What a fun joint! I only found White Rock Brewing Co because our friend Robin Lore was hosting an open mic night -- and I'm so glad we did. From the outside, it's easy to miss: no hype, no pretense, just a welcoming spot tucked away. But the moment we walked in, I felt something I hadn't felt in years -- this is Austin the way it used to be. Friendly faces, a mix of every kind of person, laughter carrying across the indoor/outdoor space. There's an easy rhythm here; you can wander between the open air and the cozy taproom and feel like you belong either way. The beer list is broad -- plenty of craft choices without the snobbery -- and they even have a full bar if someone in your group isn't a beer drinker. We grabbed a flight to explore, and every pour was thoughtful and fresh. What really stuck with me, though, was the vibe: unpretentious, creative, and alive. Watching Robin sing under the warm lights while strangers clapped along felt like Austin 20 years ago -- authentic and welcoming without trying to be cool. We came for a friend's show and left feeling like we'd stumbled onto a little piece of the city we love. Cheers! Uncle Chris

Great beer, good food and fun times. I like this place a lot. There's plenty of indoor space with an outdoor area that is just as large! They also have a pretty good Froze deal. They'll have live music or events such as trivia so be sure to follow their IG page if you wanna know if anything is going on. It can get busy but the nice thing is that it is not overpopulated like bishop arts or deep ellum. Check it out for a chill time.

    Texas Heat

Very good brewery with a very solid kitchen, and great happy hour offerings daily. Don't let the dark appearance from the outside fool you, they are open daily until 10pm. We came in later in the night so the bartender and a couple people in the kitchen were holding down the fort. Even with the skeleton crew, service was very prompt and all of our food was fresh. We ordered a Texas Heat pizza and the wings (half jerk, half lemon pepper). The Texas heat was great and gets bonus points for using fresh jalapeño. The wings were delicious I liked both the jerk sauce and the lemon pepper seasoning. Honestly my only complaint is that. They don't currently refill or offer growlers.

Did not go inside- was just out on the patio for the young dems meeting. The space is great and all the servers were great. I just had chips and queso and water this time but they were great. Only heard great things from those around me. Will definitely be back to experience more of what this spot has to offer. Thank you for supporting democracy!

Not sure if this is a Brewery with a restaurant or a restaurant with a brewery? But it works how ever you roll. I had the chips and queso, and their burger (sans fries). Everything was great! Cold beer was in front of me before I could finish my order and the food was prompt and perfect. Best burger contender!

    Blueberry Lemon Drop Martini

This is a large and spacious brewery. There are indoor, covered outdoor, and sun bathing outdoor seating. Dog drinking bowls are provided. I ordered the blueberry martini but I didn't get a blueberry and that's okay. There is a heavy duty beverage cooler with cups placed outside for self serve water. Service was slow at first but improved when a different server was helping us. Limited free parking in front of the brewery but you can find street parking or park in the garage then walk to the brewery.

    Ahi Tuna "Nachos" lol

I would only really recommend this place if you are looking for a nice space to have beer with friends. The food wasn't too impressive. We actually ordered the "best seller" appetizer which was the ahi tuna nachos and were EXTREMELY disappointed. $14 for 6 chips. Not even kidding. Not only that but their hand was heavy when dressing them with their wasabi aioli. It was SO overpowering that it just made the whole thing taste bad. We had to scrape it off our wonton chips because it was just so overwhelming. So if I couldn't trust their so called "best seller" in their apps, I definitely didn't want to venture into their other food. Their service was a bit slow, looked like there was only one bartender at the time.

Great selection of hand crafted beer and food menu. The beer flight is a great way to try an assortment of amazing beer. The pumpkin spice latte ale is the bomb! If you are a coffee lover this is your ale! Ahi Tuna Nachos this is a delectable non-traditional nacho that is superb. It is so beautiful that it is hard to want to eat it - but you will!!! Plenty of available parking.

Really great new brewery to the area. When we went, they had no in-house pours available but a fair amount of other local options. They also have cocktails, margs, daiquiris and a nice set of food options. Plenty of indoor seating, covered tables and outdoor options. Really conveniently, you can order from your table, pick your options and pay right in browser. Staff was friendly and prompt for service. Overall, really satisfied and excited to see what happens here in the future!

I'm a 35-year-old dad, so I appreciate places that feel relaxed and family-friendly, and this definitely checked those boxes. They had live music going on, and it was actually really pleasant--not too loud, just a nice vibe in the background while we hung out. We brought our dog along too, and there was plenty of space for him to chill comfortably, which is always a big plus for us. The beers we tried were good across the board, and there's a nice variety to choose from. Between the indoor and outdoor seating, there's plenty of room whether you're trying to stay cool or enjoy the weather. Overall, it's an easygoing spot with good drinks, a welcoming atmosphere, and space for the whole family (including the dog). We'll definitely be coming back.

The grilled cheese was great, but I've gotta be honest -- the tomato soup tasted more like tomato paste thinned out with a bit of water. It didn't have that classic tomato‑soup flavor I was expecting. Aside from that, the atmosphere here is awesome. It's welcoming for both families and adults, and the space has a fun, energetic vibe. We came for a ping‑pong session, and it was the perfect setting -- clean, lively, and very community‑driven. A big shoutout to Abby, who helped us the most during our visit. Friendly, knowledgeable, and great energy -- exactly what you want from staff in a place like this. Service overall was excellent. If you're looking for a fun, social spot to hang out, grab a drink, and enjoy good company, Community Beer Company definitely delivers. Just maybe skip the tomato soup.

The restaurant itself has a real cool hip vibe, definitely up my alley. I ordered myself the beer cheese-steak (with fries) and a blue sapphire cocktail - these. were. AMAZING! They even have a "micro brewers menu" aka kids menu, my son chose the mini smashburgers with chips. He loved it so much, there was nothing left on his plate at the end. They have a bunch of board games available to use while dining so my son and I grabbed a Jurassic Park matching game, this was a super fun activity to do together while munching away. The decor and theme are inspired by New Orleans/Creole/Cajun vibes, and it's beautifully put together. The layout of the location is a slight "L" shape, so seating can be a bit limited during busy times. It's a seat-yourself setup, and they provide QR codes at the tables for you to place your order and pay when you're ready. Now, onto the food and service. Unfortunately, the wait for both food and drinks were longer than expected, even as the rush began to die down. Our pretzel appetizer didn't arrive until near the end of our meal, and sadly, it was overcooked. Drinks The beer was great and a definite highlight of the experience. Here's what we ordered: Appetizers Giant Pub Pretzel ($13.99): A 12.05 oz pretzel served with signature beer cheese and beer mustard. Unfortunately, this dish was a disappointment. Despite being called "Giant," the pretzel was thin, and was a bit overcooked. While we enjoyed the beer cheese, the beer mustard could have stayed in the kitchen. Loaded Broccoli ($8.99): Steamed broccoli seasoned with Cajun spices, topped with melted cheese and your choice of chicken, beef, or pulled pork. I chose chicken, which was delicious and well-seasoned. However, the cheese was a huge letdown, it had an odd, roux-like texture and flavor that nearly made the dish inedible. Entrée Voo-Dill Pickle Pizza ($12.99): Made with roasted garlic pesto, fresh mozzarella, thick-cut pickles, and a special Voo-Dill seasoning. While the concept was intriguing, the execution fell short. The pizza crust was undercooked, and the pickles seemed like they were added at the very end instead of being baked with the pizza. The garlic pesto was the highlight of this dish. Desserts -King Cake Slice ($3.XX): Clearly store-bought and not made in-house. It also took a while to reach our table, which was odd considering it's pre-packaged. The kitchen area even had the King Cake box visible. Beignets ($7.99): Over-fried and served with icing that was overly lemony, which overpowered the dish. Side Order Jalapeño Slaw ($2.99): The star of the meal! It had the perfect balance of mayo and vinegar, with a fresh kick from the jalapeños and Cajun spices. I wish I had ordered more! I think this place has a lot of potential. The concept is fantastic, but the kitchen needs improvement. I do plan to return and give it another try because the space and the idea are great. Hopefully, next time the food lives up to the vision!
