but the patty was bland, literally just a slab of meat, and the only real taste came from the bacon I added on. Solid 3/5 at best. Fries: If you like shoestring fries, you'll probably enjoy these. Crispy, light, not much actual potato going on. Not bad. Culpepper Queso (Cadillac Style): Too thick for my liking and got cold fast. Just didn't impress. 2/5. Cowboy Cigars: Actually pretty good. A little mushy inside, but flavorful with the chicken tinga. 4/5 Cocktails: Decent but weaker than expected for the price. My friend's Old Fashioned was $30 (wild). My Purple Passion was refreshing but didn't feel like a $14 drink. 3/5. The Avo-Suave was really good and on the sweeter side -- 4/5. The Cucumber Kick was solid too: cool cucumber + spicy Ancho Reyes Verde. Our server was genuinely friendly and the service overall was good. The restaurant itself is cute, the whole vibe reminded me of an old nostalgic train station. Best Part? The complimentary homemade flour tortillas. :) Delicious!
Food available was presented well with many options. Davis was our waiter and provided great service. Couldn't ask for a nicer set up with great atmosphere. Prime Rib was cooked to perfection. As always, request a bit of the end cut. Bacon was absolutely tasty. Ordered the Bloody Mary as a build your own option. Right up there with the Prime Rib was the Salmon. Yummy! Definitely will return to this establishment in future. Our Reservation was at 10:00am and our group was 5. Perfect time slot as we arrived when the doors opened.
Great vibe and great lunch at the bar chatting with bartender Devon. The Culpepper Chicken was indeed "tender and juicy" while the side green beans were surprisingly tasty. Quick. efficient and a great meal.

I love that they have their own parking lot that is so helpful and not common in Dallas chile. I had the steakhouse burger and it was very juicy and tender! The fries are shoestring so if it's your thing go ahead and get it ! The people at my table that chose to do the buffet really enjoyed the food and thought the options were great! My drink was okay, not memorable so that's why I knocked it down a star. However, other people enjoyed their drink! I would come back for sure, super cute inside and give an upscale casual vibe !

My mom ordered an 8 oz sirloin medium well with a baked potato and Mac n cheese. Our server was great ! He was funny and respectful. It 45minutes for us to get our food but we had a big party so i chalked it up to that at first, but it was strange to me that i received my salmon and sweet potato before my Mac n cheese. It took 15 minutes at least before i received it, then 10 more minutes before i received my glass drink. My mom had to send her order back because they gave her a medium steak instead of medium well and her drink was way too strong, and our server was kind enough to have her entire meal redone. The manager gave her a side for the inconvenience and removed the drink from her bill. Overall, their service was slow but their recovery made up for the inconvenience. As for the food, the Salmon was PHENOMENAL!!! It was sooo good, I'd definitely order it again. The sweet potato was not good , but my mom said the baked potato was delicious! The Mac and cheese was okay, it tastes mild, nothing really to write home about but my family loved the spinach dip !

The vibe was nice. As for the food, it was mostly basic, with a few highlights. The queso was good, and the fried green tomatoes were alright--nothing bad, just nothing memorable. The calamari had great breading, but unfortunately the texture was a bit rubbery. I also ordered a watermelon drink, but it didn't really taste like watermelon, which was disappointing. On the positive side, the cheesecake was good, and the Cuban cigars were solid and definitely one of the better parts of the meal. Overall, dinner didn't fully win me over, but I'm still interested in giving this place another shot--specifically for brunch, which I think might be more their strength. Probably wouldn't come back for dinner, but I'm open to trying them again earlier in the day.
This place was great! The parking seemed weird at first, but one you get to the web page it was easy enough to get practically free parking. We sat at the bar and had excellent service. The bar tender was always busy, but that never got in the way of her offering assistance to us when we needed it. We opted for Togo food and were asked if we wanted to nosh on some fresh tortillas and butter while we waited. What Texan in their right mind would turn that down? So fresh and yummy. The food was superb. The beans were the most seasoned I've had in the city. Robust and absolutely delicious. The rice did not disappoint either. This tex mex is something special. The chicken fried steak was fine. A good standard, but nothing to drive out of your way for unlike the enchiladas. We really want to come back for the brunch buffet. About $30 and full of freshly made options. We were there closer to 3pm near the end of service and they were still putting out fresh food and maintaining it. Super rare to see that. Also I noticed a build your own bloody Mary and mimosa bar. The spread was fantastic! I really want to come back on a lazy Sunday morning and get good. We will be back! Restaurant week menu Togo! My bartender helped me navigate options as i wanted take out but light portions and suggested the lunch CFS. This was 5oz and came with yummy gravy and mashed potatoes that were bland and dry. Firecracker shrimp had a good but strange taste. Queso is the best ive had! I cannot speak enough to the level of love I have for this place. Everything from the aesthetic, vibe, service, and food is all above par. When you enter, you're always welcomed with a small and you can pick from car sitting or tables. Their menu has plenty of options to pick from and everyone should find something they will enjoy. On weekends they have a brunch buffet that is worth the price and their burgers always hit. Highly recommend checking them out. read more

1. Dirty martinis and avocado margarita and espresso martini were wonderful. The $24 muchaco margarita was not worth the price at all. 2. We got the 24 oz porterhouse and it really didn't have flavor just a slab of butter on it, or would have been better with a flavored butter or some salt. Was really bland. 3. My son and Daughter-in-law tried the brunch in Rockwall so, we decided to try lunch in Dallas. Love the old building with a touch of (rustic) decor and comfortable feeling inside. Plenty of seating (with a patio area as well) and a bar area that I suspect is very popular in the evening. Everyone that waited on us was great! My daughter said she really liked the seasoning on the chicken (not dried out) and we both enjoyed the cowboy potatoes. The smash burger had good flavor but nothing that really jumped out. I have had better. I would like to return to try dinner and see what the evening vibe is like. I understand they are more known for the drinks. Parking is pay to play and looks like it could be tricky at night. (they do offer a valet service). Overall it's a solid 3 for Lunch (and brunch) Give them a try! read more

This was our 2nd time visiting for the weekend brunch buffet. Everything was so delicious and flavorful. This particular day we came for my boyfriend's birthday and our server Gerardo was so kind to provide a nice birthday treat (pictured below) and sing happy birthday to him! What a beautiful experience! And I say that because everyone's attitude was just that! There's a good bit of parking and enough space inside for large parties! The pace is nice as well, the bathrooms were nice and clean and overall the pace is nice and clean. The service was good! And they came around every so often to ask if we were okay. They have tv's by the bar and were able to watch 4 different games. The food was good and filling as well as the drinks. I didn't care for my sandwich the chicken was sorta dry. Apparently I've been driving past a hidden gem for years and just recently found this spot. This restaurant offers $10 chicken or steak fajita plates on Fridays and I'm always down to try a deal so I made my way here. When I walked in during lunch there was a nice little crowd but it wasn't crowded. There was also live music being played and sung by the front door (from what i was able to gather its rotating musicians). As I was by myself, I was seated in the bar area which was a little noisy from the music but it wasn't so loud I couldn't hear myself thinking. The bartender came over, asked about drinks and appetizer and I told her I was there for the fajitas and would start with a water while I would look over the menu just to see what the offered. My food came out pretty quickly and in that time I decided to order a fully dressed beer to wash down this meal with. Now, when my food came, I was a little tickled . . . The portion size was on the small side - yes, I understand, $10, lunch special, blah blah blah . . . However can I get more than a smear of beans and a half a spoon of rice? This is all that I ask for as everything else was on point. The fajita meat was cooked well, had good flavor and was tender. They gave me two tortillas, and all the sides (guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, cheese, pico) to make a great taco . . . I just needed a smidge more bean & rice. However I left satisfied and I would come back, so that's a good sign. Drop by and check them out! read more
What an amazing place to both work and enjoy a nice lunch! Culpepper Cattle is located inside the Continental Gin building. My boss and I decided to stop in for lunch while working inside the bottom floor of the gin building. The ambiance, service, and food were perfect for a quick lunch break. We both enjoyed crunchy tacos with beef and they truly hit the spot! Classic Tex-Mex! We also got to enjoy their delicious ceviche as an appetizer! I came here for my birthday. It was a Monday night. Came right in and was seated not many inside the restaurant. I forgot what I ordered but it was a mixture of tac, enchiladas and flautas.
