I came on a Tuesday at 7:45 pm. There was only one other table filled so the service was great to me. Food came out fast and fresh. I had the swamp water which was good but not on the sweet side. This is my second time coming to Bucky moon shines.. and honestly it's the closet thing to home here! I've tried other places but it really doesn't hit the spot. The service is A1 our bartender was Rico, and he was really nice and made our drinks soo good! But the best part of the restaurant is the vibes! When I tell you the music is hittin they play everything from Salonge to Backstreet Boys! There's a parking lot right next door.. it is paid parking so keep that in mind! After enjoying the Deep Ellum Block Party for a bit, we decided to hunt down some brunch, and so we found our way to Bucky's! From their bottomless mimosa brunch, to their Cajun full menu! I felt transported back to the streets of NOLA during Mardi Gras! I decided on their Gumbo and it was delish but my boyfriend's meal was the star of the show! He got their fried chicken and waffles, and they spared no expense at portion size!! Ordered several dishes the standout was the Boudin balls.IMO the dirty rice wasn't dirty tasted more like Spanish rice ,it wasn't even brown it was a yellowish color and tasted like it looked. The location is bustling and a nice area to walk around. The parking lot they have is utterly ridiculous so minimum amount to marking for 1-2 hours ranged from 16-20 dollars or utilize street parking which we couldn't find. We had a group to celebrate 3 famous birthdays of May together. 12-15 people. We had 12 people ready to sit and enjoy the music. We got rejected and they Didn't want to sit us on the patio( there were plenty of seats) They wanted us to put everyone tickets on one person credit card. They wouldn't serve us until everyone in the group was there. They wouldn't even take the drink orders. We ask all the questions to not cause a situation. When have the rules changed? It is a New policy. We just left 3 weeks ago and we had the same amount of people and it was no problem for everyone to pay their own tickets. They said if they have to do it for everyone else they have to do us the same. They said New Policy. They said it's the manager rules. They said order at the bar because they can't take our orders. They said we have to move because they have other people to fill the seats. We comply We go to the bar and we were told by the guy manager that we can't order at the bar. We should just get out and leave. They called security on us to be removed. All the staff was body language rude and attitude rude. I walked into this place totally clueless, only knowing there'd be moonshine involved, while my partner was practically bouncing with excitement--turns out she had an entire TikTok file saved on the place! Catfish was perfectly, lightly battered with thick fresh tasting filet. The french fries tasted fresh cut with just a little too much oil, put I used paper towels to dab and they were perfect.
