You can smell the food well, while you are waiting for a parking space outside the restaurant. The wait, for your food maybe a good 35- 60 minutes, before you may receive it, but Brandy the Manager will make sure, that your food is hot and finger tasting good

I have been waiting to come here for quite some time and try out the black box. Got here after work and the black box was sold out so we went with the crab boxes. We ended up getting the last of the crab and it showed. After our order they were sold out of all seafood. The flavor on the crab was really good and the butter sauce it comes with was so delicious. But the crabs were small and not the best quality. However, I enjoyed the sausage, corn, and potatoes it came with as well. Service wasn't the best but I'm just going to assume it's because we went after work and they were basically getting ready to close within the next two hours. I will say, I plan to come back and try way more items because the seasoning and flavor is on point.

Do not worry about the expensive price because you're going to get your money worth one plate feed three. Food is cook to order, fish was crispy and hot, and wings well seasoned. I've been to Aunt Irene several times and will definitely go back. P.s. great customer service

There is minimal seating. Cozy neighborhood eatery but the food is fantastic.. seasoned served hot and fresh. You walk up to the counter place your order and receive an order alert. The fried shrimp box was delicious, the shrimp are collasoul, buttered texas toast the cheesy potatoes were cooked soft. Cheesy and delicious the side of corn boiled sweet with that old bay OMG The wing and shrimp box was just as good if not better, the wings are whole big wings. The lemon pepper was spot on. We were visiting the Dallas area and this spot was on our list of local places to visit and I'm glad we did.

Believe the hype y'all! Aunt Irene's is the best Cajun/creole food spot in Dallas. I've been here multiple times and have never been disappointed. EVERYTHING is so good!! The flavors are bold, soulful & unique. If you love flavor, then you'll love it here!!! Besides food, it seems always busy but there's never a long crazy wait and the hospitality is always great. What I also love about Aunt Irene's is how vast & diverse their menu is. There is so much to choose from, and all of it is good!!! You must try it for yourself, if it sparks your interest.

Absolutely delicious! Everything was well seasoned and freshly prepared. The sauces are amazing! This place is worth the 4-hour drive from Hoston! I will go back e-v-e-r-y time I'm in the Dallas area! I only wish they had larger building, as they were quite busy and we had to wait a long time for the limited seating. I have to say it's well worth the wait and I'll be waiting whenever I have to in order to get m yummy food!!

Seafood was overcooked. Flavor was good. The sausage was really good. Definitely pricey so be prepared to spend more than $35 pp. The parking is limited but there is no charge. Location is near the fairgrounds. They serve premixed drinks in a bottle that is well prepared.

So I'm conflicted. I want to give this between 3 and 4 stars. The service was good, and we were given everything we asked for! The portions are huge so definitely worth the amount you're paying for seafood. The flavor of everything was very good from the seasoning to the sauce. The sausage, corn, and potatoes were absolutely amazing. The issues are with a few of the main food items. The crab legs were a little bit on the drier side, so we had a very hard time getting the meat out which is wild because that's the most expensive part. The shrimp was delicious but not deveined which is a bit odd. The fried catfish tasted a bit one note. My husband didn't even make the fried shrimp sound appetizing, so I didn't try that. The fried box came with cheesy potatoes which was just the plain potato with cheese on top. I wanted to like this so much more, but unfortunately there were just too many big misses! They had a ton of customers though and a lot of whom seemed like frequent fliers, so they have to be doing something right.

What is the best day to go, we drove down today and it was so packed we just left?

You have to take your chance with the rest of the folks waiting in line.

So you guys take phone orders and then we just pay and pick up?

I've tried calling in the past and no answer. I think they only take walk in orders. The wait is really not that long and it's worth it, even on busy days.

What time do they close on fridays now that covid is around?

    9pm

    What is the phone ni?

    (469) 899-7927

Do you need to make reservations? If not how long is the wait normally?

    1 hour

I called 5 times at different times not close to closing time and no answer, yalls phone work?

Lol you have to go up there .. it’s worth it tho .

Is this place open on Sundays?

    Yes it is.

Started with 3 pounds but it was so good I had to get two more pounds. The crawfish is seasoned the right way where the flavor is on the inside so they don't have to cover it in a dry spice. Also they were all big with just a few smaller ones. To top it off, having strawberry abita on tap is the perfect match for crawfish so I was extra happy. Saw the bread pudding on the menu and had to get it for dessert. It was warm, chocolate, and ate every bite. Delicious Southern Sweet Tea at that not what passes for sweet tea in Texas. I was not told to add grainy sugar into unsweetened tea like I was here. my tour guide was a local woman who's lived in the heart of New Orleans for 63 years, and was shocked and appalled when I read to her what the management of Charlie's Creole Kitchen replied to my critique regarding the Sweet Tea, (lack there of, as well as his belief that it isn't commonplace, or borderline essential) she was shocked in disbelief about as well as the astronomical prices we have to pay as their serving sizes in New Orleans are substantially bigger, for either equal or in some cases even cheaper prices. I understand importing certain coastal based ingredients can drive up the cost of the food, got it! that doesn't bother me as much as being gaslighted about things where this establishment does fall short. as a native Floridian, Foodie, and Avid Traveler. I don't really care how long someone's been running a kitchen (one way) constructive criticism should be embraced to increase the quality of an establishment, not gotten defensive over. Removing one star for having to go all the way to New Orleans to not feel like a crazy person about the Sweet Tea and Prices. This place is already really good! but could still be better! (OP) As someone from the Deep South, I have high standards for Southern Dives. First, a warning for my fellow Deep-Southerners: they must get away with this with their native Texan Patrons, but the lack of Sweet-Tea is Blasphemy. Unsweetened only. That's an automatic loss of a star. (that seems unfair over a beverage? no.) because for a lot of us from Louisiana, Bama, Florida, Georgia. The Standouts: * Baked Stuffed Flounder (10/10): Hands down the best dish I sampled. The roasted red pepper sauce is incredible, and the cheese grits make it a real southern comfort platter. * Chicken, Shrimp & Bacon Corn Chowder (10/10): Truly New England-level quality. An absolute explosion of flavor. * Crab Cakes (10/10): Rich, delicious, and worth every bite. The Middle Ground: The Boudin Balls and Seafood Gumbo were solid (7/10), though the gumbo doesn't quite reach the level of a spot like Pappadeaux, it's decent. $11 for 3 decent Boudin Balls is highway robbery at its best. The Fried Seafood Platter was good, 7.5/10 but at $35, the platter is on the smaller side, especially only given one piece of catfish. The Oysters & Shrimp were good, the Crawfish decent, Catfish was decent, it had a small hint of fishiness, but it was good overall nonetheless. The side salads (3/10) the after thought of the menu, chopped head of lettuce smothered in ranch (or Italian) with one banana pepper, and one slice of tomato that looks like it was suppose to be on a burger, no toppings at all. Truck stops have better prepared salads. Which wouldn't typically be a problem if this was a budget-friendly eatery, but for its Texas-Sized prices, And New-York sized portions. The oversight of the Sweet-Tea and a decent side salad is for sure a miss. It might fully please Texans, but it left somethings to be desired from a non-Texan southerner. That being said! It is absolutely well worth the visit! The food was all above average for the region, the service was friendly, attentive and fast, the food came out quickly and efficiently. The location isn't great, but not bad. a little tight and congested, the interior is very mom & pop feeling which is nice. I truly did enjoy my experience, misses and all. And look forward to returning to sample more of the menu!

The lobster tail was a bit tough and overcooked, which is a waste. Mussels were good too. Garlic noodles were not our favorite. Unfortunately, the service was questionable. Our server had difficulty communicating in English, which led to a costly misunderstanding. When we ordered crab, she never asked what type of crab we wanted and instead assumed king crab, which is significantly more expensive than other options. As a result, our bill was much higher than expected. To make matters worse, a 20% gratuity was automatically added to the bill without it being mentioned to us beforehand. While restaurants may choose to add gratuity in certain situations, customers should be clearly informed so there are no surprises. My advice: enjoy the food, but be very specific when ordering. Confirm exactly what type of crab you're getting, verify the pricing, and check your bill carefully. Also remember that gratuity should be clearly communicated and not assumed. Better communication would have made this a much better overall experience.I'd rate it 2.5 out of 5 stars. Great food, but the service and communication issues took away from the experience.

Yes. Regretting it? Not even a little. Every single bite hit. And let's talk about the hush puppies... they were shaped like little cylinders, which threw me off for a second, but LISTEN: they were FIRE. Like, don't even question it, just order them. I also got a 24 oz daiquiri called the "Side Piece" and the name alone had me crying laughing but it was GOOD good. The music was jumping, the vibe was everything, and the energy in there just felt right. But what really made the experience stand out was the service. D took care of me the whole time!
