Super cute boutique-style restaurant in downtown! Feathers were everywhere, giving it a whimsical, almost bohemian vibe, and purple neon signs that cast a gorgeous purple glow throughout the place that really added to the atmosphere. It was like stepping into a dreamy little hideaway! As for food, I'd rate it an 8/10 overall. For my main course, I had the Wagyu burger it was juicy and flavorful. The brussels sprouts were delicious, crisp on the outside and tender inside, so I'd give them a solid 8/10 as well. For appetizers, I tried the spicy edamame and calamari. The edamame was *amazing*, so flavorful with just the right kick of spice. However, the calamari wasn't quite up to par -- it was a bit tough and chewy, which was a disappointment. The service, however, was excellent. Our server was attentive, friendly, and gave us great recommendations. I do hope this place can continue to thrive because it's a hidden gem, but I didn't see any other tables with guest. Fingers crossed they manage to stick around! I visited Dallas for the very first time and came up with a list of places to check out. Beehive was one of them. I'm a sucker for a nice aesthetic and good music so I was pleasantly surprised. It's definitely a cute place to visit with your girlies to catch up or if you just wanna get cute for a night out. I got the chicken lettuce wraps and calamari which were actually really good! The espresso martini on the other hand tasted like Yoo-Hoo. Yes, a malty chocolate milk. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad but it did not taste like an adult beverage. Cute restaurant with a lounge feel in Downtown Dallas. There were no tables available, so I dined at the bar. I opted for light fare, which included the Volcano Shrimp Balls and the Downtown Buzz. The balls come with 2 generously sized shrimp with onions that are wrapped in spring roll strips. You get a side of chili sauce that pairs perfectly when the shrimp balls. The Downtown Buzz was literally the buzz with its sweet taste of passion fruit puree and pineapple rum. Patronized this restaurant during happy hour on a Monday. The atmosphere is upscale, no effort no entry..there is a dress code. The space is decorated very classy. The service at the front desk was very welcoming but the waitress was mid. The happy hour menu is reasonably priced and the food was good! My party of three ordered the cheeseburger, Korean bao buns and the sushi tower along with boba margaritas, red and white wine. The sushi was delicious and that eel sauce topped it off! The margaritas were tasty but the wine was a no for me. The reason for four stars instead of five was the average waitress and the water that tasted "different" maybe it was infused but should've been told if it was. Also, my chair was wobbly because of the uneven wooden floor but it wasn't too big of a problem because the place is gorgeous! Parking is metered, it's downtown so be prepared for that. Be warned this place is strictly ambiance and photo ops; the food was blah and not worth capturing photos. The service, food, and drinks need attention. Our server was friendly, but he mentioned he was new and he did not know the menu well to accommodate requests; patience was necessary as he needed to go ask about our specific questions. Additionally, I was told the bartenders couldn't make a sangria, which wasn't true; I went to the bar and asked and I was told it would be charged as a regular drink instead of the happy hour special. I honestly could've skipped the drink. The sangria was mostly ice. Not enough to enjoy. My friend tried the boba margarita and felt it would've been better without the boba. The menu options aren't specific to one cuisine. I had shrimp tacos that were overcooked, so the shrimp was tough to chew. The truffle fries were very plain. Nobody at our table could figure out the reason for crunchy noodles all over the shrimp balls. We were absolutely unimpressed with the food. FYI: Parking garage across the street from Beehive. The bad - Our service was rushed because they had a large party after us. Not a great experience for my first time. Waitresses seem to be really busy and not attentive enough. In their favor the staff are hard-working and want to please you. They are as cute as a button and I felt like they were doing their absolute best with what they have. The decor is 1990s leftover from apocalypse disco! It doesn't work and a few minor changes would do wonders (hint hint owner). The prices are in line and id say on par, with other restaurants in this league. Now,drum roll, please. the single redeeming quality that I stumbled into here is the happy hour. We came in on the tail end of happy hour and saved a ton of money. I mean its a true happy hour with some things 1/2 price. If I were to go back it would be to happy hour only. Now for the best part. What drew me in was a picture on Yelp of a Blue drink called the Naughty Bee. Hear me now believe me later. I had up until that point never had a blue adult beverage. That's right. This restaurant is cutely decorated with decent food. 3/4 of us in my party got the French toast. I don't like eggs or eggy toast and all of ours was cooked well without me asking it to be fried hard. I also got a side of bacon (crispy). But all of us who got bacon was crispy without asking. I tried my friends' potatoes. They were a bit salty for me but cooked and seasoned well. I ordered a mimosa flight which was good. The mango was my favorite but also the most sugary I think. Decided to check this spot out with a couple of friends (there is parking across the street in the parking garage for $7.00). The aesthetics is VERY NICE with multiple spots to take great photos. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly and customer service was consistent throughout the night. I ordered the Pork Chop and a side of mushrooms. The sides do come separately but they give you a piece of broccolini and carrot. Definitely order a side if you'll need more food. The pork chop was seasoned very well but it was extremely dry. The honeycomb butter gave the chop a sweet finish but the only thing that made it slightly better was the A1 steak sauce I asked for. The mushrooms were really good and garlicky. For drinks, I ordered the downtown buzz and Dallas queen bee. Both drinks were quality made and I enjoyed them.
