If you're looking for a standout dining experience, look no further! This place felt like it was made just for me. First off, it's impeccably clean and the decor is on point, creating a fantastic atmosphere with great music. Plenty of parking , you really can't miss it. One way in and out which is no biggie. The customer service is top-notch--shoutout to Joelynn for swiftly fixing my online order mistake (Fryday ) she knows lol The food? Absolutely fresh! The catfish was perfectly seasoned, and the Cajun corn was so good I could eat it alone. The prices reflect the quality, especially for those generous fillets. You cannot have fish without the pepper lol. And don't skip the Kool-Aid--definitely a 10/10. I can't wait to return and explore more of the menu, especially the desserts. Huge thanks to the staff for making my day! Highly recommend this gem, and I'll be back soon!

The atmosphere was very welcoming. The women at the counter was helpful with advising on the best things on the menu. I got the All American daiquiri and it was delicious. Only complaint would be it was thick but very flavorful. I got the 2 pc catfish with 6 pc shrimp. Shrimp was fried to a golden brown perfection. The fish was fried golden brown; it could've used more season imo but had a good lemon taste. Fries weren't seasoned at all. Tartar sauce was straight nothing too crave for. Remoulade sauce was actually good. Overall food was a 8.7/10.

Here is my very HONEST review of the newest Mr. C location... Mr. Cajuns Pleasant Grove location sits on the corner of St. Augustine and Lake June in Dallas. Pulling up the the parking lot, it was squishy. There were only 3 available spots out of let's say 20+. We assumed that meant it was packed. The exterior looked huge and promising. Upon entry the aesthetic looks identical to the forney location. Same grey walls with graffiti Nola design. However the interior is WAY smaller than forney. Seating can only hold up to 20 customers. Not including the exterior seating which is made up of the metal frame tables with chairs. I will not be using that till the temperature reach's below 80 degrees. The menu although pretty much the same has a limited daiquiri menu. Rather than having up to 10 flavor options, there are ONLY 9. Prices for the 1 lb Cajun shrimp boil increased from $19.99 to $24.99 and the catfish filets must come in a combo. True this could be due to inflation or the simple fact of location. Overall the taste is exactly what I expected having been a frequent customer for forney. However the juice in the boil was just that juice. The consistency was more watery and the boil seemed slightly overcooked. But the catfish had the right amount of crunch and seasoning. It was perfect. Definitely would rather order ahead and pick up than be in the restaurant. Or just drive the 15+ minutes to forney. Overall pretty good and a 3.5 star rating for me.

Strawberry cake and daiquiri that was freestyled

I came here straight after work and everything from the customer service as soon as you walk in and sit down, down to the last crawfish I had was amazing. It's very clean, the playlist they have is suited for everyone who comes in, they have a bit of everything playing. The crawfish, shrimp boil, freestyled daiquiri , and fried corn were all good, crawfish was seasoned and buttered to perfection, the fried corn had the mix of sweet and salty, the daiquiri was the perfect mix of sweet and strong, and the shrimp was boiled nicely. The strawberry cake was rich, I had to finish it later. Everyone there were nice and talked to you and made me smile. Will be returning soon !!

Receipt. Did not receive Shrimp. Menu price is less than what I was charged.

Mr Cajuns appeared in my IG feed today and had decent reviews. I googled the menu and immediately saw that a 6 pc fried catfish with fries was $40. What??? Now you gotta stand on business if you're bold enough to charge those kinds of prices for fried catfish in Pleasant Grove. So I definitely planned to try it. And I definitely planned to write a DETAILED review. On Wednesday, July 3rd, I arrived at the Pleasant Grove location on Lake June Rd at approximately 12:15pm. There was ample parking, however, there was only one way in and out which I could see being an issue whenever traffic picks up. There's a cute patio out front and the grounds were clean. Upon entering, I was greeted by 3 beautiful ladies who made me feel welcomed and appreciated. Their customer service was excellent. No name tags were worn, otherwise I would thank them here individually. The inside is clean and sporty, with tv screens and a small sitting area. I discussed the menu with the young lady helping me and I ended up ordering the 2 pc fish and shrimp basket, a 6pc lemon pepper wing basket, and a banana pudding. They don't have hushpuppies which was a HUGE disappointment. My order was delivered promptly and with a smile in about 10 minutes. I drove back home to eat. Now.... The food looked amazing. It looked season. It looked flavorful. It looked DONE, as in cooked all the way through. Let's review each item shall we... *Please Refer to the pics* Catfish: Extremely fishy taste and smell. Clearly needed to be cooked longer. It had a pink tinge of color to it and it was watery and soft. I ate the ends of one filet that was cooked and it tasted very fishy. And I do not like fishy tasting fish. There was no flavor other than that and grease. Pros: nice sized filet. Fried Shrimp: I can't review it because they forgot to put it in my order. And yes, I paid for it. (See receipt) Also, the menu says $23.99 but I was charged $26.99. 6pc Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings: 3 out of 6 were cooked through. The other 3 were pink inside. (See pic) They seemed baked instead of fried, which is cool if you like em that way. But if you prefer more of a Wing Stop dry season type of lemon pepper, you won't like them. Pros: Lemon flavor was great. Fries: Basic. They put the fish on top of the fries which is the usual protocol at these types of restaurants, however, the fishy taste from the fish soaked into the fries. Did not taste good at all. "Complimentary" slice of white bread: Dear Mr Cajun: You are charging $40 for 6 pieces of undercooked, under seasoned Catfish. White bread is a slap in the face to the consumer. You're either a BMW or a Prius. You can't be both. Tartar sauce and Ranch: Store Bought. Again, with these high prices everything you serve should be FROM SCRATCH. No exceptions. Banana Pudding with no bananas: Not bad. The only thing I actually enjoyed. In summary, Mr Cajun was a whole lot of disappointment for the items I selected. To play devil's advocate, maybe fried catfish, wings, and fries aren't their specialty. The food looks great on social media but doesn't live up to the hype. Again, to be fair, I didn't try other menu items such as the seafood boils or oxtails, so those could be better. But I certainly won't order the very overpriced undercooked under seasoned catfish or wings again. On a positive note, they do have a nice variety of daiquiris to choose from so if you're into that, definitely give it a go. If I'm in the area and I want a daiquiri, I might try one myself. That could actually be the real superstar of the whole menu. But it definitely isn't the catfish or wings.

a mix of disappointed and dissatisfied. we visited this new location on their second day of opening. a very hefty total of a $135 plus a $10 tip upon purchase; a mix of daiquiris which were tasty, chamoy and tajin soaked "gooshers" (gushers) that unfortunately were literal mush assuming because they have sat too too long (we were excited about those and after one taste had to throw them away. thankfully they were only $1.50.......) , 3 catfish plates one with shrimp, and an oxtail plate. daiquiri : voodoo and lemonade are a good mix. catfish/shrimp : i don't believe the grease was old because the fries didn't have the same taste as they had a great crunch and decent flavor for a fry, however the catfish absolutely tasted burnt. the color of the fish itself was a bit darker than I am typically served at my usual place I go to in garland. also heavy on the salt. there was extra fish in our boxes and it's unknown as to why, maybe to make up for the mistakes if they were aware. shrimp are small and have a very thin batter. sides : we were given "butt-bread" in all 3 boxes of our food..... really? the end of the bread is okay to eat at home but not to be served at a restaurant, especially in all 3 plates. i can understand there being one end piece but to have this in all 3 boxes it gives the indication there is a lack of care in quality/appearance here. my mother asked for only rice with her oxtails and was still given corn and potatoes that had brown spots on the inside.... corn had flavor of shrimp/crab like it was pulled straight from a seafood boil but maybe that's the sauce. oxtails : my mother says the oxtails were good, just expensive. restaurant itself : clean, bright, and nice crystal chandelier-like lighting on the ceiling. in conclusion this was unfortunately not the best first impression for us from mr. cajuns, but there is always room for improvement and growth. congratulations on your new opening.

Started with 3 pounds but it was so good I had to get two more pounds. The crawfish is seasoned the right way where the flavor is on the inside so they don't have to cover it in a dry spice. Also they were all big with just a few smaller ones. To top it off, having strawberry abita on tap is the perfect match for crawfish so I was extra happy. Saw the bread pudding on the menu and had to get it for dessert. It was warm, chocolate, and ate every bite. An absolute explosion of flavor. * Crab Cakes (10/10): Rich, delicious, and worth every bite. After a long day in transit, all we wanted was something deeply satisfying, the kind of meal that feels like a reward. When my mother suggested Aunt Irene's Kitchen, there was no hesitation. She spoke of it with the reverence reserved for places that become part of your personal geography former neighborhood staples, the kind you measure other meals against. Years ago, when she lived nearby, this was her spot. And now, standing beside her in a line that stretched out the door, it was clear we weren't the only ones holding onto that sentiment. The queue moved with surprising ease, a quiet efficiency that felt almost practiced. Inside, the energy was unpretentious and steady. Our cashier, while not particularly warm, was brisk and knowledgeable answering questions with the kind of clarity that suggests confidence in the product more than performance. We ordered simply: wings with fries, and two plates of fried fish with fries. The wings hadn't been part of the original plan, but a fellow patron mid-meal and visibly excited leaned over to insist. It felt like advice worth taking. And it was. The food arrived in its own time this is not a place for the impatient but what it lacked in speed, it more than made up for in flavor. The fish was crisp and tender, the wings richly seasoned, each bite layered with the kind of depth that doesn't rush itself. Then there was the jalapeño tucked alongside the plate like a quiet signature. It cut through the richness with a bright, deliberate heat, a small but memorable detail that elevated the entire experience. The dining room itself is modest and well-kept, with many opting to take their meals to-go or retreat to their cars.
