I love this place so much. I think I've been coming to Pappadeaux for the better part of thirty years and have a great time every time. No reservation 3 top on a Saturday at noon and had no issue getting a table immediately. The server was fantastic as always. Friendly and present without being invasive. The food is always top quality. Whatever you order is going to be fresh and well prepared. My only wish is that they had a burger on the menu. Not a basic one by any means. Shrimp scampi burger or something else along those lines. It doesn't have to be beef. It's always clean and smells great. I came here for my birthday dinner with family and they were able to accommodate an extra member coming. Our server was extremely amicable and helpful with our orders. He refilled our drinks as quickly as we finished them, got our food out to us at a decent time and gave me a birthday cake ! We ordered from the restaurant week menu so this came with a soup (i got shrimp gumbo) and a dessert (i ordered key lime pie). I didn't get photos of those two but the shrimp gumbo was okay, nothing to write home about. The pie was tangy and still sweet. My trout was delicious and i didn't even realize how good butternut squash could be until i put some salt and pepper on it ! I'd go back for that alone. Had an absolutely amazing dinner in the bar area. We were able to grab seats immediately with no wait. Restaurant was clean and had an upbeat and elegant atmosphere. Very disappointing experience at Pappadeaux in Richardson. We came in around 12:25 PM during our lunch break to celebrate a coworker's birthday and were seated immediately. The restaurant was fairly slow and definitely not a full house, so we did not expect the delays that followed. Service was extremely slow from the beginning. We had to ask multiple times for lemons for our water, and only 3 out of 4 people received the side salads we ordered. We then waited over an hour for our entrees. During that time, we asked our server 2-3 times for an update and were repeatedly told our food would be out "shortly." Meanwhile, tables that arrived after us received their appetizers and meals, finished eating, and even paid before we received our food. After waiting over an hour, we finally decided we had to leave and asked to pay for what we had received. Our food conveniently came out as we were getting ready to leave. The manager then explained that our server had forgotten to press "send" on our order, so it was never submitted to the kitchen. What was most frustrating is that we had asked for updates multiple times. Had our server actually checked on the order the first time we asked, the mistake could have been caught much sooner instead of us repeatedly being told the food was coming out shortly. The manager offered to box up our food and give us a gift card, but we declined both. We had already spent our entire lunch break waiting and needed to return to work. Definitely the worse in terms of service out of the DFW locations. Didn't have modelo then took 20 mins to get my drink. Entree' came out on time, but asked for lemon for my fish, which also wasn't blackened like I asked... Didn't see the lemon for 15 mins after my fish arrived. These things could have been made up for with good service but the bartender was very unbothered and didn't become charismatic until I was closing out the tab on the tablet. Great visit with family. I highly recommend reservations on the weekend. We were greeted and seated quickly while walk ups were given an hour wait. Food was outstanding!
