Dined here with some of my sorority sisters recently. We made reservations for a Tuesday evening. It wasn't that busy, but I'm told it's quite the scene on a Friday night!! We were greeted & seated upon arrival. Inside is dimly lit with a nice, cozy vibe. There's music playing which can get loud at times if you're trying to have a conversation, but I overall. Our server was very friendly. We ordered a few drinks - I cannot remember the name of mine but it was very tasty. Upon arriving, the entrance is really nicely decorated. The attendants there took us to our table and the restaurant was exquisitely decorated. The bar area was very nice. There's a nice seating area near the bar and another dining room area. We were taken to the dining room area. I decided to get the Hangover Cure Bloody Mary. The Bloody Mary was very strong and tasty however it was missing the celery, olives, and pickled okra. After asking our server brought us olives. Seeing that this cocktail is $17, I think it should have come with all of the items listed. I wasn't very hungry and decided to split the fried chicken wings with a friend and get the all hail Caesar salad. The all hail Caesar was very disappointing. The Caesar dressing was just ok and there wasn't much cheese in the salad. The dressing needed salt and pepper. The salad looked good but was average at best. The wings were flavorful and fried well but pricey at 4 wings for $15. Overall I think the restaurant is a beautiful space. I would go back for happy hour, but I feel that for brunch and I know dinner you just don't get the value for what you pay for. I absolutely loved everything--from the vibe and décor to the service and, of course, the food. We went for dinner on Sunday evening and arrived just as they were starting dinner service. The restaurant was beautiful inside--swanky, elegant, and very well designed. There were large booths perfect for group dinners and nicely spaced tables so you don't feel crowded. Everything was extremely clean and well kept. All of the servers were in uniform, smiling, and speaking to guests. It genuinely seemed like they enjoy what they do. Our server's name was Leah. She was very personable and patient. I told her about my allergies, and she took great care to check on an item for me. She came back and recommended an alternative because she didn't think what I originally wanted would be safe. I really appreciated that level of attention. We started with a dirty martini, a smoked old fashioned, chargrilled oysters, and crab beignets--FANTASTIC. The man ordered the wagyu ribeye (Leah's suggestion), and I ordered the blackened snapper. Both were excellent. For sides, we chose the lobster mac and cheese and the garlic mashed potatoes. Everything came out promptly, at the perfect temperature, and seasoned beautifully. Portions were generous, so we had leftovers of everything. We also ordered the carrot cake and tequila even though we were stuffed. The carrot cake was very good at the restaurant, but it was fantastic once I warmed it up at home--cream cheese frosting warmed up is my favorite. A photographer came by and offered a complimentary photo. She said she'd bring the free one and also bring framed versions we could purchase. The photos were done really well, and the frame was very nice. I had no plans to buy anything, but I ended up getting all three--$20 each. Lol. The manager stopped by to ask about our experience (I told him how much we loved it). He mentioned they have live music on Fridays and Saturdays, and they also offer weekend brunch. All in all, I loved everything about this place. My only gripe--and this applies to every restaurant with this policy--is the automatic gratuity. In this case, the service was fantastic, so it didn't matter. But I've been to places where the service didn't warrant the 20% they automatically charge. That's just my personal pet peeve. I've been hearing so much about this place. I finally came to try it out for Happy Hour. They do provide HH M-F on a first come, first serve basis from 4-7pm. I came around 5p. They have the main bar seats, and right behind it is more lounge chair type seating in the same area. The food and drinks were amazing. The drinks I had were the lemon drop martini and sidecar. As far as food, I enjoyed chili glaze shrimp, the dip, and truffle lemon pepper wings. I enjoyed it all! Be aware they do come in small portions. They also charge a 20% gratuity fee to all parties. I love them more than my brunch order of a garden omelette with potatoes but this was good as well. Ordered a carafe of mimosa with cranberry juice to share, delicious. Shortly after ordering, the bartender came back and asked me to repeat my main because he forgot. I also asked for the Wi-Fi password, and he said he would check but never followed up. I ordered the crab beignets and snapper Orleans -- both had good flavor but unfortunately were served cold, which was surprising and made it seem like the food had been sitting out before being brought to me. Wow! I had an amazing time at Winsome Prime celebrating my friend's birthday. From the moment I arrived everything exceeded my expectations. I wasn't sure about the parking situation so I was happy to see the large "free" parking lot. Once inside, I was blown away from be stunning decor. It truly set the tone for the birthday brunch. I also love that it's black owned which I always love to support. To start I ordered Expresso Martini, entree the AMERICANA CLASSIC $21 traditional breakfast plate served with your choice of sausage or bacon, 2 eggs your way, Texas toast, and green chili. Also for the price on happy hour is unbeatable. But recently I went and I was not happy to see that they are charging 20% gratuity now at happy hour and also that they have changed the menu and up increased the prices on some of the menu items. Yes, I understand that you do have to increase with time but $11 for the shrimp when it's only three is crazy. I feel like a lot of time establishments put the automatic 20% gratuity because sometimes service can't lack and they want to make sure that they are guaranteed. Winsome Prime has been on my list to try ever since they opened back in April 2025. Thanks to their Thanksgiving menu, I was finally able to stop in and experience some of what they have to offer. When I say experience, dining here is just that...an experience!!! For Thanksgiving Day, they offered a special menu that featured many traditional Thanksgiving dinner choices. Also, they offered their complete brunch menu as another option. Leading up to my visit, I did my research and was prepared to order from their brunch menu but as I saw plates of the Thanksgiving options being delivered to other tables, I quickly decided I would forgo brunch and order from the special menu. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. For my entree, I went with the Hawaiian Glazed Ham (smoked turkey was the other protein option) along Cornbread Dressing and the Three Mac & Cheese as my sides. Little did I know, this was just the meal that I needed. For dessert, I chose "Mom's Carrot Cake" and it was tasty with just the right amount of house-made cream cheese icing!! Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the food! Service was top-notched!!! Our table was never left unattended. As a matter of fact, one person of the group accidentally dropped their fork and within seconds our server showed up with a replacement. Add to that, the GM (Tony) went around to each table to ensure everyone was having an awesome experience. Having not ordered from the brunch menu, I experienced a bit of FOMO and decided to return 2 days later for that experience. Similar to the experience on Thanksgiving Day, I was not disappointed. For my entree, I chose the Winsome Chicken N' Waffles which was very tasted. I was able to sample the 'Smoked Oxtail Hash' and that is definitely on my list to order in the near future. The dinner menu looks very intriguing so that's next on my list to check out. As for the space, in addition to the dining room, there is a large bar area that includes bar-side seating along with a number of high-top tables and chairs. Additionally, there is space for private dining that seats ~10 people. Lastly, there is also a speakeasy area that contains several leather chairs and sofas. When I first saw the space, I immediately thought 'cigar lounge' but unfortunately, cigar smoking is currently unavailable. As for parking, in addition to a large lot that is shared with other nearby businesses, they offer talent parking. Having visited twice within a 3-day period, it goes without saying that Winsome Prime is an absolute favorite of mine and I look forward to returning many times. We visited Winsome Prime for Mother's Day brunch as a party of 7, including 3 children, and overall had a really great experience. We made our reservation about a month in advance and had no issues at all with booking. The process was quick and easy. Leading up to our reservation, however, there was some confusion regarding the menu being served during our reserved time. After calling ahead, we were told there would be a children's menu available and that we could order from either the brunch or dinner menu. Unfortunately, once we were seated, we found that only the brunch menu was available. Since this was our first visit, several of us had already looked through the online menus and picked out dinner items we wanted to try, so it was disappointing to have to pivot, especially for those in our group who aren't really breakfast food people. Thankfully, we were still able to find dishes everyone enjoyed, and the food itself was exceptional. Standouts for our table included the dip (definitely add the crab!), the steak and eggs, and the Nashville chicken sandwich. We also ordered the oxtail hash, but it was a little too spicy for our mom due to the jerk seasoning, which wasn't clearly advertised on the menu. Thankfully, the issue was addressed quickly and professionally. The true highlight of our experience was the service. From the hostess to servers simply passing by our table, everyone was warm and friendly. Our server, Cooper, was absolutely fantastic. His smile, energy, and sense of urgency had us laughing because he practically ran to grab whatever we needed, yet never missed a beat. We had a few feral children in our group, and he handled them with so much patience and kindness, even entertaining their off-the-wall requests. Came here recently for a company event. They had our group of 25 or so in the Speakeasy and it was really nice! The moody decor hit you at the door - it even smells dark & sexy in there! We had a vegan, vegetarian & pescatarian in the group and everyone had enough to eat for the most part. I arrived around 4:15 PM on a Thursday, excited to dine again. As soon as I opened the door, I was immediately stopped by a man at the entrance who told me they "don't allow sweatsuits." For context, I was wearing a matching Aritzia set, Balenciaga sneakers, and carrying a Louis Vuitton bag--so this wasn't sloppy or inappropriate attire by any means. What made the situation even more frustrating is the inconsistency. During my first visit (on a Friday), I saw multiple guests dressed very casually--jeans, laid-back outfits, and honestly some that looked far less put-together. I've also heard similar feedback from friends who've dined here. To make matters worse, right after I was turned away, another guest was allowed in wearing extremely short shorts, which made the dress code enforcement feel selective at best. I loved the rustic vibes with the jazz playing for brunch. We started off with crab beignets and chili glazed shrimp. I'm from Maryland so I was not a fan of the beignets. This also gave me another chance to try them out after I went for the grand opening weekend. So here was a rule I disagreed with. To participate with restaurant week your whole table has to use that menu. Excuse me my aunt didn't want anything on this menu and wanted the regular menu. What kind of nonsense is this. I had to get the manager on this one. You still making money and why force one person to use this menu. Manager agreed to let her order from regular menu. The regular menu was available so this was baffling. Minority businesses need to do better. It's hard to support them with so many different rules. Im going to give the GOOD, BAD and UGLY. Good My waitress was sweet and friendly. She apologized for the wait. I think they are short staffed still. The collard greens were tasty. The crab beignets are delicious. Stuffed spinach was yummy. Bad Chicken Royale was not good. The chicken was so DRY. The mashed potatoes and sauce were the saving grace. I left most of the chicken. I really should have sent it back. 2 STARS Kung Pao Pasta This has potential, but with only 2 shrimp for the cost. It's not worth the price. This was also dry and the noodles needed more sauce. He came over to the table to check on us. I always think this is a great idea. When he asked us our HONEST opinion we gave it. The restroom had toilet paper this time so that was a plus. However, someone needs to check on it throughout the evening. It needed to be cleaned up. Overall it was an ok experience. The service saved this experience. Nice classy style restaurant located adjacent to the once thriving Trinity Grove area. My dinner date was at night, so the dim lights and the fancy table settings were very romantic. The music was a little loud in the beginning, but was lowered just before the live music. Our server was awesome from beginning to the end, but not too familiar with the cocktail menu. My friend does not eat pork, but he was quick on making food suggestions from the simple menu. The food presentation was great, but the taste was just ok. My pasta dish was a little salty, and the "special carrot cake" was dry and tasted more like ginger, or a spice cake. The prices are pricing, yet pretty in line with those type of restaurants. We started with happy hour at the bar before transitioning seamlessly to our dinner reservation, which I really appreciated. For happy hour bites, we shared the truffle lemon pepper wings and crab beignets. The wings were crisp with just the right hint of truffle, and the beignets were rich without being too heavy. Once we checked into our table, we brought our drinks over and continued the evening with entrées. I had the double-boned pork chop, which was cooked to perfection and full of flavor, while my wife thoroughly enjoyed her spinach-stuffed salmon fresh, savory, and beautifully plated. The entire experience was excellent. The service was attentive without being intrusive, the ambiance was warm and celebratory, and the food exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Came here for a friends birthday dinner and it was 10/10. I loveee the Houston location for this restaurant so my expectations were high and they didn't disappoint! Drinks were delicious - across the table. Food was even more delicious. I tried the red snapper, lasagna, and Mac and cheese and loved every bite. In the past I've tried their steak, mashed potatoes, and broccolini which is also delicious. The entire table wanted to-gos even if it was one last bite! The vibe is perfect for date night or special events. It is both trendy and upscale at the same time. Lots of chances for photo ops. And last but not least the service is incredible. Mot only are the servers fast, attentive, and super knowledgeable about the menu - the manager noticed we were cold and even turned off the ac for us. Very much so for the girlies!!! read more

We visited Winsome Prime during restaurant week and I must say I will be a regular. Walking in, you immediately see the chic and sophisticated designs that carry through to the to the lounge and dining area. The music created a vibe where you can sing along while easily enjoying good conversation, drinks and of course a great meal. We didn't make a reservation but were able to get seats in the lounge area as happy hour was ending. The dining area looked really nice but it was definitely packed the whole time we were there. We ordered: The TRUFFLE LEMON PEPPER WINGS: They were seasoned well and delicious. I didn't get as much lemon as I prefer which worked well for my friend who in her words hates zesty wings THE DIP: The spinach and artichoke was so good. My only regret is not adding the crab meat. CHICKEN ROYALE: My friend said it was a 10/10 and only stopped herself from finishing it to make room for dessert! KUNG PAO PASTA: The dish as is was heavily sauced and a bit overwhelming for me. The manager was able to get the dish remade for me and I really enjoyed it. Both of our desserts were delicious but I definitely prefer the RUM BUTTER CAKE over the RAINBOW BIRTHDAY CAKE that my friend ordered. Went here on Christmas with a few friends, and between the smell of that savory, charred aroma from a hot broiler and cast iron to the playlist, I knew we were in the right place. We ordered a mix of appetizers and entrées, and for the most part it was clean plates all around. My one suggestion: skip the crab beignets. It's basically lump crab deep-fried with no real seasoning or standout sauce to bring the flavor to life. The service was definitely in line with what you would expect from a standout Steak restaurant: attentive, polite, genuinely interested in you having a great meal. But whatever you do... do not skip dessert. The bread pudding and rum butter cake are unreal. That first bite with vanilla ice cream on top is genuinely last-meal worthy. We started off at the bar since we were early for our reservation. The bar tender area was cool and the people sitting sr the bar conversed which was a surprise. Our reservation time was honored . We started with the Asian Sesame Cauliflower- and The Dip which was good . Main course -Snapper New Orleans - Stuffed salmon The snapper was good but the salmon was better over the risotto. The drinkers were delicious and the server was nice and knowledgeable. Definitely return to try for brunch! Oh and the live music that wasn't too loud was good too! So I came back... for dinner this time! Their restaurant week deal was ridiculously good. They continued with great service. First Course: Chili Glazed Shrimp: 7/5 Crab Beignets: 5/5 Spinach Dip: 4/5 Truffle Lemon Pepper Wings: 3/5 The wings lacked the lemon and pepper flavors. It was like eating a plain wing with reminisce of truffle. Second Course: Kung Pao Pasta: 3/5 Lobster Mac n Cheese: 4/5 The pasta wasn't bad, it just wasn't for me. I was expecting more hints of sweet, but it was all savory. Third Course: Butter Rum Cake: 6/5 I tried Oysters for the first; I think they were fried. It was good, however, very butter. My daughter and I came here for dinner and enjoyed our experience. We were given a warm and friendly greeting by a gentleman who opened the door as well as staff at the host/hostess stand. We didn't have a reservation but was able to sit at the bar. Make a reservation to guarantee seating. The bartender/server who took care of us was friendly as well. The ambiance was sophisticated and we loved the decor. As the night went on they adjusted the light setting to dim them just a bit, which added to the experience. We started with The Dip. This can be a hit or miss depending on where you go. It was a hit. I should have ordered some to-go to nibble on the next day. My daughter ordered the Spinach-Stuffed Samlon (cooked medium), she indicated the dish was delicious and moist. I ordered the Snapper Orleans. The dish was flavorful and I was surprised by the pairing of risotto and collard greens, because I do enjoy a good risotto. They went well together. The only critique about the dish now that I look back was I didn't see or taste any crab. I'll/We'll be back for sure. read more

I recently had the opportunity to dine in for a birthday celebration. Parking is conveniently located which is a plus. But they also offer valet as an option. The ambiance is really nice. It has a nice moody, upscale, but not too stiff kind of feel to it. I loved the decor and aesthetic overall. Our server Shelby was pretty good especially for a large party. The food was good. I ordered the lamb chops and the flavor was on point. I only had one hiccup with one of them being highly fatty and not medium well as ordered but besides that, everything was great and I would definitely return. read more

Admittedly, the event was packed which possibly impacted the service I experienced. I stood at the bar for a while before being acknowledged, but again, it was packed. I didn't mind, however there were more barbacks than bartenders. That's a problem. More bartenders were needed. At long last, I was acknowledged and assisted by a bartender. My Old Fashioned was excellent and was on happy hour which made it even better! Happy Hour lasts until 7 during the work week which is fantastic. After getting a drink, my friend and I were ushered into the speakeasy. It was very nice. We sat and were immediately given a menu by the waitress. After about 20 minutes, we found that she never came back to us. She assisted other tables and even brought food to other tables WHO CAME IN AFTER US, but we were never approached to give our food orders. We even tried to flag her down, to the point where i got up to go after her. She was busy talking to other tables. While waiting to get her attention, the other server in the section entered the space and stopped him. He said that he could take our orders. At this point, it was about 30 minutes after we were taken to that section. We gave him our food orders and I ordered a smoked old fashioned. After about 20 more minutes, we had received our food but I was still waiting for my drink. A busser came in with a smoked old fashioned. I was waved at him from my seat to get his attention as I figured it had to have been mine. Four other ladies nearby saw me waving and started waving at him to get his attention. HE IGNORED US ALL AND WALKED BACK OUT WITH THE DRINK! I was irritated. About 10 minutes later, my waiter came back in with a tray of drinks including a smoked old fashioned. I just knew he was going to come to me after dropping the other drinks. NOPE, NOT AT ALL. He was RIGHT BY ME giving someone their check, I was waiting on him to finish to get his attention to make sure he gave me my drink. Would you believe that this "fool" turned around and walked back out with the drink AGAIN! WHAT THE ENTIRE EFF?! At this point I was pissed. I finished my crab beignets which were good and was about 1/3 done with my truffle fries, which were also good, and decided to try my luck at the bar. Back to the mob of people, waiting to get noticed at the bar. I eventually got my smoked old fashioned from the bartender and went back to my section. The waiter came back through the room and I flagged him to ask for my check and a box, and I let him know that I never got my drink so he needed to make sure it was off of my check. Would you believe that he tried to act like he did nothing wrong on why I didn't get my drink, making excuses about him and his coworker coming through carrying one and didn't know where it was supposed to go, like that was my fault?! I was pissed! I told him "I'll give you all a little grace because it's busy in here but I and others were waving at the busser to get him to see me and he didn't, and you were standing right by me and didn't give me my drink, and there's no excuse for that. Just make sure it's off my check as you NEVER gave me the drink I ASKED YOU FOR." Winsome Prime, Manager, Owner, Staff, you have got to do better. This was my first experience with your restaurant, and if I had to go off of this, I would most likely not return. Adding 20% gratuity for less than 15% worth of service is foul. Noted. read more
