Great service. The red fish entree was very good and flavorful. Service was excellent. Cornbread was overcooked and buttery asf, I don't recommend it. Nice decor, patio gives Miami like vibes. Valet charged us $30 to park the truck on the street 'too big for the garage' . If your feet can stand it park in the parking lot a block away. 1 app, 1 side, 2 entrees, 1 drink, still water ($10). Total ticket $200 w/ tip.

So before I left Dallas I went back 1 more time to treat myself to a celebratory dinner for my new job I was about to start. I even brought a friend with me. It was much slower than the previous time I went, so that was good. I greeted by the hostess at the door and she sat us promptly. Our waitress Jazmin came over and introduced herself and answered some questions my friend had about the menu. I ended up ordering the salmon plate and my friend ordered their oysters. Let me just say both were DELISH!!!! The salmon was perfect and the sauce was OMG!!! My friend let me try a couple of oysters and I have to say those were the best oysters I've had. The vibe was very chill for a Friday evening and it was within walking distance to my hotel. I do recommend Pangea to anyone who wants a lil African-American fusion of food you will not be disappointed. I hope to return on visit. Also check out the ladies restroom it's very posh with this cute purple love seat and they provide mouthwash to refresh

Street parking is limited in close proximity to the restaurant. The inside of the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing. The patio area had exposed roof components therefore, it was not easy on the eyes. Collectively we decide the food was a 7/10. To forewarn you the jerk lamb was extremely spicy and we had to send it back for another salmon plate. The drinks were 10/10. Our server was fantastic, it was his first week there (3/21/2026), but he was thorough and friendly.

I wish I could've given this place five stars today, but there was a lot of hiccups in our service. Our server forgot to put our orders in twice and so there was a long waiting time before we got our appetizer and additional bread. I received my salmon entrée, and my guests did not receive their entrée until another 15 minutes later. A manager came over to comp our appetizer, which was really nice, but we were not the only table at the restaurant tonight that complained about the service. And we were one of five tables in the entire restaurant so it wasn't busy but service was very subpar. My meal would've been great had my mashed potatoes not been cold when they came out. Overall, everyone was extremely nice. I just wish the service and operations was a little better.

First time returning since the reopening! The new location is gorgeous! The food and atmosphere were absolutely amazing! We had a slight snag with service but it was quickly corrected. The food and cocktails made up for that! We had brunch and everything was tasty. Cannot wait to return for dinner. Welcome back Pangea!

Located in the heart of downtown Dallas off Pacific Avenue, I recently visited the new Pangea location to support the owner, a professional colleague. The ambiance is beautiful -- modern, polished, and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, everything was well organized and we were seated immediately. The customer service was excellent throughout the visit. During brunch, I ordered "The Classic," which was well prepared and enjoyable. Later in the day when the dinner menu reopened at 4 PM (we were already there), my friend ordered the pasta while I tried the mac and cheese -- both were flavorful and satisfying. The drinks were great as well; I had a martini and a tequila sunrise. Our bartender, Will, was professional, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. Next time, I definitely plan to return in the evening and try the stuffed salmon, as the dinner menu has always been appealing. Overall, between the atmosphere, service, and food quality, this establishment earns a 10/10 from me. I'll absolutely be back.

Let's start by saying I saw a lot of mixed reviews before coming, and unfortunately my experience reflected that. We arrived around 11 PM to extremely loud music and waited quite a while for a host, even as staff walked past without acknowledging us. Once we were finally seated, we were told several menu items weren't available. No calamari or dumplings, which set the tone early. I will say, our server was great--attentive and professional. However, the food didn't match the level the place seems to promote. We ordered wings, fries, a burger, chicken sandwiches, and catfish. Everything was pretty basic, and some items tasted like they were cooked in old oil or without much care. The catfish was the only dish that felt worth paying for. The space itself also lacked airflow, which made the overall experience less comfortable. I genuinely want to support and see places like this succeed, but the food preparation and overall service need improvement.....especially when it's marketed as a quality experience. The owner did come over and check on the women at our table, which was surprising considering I'm the only one who lives here and a business owner myself. The DJ was amazing and definitely carried the vibe. After a few drinks, the energy of the space picks up--but for me, that wasn't enough to make up for everything else. My entire table felt the same way. Unfortunately, this wasn't a great experience, and I don't see myself returning.

It's not your grandmama's soul food, but it's good. The best thing about Pangea is the service. The hostesses greet you with the warmth of an old friend and the servers are top tier. The bar area is small, but there's plenty of seating to enjoy dinner.

This was my first time at Pangea since I'm visiting in town with a good friend and I must say the food was amazing. It was just so flavorful we started with the Pangea rolls, which was something I've never experienced before, but I hope to have again next we had dumplings. The fried dumplings were so amazing and their Pozo sauce hit the spot. I decided to have the stuff salmon, but I requested potato purée. They don't usually do substitutions, but it was a slow night so I was able to have it my way and I must say I loved it. My friend had the lamb shank and she said it was so amazing and even shared a small piece with me and I must say I agree. lastly, we both decided to have some mocktails tonight and I suggest just mixing it up because the purée does sit at the bottom but overall this was a 10 out of 10 experience must do it again.

Drinks that took 45 minutes. The lemon drop was supposed to be blueberry and was more citrusy than anything. No blueberry syrup was added.

I had a terrible experience at Pangea and honestly would not recommend it. We were a table of four and waited 45 minutes just for drinks, which is already unacceptable. It then took another 45 minutes for shrimp flatbreads, and by that point, we were extremely frustrated. When I noticed the owner, I politely asked our server if he could come speak with us. I calmly and respectfully explained the long wait times and also mentioned that the music selection lacked variety. Instead of receiving that feedback professionally, the owner, Kevin Ashade, responded with an attitude that was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. As Black women, we approached him with respect, and the way we were treated in return was extremely disappointing. At that point, we decided it was best to cancel our order and go elsewhere. However, even after that decision, my shrimp flatbread still came out another 35 minutes later--and it was incorrect. To make matters worse, my friend overheard him say, "Get these b***** out of here!"* in reference to us. That was shocking, disrespectful, and completely unacceptable behavior from any business owner. No customer--especially those who are calm and respectful--should ever be spoken about or treated like that. The lack of accountability, poor service, and outright hostility overshadow what could have been a great experience in a beautiful establishment. If you can't handle constructive feedback or treat your guests with basic respect, you shouldn't be in hospitality. We will not be returning.

Very spacious restaurant. We came on a Wednesday night and it was decently busy. I think it'd be a really cool vibe on a weekend as well. I really wanted to try the jollof rice but they were out. I ended up having a poke bowl and greens. The greens were delicious and the poke was also tasty.

My Drink was very good! Thanks Will for making my hibiscus drink delicious! I will definitely be back to try the food! And the service was great as well. Come check out this newly open restaurant! Black owned as well.

We were able to make reservations for 9:00pm. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a few welcoming hostesses. Michael was our server very attentive and communicative. We started with the snow crab claws as an appetizer the cream sauce made the dish. We also ordered the Have Merci Chicken and Fried Rice w/ a side of Brussels sprouts. My only reason for the four stars is that the music was blaring at it was hard to hear each other when talking. Other wise, everything was great

Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

Knowledgeable about the menu & great recommendations. Kev was a joy to have as our server. The food is amazing & love the ambiance of the restaurant. My only complaint...we came in early Saturday prior to Stars game. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked if we had a reservation. We did not, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked to wait. Waited maybe 5-10mins. No biggie, A lot of open tables were available for immediate sit down. Again that wasn't a big deal. I had asked for a booth & wanted to sit in front room. The hostess said no a problem. She handed us off to a younger hostess and she took us to a table. I told her I had requested a booth. In the front room only 3 tables were occupied. I pointed out the booth and she said that's for party of 6. However, we could have the 1/2 table/booth. Made absolutely no sense because that was for a party of 6 as well. I made this comment & she just stared at me without saying a word. I didn't want to seem difficult and took the table as she just walked away. Kev was confused as we were. No good communication skills. It was an awkward encounter. The restaurant wasn't busy at all & never was whole time there. Kev wasn't sure why she didn't move us a requested & was puzzled himself. However i apologized to him & explained I wasn't trying to be difficult, but prefer booth sitting and most times we will wait for one. We left at 1:45p and restaurant was no busier than when we arrived. Reservation/Booth or not! I guess saying all of this, your front staff need to have more people skills when dealing with your customers. They are the face and first point of contact. Again Kev was amazing & food was outstanding!

If you hadn't told me it was duck, I probably would have thought it was chicken. The mimosa was a build your own, it came with 3 juices - orange, pineapple and cranberry - and you got to pour as much or as little juice as you wanted. Between the two of us, we each got about 3 glasses. I got the French toast, which tasted like a deep fried donut, in a good way. The outside was crunchy, the inside still had the pillow custard texture. However in my opinion it needed more of the apple pecan slaw especially if you weren't trying to drown them in syrup. My friend had the chilequillas which she really enjoyed but did mention a few times that it was a little spicy. We ended the meal with dessert which was rich and luscious but oh so delicious. It was a cholesterol mouse that was covered in a hazelnut chocolate shell with a raspberry sauce. Overall a great time was had & I'd gladly go back to try more.
