For apps, the mac and cheese bites with crab. This should feel heavy but it doesn't. Moist and full of flavor. We did the crab fingers (special on the black board... pay attention to the specials they are fire). Tons of crab for the price and the chowder type sauce was so good. I just wish I had more bread to soak it up. Dinner was the tuna with mango sauce. I got mine rare and it was perfectly cooked. The filet was well seasoned and the sauce complimented it well. Seven of us went out for dinner and we chose this restaurant as nobody had been here prior. We were greeted quickly and our waitress was amazing! We all received samples of the soup and the poblano soup was a table favorite! Our food was delicious as well as our waitress. We loved the evening Happy Hour on a Saturday evening. Only complaint was it was entirely too humid in the restaurant, so much so that we were miserable in that sense. Everyone constantly had to wipe the water glasses off before taking a drink. The menu pricing is fair given its seafood but not super affordable either. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller. The oysters were massive! However, I wasn't really a fan of the sauce, and especially not the lettuce. Because the dish was served hot, the lettuce was soggy and impacted both the texture and taste of the overall dish. The best thing, in my opinion, were the Mac and cheese crab cakes. A truly genius combination. Lastly, the fried catfish was just okay. It was kind of bland but not super crispy either. Met a friend for dinner on a Friday evening. The happy hour for drinks goes until 7, even on Friday. Love that. We had blanco margaritas. My friend loved hers, but I felt it was more sour than needed. We got the dynamite shrimp and crab fingers as apps. Shrimp was awesome! We devoured it before I snapped a pic. Crab fingers were good too. Entrees were delicious! Trout with a white wine sauce and capers and artichoke hearts. The fresh spinach on rice was a perfect accompaniment. I ate the whole thing. We enjoy going on date nights here. We try and sit away from crowds and people partying. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and allow just the right amount of time to come back and check on our table. We've tried a good many items on the menu and attempt to get something different each visit. This place is wonderful! The calamari appetizer is really tasty and crispy yet tender inside. The fish and chips were good too. The dynamite shrimp tacos were alright, nothing too spectacular about it. The Bourbon Street Texas Redfish had many interesting elements to it but the gumbo itself lacked some depth of flavor. I think it seems like a hit or miss depending on the dishes but the overall quality is still there. I'd go back to try more things as they do have a great extensive menu for a seafood restaurant. We were greeted and seated right away and given a few minutes to look over both the regular menu and the chalkboard specials. Since it was late, we skipped appetizers, but our entrées came out in about 10 minutes. Even with that our waiter was super friendly and attentive the whole time. We started with the crab fingers which came in creamy lemon garlic butter sauce. I tried the catfish and shrimp combo, both blackened. I ended up using the leftover sauce from the crab fingers to put on my catfish and shrimp. The sauce took it to another level!! The staff was great from the moment I walked in they greeted me and were friendly. The menu is not overwhelming but has a lot of variety to choose from. I had the Dynamite shrimp for starters and the Baja tacos as my main course. The Dynamite shrimp were amazing, cooked just right and not too much sauce making them soggy. It came with a spicy dipping sauce as well that paired well. The Baja tacos were beer battered with the perfect crunchy crust. The slaw on these tacos was crunchy and seasoned just right. Honestly, everything was great. I have absolutely no critics. I also had the black berry French 75; one of the best I've ever had. We started with the dynamite shrimp and hushpuppies -- shrimp was , easily a 9.5/10. Hushpuppies were solid but nothing crazy, just small. I ordered the Ruby Red Trout -- super flavorful, light seasoning so you really taste the fish, and the sauce tied it all together. Went in and had a seat, from looking on the app, the food looked amazing. I ordered the crab cakes and definitely loved it. It's very fulfilling. Then I ordered the redfish... the gumbo was good. The cornbread was kind of dry but the spinach was flavorful. However, the fish didn't seem to have much flavor especially for it to be blackened. Our server sat us down and took our drink order, did not provide any straws. We had to get up and go to the bar to get our own straws just to enjoy our drinks. She came by to take our order and she gave us different hot sauces for our food, however she wasn't very attentive. The ambiance of the restaurant even on Sunday is chill but it is noisy especially because the music is low so you can hear everyone's conversation. However it's not that I wouldn't recommend this place I just wouldn't recommend going on a Sunday or ordering the redfish. read more

This was our first time to eat here at the recommendation from a co-worker of my dearly beloved. I went on the website to review the menu and see what options they had for Gluten Free. Can I tell you I was all giddy and excited because they literally had a FULL Gluten Free menu, not one or five bland items or a salad with a piece of grilled 'something'. I'm talking FULL GF MENU!!! Appetizers GALORE... and soup CHOICES not just one. I mean it's been almost a decade since I have had clam chowder, I could have BATHED in it! DELICIOUS!! We had the chargrilled oysters, which we are generally not a fan of, however, these were divine!! Lightly grilled, juicy oysters, the perfect amount of melted parm, just yummy!! My dearly had the Red Snapper St Charles style and subbed the grits for garlic mashed potatoes, he said it was amazing! I had the Ruby Red Trout, just as it came with white rice. We each had a cocktail, he had the Blanco Margarita and I had the Blackberry Lemon French 75 Martini, fantastic!! OMGawsh when I tell you to go eat here, RUN don't walk and don't delay! We used some of this weird lawless airport time we called the 2024 holidays for a quick jaunt to Dallas area. We stayed in Plano for kiddo activities and picked Anaya's for dinner one night because it was close to the hotel. It's located in a strip center, well lit, kinda tucked in the corner. Inside is cozy, and decent amount of seating. As far as food is concerned, everything, and I mean everything was absolutely fantastic. We did the margarita flight - the dragon fruit and the watermelon ones were my favs. It was our first time so they offered the little soup sampler - we had a bunch of fun ranking them, and even then saying one was lowest on the list was laughable, because they were all amazing. Kiddo settled on a bowl of clam chowder, I got a cup of chowder and the special - a Parm crusted flounder with asparagus, and hubs did the same entree with char grilled oysters. Did I mention everything was amazing? We were too stuffed for dessert, which we have mild regret over not being able to try, but c'est la vie. So, we ordered a boatload of food and drinks, and y'all, the bill wasn't an arm and a leg. In fact, it was super reasonable. We had a great experience from food to service (they are super nice, anyone you interact with). Next time I'm in town, I wouldn't hesitate to take a side quest for Anaya's - this place is an absolute gem!! read more

This was all right! I usually go to Thai Thumbz next door if I'm in the area, but they're closed on Sundays. Waitstaff was super courteous and knowledgeable about the menu. I had a dragonfruit margarita, crab cakes, and the mahi mahi special. I seldom drink, but the margarita was an absolute standout. They used a generous amount of tajin on the rim, garnished with fresh mango and mint, and the blended concoction of dragonfruit (and I think watermelon) was so, so good. I've been to the OG Marianos, and honestly, Anaya wiped the floor with them on this blended marg. Sorry not sorry. Really fresh, balanced, and delicious. An absolute gem. And you don't have to drive to Arlington to get it, which is a huge bonus. The crab cakes were meh. They weren't completely warmed through and not crispy enough for my preference, but they were okay. The mahi mahi special was very good. It was a generous portion of fish, panko-crusted, served atop a rich, cheesy mashed potato patty of sorts with wilted spinach and a really nice pepper-peach relish. The fish was a little overcooked for my taste and had a rather firm hand, but on the whole, the flavors were well thought out and it was a really nice dish overall. The two grilled shrimp atop were totally underseasoned and forgettable, but the rest of the dish was so nice I didn't mind. I ordered some hush puppies to try (and to soak up some of that margarita, because hello, absolute lightweight) and they weren't done in the middle. :( In all - dragonfruit margarita was a complete stunner, the mahi mahi was good, and the appetizers were less than stellar. Wowza, this place is yumazing!! The food was delicious, waiter-Jesse was amazing and I can't wait to go back. I was able to enjoy brunch where mimosas are $4-yes please, I'll have another. The ambiance was great in an ocean style theme. Food came out fast, fresh, and most importantly delicious. The clam chowder was one of the best I have tasted in Texas. Still cannot beat the PNW but, it was a close 2nd!! Which is great because I will not be going to Seattle anytime soon. There was still a number of tables in the main dining area but our party of 3 were seated in this back hallway close to a group having some sort of birthday celebration. And honestly it would've been fine if it wasn't for the fact that because the waiter was busy handling the very large group, it took a really long time for us to order our food. It was also very hard to get other waiter's attention since not a lot of employees were walking in the back area. We went here for the first time, and overall the experience was good but the food was just above average, not amazing. We ordered the crab cake appetizer and a cup of gumbo, and I will tell you this crab cake was really good!! They did such a great job, super generous on crab, and the aioli and salad they give on the side are great for flavor contrast. The gumbo was alright, there was a lot of shrimp but nothing special. Highly recommend the crab cake though! For entrees, we got the Ruby Red Trout and Fried catfish. The trout comes on cornbread with spinach, Cajun sauce, and a bit of shrimp, scallops, and crawfish in the sauce. The fish itself is definitely red trout and was cooked well, crunchy on the outside while the meat was tender and fresh. The cornbread was also really good, I liked it a lot more than I thought! The only weird part was the shrimp and crawfish in the sauce, they were a bit cold while everything else on the plate was hot. I also didn't feel this was truly blackened trout, more just trout that was cooked well but not necessarily the Cajun blackened flavor I was looking for. The fried catfish was crunchy but lacked some seasoning in my opinion, and the catfish tasted very catfish(y?) like almost gamey, which is normal for catfish but if prepared well, you don't taste it. The hush puppies were great, but we weren't a big fan of this entree overall. Portions were huge however! The interior is nice and clean, and service is also great and fast! For Cajun style seafood, this place is not bad, but I would mostly recommend the crab cake appetizer and their hush puppies. The price is a little high, and I would say the smokiness and strong Cajun flavor was a little lacking. After Fishmongers closed, I am still looking for a good go to Cajun place, and have tried other options but none were quite the same.
