    Seafood potato! Friday special!

Oooooweee, Peewee! Now don't be playing! You are so wrong for this! I'm trying to start a diet soon! I picked up my hot, fresh seafood potato... and hit two curbs sneaking bites all the way home. Listen, I'm fully having an affair on my NOLA spots. You are way too close to my house, Peewee! I can't act right! This perfectly seasoned fish with a thicc girl crab cake can only be from the Boot! This sauce is so rich and naughty that I forgot my name and blushed! Oooooweee, Peewee--I did a little food dance. We can cook a lot in Texas, but this baby is not something we can do! You better go find this hidden gem--hurry up before he goes viral!

The food is so delicious & has so much flavor! Their blackened chicken linguini & the who dat pasta is so good! Along with their crab cakes! Also their garlic bread is soo good! I wish the pieces were bigger or they gave a little more, it pairs so well with the pasta!

Pedwees Crab cakes in Garland is absolutely amazing. I ordered the seafood potato via DoorDash for lunch and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. I was able to make 3 meals out of one potato so it's definitely worth every penny that they charge. My only suggestion would be to add an extra side of the amazing sauce on delivery orders because it tends to evaporate when you heat the potato up. Now to the crab cakes..... this was the best crab cake that I've had in a very long time. If you love crab cakes, you definitely have to give this place a try. I promise you won't be disappointed!

I love seeing Cory's reviews as he is ALWAYS spot on! We got 2 seafood champs and every last single thing was seasoned!!! All you need to know is Go! Pickup your food! Eat it IN THE CAR WHILE ITS HOT Rinse and repeat next month.

    Who Dat Seafood Pasta
    Kam H.

Yes, God! Authentic New Orleans food, right in my backyard. I tried the Who Dat Seafood Pasta and in the words of Rolling Ray, it was giving what was supposed to be gave. Try it - you won't be disappointed. My one critique - for the price of almost $30 for one entree, they should at least give you some type of bread to go with it. Add that to this meal, and it's easily 5 stars.

This food was soooo flavorful and filled with soul. We enjoyed the crab legs, rib eye, cajun pasta, and broccoli. I can't wait to try the crab cakes along with everything else on the menu. I don't give out 5 stars freeely. These stars are well earned.

This places serves amazing New Orleans seafood in Texas. This place is takeout only but food is high quality. I have been here twic and everything that I have tried is amazing. I got food for a few of my friends and they were shocked to find out a place this good was located in Garland.

Crawfish poboy with seafood sauce on French fries.
    Dellmy S.

I love NOLA and this food here took me there instantly. The crab cake poboy was delicious. The crawfish poboy was full of flavor, but the tails were too small. I understand is close to the end of crawfish season, but I rather not have such small tails. We added their seafood sauce to one of the fry orders, and regretted not doing it to both. All we tried was seasoned to perfection. Can't wait to try more dishes.

    Me when I finished

The food was absolutely amazing. The shrimp were juicy and fresh! When I entered I get greeted by the most amazing people. I will be coming back without a doubt! love chris!

I enjoyed what I tried and I do plan to come back for other visits. This is what I tried: 88 sauce: 8/10 medium spice, garlicky, could have more lemon and a hint of sweetness to balance. I do like this sauce and would try again. Lemon pepper sauce: 10/10 I gelt this one was more of the balance I was looking for. It could still use a bit more sweet but to me it is the best one. Garlic sauce: 7/10 if you enjoy a heavy garlic flavor this is the one. Not too bad but not my favorite due to the lack in balance. Garlic noodles: 8/10 the noodles were cooked perfectly. The garlic is present through and through. I did try it with the 88 special sauce. I also added a hint of sweet with chili sauce. The added sauce brought it up to a 10. Eggs: 8/10 basic boiled eggs. Could have been boiled a few less minutes. Got them in the 88 sauce. White clams: 10/10 I enjoy the tender chew of this over the manila clams. I tried these with the lemon pepper sauce. I like the lemon pepper sauce the best with these. Manila clams: 7/10 these are ok, they are more chewy than the white clams. I am glad I tried them to establish the difference. Crab legs: 10/10 well cooked not over cooked. Juicy and fresh. Sausage, corn, potatoes: 10/10 sausage plumb and juicy with a snap. Corn sweet, plump, and perfectly cooked. Potatoes most of them were cooked perfectly and just a few could have cooked a bit longer.

The oysters, burrata, smoked clam chowder, yellowtail curd, smoked salmon dip with homemade potato chips, and the fried cod, frites and Cole slaw. Some of us had cocktails- all great, then we all switched to wine, then finished with espresso martini and amazing dessert. Everything was expertly hand crafted (cocktails), and the food expertly prepared so our high praise and compliments to the Chef, Sous, Cooks, Servers, Hostess and Restaurant Manager, who did stop by and check on us. Thanks for a great experience! We'll return!

The onion rings were also a big disappointment not near the crispiness or freshness or flavor of the ones I had at their Casa Linda location. In both locations, the sides they give you are never consistent. For example, one combo had cocktail sauce (which was still frozen) and the other combo did not. Not sure if I'll try this location again.

The staff is so friendly and seems like a family. The prices are 10% under comp eateries. It's as if the owners took the best part of all fine dining and combined them. Here it is a relaxed but respectful environment with food that you would think comes from a Michelin rated spot. The clientele is eclectic and younger. I'm 47 so I am not like those around me but can see the client base. I'm not sure if it's the minimal menu (please take this as an anti Cheesecake Factory comment) or the items compliments that are setting it apart. What I mean is the steak by itself is amazing. Truly a top 10 steak (ribeye at $48) or the accompanying sauce that it setting it apart. I advise take two to three bites from different stations of the meat. Then take the same bites with their paired glaze. Make your own decisions. You aren't telling the full story if you didn't pair it with a great house Bonanza cab (actually on happy hour except for Fridays). The verdict. This place will be one I will always take clients to when visiting Dallas. The verdict on me is that I'm a steak based reviewer so I might be wrong on all other aspects but the only likely wild card here would be the salads and seafood. I'm not here at a steakhouse for anything else. My wife can write that review. Last PS is that Dave the bartender is nice and accommodating and will let you explore the space . He is matter of fact but possibly could be a friend if not already to all. Watching Dave now live with his regulars says that he balances all customers very well. Negatives. Parking is just slightly odd. There is plenty of it and valet is free to customers. Let's not worry. No rush to get here at 5. The regulars and common come in around 6 as all others do on a Friday (this was my second night after being here for Thursday) Food has arrived. App is the carpaccio and holy shit wow. Not some boring small plate that exudes poor people suck. It's above average size like it should be . I'm not sure why the garlic bread is hear other than a nod to old school. My steak is in a to go box (nicely wrapped with utensils and yes that matters when you travel). This is my steak and if it sucks I'll remove the review. I'm kidding as it's a to go. This is a real world review. I do one long review every few years.

There are booths along the wall, although we were seated in the middle of this giant room. The restaurant is modern and has an upscale vibe. Dress ranged from casual to people getting dressed up. For starters, we shared the Oysters Rockefeller. They were not my favorite. The flavors were not balanced and there was too much garlic. A couple of the oysters were extremely chewy and had to be discarded. At $18, they were a disappointment. For entrees, the wife had the Branzino and liked it, although she mentioned several times that the Branzino at Zeppole is much better. I ordered the Bistro steak which is a 9 oz tenderloin. The meat was cooked to medium as requested. However, it was not seasoned at all. I guess the cook thought that the peppercorn would compensate, but I got my sauce on the side and ate the meat without. Only after I found out that the steak was not seasoned did I add the sauce. The sauce was ok but did not have a lot of flavor. I have had better. A big problem was that the "steak knife" that I was given was so dull that it was impossible to cut the steak across the grain. I could only sort of tear at the meat as I cut with the grain. The knife needed to be serrated and it was not. It was not a proper steak knife, which made eating the steak a chore. The meat was tender, but certainly not Prime and certainly not the most tender tenderloin that I have ever had. At $31, which is very inexpensive for tenderloin, I guess you get what you pay for. The fries were thin and crisp and the best part of the entree. For dessert, the wife and I shared a piece of pecan pie and it was excellent. Not too sweet, but sweet enough. Our server Marcella was professional and efficient. No complaints. There is complimentary valet parking. The concept behind this restaurant is an affordable steak house. These days, the cost for two people at an upscale steak house will easily exceed $300. Our bill at Steakyard was about half of that. Once again, you get what you pay for. Our meal was good, but not great. I could easily go 3 stars but I will bump it up one star based on the ambience, service, and dessert.
