My friends and I are on a cross country road trip and were really craving a seafood boil--We found this spot on Yelp, about 15 minutes from our hotel, so we decided to check it out. -- Combo #1, which lets you pick 3 out of 4 seafood options for $47, plus corn, sausage, and potatoes. We chose crawfish, mussels, and shrimp head-on with Cajun&Garlic butter--it tasted super tangy for some reason, I think they may have accidentally added lemon pepper but it was good still. --My other friend got 1 lb of crawfish and 1 lb of shrimp with mild Louisiana sauce, which was sweet and buttery. The Louisiana sauce is definitely the go to choice, if you dont know which to get. --We also got rice (a bit dry but perfect for soaking up the sauce) and steamed broccoli, which was cooked deliciously. -- And the only other thing I would mention, is the shrimp and mussels were of good size but the crawfish was on the skinnier/small size.. a little disappointed but still great, nonetheless. This is the best seafood boil I have ever had. I loved the flavor from the Kick'n style flavor. The crawfish was also very big and had lots of meat. I liked the shrimp and potato and corn a lot, definitely worth the additional cost. The sausage was alright, I personally did not think its necessary. This is probably the third time I've been to Kicking Crab within the last two months and I can't complain. My usual order is the crawfish with Kickin' Style, with the spicy spice level. I've been pleasantly surprised by the decent size of their crawfish this season, especially considering how hard they've been to find elsewhere. The oysters have also been consistently good-sized during my recent visits. I've experienced varying crowd levels here; weekdays tend to be less busy, but last Saturday had a line out the door, so i would recommend to come prepared for a wait. The aesthetics were nothing special. It was clean and seating was adequate. Upon entering there is a sign that says what to be seated. No one comes to seat you. They stand behind the counter and wave to you then tell you to find a seat. Ok that's fine. The servers are friendly enough but don't really explain how things work so you have to figure it out yourself. Again that's fine. The food is really good. I had crab legs and mussels and they were perfect. You are supposed to dump the bag onto the table which is covered with a disposable covering. I chose not to do that because I knew I wouldn't eat it all and I didn't want the mess. I ended up using my husband's empty plate for my shells. My husband had the shrimp basket and he really enjoyed it as well. I would go back for the crab legs. We spent about $118 for the two meals and two drinks and tip. read more

Good quality food and everything served nice and hot. The food is very flavorful and worth every dollar spent. My only recommendation is to enhances English fluency for some of the waiters / waitresses because of the language barrier it was difficult to communicate. But when another person came over with stronger English fluency everything was worked out. Great experience for the 4th time. read more

Crawfish is so expensive now due to limited supplies in the market. Apparently the drought is killing the breeding. A pound of crawfish was $15.99 when I came in. Also had a pound of clams and they were filling enough. I've frequent their Carrollton location before and it's consistent in recipe. Taste great read more

Kickin Crab is actually my go to spot and one of the best seafood spots in terms of seasoning but I went there yesterday and I felt cheated. I ordered a pound of shrimp and it didn't feel like a pound of shrimp at all and this is my go to order normally. I also ordered a taco and it kind of looked like it was thrown together and not made with love which was very disappointing because it wasn't for me. I went here today because I Googled "best catfish near me", and this popped up. I go in, check out the menu, and don't see catfish. I ask the girl at the counter if they had any, and she says, "Yes, we do. It's just not on the menu. It's listed under Fish n Fries." I should've left then - do you, or don't you have catfish, sis? So I look at the menu and see that the fish in the Fish n Fries basket is listed as "white fish". I ask her again, if she's sure this is catfish, and she says "Yes. I'm sure". She tells me that they are filets, but they are about the size of chicken tenders. That didn't make sense, but I just figured that they were taking a filet and cutting it in half. Fine. I ordered the fish basket and corn to-go. I get home and open up my food. No ma'am, absolutely not - that was NOT catfish. It was maybe swai or the white fish that was listed on the menu, and it was ONE piece of fish, chopped in four pieces. Never seen chicken tenders that looked like squares. For $10, please do better. And sis, please learn the menu if you're going to be advising customers on the menu. I'm giving two stars because the corn in the Louisiana seasoning was DELISH. read more

Skip the gumbo - lacks flavor. Cajun fries - super skinny, crispy with a little spice. They were good. Kickin Wings - average wings, nothing exciting. Garlic noodles - they were garlic noodles. Heavy on the butter. We shared a combo #3: Crawfish were tasty. Shrimp were okay, a little difficult to peel but flavor was good. Snow crab legs were better than I expected, they were cooked okay. The difficulty is the kickin spice we opted for didn't really compliment the crawfish, but more favored the shrimp. And trying to crack crabs legs proved difficult because there's butter and spice coating them. Corn was surprisingly okay. Sausage was just okay. It ain't no Goldie's. But, it's Cajun not BBQ. We choose to make our boil instead of going for the combo. It reached about $20 per each one but it was only because the crawfish and shrimp were a $11 a lb. special. Meaning they are at market price so it may vary. Our choice of sauces: Cajun & spicy for the crawfish boil Cajun & spicy spicy for the shrimp boil It was so delicious!!! Service was horrible. Shrimp was hard and rubbery. The sauces were served cold for my friend and yet warm for me. The taste of them was sweet and not savory or spicy as we ordered. We went for my birthday as I have had the place in my bookmarks for a while. Really nicely done in the inside, and nice white (butcher paper) table cloths. :) If you plan on getting anything with sauce, like stuff in a bag, don't wear nice clothes. If you are like me you'll get it all over you. Sauce was great and we didn't have any issue with it being enough for the feed we ordered like others have indicated. Not impressed with this place at all. First time here with some frequent customers . My thing is always about the sauce . We ordered the hottest sauce for the crawfish and it tasted like normal . We asked for the spiciest sauce they have on side and it still taste like mild sauce . We were very disappointed they couldn't provide anything spicy. Food was mediocre and nothing unique . Never a big fan of the gulf coast oysters . Seems like all these crawfish place have only one selection of oysters which is the nasty gulf coast. Snow crab and fries was also mediocre . I took my husband and son there for the first time and we ordered crab boils, shrimp Alfredo and fried shrimp with fries. Our food came out warm and they crab was tough to crack. The crab was so small mind you we had snow crab and king crab. I'm use to crab boils coming with 2 pieces corn and 4 to 6 sausages and they told us the combo had it with one each. The fried shrimp had a good flavor and the fries were shoestring cut. I will not be going back to KC. I should have stayed with Super Shack. They are the best. Their food comes out piping hot and the crabs are nice size and easy to crack. I just felt that $200 wasn't worth what we got. Super Shack in McKinney is the best hands down for crab boils. I know everyone has their preference but this place didn't do it for me. My family said the same thing. read more

Coming back from my sudden departure (I forgot the password to my account) I have stumbled upon this dingy little restaurant just in the corner of Walnut St. I go in assuming it's a seafood restaurant, until the waiter says it's mostly a bagged seafood location? If you want to do boils then maybe have better presentation; why would I want to eat out of a bag? My family and I wound up getting popcorn shrimp and fish tacos, though the shrimp was incredibly small and the fish unbearably dry. It's ludicrous that the bill was almost 80 dollars. I had the special deals - snow crab special (comes with 1 potato, 1corn and 3 sausages) and add crawfish and egg (medium spice and Kickin style seasoning). My family also did the snow crab special and added 1/2 shrimp. Ordered fries and onion rings. We truly loved the service, they were very attentive and asked how was the food and if we needed a refill. The ambiance gave chill vibes and it was really packed. Me and my family will be back again. This restaurant is absolutely underrated. The food is AMAZING!!! My friend and I came after church on a Sunday. I ordered the fried shrimp basket and she got the crayfish with their signature seasoning/butter sauce. Everything came out so fast and the food was perfection. I have to say that they serve some of the best fried shrimp and seasoned fries! The crayfish as well was so so good. I couldn't imagine how delicious everything was. She suggest I get the kickin' style which is all flavors in one, and I got hot.. and I could've went for extra hot because it was hot like expected. The kickin' style flavor is a bit sweet.. but it was good. I also got the edamame spicy on the side & steamed broccoli added inside the bag. I really enjoyed the edamame! Soo good. I went to kickin crab yesterday in Garland Off of walnut street I said I was not going back after my last review I put sometimes you want to give a restaurant a second chance well I did and I was wrong I pay a total of $117.00 something first my order was $107.00 then I order and half pounds of shrimps they charger $10 for 8 shrimps that's a half pound that's crazy ok the cheated me out of $36 it suppose be 3 orders plus a side of cluster well I got home I did not get my son order I was charged $36 but I didn't get my other order so that was my last time apparently they don't care about the reviews but don't eat there the crablegs was soft shell and skinny the crab legs I thought they supposed to be hard shell this time they are trash if you don't know what you want they will not help you at all ordering so this my second time I order something and got charged for it and didn't get I lost $36 because I trust them putting my orders together they are over rated I will be posting on other platforms I'm done eating there thats my last draw and they really don't care at all read more

The food was great! The crab, potatoes, sausage, and corn had an excellent flavor. They really need to have the tiny forks that help remove the smaller pieces of crab meat-the crackers alone aren't enough. Our service was ok. Go to the kickin crab every time my boyfriend and I have a craving for some seafood and it never misses. I usually get a pound of shrimp and a pound of mussels with a side of rice and walk out feeling I'm going to explode. So filling and so delicious. The food is great so there's usually always a wait time but it's so worth it. Staff is pretty attentive when checking on you. It's kind of a small location compared to Carrollton but same type of aesthetic. My usual go to place when wanting a crab boil type of sit down and eat.
