    Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake
    Renee I.

My first time back since to they moved and re-opened. The customer service was pretty good and attentive. We went on a week night so it wasn't packed, but the vibe was very intimate. We the crab cakes as an appetizer, and it was tasty. I would order again. For my entree, I got the Jerk Roasted Lamb Shank. It comes spicy so be mindful. The spice wasn't too much, it was very tolerable. The Lamb was tender and seasoned well, however, there was more fat than I expected. I also had a side of broccoli, my favorite- ah it was so good! Overall a good meal. For dessert, I had the Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake. When it's warm-hot it's 5/5 stars; semi rich and delicious. I would come back again, for dinner or brunch.

We had a 7:45 PM reservation, but upon arrival we were told there were no available tables and were instructed to sit at the bar while we waited. After noticing that parties who arrived after us were being seated first, we approached the host and discovered that we had simply been forgotten. We were finally seated around 8:20 PM. By 8:33 PM, no server had greeted us and we still didn't even have water on the table. At that point, I was already searching for other restaurants nearby. We eventually placed our drink and appetizer orders together, but even that process was problematic. By 9:33 PM, we had only received our drinks. The appetizers finally arrived around 9:35 PM and were lukewarm. We ordered the Asian dumplings, crab cakes, and oxtail empanadas, but the crab cakes were completely forgotten. When our entrees arrived, only two of the three dishes came out together. The crab and shrimp pasta arrived later and was lukewarm. Overall, the food was disappointing--everything was either overly oily or excessively salty. My husband's family is Nigerian and takes great pride in preparing authentic jollof rice, and even they commented that the rice was far too salty. The salmon was also only warm, not hot. To make matters worse, I requested an additional set of silverware and never received it. By the time we paid our bill, I was still sharing utensils with my husband. The biggest issue seemed to be a complete lack of communication between the front and back of the house. Nothing about this experience felt organized or well managed. When I finally spoke with a manager, he was understanding and graciously reduced our bill by 50%, but in my opinion, that did not make up for an evening that was subpar from the moment we walked through the door. What was most telling was that every woman I spoke with in the restroom and outside the restaurant expressed similar frustrations and disappointment with the service they received. This was easily one of the worst dining experiences I've had. Between being forgotten, the excessively long wait times, missing items, lukewarm food, and poor communication, there was not a single part of the experience that met expectations. I would rate this experience 0 out of 10 and will never return. Consider this a cautionary review for anyone considering dining here. By far the worst Father's Day experience ever!

I wish I could've given this place five stars today, but there was a lot of hiccups in our service. Our server forgot to put our orders in twice and so there was a long waiting time before we got our appetizer and additional bread. I received my salmon entrée, and my guests did not receive their entrée until another 15 minutes later. A manager came over to comp our appetizer, which was really nice, but we were not the only table at the restaurant tonight that complained about the service. And we were one of five tables in the entire restaurant so it wasn't busy but service was very subpar. My meal would've been great had my mashed potatoes not been cold when they came out. Overall, everyone was extremely nice. I just wish the service and operations was a little better.

Located in the heart of downtown Dallas off Pacific Avenue, I recently visited the new Pangea location to support the owner, a professional colleague. The ambiance is beautiful -- modern, polished, and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, everything was well organized and we were seated immediately. The customer service was excellent throughout the visit. During brunch, I ordered "The Classic," which was well prepared and enjoyable. Later in the day when the dinner menu reopened at 4 PM (we were already there), my friend ordered the pasta while I tried the mac and cheese -- both were flavorful and satisfying. The drinks were great as well; I had a martini and a tequila sunrise. Our bartender, Will, was professional, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. Next time, I definitely plan to return in the evening and try the stuffed salmon, as the dinner menu has always been appealing. Overall, between the atmosphere, service, and food quality, this establishment earns a 10/10 from me. I'll absolutely be back.

Have Merci was a delicious flavorful meal

I tried the Have Merci at Pangea Restaurant & Bar and it was outstanding. The chicken was incredibly tender, served over creamy mashed potatoes with a rich, flavorful wine sauce that brought everything together perfectly. Every bite was comforting, well-seasoned, and full of depth. The presentation was beautiful, and the service and atmosphere made the experience even better. If you're visiting Pangea for the first time, the Have Merci is a must-try. Definitely one of the most memorable dishes I've had in Dallas.

Pangea has my heart! This new location is back and better than ever. From the stunning patio area to the insides beautiful interior.... This place will definitely be a staple for my summer especially given the new central location. I went for the brunch this time and I tried the breakfast tacos. They were good but I did have to order extra bacon for the texture I prefer. I definitely want to go again for the catfish, shrimp and grits. Overall, this was a good visit, friendly waiter and I know this will be a regular spot for me. I recommend everyone try the brunch AND the dinner menu for a full experience of what Pangea has to offer.

Street parking is limited in close proximity to the restaurant. The inside of the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing. The patio area had exposed roof components therefore, it was not easy on the eyes. Collectively we decide the food was a 7/10. To forewarn you the jerk lamb was extremely spicy and we had to send it back for another salmon plate. The drinks were 10/10. Our server was fantastic, it was his first week there (3/21/2026), but he was thorough and friendly.

Jerk Lamb Shank and Sidecar drink.

My fiancée and I had lunch here and were impressed by the ambience, service, food and drinks. We ordered the oxtail empanadas and they were so good! Well seasoned and the sauce on that side was really flavorful. I went with the Jerk Lamb Shank and it was delicious! Full of flavor and tasted fresh. Our waitress Amber was attentive and personable. Also, the music was good! They played afrobeats, r&b, soca etc. great vibes!

Great service. The red fish entree was very good and flavorful. Service was excellent. Cornbread was overcooked and buttery asf, I don't recommend it. Nice decor, patio gives Miami like vibes. Valet charged us $30 to park the truck on the street 'too big for the garage' . If your feet can stand it park in the parking lot a block away. 1 app, 1 side, 2 entrees, 1 drink, still water ($10). Total ticket $200 w/ tip.

It's not your grandmama's soul food, but it's good. The best thing about Pangea is the service. The hostesses greet you with the warmth of an old friend and the servers are top tier. The bar area is small, but there's plenty of seating to enjoy dinner.

this place a vibe! music playing, food is flavorful, your definitely going to pay but in my opinion it's worth it! Especially for date night. drinks was strong enough snd the peri chicken was fulfilling

Let's start by saying I saw a lot of mixed reviews before coming, and unfortunately my experience reflected that. We arrived around 11 PM to extremely loud music and waited quite a while for a host, even as staff walked past without acknowledging us. Once we were finally seated, we were told several menu items weren't available. No calamari or dumplings, which set the tone early. I will say, our server was great--attentive and professional. However, the food didn't match the level the place seems to promote. We ordered wings, fries, a burger, chicken sandwiches, and catfish. Everything was pretty basic, and some items tasted like they were cooked in old oil or without much care. The catfish was the only dish that felt worth paying for. The space itself also lacked airflow, which made the overall experience less comfortable. I genuinely want to support and see places like this succeed, but the food preparation and overall service need improvement.....especially when it's marketed as a quality experience. The owner did come over and check on the women at our table, which was surprising considering I'm the only one who lives here and a business owner myself. The DJ was amazing and definitely carried the vibe. After a few drinks, the energy of the space picks up--but for me, that wasn't enough to make up for everything else. My entire table felt the same way. Unfortunately, this wasn't a great experience, and I don't see myself returning.

    Pangea Roll
    Laquanda ..

This was my first time at Pangea since I'm visiting in town with a good friend and I must say the food was amazing. It was just so flavorful we started with the Pangea rolls, which was something I've never experienced before, but I hope to have again next we had dumplings. The fried dumplings were so amazing and their Pozo sauce hit the spot. I decided to have the stuff salmon, but I requested potato purée. They don't usually do substitutions, but it was a slow night so I was able to have it my way and I must say I loved it. My friend had the lamb shank and she said it was so amazing and even shared a small piece with me and I must say I agree. lastly, we both decided to have some mocktails tonight and I suggest just mixing it up because the purée does sit at the bottom but overall this was a 10 out of 10 experience must do it again.

Unfortunately, everything else was a struggle from the moment we walked in. We didn't have reservations, but eventually found seats at the bar. Given how busy the place was, we figured the bar would mean faster, more attentive service. We were very wrong. We ordered two beers, a non-alcoholic drink, and three appetizers. The drinks arrived, and the appetizers followed about 10 minutes later -- fine so far. But there were no utensils. We had to ask for them, and we asked for plates as well, which never came. The empty dishes from our appetizers sat in front of us for a solid hour with no one clearing them. The bartender who took our order never once checked on us. With 3-4 people working behind the bar, only one server approached us during the entire 40-minute wait between appetizers and dinner to ask if we needed anything. The bartender told us twice that our food was "coming out shortly" -- and still, 40 minutes passed. When dinner finally arrived, my order was wrong. I ordered the Mongolian Short Rib, listed clearly under the Entree section of the menu. The bartender claimed I had ordered off a "happy hour" menu -- one I never saw or was told about -- and had swapped it for BBQ Pork Ribs without saying a word. Knowing a replacement could take another hour, my friend swapped plates with me and took the ribs. He had ordered the steak frites, which, for a rare steak, should have taken no more than 5-6 minutes to prepare. The third entree, fish and chips, was just okay -- a bit soggy and not particularly fresh. To top it all off, after everything we dealt with, the bartender never asked how our meal was or if we needed anything else. The food has potential, but the service was inattentive, disorganized, and frankly unacceptable for a busy restaurant that should know better.

Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

I called before deciding where to eat on a Sunday afternoon to confirm parking situations. Parking is not easy downtown so this played a huge factor in figuring where, out of the dozens of brunch places, to eat. Definitely a bit of a walk to get accommodated at the actual restaurant so valet seemed the most reasonably enticing for parking solutions. Well, I called and spoke with the lady at the front desk. I confirmed with this little girl FOUR TIMES IF 1. They had valet available today 2. If it was complimentary. Come to find out it was not complimentary. And $7 for parking just doesn't sit well with me when there are ample free options else where with satisfying beverage, meal, ambiance, and service. All of which, I DID NOT GET AT HAYWIRE. I come in and although I had a reservation that I was 10 minutes early for while noticing tables available, I was told by that same girl who lied to me about parking I needed to take a seat. Reassuring me that it would only take two minutes to be seated. 10 minutes later I see coupled and groups walking in and guess what? They were immediately sat. While I am waiting to be sat at one of the three clean tables I'm staring at. I finally tell my boyfriend I am about to eat at the bar and he goes to the hostess stand to inform them our frustration and guess what? We were sat immediately. I get seated and there are two standing fans placed next to my table that's blowing my hair all over the f*****g place. I had to tell them to turn them off. What? No AC in this place either?? We immediately ordered and got the elk tacos for an appetizer. The tacos are WAY too spicy and way too salty. Too spicy AND too salty?? They're a no for me. You literally can't taste anything because of both! I HATED these little tacos. Probably the worst I've ever had. Ever seen someone attempt to pinch a bit of salt to season and the entire top comes off?? These tacos. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak. He loved it (loves spicy and seasonings because he's Cajun) but I tried it and it was over seasoned. Again? Couldn't taste what I was eating. The mashed potatoes were divine. Enjoyed those! And then the green beans were tasteless. Hahaha what a joke. I ordered the barbacoa chilaquiles and it was literally too spicy to eat. Inedible. My eyes teared up, my nose started running, and I couldn't taste anything after a couple bites of the spice. I was so f*****g over this place I just ate my boyfriend's mashed potatoes and we left. If I had it my way, I wouldn't have paid for a thing here. They don't deserve our money and I HATE they got a cent from me. I'm livid. I hate this place W I L L N E V E R B E B A C K

How is it that this CHAIN literally dictates customer attire, behavior and now whether or not someone uses AI, yet management ignores a serious concern with food safety? After getting sick from an undercooked French dip at Hillstone's in Houston, I was naive I was enough to eat at this location for NYE. I understood the salmon would be cooked medium. Towards the end, it was almost completely raw with lukewarm, congealed polenta and soggy broccolini with too much salt and grated cheese. Bleh. ...And the mediocre carrot cake was $15, which is obscene. Post all your prices. If I dine out, I expect the cooking to be superior to my own. Never again.

We found this gem and I can tell you that it was WONDERFUL!…read more We walked in and were greeted with smiles and excitement. There is a bar and comfy sitting area and plenty of tables. I'm going to full up admit that I did a terrible job getting pictures so you're just going to have to trust me. I got to see and visit with my daughter and granddaughter so was over the moon! We ordered the Grilled Lamb Chop Lollipops and the Brisket Risotto Balls for an appetizer. There are only 3 lollipops but they were INCREDIBLE! The presentation was beautiful! The brisket risotto balls were good. Think "boudain" balls. Reinspired and tasty. I ordered the Duck & Rope Pasta, my other half ordered the Beef Arrarbbiata and my daughter and granddaughter shared the Steak Frites. All of it was delicious! The duck confit in the Duck & Rope Pasta was perfect! Don't be scared on this one. It is worth it! For dessert, we ordered the Ferrero Rocher and HOLEY MOLEY! It was huge and delicious. This dessert is rich with the perfect sweetness that won't bite you in the jaw. It is shareable! Overall, I am so happy we tried Bucket & Rope! The service was amazing and I just can't say enough about the quality of the food and overall experience! Thank you Bucket & Rope for a memorable meal!
