My fiancé and I came here on Valentine's Day and the restaurant was pretty busy. We had a reservation and had to wait just a couple of minutes after in order to be seated. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and personable (I wish I remember her name because she did such a good job). She recommended the avocado margarita which I was skeptical about but it was fantastic! The pork chop was incredible and the fajitas were top notch as well! We both love bread pudding and this one was fantastic! Definitely would recommend and want to come back!

SEARED SALMON ENTREE with sweet potato and Mac and cheese

The ambiance in this location was very comfortable and good for groups. I really enjoyed the decor ! The food was okay. I ordered a seared salmon with a sweet potato and Mac and cheese. My mom ordered an 8 oz sirloin medium well with a baked potato and Mac n cheese. Our server was great ! He was funny and respectful. It 45minutes for us to get our food but we had a big party so i chalked it up to that at first, but it was strange to me that i received my salmon and sweet potato before my Mac n cheese. It took 15 minutes at least before i received it, then 10 more minutes before i received my glass drink. My mom had to send her order back because they gave her a medium steak instead of medium well and her drink was way too strong, and our server was kind enough to have her entire meal redone. The manager gave her a side for the inconvenience and removed the drink from her bill. Overall, their service was slow but their recovery made up for the inconvenience. As for the food, the Salmon was PHENOMENAL!!! It was sooo good, I'd definitely order it again. The sweet potato was not good , but my mom said the baked potato was delicious! The Mac and cheese was okay, it tastes mild, nothing really to write home about but my family loved the spinach dip !

Great vibe and great lunch at the bar chatting with bartender Devon. The Culpepper Chicken was indeed "tender and juicy" while the side green beans were surprisingly tasty. Quick. efficient and a great meal.

This was our 2nd time visiting for the weekend brunch buffet. Everything was so delicious and flavorful. This particular day we came for my boyfriend's birthday and our server Gerardo was so kind to provide a nice birthday treat (pictured below) and sing happy birthday to him! The decor is so cute and very on theme with their western vibe. We will definitely be back, we love culpepper!

COWBOY CIGARS

I was really looking forward to trying this place, but honestly...it just wasn't all that. I've been on the hunt for a truly amazing steakhouse burger, and sadly this wasn't the one. It looked great, but the patty was bland, literally just a slab of meat, and the only real taste came from the bacon I added on. Solid 3/5 at best. Fries: If you like shoestring fries, you'll probably enjoy these. Crispy, light, not much actual potato going on. Not bad. Culpepper Queso (Cadillac Style): Too thick for my liking and got cold fast. Just didn't impress. 2/5. Cowboy Cigars: Actually pretty good. A little mushy inside, but flavorful with the chicken tinga. 4/5 Cocktails: Decent but weaker than expected for the price. My friend's Old Fashioned was $30 (wild). My Purple Passion was refreshing but didn't feel like a $14 drink. 3/5. The Avo-Suave was really good and on the sweeter side -- 4/5. The Cucumber Kick was solid too: cool cucumber + spicy Ancho Reyes Verde. Our server was genuinely friendly and the service overall was good. The restaurant itself is cute, the whole vibe reminded me of an old nostalgic train station. Best Part? The complimentary homemade flour tortillas. :) Delicious!

I actually really enjoyed this place! It was packed on Sunday for their brunch, but the staff handled everyone really well. I love that they have their own parking lot that is so helpful and not common in Dallas chile. I had the steakhouse burger and it was very juicy and tender! The fries are shoestring so if it's your thing go ahead and get it ! The people at my table that chose to do the buffet really enjoyed the food and thought the options were great! My drink was okay, not memorable so that's why I knocked it down a star. However, other people enjoyed their drink! I would come back for sure, super cute inside and give an upscale casual vibe !

We went on New Year's, so it was a slower day, which was actually nice. The food came out pretty fast, and our server was excellent--attentive, friendly, and really made the experience better. The vibe was nice. As for the food, it was mostly basic, with a few highlights. The queso was good, and the fried green tomatoes were alright--nothing bad, just nothing memorable. The calamari had great breading, but unfortunately the texture was a bit rubbery. I also ordered a watermelon drink, but it didn't really taste like watermelon, which was disappointing. On the positive side, the cheesecake was good, and the Cuban cigars were solid and definitely one of the better parts of the meal. Overall, dinner didn't fully win me over, but I'm still interested in giving this place another shot--specifically for brunch, which I think might be more their strength. Probably wouldn't come back for dinner, but I'm open to trying them again earlier in the day.

Plenty of seating with a comfortable atmosphere

My son and Daughter-in-law tried the brunch in Rockwall so, we decided to try lunch in Dallas. Love the old building with a touch of (rustic) decor and comfortable feeling inside. Plenty of seating (with a patio area as well) and a bar area that I suspect is very popular in the evening. Everyone that waited on us was great! My daughter said she really liked the seasoning on the chicken (not dried out) and we both enjoyed the cowboy potatoes. The smash burger had good flavor but nothing that really jumped out. I have had better. I would like to return to try dinner and see what the evening vibe is like. I understand they are more known for the drinks. Parking is pay to play and looks like it could be tricky at night. (they do offer a valet service). Overall it's a solid 3 for Lunch (and brunch) Give them a try!

I cannot speak enough to the level of love I have for this place. Everything from the aesthetic, vibe, service, and food is all above par. When you enter, you're always welcomed with a small and you can pick from car sitting or tables. Their menu has plenty of options to pick from and everyone should find something they will enjoy. On weekends they have a brunch buffet that is worth the price and their burgers always hit. Highly recommend checking them out.

Delicious food at a great price! Went on a Tuesday night with my mom as we are from out of town and were in the area. It was nice and quiet. Definitely will be back.

$24 margarita
Allison F.

1. Dirty martinis and avocado margarita and espresso martini were wonderful. The $24 muchaco margarita was not worth the price at all. 2. We got the 24 oz porterhouse and it really didn't have flavor just a slab of butter on it, or would have been better with a flavored butter or some salt. Was really bland. 3. Service was great and place is very cool ambiance!

I got their off menu item of carne asada tacos. The meat was sooooo tender. They don't use flank steak they use a tenderloin and it just melts. The mushrooms were Devine. Glad I ordered the carne asada. The adult Mac and cheese was good but just good. Brussels sprouts were good (not the best I have had) but I think I was also just so full by this point. The asparagus is huge!!! Oh the best finisher ever- the peanut butter pie!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!! I'm not even a dessert girl and I couldn't stop eating it. I loved seeing the steaks and oysters beautifully displayed, and the open kitchen was such a nice touch -- watching the chefs in action added to the whole experience. Our waiter was phenomenal -- super accommodating, attentive, and made us feel like VIPs all night. We shared the cowboy steak ($72) sliced for two and WOW... perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor. Every bite was a moment. The sides to choose from ranged between $16-$18 We ordered the creamed spinach and it was rich and delicious. The wedge salad was fresh and satisfying. The corn brûlée? A crowd favorite -- everyone at the table was obsessed! The only miss for us was the mac and cheese -- good texture, but it didn't leave a lasting flavor impression. What truly made the night special was the energy -- the experience felt personal, warm, and inviting, making it the perfect place to celebrate my sister's 30th birthday. Wicked Butcher didn't just serve a meal... they created a memory. 10/10 would recommend for celebrations, date nights, or when you just want to feel fancy and fed.

The restaurant was practically empty, so we sat in the bar/lounge area. The host and other staff were friendly. Our waiter came off a little smug at first and barely cracked a smile. He honestly seemed a bit annoyed that he had to wait on us, which felt very unfriendly. My friend managed to get him to loosen up a bit as the night went on though, so maybe that's just his personality. To his credit, he was very informative when it came to the main course options. The lighting was dim and intimate. Ambiance was simple and modern. I ordered the sea bass and my friend ordered the beef Wellington. Honestly, after tasting my fish, he ended up enjoying my sea bass more than his own dish. The sea bass was like butter, just as the waiter described it. If fish could fall off the bone, this one would have. It came with rice, cashews, and a ginger miso sauce. The cashews added a really nice crunch and texture and the flavors worked really well together. I thoroughly enjoyed it as b the only downside was the portion size. Like a lot of nicer restaurants, you get one small piece of fish... about the size of my pinky finger. My friend's beef Wellington, on the other hand, was just okay. He didn't say it was bad, but it definitely didn't stand out, especially compared to the sea bass. We also ordered potatoes as a side and the white truffle Caesar salad. The salad was good and the truffle flavor wasn't overpowering, which I appreciated. The potatoes were solid too and paired well with the meal. Dessert, unfortunately, was not it! We ordered the Wicked Sundae. Our waiter had actually recommended the banana pudding or the chocolate tart, but we decided to try something else. We probably should've taken his advice. The sundae tasted mostly like ice cream and was missing the main part of the dish -- the brownie. Nothing to run home about, and it also happened to be the most expensive dessert on the menu. Definitely not worth it.

Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

We were asked to wait. Waited maybe 5-10mins. No biggie, A lot of open tables were available for immediate sit down. Again that wasn't a big deal. I had asked for a booth & wanted to sit in front room. The hostess said no a problem. She handed us off to a younger hostess and she took us to a table. I told her I had requested a booth. In the front room only 3 tables were occupied. I pointed out the booth and she said that's for party of 6. However, we could have the 1/2 table/booth. Made absolutely no sense because that was for a party of 6 as well. I made this comment & she just stared at me without saying a word. I didn't want to seem difficult and took the table as she just walked away. Kev was confused as we were. No good communication skills. It was an awkward encounter. The restaurant wasn't busy at all & never was whole time there. Kev wasn't sure why she didn't move us a requested & was puzzled himself. However i apologized to him & explained I wasn't trying to be difficult, but prefer booth sitting and most times we will wait for one. We left at 1:45p and restaurant was no busier than when we arrived. Reservation/Booth or not! I guess saying all of this, your front staff need to have more people skills when dealing with your customers. They are the face and first point of contact. Again Kev was amazing & food was outstanding!

Pricey poisoning nightmare!…read more What was supposed to be a fancy celebratory night out ($725 with tip) at Drake's for my MIL's birthday ended with one of our family members in the ER and another 2 attached to the toilet (including my 72 MIL). This was roughly 6 hours after consuming seafood from this establishment. The frustrating part is we actually sent one of the 2 dishes back reporting to staff it had a strange odor/taste and was told we weren't familiar with lobster taste (being from NY this is untrue). My MIL was too embarrassed to send hers back so she ate her entire plate and my husband had about 1/4 of his before exchanging it for an alternate dish. As an emergency service provider I fully understand medical incidents like this can happen anywhere, but what prompted this review was way the situation was handled following my reporting. After reporting the incident to management we were met with what felt like an aggressive line of questioning about the members of our medical team and related details. I was told the incident would be escalated to upper management and the team would reach back out, but this never happened, even after a follow-up email. So, it's safe to say after spending a significant amount of money on what was supposed to be a special evening, the entire experience left a very bad taste in our mouths. At the very least, I would have expected some sort of gesture of goodwill or attempt to make the situation right -- even something as simple as a gift card or invitation to return for a better experience. Unfortunately, that never happened. Based on this experience, I would not choose to return and cannot recommend Drake's to others.
