My wife and I visited the Lake Highlands location in June and truly enjoyed the meal. The restaurant was extremely packed but once settled we were treated to of the best pancakes we tasted. Good crab legs here! Nice portion and fresh. I did not like that the butter didn't taste like real butter, I'm pretty sure it was margarine. Sadly the potatoes were seriously overcooked and very mushy, but probably an isolated issue. Service is very friendly and kind. Counter ordering and take a number. Dining area was clean and pleasant. It's real, hot, and fresh. I've had several things from their menu. The crawfish bites and really small but they are tasty and crispy. I love the fried boudin balls. Everything is seasoned very well. And I think the dishes are priced well. read more

The catch has the best fried catfish in DFW. The service is very friendly and reasonably fast. When you get your food too fast it's not going to be good. The restaurant is very clean with a Louisiana style. I recommend eating it there. Most fried food doesn't eat well after sitting in a container for any length of time. read more

5/14/25 I was in today and had a cup of gumbo and order of fried okra. The fried okra was average, it was good and fried well, just not a lot of flavor to it. The gumbo was absolutely horrible. One of my lunch mates had it also and agrees. It was burnt the room was dark and tasted burnt, there was no visible okra in it, when I brought this to the attention of the workers I was told that it was boiled down so the okra was not visible. I had about two or three bites and had to push it away from me it was not palatable my lunch mate did not eat there's either. On the way out the door I saw a table with two women that had it also, and they also were telling the woman that works there, that it did not taste good at all. It had become very soggy from being enclosed which made it pretty gross. The new potatoes were good. A lot of money to spend for good new potatoes. I've dined in recently and the fish was great.
